Avoid Zen Dental Studio -- They Don't Care About Your Privacy I was a patient at Zen Dental Studio for over a year, and I'm furious about how they handled a serious security issue. I received a phishing email sent from the dentist's own account, pressuring me to sign into my Google account to "view" it -- a classic scam designed to steal my credentials. Alarmed, I called the front desk to confirm whether it was legitimate. They casually admitted it was spam and that they were "aware of it." That was it. No apology. No warning to patients. No email alerting customers that their personal data may have been compromised. And worst of all, not a shred of sympathy or concern from the front desk -- just a flat, dismissive "we know." Think about that: their account was clearly compromised, my contact information was being used to phish me, and they couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge that their patients' privacy was at risk. If they're this careless about a known breach, what else are they ignoring? Your personal information is not safe here. Unless you want your data floating around the internet for scammers to exploit, do NOT trust this place with it. Avoid Zen Dental Studio. read more

I've only had one good dentist ever and it made me sad to have to switch dental clinics because we moved. He was an older experienced dentist but while he did good work solo, now that I've been at Zen it feels like I've been introduced to a new world of dentistry. My husband and I were hesitant at first to pick Zen because as a chain, we thought the staff wouldn't care to uphold the reputation nor our teeth. I went to 2 dental offices prior to Zen after my switch and the first doctor was so off-putting, recommended surgery for idky but I got two second opinions including Zen who said they didn't see a need. Then the last dental office had a different doctor and hygienist every single time I went, it was such a hit and miss experience. I expect changing dental hygienist but not so much doctors that often. I had Sang today and she was GREAT, so gentle with my teeth, informative, and caring. She often checked in how I was doing and gave me opportunities to ask questions. In all my trips to Zen, every dental hygienist has been very friendly and informative. I also had Dr. An for all my visits and he has also been gentle and informative. I honestly feel like I learn something new about my teeth every visit. Oral care is VERY important to me because I used to have bad teeth due to poor dental experiences and I watched my parents go through a lot of dental trauma. They actly also refer back to your previous visits and concerns and see if you improve the following visit. The technology is also very updated that my previous favorite dental didn't have. I've been going to Zen Dental Studio for 2 years, ever since it opened. I actually passed by this place when it was still under construction and was super excited when it opened and saw that my dental insurance was in network. Not only is it the most aesthetic and calming dental office you will see but also it has great service. Dr. An explains everything in detail to you, and when he fills cavities, he also takes photos to show you after the procedure in terms of where the problematic area was, what it looked like after they cleaned the area, and how the filling looks. The rest of the staff are friendly and great as well. All of the dental hygienists I've had have made me feel comfortable while cleaning my teeth. My most recent one, Trisha, was great and I loved chatting with her. If you ever have to get a filling done, they let you watch TV, including Netflix! The position of the TV is interestingly located on the top of the ceiling, but it's great being able to watch an episode of The Great British Bake Off, while getting your filling done. They also give you a little goodie bag, usually once a year. It includes floss, toothpaste, and toothbrush, which all seem to be more on the sustainable side. In my most recent visit, it seems like they're really doing well, since there were more patients than my previous visits, so it may be harder to book a visit within a short amount of time. I can't speak so much about pricing since most of my visits are either fully or partially covered by insurance, but all I can say is that the price feels reasonable (it was less expensive than another dentist I went to previously in Mountain View, which I did not have a good experience with anyways). read more

This will officially be my main dentist! The decor is spot on- the lobby reminds me of some minimalist/luxury hotels in the Bay Area. Each room is comfy and really does make you feel zen. Once they laid my chair back all the way, there's a TV right above me and I can use their Apple TV to surf any show I'd want to watch while they service my teeth. They also run down EVERYTHING after they X-Ray and it'll make you cognizant on how to take care of your teeth/gum health better. If you have to wait for a while, there's a small desk area where you can work on your laptop. Cute cloth goodie bags too after your appointment. read more

My wife and I are glad we made the switch to zen dental, we've only had good dental experiences since our switch. Customer service is always top notch here and even the waiting area is nice. Most of the time I have Sang and Dr. An and I never have a complaint. Both are often checking in and giving you the opportunity to ask questions throughout the visit. They also provide you education about your teeth. I also like how zen dental finds small improvements to make the experience more comfortable - this time they had lavender heated masks. You can still use the goggles if you want. Overall, I'm usually very happy and impressed with zen dental. read more

As a new patient, booking was very easy although I opted not to provide some sensitive information and provided that in office. I received a text and email after booking and a reminder text leading up to my appointment. Parking was confusing but I figured out it was downstairs but decided to park on the street (on a weekday morning there wasn't many). The team provided outstanding care and service-- from the front office, dental assistants and dentist. After my initial cleaning, I returned for a filling replacement. Both sessions were done by Dr. Steven An and he was kind, accommodating and welcoming. Unfortunately my plan will not be applicable for the new year mid-2026 but I plan to have my next/last service (via cleaning) before it expires. I've been going to Zen Dental for over a year and the care has been exceptional. Everyone here is so capable and compassionate! I especially love the way Dr. Lin explains her procedures - she's clear and communicative, and she's also conservative in her treatment approach which I appreciate. And she'll tell me if a particular plan won't work and why and then suggest other options without any pressure. I totally trust her with my care. The assistants here are lovely as well! He was incredibly detailed and took the time to explain exactly what he was doing at every step, which really helped ease my nerves. You can tell he takes pride in his work. Everything was done carefully and with a lot of precision. What I appreciated most was how comfortable he made the whole experience. He constantly checked in to make sure I wasn't in any pain, and that kind of care goes a long way, especially during dental work. I went to Zen with such optimism and excitement since my neighbor highly recommended them. I couldn't remember her name until given the option in the survey, since I didn't meet a doctor until it was almost time to leave. Dr. Christina Lin didn't spend much time with me nor did she seem interested in being there at all. She was rushing to get back to whatever she was doing in the other room. I was disappointed that my cleaning was not done by a dentist. My teeth didn't feel clean like they normally do after a cleaning. I wasn't even offered mouthwash to rinse with. I had to ask for some and she said it wasn't necessary. When she did appear briefly, Dr. Christina Lin made some very quick assumptions (likely due to the little time we spent together), on why I have a new cavity. She didn't consider that new cavities are one of the symptoms caused by dry mouth in menopause. I am in surgical menopause and mentioned as much. I'm sure the dental assistant that did my cleaning didn't think it was important to mention, since she was really young and likely not a menopause specialist, and I don't present as old enough to be in menopause. I haven't had a cavity in 35 plus years. When discussing options for solving the cavity and root canal, Dr. Christina Lin didn't mention any remineralization options. However, I did ask and she dismissed it without delay. It's weird because Zen Dental Studio gave out Rise Well remineralizing toothpaste and floss with hydroxyapatite as I left. When Dr. Christina Lin saw my hesitation to her quick and brief responses, she incorrectly assumed it was because I was scared of the root canal procedure and said not to be afraid. I told her my concerns were not about the procedure, but the longterm outcomes of root canals. I also shared that I was interested in regenerative endodontics. She quickly dismissed this and said there are no regenerative methods. I followed up asking her if she was sure and she said that she was. I asked about fixing the cavity and she said it can wait. Maybe this is the level of service they provide when they are busy, but it wasn't at all what the reviews say the experience is. The reviews are sponsored/fake. I've been going to Zen Dental Studio for almost a year and have had an amazing experience. I hadn't been to a dentist in probably over a decade before I finally went last year and I am so grateful to have found Zen Dental. I was honestly ashamed of my teeth, they were a state, and had kept putting it off, but from my first visit we made a plan and tackled the issues one by one to get my mouth healthy again. The hygienists I've had, in particular, have been so kind and helpful. I have not had anyone judge me, everyone has been so helpful in getting me back on track with my oral health. Also, special shout out to Brooke who has always greeted me by name, remembers who I am and is so welcoming and kind. If you want to watch Netflix you can, I prefer to just chill - sometimes with a heated eye mask. From being terrified and ashamed, I actually feel super chill about going to the dentist now. Today, I went to revisit Zen Dental Studio for my 2nd time in this clinic. Usually I have dental visit anxiety, as I do not enjoy the grinding sounds and the pain associated with teeth cleaning.My dental hygienist, Tricia, was very kind in listening to my concerns and toothache. She set me up to have the overhead monitor and headphones so I didn't have to think about or hear the teeth cleaning apparatus.She was very gentle, and I can tell she really cares about my oral hygiene, as she even gave me a step-by-step demo on how to floss my back molars (my pain and problem spots).Dr. Lin was also very encouraging about my future orthodontic plans and has always been such a pleasant dentist to engage with about my care plan.I am really happy being a patient here, and I've never felt any concerns or anxiety going in, and I am all smiles when I am coming out. The office is gorgeous and looks like it was expensive to decorate. The tech who usually does my cleanings is very nice, and gentle. No complaints there. I had a filling here for the first time, and while it was fairly painless, what struck me is the doctor and assistant both had a fairly cold/reserved bedside manner. I did appreciate that they have pediatric mouth retractors because my jaw really felt uncomfortable with the adult one. I watched an episode of the Glory on Netflix while Dr. An worked on me), the staff were great, and Dr. An was kind, friendly and professional. I had cleaning and a filling done at ZDS during the same week. I was surprised how comfortable I felt during both procedures (no pain, didn't feel like I want to bolt out of the chair), it was easy.
