This Affy's location was OK. Sat outside on the patio and it was a bit chilly, but service was still prompt. Had the stuffed chicken which was tasty, but I wasn't a huge fan of the sides. Tried some of my party's steak which was good. Affy's is definitely known for their steak.

I'm not sure why this restaurant had such low ratings on Yelp in the past. I've been here twice in the past year and it's been decent customer service. However, it is worth noting that their prices have gone up significantly. I remember the lemon pepper filet of fish with sides and shrimp used to be $16 but is now $20 which I suppose would be considered normal nowadays with inflation. I personally like the plaza this restaurant is located at with all the bubble tea options around them and lots of parking. The restaurant itself is clean and very spacious. The wait time for the food is alright, not too long or too quick. The staff were all very polite and checking in on my table from time to time. The filet of fish and shrimp was delicious with the lemon pepper sauce. Vegetable side was well-seasoned and flavoured. I would prefer less pepper in the gravy for the mashed potatoes but that's more of a personal preference. The chicken in the Caesar salad was a bit dry as well but overall, my meal experiences here has been solid.

The food was great! Had the wings and some filet mingon, both were delicious. The pina colada was good too! Would go again :)

If I could select 0 stars, I would. I'm am disgusted and appalled by this restaurant. There was a bug in my food and the manager accused me of lying and saying it's black pepper. I'm pretty sure I can differentiate between black pepper and a bug. Last time I checked black pepper doesn't have arms and legs and moves. Stuff happens and it would have been fine but the manager was RUDE beyond words. Even after I pointed it out, she didn't apologize even once. She had the audacity to tell one of the other staff to apologize instead of doing it herself. Terrible customer service. The food was mediocre, nothing special. Would not recommend at all.

Tried this location to see if it would be any better than the one in Pickering however the food wasn't that great either. We ordered the spinach & eggplant dip which had a very odd taste and not sure what they gave us instead. The fried lemon fish fingers were too soft and bland. For the main dishes we ordered the super loaded burgers, fried fish sandwiches and the crispy onion and cheese burgers. The meat was dry and over cooked and needed a lot of ketchup in it to eat and the fish batter was falling off. The kids chicken fingers were bland and the batter was falling off of the chicken. The chicken Parmesan primavera was alright and probably the better out of all the other foods we ordered. Pretty disappointing food. The service was good but the food needs work. Tried Affy's a few times and all times the food wasn't the greatest. Won't be coming back here!

So I went last Saturday night with a group of 12 people, place was fairly empty... here are some things that we experienced other than waiters and waitresses with a horrible attitude: -appetizer salads coming out after entrees -some of the food was pipping hot, some was luke warm/cold -cheese stuffing in stuffed chicken breast was so cold that it wasn't even melted, I've had this dish 20+ times and this was the worst -cajun butter had huge lumps in it (probably old) -stale/rancid ketchup, lack of napkins, they gave us folded paper towels? -had to be reminded of 1 person's drink 3-4 times (waiter was also upset that we asked and said "IT'S COMING!") -had to ask about a missing entree 3-4 times, by the time that entree arrived everyone else was COMPLETELY done eating, no apology/offer to correct this mistake -medium-well steak came out rare -waitress told half of our party they were out of mash potatoes and did not tell the other half, some people got mash... some didn't, we tried to ask her why and she got very angry saying that "the kitchen just made it" which didn't make sense as to why she only informed half of our party they were out and we all ordered at the same time... -Lastly... the waitress came with one long bill and verbally told everyone the totals and handed out the debit machines, I quickly realized it was a bit high and asked to see the print-out only to realize gratuity was already added... some people didn't catch that (because she held the bill) and gave even more tip for this horrible horrible service, how sneaky...

Where do I start? No sort of social distancing whatsoever. The tables weren't being cleaned in between uses and they used physical menus that look like they haven't been cleaned in years. The bathroom was disgusting. I felt like I should get checked just because i entered the place. The food was ALRIGHT, nothing to write home about. Don't order pop from the place because they will charge you 3 bucks for a CAN OF POP. I nearly passed out because the menu overall isn't that expensive. Save your money and go elsewhere, I'm sure they will get reported to the Ministry of Health soon.

Always screw up orders and half the time the chicken does not taste fresh. I am sure they are serving old food here that is leftover.

Not wanting to roast, we safely seconded ourselves inside. Here I was greeted with a chill bar environment with tables so crammed together that it'd be a Tetris feat to get yourself into a chair if someone was sitting behind you. Luckily, it wasn't busy on a Friday afternoon, so I jimmied myself into a highchair and settled down with a Gin Lizzy ($15). It's a good first drink since it essentially tastes like a sparkling berry lemonade. The rhubarb reduction and lime make it go down so easy that you must remind yourself it's not juice given it contains gin and prosecco. Personally, even with a refreshing cocktail, I like them tasting stiffer. The El Diablo ($15) hit the spot as the tequila was pronounced but mellowed with black berry concentrate and lime. The ginger beer helped to add a twinge of spiciness and bubbles. This was a favourite amongst our table. A couple of nibbles tied us over until dinner. The queso & chips ($12) arrived with plenty of warm crispy tortillas that were seasoned making them nice to munch on solo or with a sprinkling of finely diced pico de gallo. The queso was a great consistency coating the chip without being too thick and was perfectly seasoned so that it was flavourful without being overly salty. The wild zero wings ($16 for a lb) were hot and juicy, tossed in an apricot glaze that gave the wings a sweet and savoury element, sort of like a Thai sauce but not quite as syrupy. And if they weren't saucy enough, a generous portion of creamy dill arrives as well. Poor Romeo is a great place for a quick drink with nibbles or a casual date. And if you're in the area for an after-meal tipple, their version of an espresso martini is the Night Flight ($16). It certainly tasted of coffee, from a coffee reduction and Jägermeister cold brew, but mellowed out with vodka and a bit of creaminess from the Tia Maria.

They have $9 and $10 lunch specials which include a pop, a side of fresh cut fries, and various options such as burgers ($9) and pita wraps ($10). There's no need to go too in depth with describing it, just that you know when everything is made to order and things like the meat and fries are from fresh and not frozen, it's going to be good. At the end of the tournament the kids were also hungry, so we went back. I had the Gyro dinner, and there were more burgers and wraps ordered for the others. The gyro plate had the classic sides (pita, lemon potatoes, rice) and all were solid. The gyro itself - and the most important - was absolutely delicious and some of the best I've had. I think the platter was about $17. All was very reasonably priced, even when not during the lunch special. You can dine in and though you order at the counter, they service on real plates and the (optional) rate of tipping isn't pushed nearly as high as most places. But when Toronto…read moreLife hosted a special TL Insider dinner ($225 per person, inclusive of taxes and gratuities), curiosity won out. The prices listed below reflect the regular menu, though portions at the event were likely smaller than standard service. The evening began with a beef skewer ($31), featuring cubes of barbecued beef glazed in teriyaki and topped with plenty of chives. Unfortunately, consistency was an issue. Other guests raved about how tender theirs were, while mine arrived overcooked. It wasn't inedible, but it certainly wasn't tender. One of the restaurant's newer additions is its aged fish program, so I was eager to try the dry-aged salmon ($33). Listed as a "crudo," I expected delicate slices in a citrusy sauce, but it arrived as another skewer. The texture was undeniably smooth, with the dry aging removing any chewiness, but the salmon also developed a gaminess that lingered unpleasantly. A marinade or thinner slicing might help balance things out. I'm glad their signature Caesar salad ($24) remains excellent. It's beautifully balanced with acidity, savouriness, and thoughtful touches like buttery breadcrumbs and bacon bits that aren't rock hard. It's still one of the better Caesars in the city, though tableside preparation now costs an additional $10. Fans of tartare will likely appreciate the beef tartare ($41), which is prepared traditionally with minimally dressed hand-cut beef. Personally, I wanted more contrast in texture or flavour, though tartare has never been my go-to dish. I did appreciate the accompaniments of buttery crostini and gem lettuce leaves, which offered a lighter way to enjoy it. And for fans like me, don't worry their cheese bread puffs still make an appearance (along with their take home chocolate muffins). What continues to shine at Jacobs is the steak itself. The 40-day dry aged striploin was cooked beautifully, developing a crust that locked in the juices while maintaining tenderness despite being a leaner cut. The seasoning is more restrained, which allowed the volcanic sea salt and chimichurri on the side to actually enhance the beef rather than overwhelm it. The pecorino broccolini ($22) had me almost finishing off the plate and is such a nice accompaniment with the rich beef. The only disappointment was the duck fat fries ($21), which arrived lukewarm and slightly stale, likely a casualty of serving a packed dining room. Dessert ended the evening on a high note. The crème brulee ($21) was fantastic with visible vanilla bean specks throughout the silky custard. The sugar topping was thin and delicate, avoiding that overly sweet crunch some versions suffer from. Served alongside a sizeable chocolate biscotti and a fragrant orange shortbread cookie, it's easily large enough to share. With the expanded dining room, the front-of-house team has clearly grown as well. The staff is younger and fresher-faced, so any old-school steakhouse stuffiness has largely disappeared. More importantly, the service remains polished and attentive, and we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
