He took a careful medical history, and spent the time to listen as well as inform us of the diagnosis and the options. He prescribed the ear drops and medication that ensured I felt better within a few hours so that I was able to be present for our daughter and heal. My telephone interactions with the organization's management personnel and the workers' supervisor were also excellent. They were professional, courteous and readily available. Where other agencies it was quite obvious that it was going to take time for them to evaluate if they wanted to help us. Georgetown Home Care was there the next day. We felt as if we were there only client. They found us a compatible aide and they were very caring as a company. Right up until the end. Which came as quick as the need for home care did. Overall very pleased with the responsiveness and the aides that were assigned to us.

This company is terribly disorganized. Communications and follow-through and abysmal! I am a…read moredisabled senior woman. I am recovering from major foot reconstruction surgery on my foot. After a fall right after my surgery I spent 4 days in the hospital. I have an injured elbow, a serious balance disorder and nerve pain in the same leg as my foot surgery. I'm a serious fall risk. Upon my hospital discharge 6 days ago, the hospital and my surgeon referred me to Caregivers for PT, OT, Nurses, and a home health aide. So far I saw a nurse 4 days ago who recommended a wheelchair for me, but did NOTHING about ordering one for me. I've had to coordinate all of that myself. Two other nurses have called to see me just days after the initial visit. I saw a PT today who seemed to have limited knowledge of my other physical complaints. The OT I coordinated myself. The home health aide? So far she's just a promise that has failed to materialize. Both my social worker and my doctor's office have reached out to Caregivers multiple times for the last 4 days, and each time they're told that "it's all coordinated, I just have to wait". It's been 10 days since I last bathed. I'm miserable! If you're good with do-it-yourself home healthcare, this is the company for you. From my perspective, I want caregivers who really care about caring for the people they've been contracted to care for.

I have been watching this lady sit in my grandmother's chair and watching Mom on TV since 11:46. My grandmother does not watch TV during the day, and even text me to hide the remotes the next time the aid is supposed to be there. She also told me that the aid went upstairs to look around, even though my granny, her bed, her clothes, and bathroom are all on the first floor - this upset my granny so much that she has talked about it since it happened... such a cruel thing to do for an Alzheimer's patient... My grandmother even got out of her bed, let her dogs out, and got back in bed without the aid even moving. I sure hope Mom reruns are enjoyable because I will be complaining of the care to Inova and anyone else who recommends Life Matters. I have been calling Life Matters to cancel any further visits for more than 30 minutes with no answer. Update - I finally reached someone. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the day and they would offer a "free" day for the trouble. They called and told the lady to leave, which I watched happen remotely. I've never seen anyone move so fast in my life. I was told this isn't what is expected of aids, which I believe is true, but in my opinion, this woman was far too comfortable walking in and just sitting there watching TV to not do this regularly. Thankfully, I was able to see what was happening, and hopefully it won't happen to someone else.

Sadly, there was no continuity from one visit to the next. All I received was an email summarizing my sister's physician visit that I could easily have obtained, as medical POA, without paying $300+ for info I could have easily from the physicians' office directly. The geriatric care manager concept is a sound idea. However, attempting to effectuate it with no staff continuity devalues the service. This is a temp service, not professional geriatric care management.

I felt on my own and as if Corewood never saw these things as real problems. They had many reasons & explanations which I understood at the time, but I got tired of trying to accept struggling on my own to get simple things you would need and that you are paying for.
