This is one of the stories that does carry more north face then other academy's I have been too! That's probably the only upside to it! We have also found more ammunition here then any other academy. The shoes are super unorganized!!! I needed to find one pair and it took me a while but I found it!!!! It's a good store just to go in and out to expect much out of the place.

The shorts cost $70 so if you buy one at $70, the second pair would be 50% of $70 for $35 for a total of $105 for two. I tried to purchase these shorts and the discount showed $17.50 at the register. That amount is 25% off not 50%. I pointed it out to the cashier but she defended the amount of $17.50 as being correct but could not explain why. As a long time corporate banker, I have a clear understanding of basic math. Either the register is not calibrated correctly or the store is falsely advertising the sale and they are basically ripping people off. Not only did I not purchase the shorts (I was going to buy four) I will not ever step foot into a Dick's Sporting Goods store again, anywhere. There are plenty of alternatives to buy elsewhere.

Their kayak selection is impressive! You could outfit a militia with all the shotguns and rifles that they sell here. They sell enough camping gear to go off the grid for the rest of your life. They've got a great selection of sneakers and athletic wear as well. The place was picked up, and clean. Several clerks asked if I needed help finding anything, which is nice that they're there ready to help. This is the place to go for your UTSA gear- they've got a lot of it, from koozies, to t-shirts. GO ROADRUNNERS! They also have the best selection of Spurs gear outside of the AT&T Center, with much cheaper prices too. They didn't sell any Texas A&M San Antonio, or SMU gear. They have a full gym area where you can go try out the stair step machines, and the elliptical trainers. Perhaps if you're too cheap for a gym membership, you could just hang out here... The cashier seemed to be enjoying his job, and joked with the customers. Parking is easy, there's a large private lot here. Overall, a positive experience!

The two staff at the counter greeted me as I walked in... the apparel had been nicely organized and merchandised like REI can! I had a couple questions about gear and again j their staff was super helpful. We got the shoes we wanted and some great National Park Swag for our daughter. Super pleasant conversation at checkout! From hiking gear, to camping material, running equipment, bikes and much more! This store truly has it all. My husband and I are currently planning a trip to Arizona and needed some new hiking shoes so immediately thought of coming to REI. They had a wide variety of hiking shoes from all brands. They were also having a labor day sales which was super convenient and got a great discount on my shoes. Also they have a membership which is free to join and you get a lot of perks. One of my favorite is their annual sale just for members which is absolutely amazing. Last but not least, the staff here is always amazing and very knowledgable about all the brands that they carry. I highly recommend taking advantage of their knowledge and asking as many questions as you can before purchasing anything.

The other great thing is they have LAY-AWAY, I used it before, for a shotgun I wanted, but didn't really care to have it right away. The prices are pretty good, but what makes them special, is that they offer guns that you won't find at Academy or most commercial gun stores, i.e. AK-47, AK- pistol, SKS style shotguns, etc... So, if you are looking for stuff that you can find at Academy, you'd save a few more dollars for those types of guns at Acadmey since they buy in bulk, but if you can't afford to buy the gun outright then go to Powder Horn and put it on lay away or start saving.

I had an interstate handgun transfer shipped…read morefrom an FFL in Florida to Armageddon Armory under my name, but when I arrived, they had opened the sealed box addressed to me, completely mishandling the process and preventing a legal transfer. They were rude, dismissive, and refused to call ATF for clarification -- I had to call myself and put the ATF agent on speaker so they could be corrected. Even after admitting their mistake, they refused to cover the reshipment cost and made me pay again. They clearly do not understand basic FFL transfer procedures and should not be handling firearms or transfers until properly trained.
