I visited this location recently because I was suffering from a sore throat which later turned out to be allergy related. As soon as I arrived, the receptionist looked at the clock and informed me that the wait time to see a doctor was a bit long since there were 5 patients ahead of me. The time was also 7:45 pm and the center was supposed to close at 8:00 pm. I got the impression that the receptionist didn't want to be bothered by having to check in another patient, but I opted to begin the process anyway. When the receptionist learned I had a sore throat, she informed me that I was required to wear a mask. After waiting over 25 minutes in the waiting area and observing no one being called in, I decided to leave and visit another urgent care center in Woburn that was open until 9:00 pm. It was so much better than this one and the quality of care was top notch! read more

I had to go to this clinic because I thought I lost the hearing in my right ear. From the receptionist to the nurse and doctor they were nothing but kind and curtious, it was a little embarrising because my ear was so clogged, but they took the time explained to me what they were going to do and what they did. The service for my Covid 19 testing was deplorable. Even though I had an appointment other cars that came in after me were taken first. I understand waiting but there was no system in place. I understand everyone is working hard but this was a terrible experience. Also I never received a call or email about my results. I should have been notified within 2 hours because it was a rapid test. No one picked up the phone. I had to drive down there the next morning for the results. read more

Was the only one there when I walked in and waited 45 min to be told they wouldn't treat me.. super convenient after they took my money and wouldn't refund. The Dr. stuck her head in and said she's not treating me after overhearing the symptoms I had from the PA. The PA was super sweet and tried to help me but she was told to stand down. The Dr is cold and couldn't of been more rude. They then tried to make me sign a paper saying they're not responsible for me leaving even though THEY would not treat ME what so ever and told me to leave... my father in law and wife were in shock. I can't wait to see what they charge my insurance for NOT reading my complaint before charging me my co-pay. Full Scam. I went to another Urgent Care and was treated with respect. Never got a refund. I was seen at the Stoneham location four days ago. I was given an antibiotic for a sinus infection. I am feeling no better so I called this morning at 8:15 I left my name and phone number and was told a provider would call me back. Throughout the day I called several times choosing various options, hoping to get someone to answer my call. All of the mailboxes were full and I was not able to leave a message. I did not receive a call back. This place sends emails and texts looking for referrals and There's no way I'll give them one. read more

Back in October, I had injured my shoulder and had limited ROM. I had been to this place before for dumb little things like strep and ear infections. I knew I could get Xrays here and thought I could maybe not wait 100 years like I would at the ER. I was in a lot of pain and just wanted a reason for it. I went in and was seen quickly. I was diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis and told to take advil. I calmly, if defeatedly said " Ok" and the response was " you're awfully calm about not getting pain killers" AH HA. They thought I was drug seeking, even though I haven't been there in like 2 years, I was in actual tears. Cool . At 2 AM I legit couldn't stand the pain anymore and drove myself over to the ER... turns out "Adhesive Capsulitis" is a slow onset, and mine started about 24 hours earlier. After doing an exam... bursitis and possible torn rotator cuff. It feels a little bit like to get a dx they just put all the symptoms into WebMD and hope for the best... read more

I have been in the medical field for over 15 years there is no way I would ever treat a patient the way the treated me. License on the line or not... I came here the other day and was really impressed with this Urgent Care. To the ladies at the front desk to the MA who took my vitals and the x-ray technician and the NP who treated me were all professional and caring. The place was clean and tidy. The wait wasn't bad at all seeing how it's flu season and they were busy but I was in there for an hour which is not bad at all. I left feeling like I was in good hands getting great care here was very pleased that I chose this place. read more

Over the past 6 months, our family has used this clinic at least 4 times. My husband went in for back pain, I went in for a 3rd degree burn and later for an upper respiratory infection, and my teen daughter went in for a respiratory infection that turned out to be pneumonia. In all 4 cases we were very pleased with the front desk, healthcare providers and our treatment. Be aware that Sundays are their busiest day which I found out today but even so my wait was exactly what they estimated it would be. read more

Stay Away. When I arrived, I witnessed a man returning paperwork he was given. It was for another patient-not him! Pretty scary thing to see. When I checked in, the first thing I was told is about the 1 hour wait time! Not the most pleasant greeting. Once I was through with the doctor, I decided not to use the cane that they suggested. I left it on the exam room bed. I was assured that it wouldn't be on my account. I just received the bill for the cane that I left there! Now I have to dispute it with their billing department. What happened to follow through? What happened to correctly posting details to records? I didn't take the cane, so why is it on the bill? I'd rather suffer than return to this branch. My uncle just went here for a terrible ear infection. The doctor told him he was grinding his teeth while sleeping and prescribed muscle relaxers!! He went to his primary two days later, and he had a horrible ear infection. His primary dr was shocked that the other doctor didn't confirm it. They also told my mother she broke her ankle. She followed up with an orthopedic, and it was not broken. This lace is terrible. read more

Absolute worst experience from the minute I walked in, to the last minute walking out. The doctor may have been able to help me but she, as well as, the staff was completely rude and overly judgmental. (The one star is given for the blonde receptionist that took over for the other rude receptionist) The doctor was the worst part of the experience. She kept reprimanding me(30 year old women) and told me I was not listening repeatedly. As well as being talked over every time, I just tried to ask her a question. Maybe I am under the wrong impression as far as what urgent care facility are suppose to offer for temporary care. I was humiliated and waste of my time and money. Don't go to Stoneham, urgent care. I've had 3 good experiences at this location. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Wait time has always been minimal (in and out in less than an hour everytime). The doctors and PAs were knowledgeable and they follow up with you after a few days. The facility is fairly new, easily accessible and very clean. I will continue to go there when needed and highly recommend. read more

Relatively new to the area and had some issues. It was between The Minute Clinic and AFC, after checking out their easy to navigate website I decided to go to AFC. I walked into an empty waiting room and was greeted by Jill and I think Heather, both were welcoming and helpful. When i was admitted to the Exam room I met the PA-C, Shannon McCormick. To say she was awesome would be an understatement. She was very knowledgable, helpful and when i spoke with her it was like speaking with a friend. Called at 11 AM to find out the wait time and it was about 35 min. I was told that 2 pm should be a slower time. So, I listened and reserved a slot online...20-25 min wait. Great. Arrive to find out only one provider is working today. You didn't think to share this on the phone earlier? Proceeded to wait 90 minutes to be seen. Do not recommend this place. read more

As a single parent, I really don't have time to be injured or sick. So when those unfortunate events arise for either myself or my child, we turn to AFC. The staff is extremely friendly, the service is fast, and the doctors are exceptionally knowledgeable and compassionate. We've been in for minor things like a back injury and more serious events like pneumonia. Each time we've walked away with a fast treatment plan and were able to heal more quickly because of the efficient process and thorough exams. read more

Brought my 3 yr old son here as I thought he had an ear infection. The entire staff was awesome. The receptionist was very professional and kept us up to speed on when we would be seen. Pretty quickly we were admitted into a room and the nurse came in to check vitals and get some additional info. He was great with my son and told us that the Dr would be in shortly. They happened to have an emergency there and 2 other nurses came in to check on us and apologize for the delay in seeing the dr. They each asked if we needed anything as well. Finally the Dr came and she was wonderful as well. Great bedside manner with my son and quickly and thoroughly went through all her tests. All in all this was a great experience and I will certainly use them more often. read more

I feel so lucky to have this urgent care unit so close to home. I had a pretty bad ankle sprain, and normally with something like that I'd think about the hassle of the ER and just sort of go, "well, let's see what happens." My wife reminded me about this convenient urgent care just a few blocks away and they blew me away. Paperwork took under 2 minutes, they took my insurance copay (just an office visit!) and I was talking to the doctor within 15 minutes. They did the xrays on site, again, immediately, analyzed them, and let me know the status of my injury. Every staff member was not only professional but genuinely delightful, the facility is sparkling clean and modern, and all said I was in and out in under an hour from pulling up to driving away. It's obviously an urgent care and not a hospital, so don't show up with a brain hemorrhage, but for minor illness and injury this will be my first thought every time. read more

Takes 5 times as long as the screen says! Worst experience I have ever had! Have throbbing pain in my ear, waiting two hours, did not even see a doctor (only an assistant) and they told me to take Sudafed.... they gave me attention for about 3 mins. Terrible. read more

My daughter went here for help because she was sick. Left within 15 because they told her they couldn't help her and she had to go to the emergency room. She was charged over $400 for the visit, insurance paid half. The doctor who came into her room was there for about 5 minutes, touch her stomach and told to her to go the ER. Terrible service and a rude and awful billing department to makes threats about collection agencies. She went the end of July and got a nasty pre collections notice. read more

Took my wife here late on a Sunday night for cutting her finger. She was seen immediately, even before actually completing the paperwork. They have two iPads with kids games downloaded onto them, several TVs and a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and my wife was extremely happy with the experience. Taking her to the ER would have taken hours and would have been miserable for everyone involved. Very happy to have this service nearby. read more

I had upper respiratory problems. I was greeted very cordially when I signed in. The nurse promptly checked my BP, temp. Etc. She was very personable. And I didn't have a long wait for the doctor. He was pleasant and thorough. He figured out my problem quickly and put my mind at ease. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I thought the parking lot was a bit small. I think I took the last parking place when I arrived. Otherwise, conditions were very nice, clean and comfortable. read more

This place is awful. very unprofessional and they don't care about others peoples timeframe. They make you set up an appointment and then tell you to wait in the car for over a half hour to get seen or even to get talked to? That's very unprofessional. I had an appointment set up that I took the time out of my day for at 2:20. I didn't get seen till 315. like I said earlier I get if they are busy but then don't offer appointments to people if the nurses can't follow up on the time they gave there patient. This place is unprofessional, and to be honest it seems that they don't even know what they are talking about. I have a horrible cough and pain in my chest and all the did was listen to my breathing and feel my sinus'? how does that even tell me what I have. it simply doesn't. Stellar care at AFC Urgent Care Stoneham!! We have been there a few times in an emergency (unfortunately!) and they have always seen us quickly and given us incredible care. We've gone there for sickness over holiday weekends, injury, stitches, and a even a broken bone for me! They were excellent with our kids for their respective visits. The location is clean and convenient and more importantly, the providers are extremely knowledgeable, calm and caring. They truly treat the whole patient, giving great advice. The billing is straightforward and I only owed a regular copay with my insurance. We feel so lucky to have them in the neighborhood. read more

Had the pleasure of having the tip of an earbud get stuck waaaaay in my ear while away on a business trip. Arrived at AFC to a clean waiting room and friendly reception staff. They verified insurance and I was seen within 5 minutes (it wasn't very busy, but still efficient). Friendly, no-nonsense staff checked me out and fixed me up in a hurry. I was in and out in about 15 minutes total. 10/10, would get an earbud stuck in my ear again. read more

Complete scam and rip off. My wife went in with stomach pain and we waited over 45 minutes. Finally when they take her in the back the Doctor is with her for 3 minutes and comes out to tell me she needs to go to the ER. Not only did I have to pay the $50 co-pay I also got a bill for close to $200 for our visit there. Like ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! They did absolutly nothing for my wife and I had to pay 250 just to be told to go to the ER.....I will mever go here again and advise everyone else to do the same. Next time ill just go directly to the ER and pay the 150 co-pay because it will be cheaper and they actually treat you!!! read more

The female dr there is horrible. She definitely talks down to you and does not listen. She could help but just wanted to hand me off to the next person. Don't put same day labs on the website if you don't do same day blood work too. Same day rapid strep should hardly be advertised as same day labs. Then, the dr wouldn't do blood work bc she didn't want to be responsible for it when it came back. Waste of time. Don't spend ur $ too, just go to the walk in at a hospital bc they're very limited at this clinic unless it's something straightforward like a broken bone or strep...n they'll prob only treat it if the rapid strep is pos when it's falsely neg a lot of times.....or at least this is the vibe the dr gave off....she didn't want to deal with anything or be responsible for it either. I went into Urgent Care for a cough and had been coughing and had a cold for about a week. I have chronic sinus/bronical issues and often don't need antibiotics but when it lasts over 5 or 6 days I know I need to be treated with antibiotics. I explained this to the PA who decided against any antibiotics. I left with nothing except continuing using Sudafed and Niquil as I had been doing. I called back Friday morning, after I gave it two more days, to explain my symptoms had worsened and that now I knew I needed an antibiotic. They said I had to come back again. I was pissed and decided to drive 27 miles into Boston to my own doctor who examined me and gave me a Zpac! btw ...( I have not been prescribed antibiotics in 3 years, so my physician does not prescribed freely)! Why go to urgent care only to have to go to my own doctor anyway? Not a good experience! Also, the copay was $50!!! My doctors copay was $25! The convenience of having Urgent Care nearby is great but the fact that I got sicker from the wrong diagnose is not good. Also, after just 24 hours on my Zpac, my cough is 50% better. These doctors are so worried about over prescribing, that when someone really need antibiotics to get better they end up getting sicker!!!! Just sayin! read more

Once I was finally seen I was rushed through given no answers of why I was coughing so much. Asking me as I'm leaving if they were to offer primary care services if I would use them. In response to AFC's response... the issues remain that (a) your facility did not discuss signs & symptoms that should indicate a need to return (b) they did not even take the time to thoroughly assess me (c) they did not take the time to teach a patient how to properly use the medication being prescribed. An inhaler is not a day to day medication for someone with 0 medical history. read more

Overall, I would give the place a 5 because everyone else in there is nice and thorough, however I am giving it a 3 because the doctor I saw this time ( Wilson) had horrible bed side manner. She just started sticking stuff in me eye without telling me the procedure she was going to do or what she was testing for. When I asked she told me she was looking for corneal scratch. After discussing the chances of it not being that since my symptoms were bilateral and not just one eye, I asked her to not continue. She threw the stuff down on the counter and it was clear she was angry. Being a nurse I realize how unprofessional and rude it is to just start sticking a patient without explaining what is going on, never mind to then get mad when the patient does not want to continue. Everyone else in there is very nice and professional with much better bedside manner. read more

This place completely took advantage of me. They admitted me with food poisoning symptoms just to tell me there's nothing they could do and referred me to the ER. They then held me for longer than I would have expected so they could process my "chart" and discharge papers. The receptionists at the front desk were extremely loud and obnoxious, giggling the entire time and being completely unprofessional. I'll never step foot in this place again and suggest none of you do either. They had no right admitting me or billing me such a large amount for how little they did.
