Joe was awesome! My 1998 Honda was over heating regardless of how much coolant I had in. I called on a Tuesday and was able to be seen on Thursday! Super fast! The staff fixed the leak that they discovered on some of the tubing and some valve heads. I had my check engine light on and they checked the codes out as well! Incredibly helpful and everyone was so nice! As a woman, going to mechanic can be rather difficult because they will talk down on you as if you know absolutely nothing. Joe explained everything to me perfectly and when I had to leave my car overnight, Joe kept me updated every step of the way! He wanted to make sure everything was done properly and he didn't want to rush anything and I greatly appreciate that! Just 30 minutes ago, my car suddenly started over-heating as I was heading south on 99. Pulled over at the chevron just off the sheldon exit to see what was up. Now heres the thing; I have no experience or knowledge of fixing cars whatsoever. So I was there for about 5 minutes on the phone with my brother just trying to figure out whats what and if you saw me, you'd know off the bat that I wasn't getting anywhere. Luckily for me, Gordon was there parked right beside me and offered me some help. He made sure that I knew that he was a mechanic and that he did this for a living. Was very polite and ensured me that I was going to get home just fine. Walked me through every step he took and why. Like I said before, I don't know much about cars. Brought my car in to have them look look for problems with engine as it will stall in the mornings if you don't warm it up first. Also when the AC is on, the engine will mildly shake for a couple seconds cycling. Initial inspection could not find anything obviously wrong so he interfaced with the car's computer diagnostic program which still didn't give identify the problem. The technician was honest and mentions that unfortunately he wont be able to find the problem unless it worsen. Didn't charge for the inspection. Week later my car engine check light came on and the problem did worsen. Brought my car in was able to diagnose that the coils on my car needed replacement. He was prompt with his diagnosis, estimate, and repair as he was able to purchase and install the parts the same day. He charged an hour, $90 for his time & cost of parts. I respect this business for its fair and honest approach to automotive repair. He could have easily added another an hour for the initial inspection or just for diagnostic alone. I believe this business factors in cost "case by case" under the philosophy of "honest work will receive an honest pay". I have no problem tipping the tech. read more

I was taking a big trip to Arizona to try and go back to school. I had just recently bought my car (2003 corolla) and I was worried about whether it would make it there safely or not. I went to University Automotive at first and I was worried about getting taken advantage of since I don't know that much about cars. Their quote was $2500 and I was clearly discouraged since I'm a student and I don't have that money, plus my car only cost $1500. I looked around a bit until I stumbled upon Affordable Automotive. If you're reading this review wondering if you should take your car here, this is your sign. They did an amazing job explaining what everything meant, and were extremely friendly and honest. Even got me in on the same day! The price to fix my car here was $580 (crazy difference, they really live up to their name) and I'm very thankful that I found this place. Gordon is the one of the best mechanics there is and so are his guys. These guys are definitely affordable and they get it done quick. My girlfriend went to brakemasters to get her brakes checked out and they told her she needed new pads on her rear tires and they were going to charge her over $300!!!! I had her get a second opinion at affordable auto. Not only were they honest, they only charge her $180 for the job that brake masters was going to do! I posted God's blessings upon"Affordable Automotive" success on my first post. Forgot to tell you why; I had shopped around for the best price I could find to have a 2000 Nissan Xterra engine to be replaced, after speaking with around 3 good auto shops in my area, Affordable Automotive, had the best price; in fact, Juan's engine supplier saved me, God's truth, nearly $1060 dollars compared to the two others shops, and approximately 45000miles less on the engine the 2 others had to offer. I can truly say, to get a 16years old car engine with only 107000miles on it was plenty Affordable. God is good.
