I give it a 2 because of the results I received. I did this test more so to see what tribes my ancestors are from. I had the understanding doing a paternal test may not have accurate results because slaves were raped so my lineage may not lead to Africa. But to just have Portugal. Results are too vague. Especially with the cost. Black people in America already don't have any way to know where and who we come from as far as the mother land is concerned. This DNA test is misleading. Even 23andme and ancestry told me my lineage is from Nigeria.

AFRICAN ANCESTRY - (www.africanancestry.com) ... MISLEADING, * WASTE OF MONEY, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and an * INSULT TO YOUR INTELLIGENCE. Similarly to Nick P & Cass H, I signed up for a Paternal ancestry test The results were VERY similar, VERY Suspect and VERY WRONG. Like Nick P, I was interested in finding out more about my African ancestry. Prior to this test, I took the 23&Me test https://www.23andme.com and the Ancestry.com test https://www.ancestry.com/ In addition to this, I have documented proof of a Slave Emancipation Registry from a National Archive to establish my African ancestry from my father's side. Hence, like Nick P., I was interested in finding more detailed information, so I sent in a DNA sample to Africanancestry.com for a Y chromosome analysis i.e. father's side or PatriClan. African Acessatory purports to have amassed the biggest library of African genetic data and is, therefore, able to specifically and accurately identify DNA from the Continent of Africa. They analyzed my DNA and approximately 8 weeks later, sent me a VERY flimsy certificate & brochure saying I had ancestors from Spain and Portugal ???? This was without equivocation ... PURE BS.... a FRAUD of the Highest Order. I don't use these word lightly considering the valuable service this organization claims to provide, not to mention the High price point relative to the other Genetic testing services. I contacted African ancestry ...with Evidentiary documentation and contradictory evidence. What I got from African Ancestry was nothing short of Attitude!!!!!.........(you could hear their eye-balls rolling!!!!) including & not limited to dismissiveness from Dr. Kittles. This was the Good Doctor's response: We reported the correct result for you. You have a European Y chromosome. You took a Y chromosome test from us, and we reported what we saw. Please check your 23andme Y chromosome result and then get back to me with an apology. Rick ------------------------------------------------------------------------ **Me: No .....Dr. Kittles, you owe ME an apology***** [Parts of my E.mail To & From Dr. Kittles]: ............................................................................................ Dr. Kittles: I am going to repeat myself, kindly refer to my attached PDF Your test contradicts the facts of my father family & history as per National Archive History records including 23&ME results.......... I kindly ask to have my results looked at again, to re-tested or a refund. The PDF I submitted which includes the 23&me results and documents from the .....national archive which contradicts your findings. I used Philia on May 10, 2024 through my employer's back up care provider. I used the nanny…read moreservices for my 2 & 4 year old. For most of the day just the 2 year old was home / with her. Danielle S was very nice, and I would be happy for her to come again. It sounds like she has good experience for the role. We had one incident where she took out 3 colors of play dough and was making shapes with the stamps......... ON THE CARPET. She didn't realize she was creating the marks (leaving play dough stuck in the carpet) and didn't realize it was a carpet (she said she thought it was a play mat). I think we all make mistakes. She apologized. She didn't blame my son. He has never done play dough anywhere on the floor or carpet, and never used more than one color. I read on the internet that one needs to wait for it to dry before trying to remove it. I contacted the company later that day and very politely asked "what are we going to do about it if it doesn't come off?" The admin lady blamed my child knowing nothing about the situation. She said the kid probably told her to do it... and more blaming things, which were completely not true. She said she would speak to a supervisor and get back to me. She, nor anyone did get back with me. That's very unprofessional with not covering for your employee's mistake, and getting back to me.

Finding Philia was the best thing that could have happened to our day care/nanny search. My husband…read moreand I were completely overwhelmed by the Washington, DC day care machine and really wanted a nanny once our child starts needing care. We found a neighbor to start a nanny share with and then dove head first into scouring the internet/care.com to find a nanny. What an overwhelming process! Then we found Philia and it just seemed too good to be a true - an organization that finds the nanny for you? That does all the pre-check work (background checks, interviews)? That handles all the administrative end of nannying (workers comp, insurance, payroll taxes)? How could it get better? Well it does. After a few emails with owner Kira, and then our initial in-person meeting, my husband and I were thrilled. Kira is passionate about her company and the services Philia offers and her response time & customer service are top notch. We have already met with and secured a nanny for our soon-to-be-arriving first child all thanks to Kira & Philia. Kira listens to your needs and wants and then she provides you with nannies that fit the bill. She takes SO MUCH of the time & stress out of nanny searching and we really couldn't be happier that we have started working with them for our childcare. Philia really, truly is DC's best kept secret right now!

Life Matters is at my house right now and is supposed to provide 4 hours of aid. I have cameras in…read moremy home due to my grandmother's health issues. I have been watching this lady sit in my grandmother's chair and watching Mom on TV since 11:46. My grandmother does not watch TV during the day, and even text me to hide the remotes the next time the aid is supposed to be there. She also told me that the aid went upstairs to look around, even though my granny, her bed, her clothes, and bathroom are all on the first floor - this upset my granny so much that she has talked about it since it happened... such a cruel thing to do for an Alzheimer's patient... My grandmother even got out of her bed, let her dogs out, and got back in bed without the aid even moving. I sure hope Mom reruns are enjoyable because I will be complaining of the care to Inova and anyone else who recommends Life Matters. I have been calling Life Matters to cancel any further visits for more than 30 minutes with no answer. Update - I finally reached someone. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the day and they would offer a "free" day for the trouble. They called and told the lady to leave, which I watched happen remotely. I've never seen anyone move so fast in my life. I was told this isn't what is expected of aids, which I believe is true, but in my opinion, this woman was far too comfortable walking in and just sitting there watching TV to not do this regularly. Thankfully, I was able to see what was happening, and hopefully it won't happen to someone else.
