I got locked out of my house today and called the first lock smith that came up on my iphone google search. Bad idea! The guy wanted to charge me $200! It was then that I called Affordable Lock and Key. Herman told me that he could get the door opened for me and it would only cost $60. While on the phone with him the other lock smith started giving me a hard time, insisting that I pay him (even though he had yet to provide any service). Herman told me to ask for his CAL license and thankfully the guy took off. Additionally, Herman came to my rescue right away. I was waiting less than 30 min (just as he estimated) and he got me right into my house. I am so thankful for the excellent service that Herman provided me with today. Herman was very nice to me but he is ONLY a mobile service and I wanted someone I can bring my locks to get done...no need for a visit.

The deadbolt lock on my front door got stuck inside the door and we couldn't lock our front door. We called the company who had installed the lock a few months earlier and they wanted to charge us an arm and leg to come out that evening. Otherwise we would have to wait a couple of days until they had some free time in their schedule. Their attititide has always been terrible, so we declined. That is when we found Herman on Yelp. We left a message around 5 PM on a Thursday and he called back at 10 PM the same evening. He said he was very busy the next day, but he could fit me in the morning if he could come at 7 AM. He came promptly at 7 AM and spent about an hour fixing not only the lock, but also the poor job the previous locksmith had done at lining up the striker plate holes. No wonder the door never seemed to close properly! I thought his charges were very reasonable. I wish we had used him a couple of months ago when we installed all new locks on our doors!
