I returned to Yalda for brunch after a really enjoyable dinner here about a year ago, and I was expecting a similar level of care. This visit was a different story. The space is still striking. The decor is beautiful, layered, and clearly intentional. There was a live DJ on Sunday playing light, upbeat music that added a nice energy without being distracting. On paper, it had all the makings of a great brunch. In practice, it felt a bit off from the start. The hostess was not particularly warm, which is noticeable when you walk into a place that is otherwise completely empty at 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday. That alone gave me pause. Upon arriving at my table I noticed that the seating, upholstered in a light velvet, was visibly worn and stained across the board. It is a material that looks lovely in theory but tells on you quickly if not maintained. Mine certainly did. My appetizer plate also had old crusted food stuck on it, which I had to send back immediately. Not an ideal opening. I ordered an Istanbul Board-a mix of cheeses, fruit, olives, and spreads like cherry and honeycomb. It was fine, but when I asked about the cheeses, no one could identify them. Not the server, not the kitchen. I was told they were essentially from a mixed box and could not be distinguished. That takes some of the experience out of what is meant to feel curated. For my main, I ordered a beef sausage and potato hash. It arrived heavy, oily, and lacking in flavor. The potatoes were soft to the point of being mushy, and the overall texture leaned more toward something that had been sitting than something freshly prepared. I gave it a fair try and then quietly moved on. The one standout was the pomegranate fizz. Bright, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted it to be. I would return for that alone, just not attached to this particular meal. I am open to giving dinner another try based on my previous visit, but brunch missed the mark in both execution and attention to detail.

This place lived up to expectations. I had several friends including Persian friends recommend this place. Initially I was skeptical thinking nothing can beat other restaurants in town like Rumi's, Delbar or Zafron. I was in for a surprise! I came here for my birthday and my friend and I ordered drinks that just blew our minds. The first one I got was Jigar Tala which was made up of saffron, cardomom and vodka. The saffron really came through which tells you this place uses quality ingredients and they make their syrups and and infused liquors in house. The second one, my favorite drink was Mitra's Habibi which is made up of Sumac syrup, gin, saffron bitters. I wanted to take this drink home with me and or learn to make it myself. I also got vegetable soup which was made up of tomato and red pepper broth and vegetable simmered in saffron and few other spices. If I can replicate a portion of the dishes or drinks at home; it would be amazing! Highly recommend going here for special occasion for their service, delicious cocktails and entrees and beautiful ambiance.

Yalda Yalda Yalda, I was so impressed with you. I personally wasn't feeling the best the night of our visit but it was my loved ones birthday and we already had Yalda on our itinerary for weeks so I went anyways. I had absolutely no appetite but we ordered a few things to share thinking I'd just nibble so I could participate in the celebration.. everything that hit the table was so good it woke my appetite right up out of its slumber. We ordered Hummus and Chicken wings as our starters. That Hummus was so smooth and creamy, the pita bread were soft and buttery. The chicken wings rubbed with Harissa were so flavorful and although I prefer a crispier wing they were still very good. For Mains we ordered Salmon and Beef Shish Kebabs. I can't speak too much on that beef because it was just ok, but that SALMON, baby, GET THAT. I am dairy free so we opted for no butter and I kid you not I didn't feel like anything was missing. I wasn't able to eat the sides because I was told they were made with butter and didn't wanna compromise the meal but that salmon was on point. Would love to go back for that hummus and salmon again. Additionally the staff were kind enough to let us utilize the top floor for a little photoshoot for the birthday girl since it was close to closing. Yalda is such a beautiful location and perfect for date nights, girls nights, company dinners, and celebrations.. we truly had a wonderful time. Thank you Yalda & staff for taking care of us on this very special night. If I lived here I'd be here all the time, feel free to expand to Oahu, HI we'd love to have you! LOL

Need to do an update of this review... My work team has visited this location many, many times. The food is excellent and is always very fresh and flavorful. It has a nice interior set up and a nice patio for when the weather is nice. My only heads up is that the service is a little slow but for the type of restaurant, this is not a problem.

The food was great, the service was great, and the location is perfect! I absolutely love this place and am so excited to have a delicious Persian restaurant right here in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area. I usually drive to Buckhead for Delbar or up to Alpharetta for Rumi's, but now, I don't have to with Yalda right in the neighborhood! !

Middle East, meet North Atlanta! My wife and I were undecided on what we wanted for dinner (no surprise there) but a quick google search led us to Yalda. Located in Aria Village, valet parking is available or you can self-park for free in the garage. The restaurant was appropriately crowded on a Thursday night. The weather was unseasonably warm and so the patio was nearly full. The patio is sizeable and covered, with comfortable seating and beautiful greenery. The interior is beautiful, floor to ceiling, from the rugs, bar, and tall windows and curtains to the chandeliers and trendy hanging flowers. There's a semi-open kitchen - with a good view of the flames. The vibe is elevated, but we wore jeans and "going out tops" and fit right in. We enjoyed the following: Yalda Classics (Cocktails) and Sparkling * Mitra's Habibi cocktail ($16) - Conniption Gin, saffron bitters, lemon, sumac syrup, honey (contains dairy) *Midnight Star ($15) Piggyback rye, foro amaro, prohibition bitters, star anise Spreads * Hummus ($11) - ground chickpea, garlic, tahini, extra virgin olive oil * Za'atar Labneh ($12) - strained yogurt, za'atar, olive oil Specialty Entrees - cooked on Yalda's open-flame grill * Shirazi Salad (separately $10) - chopped tomato, red onion, cucumber, parsley, lemon vinaigrette * Soltani kabob- beef koobideh kabob, beef barg kabob, saffron basmati rice Overall, the food was amazing. The spreads were delicious, and seemed to have have an extra level of quality and sophistication to them compared to the average Middle Eastern sit-down restaurant. The soltani kabob was tasty and marinated perfectly. The meat was rich and grilled to perfection with a grilled tomato on the side, as well as fragrant basmati rice. The salad was refreshing and complimented our entrée nicely. Service was great. Unfortunately or first server left early due to losing her voice, but her replacement was just as kind and professional. I'll be back!

Middle eastern food is usually not my go to, but this place was so top tier! The service they provided us was so attentive and informative. My friends did not know a lot about the Persian seasoning and dishes and our waiter really took his time explaning and providing us recommendations. I got the salmon kabob and it was so well cooked and seasoned. The star of the night was their espresso martinis! They used a house rum that really elevated the taste and made it creamier! The overall vibe of the place is very instagramable and can also be a perfect setting for a first date or an anniversary! Modern vibes! I would def come back

Tried Yalda in Sandy Springs for lunch and wow....it did not disappoint. The space is beautiful, the service was top-tier, and the food was so good! We started with the kashk bademjoon (an eggplant dip) and hummus, paired with warm, fresh Naan....YUM!! I ordered the barg kabob, and THAT beef tenderloin was soooo tender and full of flavor. Already thinking about my next visit. Definitely a must try!

A nice Persian restaurant with fabulous interiors. They have a mezzanine seating and covered outdoor seating. We need to make reservations to get a table as it becomes crazy busy. The staff are very welcomimg, patient and will go beyond to explain the menu, suggest items and check on the food. The presentation of the food is top notch. Each and every dish is meticulously arranged. The starters are within a nice price range but entreees go beyond 15. Food is very good; tasty and fresh. The drinks and desserts have a separate menu. Try anything with pickled mushrooms and you will have no complaints.

YALL NEED TO HEAD TO YALDA | perfect for a girls night out, the girls gathered at Yalda for the much needed catch up sesh! The restaurant interior is gorgeous - definitely one of the most insta-worthy restaurants in Sandy Springs, by far. Our table had perfect lighting streaming in during golden hour. First off: cocktails. My fave on the menu is the Mitra's Habibi. And it's not just a pretty pink drink, it's creamy and tasty - and I'm a sucker for a gin cocktail. Almost everything we ordered was delicious - shared the hummus (PRO TIP: add the lamb shawarma, you won't be sorry and you will only regret it if you don't!) and the wings (AN ABSOLUTE MUST, especially with the harissa aioli). I wasn't a huge fan of the bademjoon torsh - the kashk bademjoon is much better (both are eggplant dishes, but the former dish was cold and texture was unappetizing). And even though I was stuffed, I ordered the chinjeh, which was a hearty, meaty entree I mostly took home for lunch the next day. Our service, on the other hand, was a bit lacking. She started off ok, but as the night went on, she would take our dishes without asking if we were done and never refilled our waters the entire time. I'm assuming that since it's been a while since our visit, she is no longer working there, because it seemed like she had no enthusiasm to serve us at all. I'm assuming that experience was a fluke and that won't happen again. Yalda is the perfect spot for celebration, date night, girls night out or just because!

We had an enjoyable dinner last night at Yalda's original location in Sandy Springs. The food and drink were good. Delbar, Rumi's Kitchen, and Yalda are the top three restaurants that come to mind for me for best Persian and Middle Eastern sit-down food in metro Atlanta. My wife and I had dinner at the West Midtown location four months ago (June 2025). We thought the food there was better, for what it's worth. This Sandy Springs location opened on December 27, 2022 in the Aria Village mixed-use development. Food Terminal also has a location here. The restaurant has valet parking or you can self-park for free in the Aria Village garage. There are garage entrances on both Aria Blvd (underneath La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant) and Aria Village Dr. This place is popular. Book reservations using Resy. At the time of writing this review: (1) Yalda is on Seated with 10% rewards. (2) American Express Platinum Card members get up to $100 in statement credits each quarter with Resy. If you don't know what Seated is (app), it gives you free money back at restaurants listed in the app. Use my referral code daniel1945 to get an additional $10 after your first meal at an activated restaurant. There's no catch. We had a party of nine, including one baby. The restaurant was expectedly packed on a Saturday night. It was quite busy, but we were comfortable. The dining room was dark -- darker than what we experienced at the West Midtown location. I saw people at different tables using their phone lights to read menus. Upstairs, a server had to turn on the lights to take a picture for a table. The restaurant is beautiful, floor to ceiling, from the rugs, bar, and tall windows and curtains to the chandeliers and trendy hanging flowers. There's a semi-open kitchen - with plenty of flame action - and a fully-enclosed patio. The vibe is elevated, but you can come dressed casually if you want. I think the West Midtown location looks slightly better. Our table shared spreads and each couple/group got their own entrees. Here's what my wife and I had: Yalda Classics (Cocktails) and Sparkling * Mitra's Habibi cocktail ($16) - Conniption Gin, saffron bitters, lemon, sumac syrup, honey (contains dairy) Sparking * Piper Sonoma Brut Rosé sparkling wine - Sonoma, California ($15 glass) Spreads * Kashk Bademjoon ($14) - fried eggplant, cream of whey, mint, crispy onion and garlic * Mirza Ghasemi ($14) - smoked eggplant, tomato, garlic * Hummus ($11) - ground chickpea, garlic, tahini, extra virgin olive oil * Za'atar Labneh ($12) with Lamb Shawarma Meat (+$6) - strained yogurt, za'atar, olive oil * Za'atar Labneh ($12) with Pickled Mushroom (+$5) - strained yogurt, za'atar, olive oil Specialty Entrees - cooked on Yalda's open-flame grill * Chilean Seabass ($49) - saffron marinated; subbed out fava bean and dill rice for Beet Salad listed below * Beet Salad (separately $15; price as side, unknown - not listed on menu) - pickled beets and onion, walnut, greens, goat milk feta cheese, pomegranate vinaigrette * Chicken Barg (entree $27; a la carte price unknown - not listed on menu) - marinated pounded chicken breast Rice & Potato * Albaloo Polo - Sour Cherry - Tahdig Rice version ($12) "limited" We ordered a lot of the same items that we had a few months ago at the West Midtown location. That included the Mitra's Habibi cocktail which was well made at this location and equally as tasty (recommended). Generous pour on the Piper Sonoma Brut Rosé. Overall, the food was delicious. The spreads were fantastic. They're some of the best things about Yalda. In general, the spreads have an extra level of quality and sophistication to them compared to the average Middle Eastern sit-down restaurant. I like the savory flavor and different textures of the Kashk Bademjoon. If you want to try something different, I suggest the Za'atar Labneh with Pickled Mushroom. But even simpler spreads like the Mirza Ghasemi and Hummus were excellent. The Chilean Seabass was terrific. The fish was rich, meaty, and flavorful with a yummy green saffron sauce poured on top. I think we received a full serving of the Beet Salad as a "side." We had this same salad at the West Midtown location and were not disappointed here. The salad was fresh with thick, refreshing slices of multi-colored beets. The Chicken Barg wasn't bad and a relatively healthy choice. The Sour Cherry Tahdig Rice (Albaloo Polo) was our favorite from the West Midtown location that we ordered again here. It's an addictive rice dish that's served with a crispy caramelized top. I thought the scorched rice bits were a bit too hard and crunchy (West Midtown did it better), but the dish was still delectable. If there's only one thing I'd recommend at Yalda, it's this. It's like the Persian version of Korean dolsot bibimbap or Vietnamese cơm cháy. Service was great. Our server was Brendan. He was friendly, attentive, and helpful. He's off every Sunday and Monday.

How does it compare to delbar?

Honestly I prefer Delbar over yalda anyday. The flavors at Delbar are much better and even the portions as well!

Is any of the meat halal?

According to the staff I spoke to, all the meat is halal except the Cornish hen

Do you accept reservations for outdoor seating?

For food, I have tried complimentary Sabzi plate, Zafron Special, Grilled Chicken Wings, Khoresh Badenjoon and Lubia Polo. I will describe them detailly below. 1. Sabzi: sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, walnuts, herbs, feta. Served with perfectly baked Naan 2. Zafron Special: an interesting app with mashed eggplant, diced mango, chopped green onions, herbs, and chili oil. Had a refreshing heat and sweetness. Perhaps the spiciest dish I've ever had in Persian restaurants! 3. Wings: I have tried the wings in Delbar, Divan and Yalda before, but Zafron's were just next-level. Perfectly coated in Saffron marinade, nicely charred, amazingly crispy skin and juicy meat. The side sauce was sweet and slightly spicy, whcih paired well with the wings. 4. Khoresh Badenjoon: Basically beef, eggplant and tomato stew. Compared to the similar items in Rumi's, Delbar and Sufi's, this one has the boldest flavor. It does not have beans (so good for a FODMAP control diet) and used lots of dried limes and (whole) cardamoms, which created a very bright, sour base. Compared to Rumi's and Sufi's version, this one also had more, and larger chunks of beef, which gave more texture when you take a bite. The eggplant was delicious, but I wish it could be skin-on like the one in Delbar. 5. Lubia Polo: Basically green beans and diced beef cooked with rice. I only had Lubia Polo in Rumi's Sandy Springs before. In comparison, this one had more beef, and slightly less salty, but did not have as much tomato paste. **Note** the comparisons are only for the purpose of a clearer description of the dishes. For service, the waiting time for both food and check were reasonable, and the staff were all friendly. During my second visit my server gave me 0.5lb of baked naan and extra Sabzi when I asked for a to-go box for just the leftovers... For vibe, it was quieter than many other popular Persian restaurants (but I like more noise haha), and thus walk-ins are possible. The trees inside the restaurant were beautiful. In short, highly recommended. I will definitely visit again to discover more dishes!

You come in and it's a large shop but it's not a lot. Most of the space there is going to be seating. You can look around and they have a little market area but the market area is very small. They do have particular specific items so you can check that out while you wait for your food. You can see the menus on the board and everybody there is super friendly and they'll explain anything to you. We had a pretty good short conversation while I waited. Love the customer service . Hummus - I tried the hummus and it was okay. Nothing crazy about it and it was just regular and not like it was roasted red pepper or garlic or anything like that but it was decent . Chicken shawarma wrap - the wrap was pretty good. It wasn't great but it was pretty good. It had a lot of color to it, meaning they were seasoning it for sure, but the flavor was only okay. The flavor was not popping out of your mouth but it was a decent but subtle flavor. It was super tender! Chicken kabob - the kebab plate came with two skewers and rice with a salad and it came with some garlic sauce as well. I think that the kebab was better than the shawarma to me. It had the same char flavor but mixed with the rice and the garlic sauce, it took it up another notch as well. You got a lot of it though so it wasn't like you only got two pieces of meat per skewer and a small handful of rice. You got a bed of rice so it was really good. The salad was low quality but I really didn't care about that because I didn't come for salad lol. Overall you paid maybe like $12 or $14 for this. It wasn't bad for a full plate . All in all it was a pretty decent experience. They're very customer-oriented and customer-friendly so you go in there, you will be fine. They'll take care of you

We started with the mezze trio served with crudité and pita bread. All of the dips were fresh and flavorful, my personal favorite was the labneh. It was smooth, creamy, and absolutely delicious! For our entrees, I ordered the chicken kabob and my mom chose the lamb kabob. Both dishes came with a grilled tomato, peppers, a red onion salad, rice, and an assortment of sauces. The veggies were refreshing and slightly sweet, and the meats were perfectly seasoned and juicy!! And the sauces were all amazing and truly elevated the entire meal. From the food to the experience, everything was exceptional. We will absolutely be back, and I highly recommend Layaly for a special occasion or any time you want an outstanding meal!

I was offered a table vs. my go to (bar seating) I'm assuming because they weren't very busy. The server was very friendly and made great recommendations, so I went with the chicken kebab. This was marinated in a delicious mixture of flavors and was very tender. The basmati rice was fragrant and steaming hot. For dessert, they recommended the knafeh, a sweet, cheesy, and crunchy traditional dish. This dish came with warmed orange blossom simple syrup which just set the tone for the entire dish. It was so delicious, nothing like I've ever had. The perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy. I will definitely come back here and try more food and definitely that Dubai chocolate cheesecake!

The interior is very mom and pop with soft lighting and old ceiling tiles but well maintained with an obvious attention to detail and care. There is limited seating inside; you've got long padded benches set in the walls and small tables. They seem ideal for parties of 4 or take-out. You can squeeze maybe one bigger party inside if you really want. I snagged a lamb sandwich on recommendation; it comed your choice of a chopped salad, cup of soup, or rice. I ended up going with the soup of the day which is a curry chickpea. The lamb sandwich was a definite winner. There's a lot of care and that same attention to detail to constructing it. There was a 15ish minute wait but perfectly acceptable since it all came out fresh. The lamb slices were super juicy and flavorful and the sauce added that extra spicy but not too spicy kick that went well with the softness of the pita and the crunch of the fresh lettuce. The soup was piping hot so I had to wait a few minutes to let it cool but flavorful and smooth. I'd gotten it as a potential dip but the sandwich did'nt need it so I'd probably go with the chopped salad next time. Overall, Cafe Sababa does a lot of what I enjoy in Mediterranean. I'd definitely stop in again and try out more items on their menu if I was in the area. A very good first impression.
