    French onion soup
    Patrick P.

We came here because it was close to our hotel, and we were staying an extra night because of a delay so we were clearly frustrated but decided to make the best of it and try this spot. Parking is plentiful in the plaza, so no worries there. Greeted and seated by Sierra, really good start to the evening. Super professional. As Sierra knew we dealt with a travel nightmare, Meagan (I may have spelled this wrong, forgive me if so!) came by with an amuse bouche for the table, a wonton crisp with tuna tartare which was a beautiful touch. Robin was our server, he was helpful with making some recommendations for us and we started out with drinks and a "community bread" which means every order of bread allows a meal to the needy. Very cool option. Bread was freshly warm, tasty. Our group got the steak bites, Caesar Salad, and I got the French Onion soup. Loved the soup, my colleagues enjoyed the salad but the steak bites had some inconsistency with texture and doneness. They're marinated and Robin recommended a couple options for dipping sauces which went nicely. I got a couple good bites. For my main I got the center cut NY, with the trio of sauces and side of fries and veggies. For pricing, reasonable. My coworker got the special dry aged sirloin and my other colleague got the tuna tartare app along with the garlic shrimp. All in all, a decent meal. Very busy, so reservations recommended. Support small businesses!

Great place for steak lovers - tho we ended up eating other meals You have a choice of two sections: either at a traditional sit down / low seats restaurant or a more sports TV bar / high chair / booth section (we chose the booth TV side) Love the dimmer lighting for a more relaxing atmosphere- not so dark that I can't see anything Our group ordered a selection appies: soup of the day - mushroom & steak soup, birria beef spring rolls, beets & goat cheese salad, Beyond the Meat burger, regular Chop Burger, Avocado Super Bowl + Dessert Trio (tiny portion for price) All were fabulous in quality, taste & served in large plates or large brim shallow bowls. Aside from the Avocado Super Bowl however, the dishes smaller in portion size than expected (vs to the cost) Service was friendly, attentive & Great! Thanks! (find me on IG via @aida.loves )

Well I am not going to say it's the best prime rib I have ever had, but it is probably the best prime rib I've ever had at 11:45 PM. This place says they are open until 1 AM from Tuesday through Saturday and it is actually true, the kitchen is open too, and that is nice when you get into Toronto late at night and are hankering for some beef. A good supply of beers and liquors on tap also, and it's not terribly expensive either, at least by steakhouse standards.

This is the headline - mediocre steak, despite the good service. As a large group, we tried a myriad of different appetizers, including the Birria Spring Rolls, Steak Bites, Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese Dip, Escargot Stuffed Mushrooms, and bread. They were all unimpressive and average at best. For the main course, I ordered the rib eye, with fries and onion rings. The fries and onion rings were pedestrian, but the rib-eye was the real disappointment. It was flavorless and chewy. Not a fan! Yes, the ambiance is inviting, and the service is very courteous, but Chop Steakhouse & Bar totally underdelivers on the food front.

Overall good place for food and drinks. Preston was great and she served us with fast service and a smile. The place is a little noisy, all open concept. It's a big place and the chairs are comfortable. The was a mix of food ordered, steak bites, soup, fish and steak. The prices are a little high which will deter people from coming back, it will be a place to go on occasion. The only complaint would be that the 7oz strip-loin looked like it was a 4oz. It tasted good but for $38 with some mash and little veggies that is a bit much.

Amazing service. The manager I think his name was Pete came by with some goat cheese and bread as a welcome gift which tasted amazing. Very good looking steak house inside with plenty of tvs. The steak bites and the actual steak were not what I expected from here could have been way better. But the burger and tuna were excellent. I highly recommend the chop burger. Bartender was very good at making drinks too.

This place was busy! Even on a weekday night. The servers were friendly and patient with our large group. Food was average...fries werent the greatest but the others (salads, mashed potatoes and baked potato) seemed better. The smoked prime rib was very flavorful and the regular prime rib was decent.

Very upscale feels in the restaurant. Went with my co-workers & loved the service! Our server was funny and very friendly! Food was amaze-balls! I ordered red sangria and pistachio crusted cod

This place offers three types of atmospheres that certainly caters to all audiences. We sat on the bar side and it was amazing. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My ribs were fall of the bone and very flavorful. Will certainly come again.

Plenty of free parking out front. Ordered furious fries and avocado Super Bowl. Protein options were chicken and shrimp. Waitress advised grilled today was an option for vegetarians! The salad was wildly delicious! I think it was the candied pumpkin seeds and lime vinaigrette that tickles my palate. Would definitely come to this steak house again, just for the salad.

I heard about Chop Steakhouse & Bar from subscribing to Aeroplan's mailing list, and later subscribed to their mailing list to get perks. I came because their Winterlicious menu looked delicious! I wanted to love this place, especially with such high reviews. Plus, I love a good steak, but my experience was horrible to say the least. I don't want to bring the R-word, but I felt racism at this restaurant. My family was the only Asian family and the server, whose name is David, gave subpar service. He kept wanting us to get a drink, but we all wanted hot water. It was a cold day and none of us felt like drinking. I also noticed the service David gave to other tables compared to my table. We did not get any water in our table, or were we greeted by him for fifteen whole minutes. David was super friendly with others, but not so with us. The food was.... I ordered a well done steak, because I didn't want to eat anything raw, but my steak came out completely burnt!!! Super unacceptable and David didn't even come by to check how our meal was going. Overall, I did not enjoy my experience. And of course, I have unsubscribed to Chop's mailing list, even if they give me a free steak, I would happily go to The Keg, where their steaks are much tastier, service is friendlier, and I don't experience any racism.

I was staying at a nearby hotel on a business trip, and a quick Google search brought me here for dinner. It was a Monday night, and you could tell it was a great choice by how busy it was. Definitely a bit on the pricey side, but the food was well prepared and flavorful. The service was friendly and the server started us with a complimentary dish- it was savory but sweet and set us up for the rest of the meal. I loved all the seafood dishes we ordered. I'm glad I was able to experience this restaurant on the company's dime ;)

The moment we cleared security, it felt like we stumbled upon a traveller's haven. The lounge is right after security, which is a blessing when you just want to drop your bags and relax. The space is enormous, with ample seating, and it never felt cramped even with a steady flow of guests. Whether you're a solo traveller or wrangling a group, there's a spot for everyone. Now, let's talk food and drinks, because that's where this lounge truly soars. The menu was extensive (and yes, I regret not snapping photos for proof!), but every dish we tried was delicious. We kicked things off with a tomato basil soup that was so good it could make you forget about your flight delays. For mains, the lemon pepper fish, chicken in curry, rice, fresh greens, and assorted desserts hit the spot beautifully--comfort food done right. Drinks are a treat too: I enjoyed a Great Lakes beer, which is part of their complimentary selection, though if you want to indulge in the finer spirits, be prepared to pay a little extra. A small note for fellow travellers: wait times can stretch during rush hours. We had to scan a QR code to join the waitlist, but honestly, the reception staff run the place like a well-oiled machine. From managing the line to the smooth entry process, everything was systematic and stress-free--a rare sight in any airport. All in all, this lounge turned our layover into a mini vacation. Great food, an inviting atmosphere, and staff who know how to keep things moving make this spot worth every minute of the wait. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait--and in this case, they come with curry, craft beer, and a comfy seat.

However, I see other people's photos and the interiors don't match either! I am currently flying international so I thought this was an international lounge. After I left the lounge, I discovered another Plaza Premium lounge near gate C31). So I asked the staff there. They said they were the official International lounge and I was in the Domestic lounge! So it appears Domestic and International departures have no security barrier between them, just the US departures have a secuirty barrier due to their advanced customs clearance at the Toronto airport. People using the lounge passes from credit cards are limited to 2 hours of use. You can pre-book your entry time if you wish for US$9/person. When you enter the lounge, you have to show your complimentary passes or purchase them. There is also a self-serve entry kiosk. The lounge looked clean. There are a few attendants picking up finished dishes and cleaning tables. We arrived at 07:00 with their breakfast service. There is plenty of options. There are 5 hot dishes (sausage, scrambled egg, potato wedges, baked beans, and egg burrito), oatmeal, salad (balsamic vinaigrette is available), cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, cereal, bakery items (bagel, bread, muffin), pop machine, and hot drinks machine. I like their milk hot chocolate. The latte was missing milk! The oatmeal is very watery and bland. There are 4 toppings but it didn't include brown sugar. The bar (for alcoholic beverages) opened before 08:00. All food and drinks are self-serve except for the alcohol. There are condiments. However, the condiment bottles/containers are with the food section, so i had to go back twice to put some pepper on my food; they don't have little pepper/salt packages. There are tables and counter seating for eating food, lounge chairs, etc. There is free WiFi. The lounge is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washroom and they are wheelchair accessible. Review 2026-112

I take Attwell Drive often. At the corner of this street and Reading Court, I always see the Residence Inn. I didn't know that there was this Moxies at Sandman Signature Toronto Hotel further down until I did a search for Moxies near my workplace. I love happy hour deals these days. I came here after work last Wednesday to check out this eatery. It's at the end of a secluded cul de sac. I actually want to stay at Sandman because it was so beautiful and quiet when I was there. There was plenty of parking. I backed into an available spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a cheerful female staffer. She led me to a booth near the corridor to the hotel from the restaurant. It was also where the washrooms were. I was near a couple of women with a baby. The baby was sweet and was quiet. It was my lucky day! This Moxies does have happy hour between 2 pm and 5 pm. I got here just after 3 pm. Perfect! The interior is gorgeous. It's the prettiest Moxies that I have ever dined in. I'd come back just to be in such a beautiful setting. I liked the separate room with the Blue Jays game on. There were a couple of guys watching the game there. Another special detail about this Moxies is that there's a test kitchen menu. It was my first time seeing it at any Moxies. My server was Joe. He was polite and nice. I got these items: - Hibiscus refresher - Dry ribs - Miso tuna crispy rice The hibiscus refresher was a part of the test kitchen menu. I got the non-alcoholic version. It was delicious. The hibiscus was so good with lime and cinnamon flavours. You can add tequila, but I liked it the way that it was. When I lived in Winnipeg, my go-to order was dry ribs with whatever salad I was craving. I relived half of it by getting dry ribs. It was great having them again. They were meaty and yummy, with the perfect amount of seasoning and salt. I was happy! I didn't know what miso tuna crispy rice was. So, I had to order it. It's essentially sushi-like pieces. There were six pieces of perfectly crispy rice mini bricks topped with miso tuna and mayo. I loved the contrast between the crunchy rice and fresh tuna mixture. It was delightful having this appetizer. I needed a drink. The only downside was that my server didn't drop by until I was done with my appetizers. I ordered a Diet Coke when he did, which I got immediately. It was much needed and icy! I was way too full to get any dessert. I got the bill instead. I tipped and tapped. Done! I used the women's washroom before I left. It was super fancy. It had a seating area in the middle of all single stalls. Wow! I'd come back here simply to enjoy good food and drinks in the most gorgeous eatery. Such a wonderful gem of a find! (181)

I do believe they are setting a precedent and catering to a demographic as more of an upscale Lounge. The service was great, server was attentive but also apologetic as she was bound to a strict menu. Worth checking out for the vibes.

The hooka is decent but they charge you with each change of coal. I had the shawarma poutine last time, it was delicious but def more tandoor flavoured meat than poutine but still tasty

I got the Power bowl and my partner got the dill pickle poutine. Generally good portion size and what felt like overall good value for money. The cocktails were very reasonably priced. It's also a cute, cozy atmosphere, and really nice for a hotel attached restaurant. Particularly when it seems to be non chain and many steps above the usual Denny's restaurant. Cons: A few on this visit. Floors felt really sticky in parts. It's a wood floor and I'm not sure if perhaps they used the wrong cleaner for the purpose, as I've had a similar thing happen to my apartment floor. Server said they would clean up the table. Bartender came up after 5 minutes waiting in the seats by the entrance. Asked if we had a seat, told him we were told to wait, then he immediately escorted us to a table. There was a little confusion between the server and bartender as they tried to tend to us sort of twice in the beginning. The place was about 80-90% full, and it looked like it was they were the only two working the front of house at the time, so I could understand if there was a bit of a problem. Looked like they were hurrying. Drinks arrived in a reasonable time though. Some miscommunication when bringing the food - the bartender was bringing it over and it was loud. He started auctioning off the food, so couldn't hear him, so we said, "what?" He replied, "oh, wrong table" and then sort of stormed off. Looked like they tried to sort out the confusion, and after about 5 minutes the server came to us to clairfy and explained what happened. Said the power bowl dish went to someone else but the person that got it, their order was being made so it'd be a small delay. She offered the 15% discount on food that diamond tier RSVP members at the Sandman hotel get. She was very apologetic about the incident. The bartender came at the end of the meal to provide the bill. They gave me the POS and then just left the table. MIght have been a one-off experience, the last review was six months ago. I would say the server was mostly good at remaining her composure. She seemed slightly flustered at the very beginning but things were busy. The bartender seemed to have gone a bit rogue and was a bit aloof to us. A single page menu had about 3 items off the menu, marked with white out. Could use a bit of an update. I'd probably check how busy it is before possibly ordering there again, opting for a delivery option instead.
