I broke my foot badly and realized I needed extra care to live independently while I healed. Home Instead, which is based in San Rafael, came to my home and explained their services. They were amenable and flexible to a schedule that met my needs and my budget. All of the caregivers they sent to my home were outstanding. Cleaning, cooking, driving, wellness assistance at any level. My elderly Mother also uses Home Instead in another region of California, so they have a good track record. If you get a caregiver who isn't a good fit, you just call the Home Instead office and they immediately find another caregiver. Licensed, insured, and highly professional, I can recommend Home Instead for caregiving. I also find it comforting to know that if I have a health emergency in the future that requires caregiving at home, I have an established relationship with Home Instead for quick service.

Just the idea of assisted living usually conjures up negative things but Sunrise Villa creates a whole different experience, a wonderful one. My folks have only been there for one month, having come from a beautiful hilltop home on sonoma Mountain, and they are both already saying they are happy there. There are tons of amazing activities scheduled all day long, and their amazing two bedroom apartment gives them a living room, a bedroom,and an extra bedroom for my father's computer and office. On top of all that, Grace, who helped us through every step, is the most kind, loving, understanding, and patient person to help your family through this difficult time. She is amazing! Thank you Grace! Sunrise Villa is not cheap however, and you'll need plenty of money in order to stay there, but it's definitely worth it, and they have created an assisted living facility that takes the sting out of the painful family process that leads to the need for it.
