I called my Haitian friend and asked the best place to get good authentic Creole food and she suggested this spot and it didn't disappoint at all, I had a staple dish and which is the Griot and it smacked When you pull in its a lot of construction taken place over there but it's worth the hassle to get around to this side of the restaurant, it shares the plaza with another business , but look good on the end you'll see the cozy restaurant. When I went in it took them a moment to come out and serve me because I take them prep to order that's the only downside other than that amazing!! Delicious food. I've been here several times and the food is always fresh. The soup joumou is so filling. The legume is always perfect and their pikliz is just the right amount of spice to add to your meal. I've had authentic Haitian food before and this comes pretty freaking close. I've tried other Haitian restaurants in Atlanta/Atlanta are and this one is definitely the winner. Food always taste fresh. The amount of food you receive is so worth the price. The turkey is a hit or miss for me. I've ordered it on two separate occasions and one time it was perfectly cooked & moist and the other it was dry. I don't know about you, but dry turkey is not appetizing. That would be my only complaint. My next meal will be the red snapper. I've seen other people order it and it always looks so delicious. I read about this restaurant from Lakol Magazine, a local publication. At the time they were one of the few restaurants open that sold the traditional New Year Day Pumpkin Soup (Joumou). I ordered it for my family and recently came back to grab a breakfast bite. Unfortunately, they are not open for breakfast but they do offer meat pies in the morning. Since moving to Atlanta I have been in search of some good homemade Haitian food and was told to give C'EST Si Bon a try. I called to find out what days they made Makawoni au Graten and was told Saturday so I decided to try them out the next weekend. I went there only to be disappointed no Makawoni au Graten She said they were out and it was only 1pm and they weren't making anymore. Everything I asked for including pates were out. I ended up trying the black rice, potato salad, plantains, and legume. I was told to come back the next day at 1pm for Makawoni au Graten. I called the next day at 1:30pm and was told she just got out of church she's not sure what time she will open. Oho so no normal business hours. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement the food was just ok definitely not worth the price and the customer service definitely needed some work. Located a while away off of Windy Hill, this tiny little restaurant offers a rather odd experience mixed with some delicious food. After parking in what seems like a tragedy of a parking lot, I walked myself into this quiet Caribbean restaurant. I was greeted by a gentlemen behind the counter and all of his attention was on me. Well, it had to be, I was the only customer there during this lunch rush. Saddened by the lack of liveliness in the room, I quickly ordered and sat myself down at one of the cheap looking tables. I began to feel obligated to chit chat with the server/cashier since it felt like we were the only ones with a heartbeat within a five mile radius. Awkward, but pleasantly nice fellow. Oxtail was the name of the game this time and I was excited to try this Haitian delicacy. This dish requires hours and hours of cooking in order to be eaten correctly, meaning it can be rubber-tough if not made with care and time. I bit into this nice morsel of cow meat and fat. The savory red sauce complimented the style of this dish well and the meat was delicious. It wasn't fall off of the bone, but soft enough to not require the jaws of life. On the side were rice and beans, which complimented the meal well enough, though I longed for something more. I can see the strengths of this restaurant very well, and it hides some of the weaknesses, but that's what I didn't expect of this place. I expected something more of the surroundings and desired a cultured filled room that grants a nice aura of welcome. Amazing place! The food is great, the prices are more than reasonable, the portion sizes are massive, the bathroom is surprisingly very clean, and the workers are very nice. Only downsides are the limited menu on Mondays's since they don't work on Sunday's thus having not prepped anything the day before and it was frigid in there. They only had a space heater, but that's not going to cut it if there are others dining in along with us. Other than that, the food is fantastic and you cannot beat the value. There are few and far Haitian restaurants in Atlanta. There are many Caribbean spots, but they do not serve Haitian food. I have been a faithful customer for over a year and typically have a great experience. The location is in a shopping plaza, that isn't necessarily the best to look at. However the food has never disappointed me. The only time I've been sad is when they run out of Haitian pate (which is a flaky puff with meat inside: beef, fish, or chicken). The Legume (can be veggie or include beef type stew) is amazing, Tassot Dein (Fried Turkey) is yummy, just doesn't come with a large portion in comparison to the rice. They have piklizs (spicy slaw for garnishes food) and banan peze (fried green plantains).
