Everything felt pretty organized. When I walked in, I was greeted and signed in without much delay. The waiting area wasn't packed, which helped ease some nerves. I was seen in a fair amount of time. The staff assisting the doctor was calm and did their part efficiently. The doctor asked me about different areas of my well being and actually seemed to care what I had to say. I liked how they made notes while still keeping eye contact, which not all doctors do. They talked about possible lifestyle changes and made sure I understood the reasoning behind everything. I didn't feel pushed to accept anything I didn't feel ready for. It felt like a balanced conversation. I do wish the office space had a bit more privacy when checking in, but that didn't affect the care. I left feeling more informed and more aware of some steps I need to take. I came to her with a serious issue on my front tooth caused by trauma--something that had left me hopeless and mistrustful of dentists. I've been seeing Dr. Habibi since 2007 and I trust her so much that I still come here even though I moved hundreds of miles away. Besides having a trusted dentist, the front desk staff is also amazing. Angela and the rest of the staff are so friendly and good at their jobs that now when we discuss front desk people at other jobs, we refer to them as "Angela", as in "I liked the doctor but they didn't have a good Angela" or "the Angela at the mechanic is amazing." My husband and I have been coming here for 6 or 7 years now and not sure why I haven't left a review or 2! Dr. Habibi and her staff are awesome and truly care about my dental health. Angela or Jackie would usually actually call (not robocalls) to remind me of appts. They also do text confirmations and the cool part is you can text/talk to them via text! I've had a full conversations with Angela via text! They are also very personable and remembers my 2 children and their names. I usually get Angie for cleaning & X-rays, and she's gentle yet thorough. tldr; Do NOT trust Dr. Habibi when she recommends you treatments, especially invisalign! Dr. Habibi pushed invisalign when I clearly did not need one (and forgot the reason I was on invialign in the first place in subsequent appointments), gave horrible advice, and left impossible-to-remove residue on my teeth after my invisalign period was over that have since yellowed and browned. More details: Dr. Habibi was my dentist for a couple years. I was having TMJ issues (jaw locking from time to time, bruxism, etc.) and she right away told me that it was because of teeth alignment issues. I was surprised and delighted, because I'd tried seeing jaw specialists before (who prescribed splints) to no avail. She recommended invialign for 6 months, and guaranteed that it would fix my jaw problems. I had extensive orthodontics when I was a teenager and have had straight teeth ever since, so the only reason I decided to go for invisalign was because she was so confident that it would fix my TMJ issues. When I started my invisalign treatment, Dr. Habibi gave me some very wrong advice, one of which was that I should NOT remove invisalign when I eat. I asked her if she was sure, because in the guide that came with the invisalign set, it told me to remove it before eating. She told me (again, with that absolute confidence she seems to take pleasure in exuding even for topics she doesn't know) I should ignore that guide. It only took me a couple of days trying to eat with invisalign in place that this was a ridiculous idea. A couple months in, during an appointment, she went over my invisalign progress and told me that everything was looking great, and that I should have the straight teeth I want very soon. At this point I was dumbfounded - I already had straight teeth. The entire reason I started invisalign was because I wanted to fix TMJ issues. After I was done with my invisalign treatment, which, surprise surprise, did NOTHING to fix my jaw problem, Dr. Habibi was not able to cleanly remove the tiny nodes installed onto your teeth for the invisalign to grab on to. These nodes have yellowed and browned. I have resented Dr. Habibi for the expensive and unnecessary treatment she made me go through ever since. read more

In terms of dental care, they definitely do a good job and I trust the *skills* of the hygienists and dentists there. However, I'm not going to be back due to Dr. Habibi's beside manner and not trusting her feedback any longer. I always leave feeling terrible about my dental health because she will say things like "If you don't floss more you're are going to get GIANT black holes in your teeth...is that what you want?" It's very frustrating because I take great care of my teeth and haven't had a single cavity in my 35+ years on earth, so why are you being dramatic and making me feel like my teeth are going to fall out every time I see you? I also decided to not go back because I no longer trust Dr. Habibi's opinion on what work needs to be done on my teeth. I got a root canal several months ago on a tooth damaged during orthodontic work, and I specifically asked the endodontist at the end of the procedure if I would need a filling or more expensive/invasive crown. I was told very clearly I only needed a filling because everything looked great. Yet when I go see Dr. Habibi a few weeks later for the filling she says "Oooo yep you'll definitely need a crown." I pushed her on it and told her what the endodontist said, and she backed off and just did the filling, but that was a huge loss of trust for me. read more

The staff is very friendly and Dr. Habibi gives good information and seems to be genuinely concerned about her patients. The dental hygienist is very quick, and that is a plus and a minus. With children it is hard for them to sit down for a long time so this is good, but I am wondering if the cleaning is as thorough. When I go to my dentist (a different dentist that I really trust and like), the cleaning and exam takes at least 45 minutes if not a full hour. With A&E, the cleaning and exam takes about 15 minutes. If the kids didn't get any cavities, then I would say the hygienists are doing a good job, but the kids do get cavities even though they brush and floss every day. read more

Front desk+Team: From the moment you walk in the front desk is always very attentive. They are extremely knowledgable in insurance benefits as well as other things like (FSA,HSA etc.) I always find it nice to see how far they are willing to go to make sure every patient is taken care of and stress free. If insurance denies a claim or is becoming a hassle THEY TAKE CARE OF IT! They really care about providing the upmost customer care service they can. Imagine going to a hotel and the check-in attendant takes your luggage upstairs, THEN unpacks and hangs up your clothes for you:) THAT IS THEM! They really go above and beyond for everyone. They all know what they are doing and that makes me feel comfortable. The assistants are always sweet and listen to my concerns. If I say I'm sensitive in an area I can be assured that the message has already been relayed to the entire staff team. The team work definitely shows in this office. Hygienist: BOTH hygienist are awesome. Every time I leave the office my teeth feel sooo clean, that I want to avoid eating for days afterwards :). SHE literally hands a mirror and explains to you what you are seeing. She's VERY conservative. She would much rather avoid doing $3000 procedure and instead do a $200 procedure. She cares and thats why I love her. She has so much experience that if she recommends something it's because she KNOWS the future outcome. She is a dental mom. Trust her expertise because she truly just wants you to have those teeth forever. For the last 25 years I was very insecure about my smile. I would never smile in pictures with my kids or grand kids. Recently Dr. Habibi was able to bring MY SMILE back. When I say my smile, I mean the one I had when I was in my 20's. :) (I'm 60 yrs old now). When I was younger a dentist told me I needed crowns for my small gaps in my front teeth. That dentist did OVERSIZED crowns which ended up looking like horse teeth. My entire face profile looked different and I completely lost hope in ever smiling again. When I started seeing Dr. Habibi I showed her my picture of me in my 20's. She totally could see that the crowns were too big for my teeth. I began Invisalign and 2 years later redid my crowns. Please LOOK at the picture I am posting. Everytime I switched dentists, the new dentist would redo the previous dentist's work so I decided to stick to Dr. Habibi for the past 12 or so years. However, ever visit I go to seriously makes me feel like I am my worst enemy and a person least interested in taking care of her teeth. She keeps repeating how i grind my teeth a lot, i dont floss, i dont do this, i dont do that....very depressing leaving the dental office. On top of that, with every cleaning came a - we need filling since you cracked your tooth or something else. Initially I listened to everything, got all my molars refilled, got my teeth aligned so I grind less but as others pointed out no matter what you do its just never good enough. Latest they wanted me to get a crown and after insurance the copay costs $800, that's ridiculous amount of money for 1 crown filling. I think finally am ready to let go of this place and find someone reasonable. Pros: Friendliest staff ever - Angela & Jackie are rockstars. Haven't seen better customer service at any other place. I've been going to this dentists office for approximately two years, or ~6 visits. Dr. Habibi is very technically capable. I had one cavity filled in this time, and she was extremely good with the Novocaine - I hardly felt a thing. However, this is an *aesthetic* dentistry, first and foremost. They do not take kindly to teeth that don't already look good. If you have any level of crowding, or didn't have braces as a kid (like me), you will not feel comfortable here. Do you brush twice a day and floss every day? Not enough. If you have near-perfect teeth, or want perfect teeth, this is your place. If you don't, find another dentist. My wife has extremely good teeth and she's still on a 4-month cleaning schedule. Some people love the vibe here but I've never felt more anxious about dental visits before I came to this place. And my search for the perfect dentist continues....! I went for a consult visit in order to see if this would hopefully become my regular dentist office. Verdict: Less than satisfied... :-( Pros: Really friendly doctor! She took me seriously, paid attention to the fact that I only seek medical advice (not cosmetic), and explained all steps of the examination patiently and extensively. She took her time while still being efficient, and didn't rush through the exam. Cons: Overall kinda dingy. The office is located in a small and somewhat run-down strip mall. The office isn't clean (a lot of debris on the floor, both in the waiting room and the examination "stalls"). The patients are treated in stalls/cubicles, not separate rooms. Basic furniture such as the examination chairs, etc., seemed really old. In order to see what's going on, I had to hold a hand mirror myself. Kinda hard to do when someone is poking at your gums and you're nervous as hell to begin with. This might seem stupid, but if they can't invest in those standard overhead mirrors, why should I trust that they're up-to-date with their other equipment? I didn't feel like I was in a professional doctor's office. I shall continue my search! I still have faith! :-) read more

I have to update my review knocking off two stars for what I think could be a serious issue. I really did think my dental cleaning was good at this office-- not the best I have ever had, but certainly thorough. No complaints there. The complaint has to do with the diagnosis of non-existent cavities. We moved from mountain view to Hawaii almost a year ago. Just before we moved, my daughter and I had teeth cleanings at Dr Habibi's office. At my cleaning, they told me I had 3 cavities starting-- still in the watch phase, but they were going to need attention soon. For my daughter, they said she had 3 cavities needing to be filled right away. They didn't have openings before we left, and I couldn't get her into the dentist until just last week (she's a college student). At the dental appt here, her X-rays showed perfect teeth, no cavities at all. Same for me. No "watch" areas, no soft spots, my dreaded gum readings were WAY better (all 3s and 2s vs 4s and 5s). If you do choose to go to this dentist, seek a second opinion should they tell you you need any dental work. 3 stars for good cleanings, but I can not recommend this clinic anymore given the misleading diagnosis of cavities for my daughter. Cavities that need to be filled don't just go away after a year of college... read more

I absolutely hate going to the dentist!!! But I have finally found a dental office that I love!!! Dr. Habibi and Dr. Mary are amazing!! Also all the staff are amazing and nice! There was a point where I didn't go to the dentist for literally years due to no dental insurance and due to my fear of the dentist and such... So I only went because I started having real bad toothaches. They set me up for an appointment that very same day and after a quick examination, Dr. Habibi informed me that she is going to have to perform a root canal. I'm not going to lie.. I cried. Yes. As a grown woman I cried in the dentist's chair. The staff there was so nice in trying to calm me down and letting me know that they are going to take care of it and explained the importance of flossing/etc and coming in regularly for check-ups to avoid major procedures like that. Since then (2008 I think), I haven't gone to any other dentist and don't plan on it. And I'm proud to say that I'm not deathly afraid of the dentist anymore. :) read more

I cannot believe I'm giving a dentist 5 stars, but honestly it's the first time in my 33 years that I don't dread coming to the dentist. Dr. Habibi is awesome - she always makes me laugh and makes the whole experience pleasant. The front desk staff is SUPER helpful and always very friendly. One of the women there has gone above and beyond to help me understand my dental coverage and make sure I'm using it to my best benefit, and paying as little as possible out of pocket. Decent selection of magazines (hey, that's a consideration!), ample parking, and they stick to your appointment schedule with an 85% success rate. Even if your teeth are not the picture of health, they don't make you feel bad about it. THey just help you get better, better, better. I hope I can always stay at this dentist office!! I started my Invisalign in April and I couldn't be happier, especially since they had been sitting in here office for 2 years (b/c I moved away) but when I came back, she put them on and the fit! I'm on tray 12 with 32 to go and I can totally see the difference. Ivisalign works if you follow the directions you are given and so many people think that you can take them off for hours on end and then complain that they don't work. I will post pictures soon of my process. Just realized that I've been seeing Dr. H since 1998!!!!!!! and since then never had another, it would be like cheating! Note to self: Don't wait 2 years to get a tooth cleaning you slacker. I found this dentist on Yelp! I can honestly say that it was the best experience I had at a dental office. The staff was super friendly, had a great sense of humor (which really put me at ease), and took time to explain EVERYTHING to me. They showed me how to properly floss and brush my tongue ("it's like a broom! not a vacuum!"). I was terrified of this appointment. It really helped that the hygienist told me every step to expect. "I'm going to do this, then this, then the dentist will come in and do this, then this." Makes me feel more comfortable if I know what's coming. The really disturbing thing was how Dr. Habibi showed me how bad my teeth were. She sticks the pokey thing in your gums and if there is too much give, that's bad! Your tooth should be there! There was so much give in my gums, she let go of the pokey thing and it was standing on its own in my mouth! Holy sh*t that was crazy! This was the first time that I felt like I was being taken care of as an individual. At the end of the visit, I really did want to take better care of my teeth! That just make you feel that way. So happy with all of my experiences here. I've been a patient for a year and a half, so have had 3 cleanings so far and just got done my 4th visit which was to replace my permanent bottom retainer. I decided after so many good visits, it was time to write a review. Dr. Habibi is wonderful! She is professional, passionate, knowledgable and very sweet. On my last visit (the permanent retainer) she listened to all of my concerns and took the time to make sure the process was smooth, quick and as comfortable as possible. The hygienists are all very knowledgable, encouraging of good oral hygiene (not aggressive or mean) and all are very nice. There were some other comments about the location of the office and it's looks. Yeah, it's not in a "bourgey" complex or have thousands of dollars worth of decor, but the waiting area and work areas are very clean. I can't tell the difference between an instrument that's 8 years old v. brand new, but if it works and is clean/sanitary, I'm not sure it matters. All around, very pleasant experience. read more

So far, so good! I was going to another dentist in MV that gave me worries about how they operated and especially the bad reviews I read about them on Yelp. So I entered "dentist" on Yelp and went with the best reviewed dentist I saw - which was Dr. Habibi. Let me first say that I have a terrible situation with my teeth - and add my fear of dentists (I've had nothing but bad experiences) - and I'm a mess of a patient. But she was very calming and reassuring throughout my first visit. She confirmed what I already knew - two wisdom teeth needed to come out. But she said one of them needed to be "immediately". That, of course, freaked me out...but she kept me calm and communicated everything that was going on. Here's the shocker: It was incredibly painless! I can't BELIEVE how easy and simple it was. It was so easy, in fact, I was begging her to do the other one "just to get it over with". But she wanted to err on the side of caution and see how I handle the pain, medication, bleeding, etc. So I went back in today and had the second one removed...again, easy and pain-free. I would rank the worst pain I had over the time frame as a "5" on a scale of 1-10. And that's nothing compared to the horror stories I've heard of having wisdom teeth removed. Anyway - I have been singing Dr. Habibi's praises since. I still have a lot more work to be done, but she's been very reassuring about the entire process and has completely calmed my fears about visiting the dentist. I really like going here, everyone in this office is exceptionally nice.... which is a huge plus to me when it involves the dentist. They are always very accommodating to my schedule. I found them on yelp actually when I thought I was having a tooth emergency right when I changed job/insurance carriers and had not yet found a new dentist. They saw me that day! Everyone else I called told me no because I was not a regular patient. Dr. Habibi has a strong focus on preventative care. I have never been to a dentist that taught me to take such good care of my teeth. Before going to Aesthetics & Essentials, I hadn't thought to use a proxy brush after flossing, or wear a mouth guard at night. She even suggested some vitamins I could take. I can tell my teeth and gums are in much better condition since going there. She is also very funny and kind- and gentle with your teeth! As a bonus, the office staff are very responsive to email and will give you courtesy calls to remind you of appointments/follow up with your visits. Overall, would definitely recommend. read more
