I had been told by one shop that I needed to have the transmission cooler lines replaced. The price quoted by that shop was more than I could afford. Upon the advice of a friend, they recommended that I call Hi-Tech and see how much they could do the work for. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they could do the work for significantly less . I was able to drop it off in the morning and I picked it in the afternoon as promised. They even asked me if I wished to keep the old parts, which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend Hi-Tech. Brought my 2012 Chevy Cruze here to deal with an oil leak. Not only did it take them over a month to inspect and replace a head gasket, they didn't do the extraction and repair correctly. Nothing but problems ever since. Had to replace the cam shaft and gears so, and it still doesn't run correctly. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Good for the basics, but missed the mark. Took my car in for a few different concerns. Wheel shake was one which they found to be wheels out of balance and shaking upon braking which ended up being warped rotors. Pretty simple. My other complaints were a loud induction noise and clunking coming from the rear suspension. The concerning thing is I was told these things were "normal", but after investigating on my own I found that there were far from normal. I suspected the clunk was my swaybar end-links. Sure enough, I pull the originals out and the they're sloppier than a pig after a downpour. Swapped with new and the noise was gone. As for the induction noise, this one took some investigating, but found the valve cover breather tube check valve was compromised. Inevitably this lead to a valve cover leak, but after repairs the noise was gone. Breather tube was a tough one, but the end links were easy. Telling me those noises were "normal" was very discouraging. Another reminder why I do my own work. read more

I call at 3:00 PM and his is SHOCKED to hear that I actually meant that I needed my car back today. He was stunned that I didn't just fold & do what he said. He fully expected me to just leave my vehicle there and I guess sleep on the street since he had my truck. How the hell did he think I was going to get home?! I needed a lot of work done to my trucks and I let hi tech do the job. during the job they found other items that needed to be fixed and they even showed me the items so i could understand what was failing. communication was amazing. The work was great 2005 Chevy Duramax 420XXX miles and its running like it did when i bought it with 36 miles on it. Highly recommend using them if you have any minor to major repairs. The goal? To perform a diagnostic in order to pass smog. Only problem?...Once the diagnostic was performed, he was not able to located the necessary part in the Sacramento area or On-line. If there was to way to give a negative stars, this would be the time. If you are even considering bringing your vehicle to this establishment, be prepared to dish out thousands to eventually have your vehicle in the same exact condition if not worse than it was in when you brought it in. Warranty? Don't worry they will find a technicality weather it be that you are month over or opps your warranty was actually only 6 months even though there is no documentation supporting that and even thou the invoice clearly states 12 months or 12k miles. They had supposedly repaired my transmission in 2018. I drove it for no more than12 months and some days and my transmission went out again. Apparently not learning my lesson the first time, I took my car to their shop again. After the longest hurdle they "repaired" my transmission with a used one. Now current times: 7 months later, less than 1k miles driven, my transmission fails again! I call them again. Tell them what happens and I am advised that oh since you had a used transmission, your warranty was only 6 months and how convenient it is 7 months now. I have never been so disappointed in a business. During the time my car was in the shop(2nd time) I attempted to get a hold of the owner Mohammed Koya several times and was always told "he's not here" " he'll call you back" when clearly he was there and he wasn't going to call me back. When finally I was to pick up my car he was to meet me to collect the payment and address some concerns I still had. I waited for him for over an hour and he never showed up. The most unprofessional service I've ever experienced. I had thought to post my experience than but I told myself forget it. But after my current experience I had to make sure that people are aware of the shady practices here. My advice is if your looking to get any type of repair- please steer away from this place for your own good. I wouldn't even send my enemies this way. The guy Scott will not honor what I paid him to do I paid him to fix whatever problem it was so I can go to a STAR certified smog place and get the truck smogged. Brought my 94 camaro in due to overheating which was caused by a broken temp gauge sensor and fans not turning on. They let me bring my car in as they were closing and kept it for a few days and got me back right and got my fans to work properly so i would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be taking my other cars here in the near future. Came here to get a smog for my moms Toyota Camry. This place totally ripped me off. I didn't even notice till I got home. We had a coupon for a smog for 14.75 plus certificate 8.25 is only $23. He told us that our gas cap was loose and he would replace it for $15. That's only a total of $38. When we left my mom paid a total of $49. My mom doesn't know English, and I got caught up that I didn't realize it till I got home. This place does not deserve my business anymore. read more

My BMW over-heated on the freeway and I had it towed to their shop for repair. I saw that the coolant overflow expansion tank was cracked and knew it had to be replaced, but was told by Hi-Tech Auto Care that I had a blown head gasket and most likely cracked cylinder head. They estimated the cost of repair to be over a couple of thousand dollars. Being that it's a 1999 car with over 250,000 miles I decided to either sell it to a recycle yard or on Craigslist. I received an offer for $500 from the recycle yard, but found a buyer (a BMW enthusiast) on Craigslist who drove up to Sacramento and towed the car down to San Diego and paid me $1,100 for the car "as is". A week later, the buyer called me and told me that there was nothing wrong with the car other than needing a new $50 expansion tank. He recommended that I never take my car to the shop that told me it needed a new head gasket and possibly having a cracked cylinder head. I've been taking my car to Hi-Tech for years, but I think they changed ownership and the new owners clearly are unqualified. I'll never take my car to them again. A repair that should have cost less than $200 was misdiagnosed that resulted in me practically giving my car away, a car that I dearly miss. read more

this business is very unprofessional I must say.... I Previously had my car worked on in that shop I disclose that I had a hit a pothole and and something is wrong with my axle, I asked for a diagnostic to see what the issue was so I can get it fixed. I was told by Scott the receptionist after doing The diagnostic that all my car needs was a wheel alignment I was charge $ 200 for the wheel alignment and also for my the a diagnostic witch was $95 witch total to $295 . When I got my car back I hurd a humming sound from the wheel i called hi tech back to let them know and I was told to give it some time it should Stop, so after a week of the humming sound it got louder and louder I was told by another mechanic shop that this issue is my wheel bearings and the shop that did the diagnostic should have cought it instead of changing or correcting the wheel alignment becouse that wasn't the issue , I then Called hi tech back to ask why when they did the diagnostic on my axle why didn't they catch my wheelbearings is going out Scott the receptionist then pointed the finger back at me and told me I did not tell them to check the wheelbearings I replied and said well if you did a diagnostic on my axle wouldn't you look all around the axles and check the wheel baring I believe that goes with the diagnostics Scott then called me out my name called me fucking dumb and ignorant and to never come back .... I told he he was being very unprofessional and Scott replied by saying oh you guys are very professional right I then asked him what do he mean by You guys he starts laughing and hung up in my face this business is very unprofessional and I would never ever go back there I never had this issue with the old owner or staff....As a customer nobody should ever have to deal with bigotry and prejudice As a result of spending their own money hard earned money. Usually I have them check something I know is in good order to see if they try to sell or up-sell. Chak changed my oil and checked/filled fluids and hoses. I had him check my brakes to see if he'd try to sell me (brakes were pretty new). Chak takes me to the back and shows me the brakes are fine. He and his wife were honest and straight forward. They were able to secure it and mentioned that I was due for an oil change. I figured while they had it, why not.
