We did not have them long but they were Pleasant, Knowledgeable, helpful and Caring. They were all terrific. The day Enjolina came to do the eval. the patient was not doing well and Enjolina noted our concern, made phone calls for us and helped us get to the decision we were struggling with. My sister-in-law was serious distress with a bad bacterial infection and needed attention. Enjolina was great! My phone calls with Kathy at the Virginia office was efficient and helpful. I would use again and refer gladly. Thank you all for caring and helping during a difficult time. A, Costello

Brian the OT therapist was much better. After about 4 weeks, due to political tension between the PT & OT groups, the OT was directed to stop working on strengthening her legs and focus on her arms. The PT continued to work ineffectively on leg strength. My wife was making progress with OT before he was told to focus only on arm strength. The OT evaluator recommended we continue, but all home therapy was ended by the PT evaluator. When I called the Silver Spring office twice and left messages, to inquire about the status of my wife's therapy, they never returned my calls.

I used Philia on May 10, 2024 through my employer's back up care provider. I used the nanny…read moreservices for my 2 & 4 year old. For most of the day just the 2 year old was home / with her. Danielle S was very nice, and I would be happy for her to come again. It sounds like she has good experience for the role. We had one incident where she took out 3 colors of play dough and was making shapes with the stamps......... ON THE CARPET. She didn't realize she was creating the marks (leaving play dough stuck in the carpet) and didn't realize it was a carpet (she said she thought it was a play mat). I think we all make mistakes. She apologized. She didn't blame my son. He has never done play dough anywhere on the floor or carpet, and never used more than one color. I read on the internet that one needs to wait for it to dry before trying to remove it. I contacted the company later that day and very politely asked "what are we going to do about it if it doesn't come off?" The admin lady blamed my child knowing nothing about the situation. She said the kid probably told her to do it... and more blaming things, which were completely not true. She said she would speak to a supervisor and get back to me. She, nor anyone did get back with me. That's very unprofessional with not covering for your employee's mistake, and getting back to me.

My husband…read moreand I were completely overwhelmed by the Washington, DC day care machine and really wanted a nanny once our child starts needing care. We found a neighbor to start a nanny share with and then dove head first into scouring the internet/care.com to find a nanny. What an overwhelming process! Then we found Philia and it just seemed too good to be a true - an organization that finds the nanny for you? That does all the pre-check work (background checks, interviews)? That handles all the administrative end of nannying (workers comp, insurance, payroll taxes)? How could it get better? Well it does. After a few emails with owner Kira, and then our initial in-person meeting, my husband and I were thrilled. Kira is passionate about her company and the services Philia offers and her response time & customer service are top notch. We have already met with and secured a nanny for our soon-to-be-arriving first child all thanks to Kira & Philia. Kira listens to your needs and wants and then she provides you with nannies that fit the bill. She takes SO MUCH of the time & stress out of nanny searching and we really couldn't be happier that we have started working with them for our childcare. Philia really, truly is DC's best kept secret right now!

After a fall right after my surgery I spent 4 days in the hospital. I have an injured elbow, a serious balance disorder and nerve pain in the same leg as my foot surgery. I'm a serious fall risk. Upon my hospital discharge 6 days ago, the hospital and my surgeon referred me to Caregivers for PT, OT, Nurses, and a home health aide. So far I saw a nurse 4 days ago who recommended a wheelchair for me, but did NOTHING about ordering one for me. I've had to coordinate all of that myself. Two other nurses have called to see me just days after the initial visit. I saw a PT today who seemed to have limited knowledge of my other physical complaints. The OT I coordinated myself. The home health aide? So far she's just a promise that has failed to materialize. Both my social worker and my doctor's office have reached out to Caregivers multiple times for the last 4 days, and each time they're told that "it's all coordinated, I just have to wait". It's been 10 days since I last bathed. I'm miserable! If you're good with do-it-yourself home healthcare, this is the company for you. From my perspective, I want caregivers who really care about caring for the people they've been contracted to care for.

I had a very stressful and disappointing experience with Lenox Medical Supply / ScooterPlus…read moreRentals, and I would not recommend this company. This was a disability-related mobility rental while I was far from home and depending on the equipment to safely get around for meetings and obligations. The wheelchair provided did not meet my mobility needs, with issues involving the wheels and leg rests that made it difficult and unsafe for me to rely on. I contacted customer service to resolve the problem and was willing to accept a scooter replacement. However, after speaking with Chris, the trust was gone. His communication felt hostile, dismissive, and disrespectful at a time when I was already stressed and trying not to miss important meetings. The delivery driver was friendly and helpful, but the customer service experience was unacceptable. I also could not get clear answers about corporate, ownership, or escalation. The pickup process added more stress because it took too long for them to retrieve the wheelchair, and I had to deal with the hotel calling me and moving the equipment between my room and the lobby. Because I could not risk being without mobility access, I had to rent from another company that was respectful, professional, and provided reliable equipment. I paid additional money because of this situation. I requested a refund and was told I could not get one, so I am now having to go through other complaint channels. For a company providing medical and mobility equipment, compassion, communication, reliability, and professionalism should be the standard. This experience affected my trip, my meetings, my stress level, and my finances.

My elderly father spent 10 days at this facility following a hospitalization for broken ribs…read more Prior to his transfer to the facility, he could walk short distances with a walker and was able to go to the restroom on his own without supervision. PT at the hospital also had him up and walking daily to support his strength and mobility. Upon intake, this facility immediately labeled my father a fall risk and he was not allowed to use the restroom on his own or to get up out of bed at all. He was forced to wear a diaper and soil himself and his bed because no one had time to help him to the restroom. When he asked a staff member to help him to the restroom, he heard a senior staff member tell her to "Just let them go in their diapers and change them. It takes too much time to help them to the bathroom." As for "rehab", my father received PT for 30 minutes on four of the 10 days he was there. When he started to experience drops in blood pressure when standing, PT simply quit working with him instead of working with him while he was seated or lying down. He spent the remaining six days lying in bed losing muscle mass. Appallingly, in 10 days he was not given a shower and he was never allowed to brush or floss his teeth. Proper topical medications were not applied to his skin, so it is now dry, peeling, and covered with plaques. Additionally, because my father has celiac disease and is allergic to wheat, he needs a gluten free diet. At this facility, that meant he was given two hard boiled eggs and a strip of bacon for both breakfast and lunch with a plain piece of chicken and mushy canned vegetables for dinner. He was given only room temperature water to drink. In 10 days, he lost 30 lbs from not being properly fed and not receiving PT. For the duration of his stay, I attempted to contact members of his "care" team - nurse, doctor, PT - multiple times daily. I never received return calls. The only staff member who communicated with me regularly was the unit manager, Esther, who is lovely human. Unfortunately, she is in the unfavorable position of trying to cover for everyone who is not doing their jobs well. Terri and Kevin, the CNAs, are also fantastic humans. Ironically, once I informed the facility that I was pulling him out due to poor care, every single member of his "care" team called me within an hour to discourage that decision. When I finally realized that my father was being horribly neglected and pulled him out of this facility on day 11 (against their "advice"), my father was so weak he was unable to stand up or walk on his own. He was dehydrated and malnourished, requiring IV fluids the same day I picked him up. The discharge paperwork I was provided contained multiple inaccuracies regarding his medical conditions and was riddled with misspellings. I was not provided with a referral for in-home PT, despite multiple requests, and my father never received the shower chair and rollator walker that were billed to his insurance. Surely, on some level, this must be considered fraudulent. Sadly, it is clear that this facility only wants to collect funds and not be bothered by the patients or deal with the families. I shudder to think what would have happened if we were not in the position to provide this care for him. Moreover; the fact that this facility was receiving funds from insurance and Medicare while failing to deliver treatment to my father is quite clearly insurance fraud. If you need to place a loved one in a rehab facility and you have the luxury of time, please do your research. While most facilities are facing understaffing, there are many that still provide excellent care. This facility is by far the worst that my father has been in and I do not recommend it to anyone. The name is misleading, as our overall experience has been one that does NOT inspire.

The Inspire Rehab facility is a sham and I feel very sorry for anyone who lives there…read more The staff is without a doubt the worst staff I have ever seen. They are rude, aggressive and dangerous. How do I know this? I live just next to this facility and I see these staff members. They take breaks and drink alcohol, smoke weed and probably partake in other sorts of illicit drugs. THEN THEY GO BACK TO WORK AND TAKE CARE OF THE RESIDENTS! They drop their trash on the ground including biologic hazardous trash! I have engaged Inspire management several times regarding these problems. Never once have I ever felt like management cared to hear what I have to say and never once did anything ever change. The interior of Inspire is dirty, old and unkempt. If you have any option at all, do not get sent to Inspire and do not let your friends or family get sent there.
