I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for hospice care. Continuum Hospice added stress to an…read morealready stressful situation--my mom passing. Care was inconsistent from the start. After enrolling on a Saturday, no nurse visited until Friday, leaving us on our own for five days. The nurse who did come called (with poor reception) to suggest stopping all medications, then never followed up--I had to track down the physician myself for guidance. I wasn't given the blue book--"Gone From my Sight" that explains the dying experience until the day before she died. Communication and clinical judgment were unreliable. When she had a severe reaction to morphine, it was dismissed by a nurse, and I had to escalate to the physician to get her medication changed. The day before my mother passed, I was told she was not transitioning. She died the next day. There were also clear signs of understaffing. They repeatedly offered help with bathing, but no one showed up for weeks--too late to be appropriate. After her death, the nurse who arrived to declare her death had her name wrong and lacked basic information we had already provided. So I was having to correct the spelling of her name and get my phone to give her the name and phone number of the mortuary. I had given this information to the social worker so it should have been in their system. A small thing one could argue. But did not make me feel cared for. Compassion for my mom passing was absent. It was totally transactional. I regret not changing providers earlier. I tried to initiate a change, but the paperwork was not sent in a timely manner. If you are not happy with a Hospice change at the first sign of trouble as transfers once someone is close to passing are more difficult. I should have been able to focus on my mom and dad during these difficult final weeks--not manage gaps in care.

Angela agreed to provide servicing of my mother's medication throughout the night every four hours. We even discussed the hours that they would provide care during the night. Angela put none of this information in writing. This organization and head nurse cannot be trusted to do what they say they will do. Continuum says we did not call for help throughout the night. Of course we didn't because we were told by Angela they would cover us.

My mother was close to death and I had no idea how to comfort her and make her transition easier as…read morethis was happening so fast. I googled Hospice and came across MD Choice that had some good reviews. I had no idea who I was calling but there had to have been some divine intervention pushing me to this call and this company. After a few questions I received a call from Dr De Leon who was the most compassionate and caring doctor I have come across. He sensed my immediate need, came straight out to the house, assessed my mother and went himself to the pharmacy to pick up the needed medications. He knew the urgency and took it upon himself to do all the footwork. He obtained the needed comfort medication, stabilized my mother and allowed my mother to pass peacefully all within a matter of hours from making that initial call. When she did pass that evening, he again, arranged for everything from the pronouncing to the calls according to the pre-arrangements. Without MD Choice and the connection with Dr De Leon, I don't know how I would have been able to handle the situation. His immediate response on a Sunday, his Taking control of the situation and quick actions made such a difference in the final few hours my mother had. If you find yourself in a situation like this and needing someone to help in this time, I highly recommend MD Choice and Dr De Leon. I am forever grateful to MD Choice and Dr De Leon for acting so quickly and with such caring and love in this terrible time of need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the hearts of my family.

Not only were they able to provide significantly more daily visits from their team of nurses and aids than the other options we considered, but they were incredibly responsive, efficient, and helpful with every question or request we had--and that includes their 24/7 on-call team. Cheryl, the RN Case Manager, in particular, was a godsend. It was a huge relief to be able to rely on them so thoroughly from day one. They delivered everything we needed within hours of getting the paperwork done; and both Cheryl and an aide were there for the last few hours my brother was alive--providing support and care. We really can't recommend them highly enough!

From the moment I enter her office I feel transported into a sea of calm warmth---from her kind, welcoming smile, to the serene surrounds, to the cozy heated table. Most importantly, Holly's expert hands and gently attuned presence provide an experience that feels extremely safe, nurturing and relaxing, and which fosters deep re-balancing and inner healing, every time. I'm very grateful my friend recommended her to me!

In our first session, it became very clear that I was in for a deep healing experience. I released a lot of emotions, which isn't easy for me to do. Holly provided a safe and very big container in which to process and move through some deep, dark, scary shit (I mean, she's worked as a hospice nurse, so I'm sure she's seen some things!). Her touch is very intuitive, powerful and loving. My life has been changing in big ways since I started working with her. I am healing core wound stuff, and the work continues to be deeply transformative and cathartic. I can't recommend Holly enough if you're having physical/emotional issues or are just looking for a CST in the area.
