So happy my daughter found this place! I called Smiles Dental about a week ago and spoke to Rhina. I was in a bit of a bind because I needed some dental work done, but it was so close to the end of the year and not sure if I could get it done. Rhina was awesome - she was so helpful looking up my insurance, finding me appointments and fitting me in so that my appts could be done before year end. She went above and beyond!! When I had my first appointment I saw Dr Erdogan. Also really positive impression with her professionalism and interaction. She explained her assessment of what she thought I needed, and I was able to schedule my appointment the next week. Throughout the appointment, Dr Erdogan was awesome - explaining every step of the process and always checking into make sure I was ok. Her assistant, Maricel? Was also really good. My son had a tooth-cleaning appointment at Smiles Dental Care today. Dr. Yasini performed the cleaning, which lasted about 13 minutes. She stated that everything looked fine and confirmed that the cleaning was complete. However, I noted that the cleaning process usually involves multiple steps, and even though I was present, I did not observe her performing them. She explained that because she was working with a helper, she was able to finish more quickly. Based on this experience, I recommend scheduling with a hygienist instead of a doctor if your sole intention is a thorough cleaning. Well, you can stop your search because this is the place you want to go. I've been looking for a dentist for over a year now. I get really anxious and also have a few things that make it challenging, like extremely sensitive teeth and TMD. It felt like going to a spa managed by your closest friends! I don't think I've had a cleaning that was so gentle and efficient or a team of folks to work with. Katie, mu hygienist, was top notch. FABULOUS WORK! I got referred here by my colleagues and been with them two years and counting. I had a "simple" filling to be done and at first, Dr. Deleon was having issues but tried so diligently the whole hour to work through it. Unfortunately, Dr. Peri Eilers has moved out of the country years ago but Dr. Chan has successfully performed a root canal as well as a cap and filling on me and everything went well :) She is extremely knowledgeable and know that you're in good hands with her. One minor negative is that I needed my filling to be slightly sanded down (had to come back in for this for a free follow up visit) as I had some minor jaw discomfort although that is probably a subjective thing. To end my review on a positive note, I love how dr. Chan remembers the details of my past visits even if I haven't been there for months. Very disappointed with the whitening service and quality of service in general. I'm leaving a yelp review as we speak as well as a complaint to the California Dental Association. This is the worst whitening service I have received in my entire life. My teeth are yellow, especially the ones at the bottom. I was told they couldn't go further due to some recession but (1) there is significant clearance to whiten and (3) my teeth on the too have no recession and I still didn't get a full whitening. Additional, I needed to ask the provider to please explain to me what was stated in the forms I signed. She gave a very brief and low quality explanation of the service. I had an upcoming major surgery where I am not supposed to be on pain meds, or anytype of medication, all of a sudden I have a cracked tooth, that I know will not last in my mouth for 3 months, which is my recovery time for the surgery I was having. Dr. Hall worked to find me someone in his office that could take care of that tooth. She was amazing! Never fun, at the dentist especially when it mean having a tooth pulled, but they got me in, and it was almost painless in the office. Major headache for the rest of day, but great results. I felt this update was merited after I had significant (to me) work done by Dr. Janice Chou yesterday. Root planing followed by two extractions in one visit and I can honestly say, hands down, the most compassionate and gentle dental experience I've had in 51 years. Susie was amazing as well, assisting with great care and kindness, even providing a warm fuzzy blanket and a fun movie to watch during my procedure! Additionally, a shout out to Christina in the office for coordinating with my insurance and providing detailed aftercare information for me. Was initially referred by a co-worker to see Dr. Chan but by the time I actually got around to making an appointment, Dr. Chan no longer works at the practice and I made an appt with Dr. Mateen for a cleaning/overall check up. The staff at check-in and check out were friendly and helpful Both Dr. Mateen and the assistant were super nice and would check in periodically during the cleaning process to make sure I was doing ok. Yelp good reviews brought me to this dental office but my experience is not that good. I did a checkup with Dr. Hall, he suggested teeth cleaning and tooth filling. Michelle did the teeth cleaning. There was nothing wrong in the process but after getting home, one of my back teeth kept bleeding for the whole night. I came back on another day for tooth filling, Dr. Hall did fine, but his assistant didn't take care when she put the rubber in my mouth and accidentally hurt a surface area in my mouth, still feel painful after several days. Also she didn't take care when she use the suction and I got choked multiple times during tooth filling. After completed, I washed my mouth. That assistant was not patient at all and kept pushing me to stop washing and make the next appointment. Several reasons I don't like this dental office: 1, dentists are not very professional. Michelle should do better in preventing bleeding. 2, assistant is not patient and rude when she helped tooth filling. Unfortunately I forgot her name. I felt I was not respected. 3, different dentists helped me each time. They have different skill levels. I was not able to make appointment with the same dentist for all the treatments due to their schedule conflicts. read more

The staff was very nice and professional, I think my hygienist who did my teeth cleaning did an excellent job. She was very gentle but I could tell afterwords she did a good cleaning! This was my first visit to Smiles and I loved the experience. I generally don't visit dentists that often but I might have to make an exception here. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I've not been a regular flosser but I found out today that the times I've been flossing, I've been doing it wrong. Who knew right! I was not given sound medical advice or provided options regarding cracks in my very back molar #31. Cracks in that tooth were identified. This was not news to me as I heard this from my previous dentist who retired. It was determined then that we just watch it since I have never experienced any sort of pain or discomfort. I start seeing dentists at this Mountain View Smiles location and the push to "fix it" was constant. I finally agreed to their suggestion of a new crown. But Dr Nguyen truly hit a nerve and I was in pain and sensitivity for a solid month. Getting a root canal was never discussed until I was in tremendous pain and discomfort. I went in two separate times to discuss my pain and discomfort before I was told that I may need a root canal by an Endodontist, and now have to pay out of pocket ($1252) because now I've used up all my insurance for the year doing all kinds of so called necessary procedures at Smiles Dental MV. Bottom line, I did not get the right medical attention or advice. I did not get all the information to make the best decisions for dental care. I feel cheated and scammed. I went in healthy and happy and came out distressed and suffering, AND shelled out my own money for this. BUT! I was told they saved me, my tooth and in the end I should just thank them. I don't think so. There are other options out there folks! Go find other CARE, operative word here - CARE. Find other competent, caring dental professionals. The good - Clean facility. Parking is hit and miss. Staff is friendly and polite. You get to watch a movie while getting your teeth cleaned. The bad (after you meet with the dentist, ours was Janice?) - kept talking at me, telling me about south East Asians and their dental issues, then asking me if that made sense (found that tone to be a bit condensing, she wasn't explaining rocket fuel mixtures). There is this notion of "preventative dental" so if they see a trace of a cavity, they are going to recommend drilling it out and filling it. I've never been to dental school, but I don't agree with it and after the second year of listening to Janice? Telling me "take an X-ray to 12 dentists and you will have 12 different recommendations (followed by more south East Asian facts) " - I changed dentists. read more

I'll give you the Good, the Bad & the Ugly: First for the positives: Smiles Dental has a fantastic staff. The receptionist is really sweet and is always smiling, attentive and very helpful. Dr. Peri Eilers is also very nice. Some of the other *permanent* staff are really pleasant as well (not interns). The Indian dental assistant does a real good job as well. I had enjoyed going to Smiles Dental for regular dental check up and clean-up, but stopped last year. Here is why: The problem starts out when they refer you to Dr. William S. Hall for an Invisalign (teeth braces) treatment. I was told that it would cost me $4800 for about 2 years of crowding treatment (one tooth slightly overlaps the other). I politely declined the treatment, as I don't really have any gaps in my teeth and the tooth overlap ("crowding") is barely noticeable. After rejecting the offer, I was bombarded with emails, snail mail and telephone calls to sign up for the Invisalign procedure. I politely kept declining. Next time I went for my 6 monthly clean-up, I was assigned a new "intern" (not any of the regular permanent dental assistants). This new lady "intern" had a mission: to file out my bottom front teeth and make gaps in them. Since I had been going to Smiles Dental, I barely noticed that she spent less time cleaning the teeth, and more time filing out my bottom 2 teeth. Once the process was done I just said thanks and walked out the door (as usual). Once I reached home and saw what was done to my teeth I could not believe the horror! The idea was for her to make gaps in my teeth so I would be forced to go for the Invisalign treatment! What a bunch of crap! Is this how you treat a long-time patient? Needless to say, I stopped going there after that incident, and am considering pressing charges. The Bottom Line: Please steer clear of the "free Invisalign estimate" as that would ultimately hurt you in the end! read more

I started going here because I knew one of the dentists working there. They are very friendly, very professional, and very convenient to me as well. As typical with a lot of healthcare providers these days, they are very very insurance driven. They are constantly trying to figure out the ways to max out the insurance alottment that you have from year to year. So... this could be a good thing... or a bad thing... depending on how you view it. They are persistent in trying to get you to schedule your next appointments, and it's always a fine line between whether you feel like they are doing it for your good, or for the insurance money. I know they need to run it as a business, but they could be more subtle about it as well. I have since stopped going to William Hall DDS/Smiles Dental in favor of another doctor, but I really didn't have any bad experiences here, nor anything that really differentiates them, or makes me want to keep going to them either. read more

Looking for a great Dentist? ---Seek no more. For years, I used to brush my teeth with my car keys and rinse my mouth with gasoline. I had terrible teeth and offensive breathe. I couldn't figure out why no one wanted to date me. Since my visit to Smiles Dental, the dentists here pulled out the big guns and turned my grenade grill, into a masterpiece the likes of which could only be described as "Sculpted by God himself". Nowadays, there are so many women trying to get close to me, that I have to carry a big wooden stick to beat them all off of me with. Sheesh! As someone who fears going to the dentist I was not looking forward to my trip. I waited about 1 minute and then they began taking care of my stuff. Very efficient, a dental station for everything, so they can handle everything quickly. Nice change from my last dentist where they would be moving junk around and you felt like you were walking around death traps constantly. Got three trips worth of things done in one shot and everyone was friendly and considerate. This place doesn't waste your time and does great work. Also is very modern looking and clean. Office people were great and the Dr. took the time to show me what he was doing so I was at ease with everything. I have found my new dentist! read more
