Loved it. 4 star food and 5 star value, so I'll let value tip the scales to a 5 star overall review. I was in the area for my kids' tournament and saw it come up on a search. They have $9 and $10 lunch specials which include a pop, a side of fresh cut fries, and various options such as burgers ($9) and pita wraps ($10). There's no need to go too in depth with describing it, just that you know when everything is made to order and things like the meat and fries are from fresh and not frozen, it's going to be good. At the end of the tournament the kids were also hungry, so we went back. I had the Gyro dinner, and there were more burgers and wraps ordered for the others. The gyro plate had the classic sides (pita, lemon potatoes, rice) and all were solid. The gyro itself - and the most important - was absolutely delicious and some of the best I've had. I think the platter was about $17. All was very reasonably priced, even when not during the lunch special. You can dine in and though you order at the counter, they service on real plates and the (optional) rate of tipping isn't pushed nearly as high as most places. Came here after our friend recommended it, decided to check it out because we were nearby and wanted to support a local mom and pop shop. The burgers are Angus meat and worth a try. Very flavorful and has the hint of smoke grill taste with a juicy tasty patty. The home fries were nice and wasn't frozen so I loved that. My friend got the chicken souvlaki dinner and it was okay but the chicken he felt was a bit dry. He wouldn't order it again he mentioned. Maybe this is a burger place that serves Greek food. I walk in wanted a Gyro. So I order one. Than and the staff are friendly, ask if I'd like a combo and she offered me fries and I said could I get a Greek salad, and she said yes. So I said okay. Then I start adding up their menu items cause usually a combo is a better deal. Not so here. Everything ala carte adds up to the same price as a combo. Anyway I would have been okay with it if I hadn't gotten four pieces of frozen Gyro Strips that I probably could buy at Costco. This is not fresh made. If you want a good Gyro go to Greek Town. I know it seems weird to order something other than a hamburger at a joint with the word "burger" in its name, but I when I noticed a Chicken Souvlaki meal option on Mama's Boys Burgers' menu, I couldn't help myself. Though the place was about half full, I had to wait almost a full half hour to receive my dish. But I found it hard to complain once I began eating, as this is a seriously superior plate of food. The chicken pieces are tender and contain an irresistible char from the grill, while the accompanying rice, potatoes, and salad are all of an above-average quality. (I will say, though, that the potatoes were cooked in a lemon sauce that was perhaps just a little too acidic for my liking.) I'd definitely return if only to try a hamburger. read more

Worse experience i have ever had. i ordered a cheeseburger and after 40 minutes still no burger. Then the old lady who runs the place said i would have to pay again. Lucky i used my debit card which clearly showed my payment, but even then she refused to believe me. Finely her son look at my phone and made me my burger. Finally i got the burger which was ok. First time visited this place even though I live across the street. The space inside was limited but they had lots of outdoor dining spaces that might be popular when the summer turns up. I got the American Signature Burger (with tomatoes & red onions) and its one of the best burgers i've ever had. The patty is very juicy, smoky and thick unlike the burgers at fast food places. I liked the caramelized onions and bacon thats on the burger, overall the burger is so juicy that it doesn't need any sauces! The only downside is that it's about $11 which is pretty expensive since it was kinda small. I also had the poutine, it comes in a large portion, the gravy and cheese curds are good. read more

It was my hubby's bday and where does he want me to take him? Mama's Boys Burgers! My hubby is a no nonsense guy; all he wants is a thick, juicy well seasoned burger that's reasonably priced. He always orders Mama's Signature Burger with two 6oz freshly ground burgers with cheddar cheese, bacon and caramelized onions. He added lettuce, tomato and the chipotle mayo (sauce is to die for, we used it on our regular fries too). My go to order is the Steak cooked medium on a Kaiser bun with grilled onions and mushrooms. I added tomato slices and lettuce on mine. Both sandwiches were juicy, tender and flavorful. My steak sandwich was so tender that I could cut it with a plastic knife. When we were almost done, I was thinking it would be nice to meet Mama. I look towards the door and who comes walking in? The great lady herself: Mama! I excitedly told her that my hubby insisted that we eat at her restaurant for his birthday. She enthusiastically wished him a happy birthday, hugged him then turned around and kissed me on both cheeks! She then went to the refrigerated case, pulled out a "lemon mousse" dessert and gave it to my hubby as a gift. What a sweetheart! A teeny teeny bit on the dry side though with the last few bites with mostly bun and toppings. It was still however a very generous size. I'd probably get the 4 oz (American Single) next time. 4/5. Onion Rings - Super super crispy with barely any signs of grease. I had ordered in advance and while my order sat on their counter, I was running an errand so the rings weren't as fresh but they were still amazing. I can just imagine how even more amazing they would be if they were fresh out of the fryer. Probably one of the best onion rings in town. 5/5. Poutine - Ordered my burger as a combo and upgraded to a poutine. Again, my order has been sitting so I didn't have it as fresh. This is of course on me and no fault of theirs at all. Just like the onion rings though, the poutine was still very good. Loved their gravy and love the fact they use cheese curds - a must in a classic poutine! Fries are fresh cut too which I love. The place is cute kind of small, you get to see your food being made in front of you. Atmosphere feels old school but had a great home vibe to it. The staff were friendly and my friends and I got to meet the legendary Mama herself (such a sweet kind lady). My friends and I ordered: Mama's signature Burger: 2x 6oz patties with caramelized onions, cheese and bacon with fries, The American Signature Burger: 2x 4oz patties with caramelized onions, cheese and bacon with onion rings and The American Single: 1x 4oz patty with fries. Pretty good portions for the price. Fries got soggy after a while but that's typical but they were delicious and crispy when we got them. The beef patties made were juicy and seasoned nicely. It was juicy till the last bite! Toppings and condiments were pretty standard the usual. But the fact that my beefy patty was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and was juicy made me more than satisfied. I'm pretty glad we tried this place out. I hate to have to update this one cause I used to view this place as having the best burger but not anymore. I was in Monday (Sept 9) and I noticed there is a younger guy now working the grill. This guy just threw the meat on the grill then went in the back to talk to the ladies that were working. (You could hear him joking around in the dining area.) After awhile he finally came back out to flip the burger then disappeared again. I got the food to go and I admit I should have checked it before leaving but to be honest I should not have to if I'm paying just short of $20 for a combo. The burger was way over cooked and very dry. Burnt on one side on both patties. Completely not worth what I paid. There used to be two older guys that used to work the grill. Super friendly staff and momma is super nice a lot of the times maybe because I"m a regular there she will offer me a free drink. They usually have lil samples or snacks on the counter free for costumers which I really like too! I would suggest if ur in a rush u call ahead for ur order because they make their food from fresh it can sometimes take a bit longer then u wanna wait but I'd rather food cooked from fresh then something that's half cooked already or thats been sitting under a hot lamp. Mama's Boys Burgers. If you want a great hamburger, this is your place. You want great food, this is also your place. Open most nights until 11pm, Friday and Saturday open until 3am. But they do much more than just burgers. There is nothing on the menu that isn't great. From the steak dinner that has the best roasted lemon potatoes that frankly no Greek restaurant can beat, as well as perfectly cooked rice and an awesome fresh Greek salad. To steak on bun, gyros on a pita or sausage on bun. I have had practical everything on the menu and haven't been disappointed once. The family that runs this place is Greek, and Mama (yes there is a Mama) makes certain that the chefs meet up to the standard of care and cooking only people who have had grandmothers cook for them know. The staff are friendly, efficient and stand out amongst all the various staff I encounter with all the regular places I frequently. So Mama's Boys Burgers is somewhat of a staple in southern Scarborough close to buff, while the place has really only been open for 5 years now. I know I had assume it been there forever but reading into, there use to be a portugril here in the spot up untill early 2011. Some of that decor I think still exist which include the Mama Boy Mural inside and some the tiles and table Which I dont mind as much. If i didnt read it I wont know. The the I can comment on is table placement, it a small joint and they seem to be just packing in what they can so this place has limited seating. Maybe 4 or 5 tables and a counter by the window but most of their food is take out, Even the owner who is sweet lady at cash most of time, recommend if you get food or takeout, calling in is a good idea. I have to get before a crowd of construction workers other wise i would been waiting This place is more value and large portion then quality, which isnt bad, it not best tasting burger i had but it was still juicy, i had mama double which two 6 ounce patties for just over 10 dollar. It not bad, and it filling. But there was nothing to special about it or nothing terrible. I decided to go on a trek to check out what the fuss is all about with Mama's boys burger. I walked into their cozy little burger joint with high expectations given how they have typically been regulars on top burger lists in the GTA. The first thing you will realize is who's really running the show at this establishment -mama. The regular comes in and automatically greets mama. Mama is always on the move and roams around the restaurant to ask patrons how the burgers are and then continues to put fake candle lights on each table as the early evening hits. I really admire mama... reminds me of Hazel Mccallion. Both women with strong character and know how to get things done. I deliberated for a little bit to see which burger to get, finally arrived at the Mama's single with a poutine combo. I'm not quite sure why some Yelpers complained about price. For $13 you got a combo with a good portion of food. And you know Mcdee's combos are around the same price these days and most likely comes only with just plain fries. As promised by mama, the beef patty was made fresh and you can certain tell that there's no fillers in the thing. For burger connoisseurs an important element of the burger patty is the fact that you can taste the texture and the meat, contrary to what many chain burger places would offer. However, taste wise, I have to agree with some Yelpers, their beef patty is quite underseasoned; that really took away from the enjoyment of the burger. I would say that it was a good burger and not a great burger. The chunky fries in the poutine was enjoyable. Smothered in a dark gravy with very tiny pieces of cheese curds. Some people woild probably have an issue with the size of the cheese curds but personally I think it made more sense than the usual big ones since it melts and blends in with the gravy easier. At the pickup counter they also had a big platter of loukoumades (Greek donuts) for patrons to try. I've had them before at other places but this one was super sweet. The syrup was totally absorbed by the spongey dough, the texture reminded me a bit of Gulab Jamun. The texture of the spongey soaked balls always throws me off. But at least you can see their efforts of treating customers to it and letting them try before you buy. If you are in the area, it's a decent enough place to eat. Also if you are someone who have a to try burger joint list, you can certainly visit Mama to get another name crossed off. But if you are thinking of making the trek to have your doors blown off, it will probably not be worth the drive. read more

What I like the most about this place is the love and care that goes into each order. Some of my favorite choices are of course the burger with fries, the steak on a kisser bun, and the souvlaki dinner. There is really no wrong choice in my opinion as all the items on the menu are very good, if you have not been here I recommend you make a visit! The staff are supper friendly and if you come early enough you may get a chance to have your order taken by Mama herself, she is such a nice lady and always happy to serve the customers.
