I met with Armando over 3 weeks ago to review our handrail project, but never received a quote, so can't assess the quality of the product. There must be a shortage of welders in the area, because several of them have been flaky and not followed up. Good for them that they are busy! On Sunday, March 17th, my husband and I suffered a break-in in the pre-dawn hours in our condo in Duboce Triangle of San Francisco while we slept through the whole thing, ugh! A thief crowbarred open our front window after standing on a nearby ledge, and promptly stole my almost-new MacBook Air off my nearby desk because I had left the Bluetooth active overnight, which I know now can be easily tracked through an everyday app. A very unfortunate learning experience, but we were very glad that is all they appear to have taken! We wanted to reinforce our condo ASAP and found Neza Iron Works through Yelp and Google. I reached out to the number listed on Yelp and it belonged to the very kind owner, Mr. Armando Sánchez, who picked up that Sunday on his own line while at home with his family. He agreed to meet with us the very next day, and measure the front of our condo for a customized white ironwork grid with requested additional attachments, so no 'prison-like' bars in this case. He was very professional, friendly and offered us a very reasonable deal for the work to cover our three large front Victorian windows. We happily gave him a downpayment and hoped to have the work scheduled ASAP. Unfortunately, our error was not running this by our HOA first, who were not okay with iron bars installed on the 1st floor of our 3-floor home, despite the breaking of our window facing the sidewalk. But it is what it is! This was admittedly our error in not seeking their approval for "common area" modifications, but Mr. Armando Sánchez graciously allowed us some time to try to work this out with our HOA. Unfortunately, the HOA put the kibosh on the bars, but Mr. Sánchez in the meantime had began the work customized to our windows, and even graciously offered to store this work for us for some time in case the HOA changed their mind. Our HOA responsibility and negotiations is our own oversight, but we wanted to HEARTILY recommend Mr. Armando Sánchez and Neza Iron Works for their professionalism, work ethic and honesty. If we could have gotten our HOA on board with our security solution, we would have eagerly added his professional work to the front of our condo. Mr. Armando Sánchez and Neza Iron Works are a credit to honest and talented workmanship, and if we ever have the opportunity to hire them again, we would do so in a heartbeat. Needed to bring an old residential gate up to code in SF. Multiple locksmiths and welders in SF didn't want to touch the job. The couple who would wanted 80% more than Neza Iron Works. Communications were a little disorganized, but they didn't need separate trips out to install the mesh and guard unlike everyone else I talked to; pictures of the existing gate with examples of what I was looking for were good enough. They arrived when they said they would, did the job with no issues, and charged a fair price for the amount of labor and materials. Can't beat that. read more
