So, on yet another day of my wife and I having no idea what we wanted to have for dinner we decided to let Google be our guide. Google pointed us to Yalda and I might be letting Google pick my restaurants for the forseeable future. Let's get into it! Location and Parking Yalda is located the bustling Aria Village in Sandy Spring, which is a small retail center that is home to quite a few businesses. Yalda offers valet parking or you can self-park for free in the garage. Venue and Atmosphere The restaurant was appropriately crowded on a Thursday night. It was warm that day so we opted to sit on the patio, which was almost full. The interior is beautiful. There's a semi-open kitchen - with a good view of the flames. The vibe teetered on between elevated and casual, either way you'd definitely fit in. Food and Drinks For drinks, my wife had the Mitra's Habibi which is a gin based cocktail and as always I stuck with bourbon had the Midnight Star. We started with the hummus and the Za'atar Labneh, both which were very good. The star of the show was the Soltani kabob we shared. It was marinated to perfection and cooked over the open flame. The basmati rice was fragrant and flavorful and paired nicely. We also shared the Shirazi salad, which added.a refreshing feel to the entree. Service Service was great. Our servers were professional and attentive. Verdict Always a lover of Mediterranean food, Yalda has definitely earned a customer in me. If you're ever in Sandy Springs pay them a visit. We came here for a random Friday dinner. We had the branzino. I thought the fish was a minute too cooked. It came with the rice with potatoes and spices. The spices in the rice were overpowering and my partner didn't enjoy it as much. The potatoes were extra crunchy and a bit burnt... unsure if it was overdone or on purpose. It smelled like was it cooked in coconut oil. I would say 7 out of 10 overall. The lamb neck was recommended by the waiter. It was really good, slow cooked and the meat was tender. The sauce was unremarkable. The waiter gave us a house made spicy sauce and made this dish significantly better. I would say 9/10 overall. The hummus with the pickled mushroom was amazing. It was topped off with truffle oil and I just couldn't keep my hands off of it. I would say 10/10. I just want to point out the bill had a notice that says "tips are based on check prices after taxes" was confusing and unsure why would company charge tips on top of taxes. Nothing about my first time to the new Rumi's was positive. For a 9 o'clock reservation we didn't get seated until well after ten o'clock. While we waited, we sat at the bar. I ordered a simple Bombay martini and one of the specialty cocktails for my wife. The bartender made my martini in a shaker and I remember hearing him asking someone else to stir it for him. For the next ten minutes or more, the bartender proceeded to make drinks for the waiters, I remember him spilling out two drinks and remaking them while my martini continued diluting in the melting Ice. Ten minutes or more later, he pours my martini into more of a champagne coup glass than a martini glass, and I waited another five minutes or more for my wife to get her drink. When I tasted the upmartini, It tasted so diluted, just bad, almost commical to me. I just laughed to myself because i've tended bar for a living and that was about the worst martini i've ever had in my life. Either Rumi is watering down his booze or the ice melted so much that there was barely a gin taste in the glass. I think their gig is rather than give you a real martini level pour they dilute you with so much melted Ice that you think you're getting a full pour martini, when, in fact, what you're getting is half gin and half melted ice. And believe ME, you are charged as though it was a real martini. The place was pretty busy, so a lot of people must not have a clue... or just like busy places. If everybody says, this is such a great place, I guess it's gotta be. Unfortunately, that's just Atlanta-if it's popular everyone just assumes it's good or pretends it is. I don't do well with pretend. Next after being seated at the table, i tried to order wine least expensive wines (so overpriced)-they were out of all of the lower-end overpriced wines I tried to order. It just bugs me to overpay so much for bottles of table wine. They're barely twenty dollars charging, 60-80 for them. But of course, ten minutes after I ordered the wine, this happened twice, the waiter told me they were out of the ones i was trying to order ( everyone must have had the same idea). Oh well. Right before the table was served the main course, the waiter and manager came to tell me that they had run out of the dish I ordered. I ended up replacing it with their duck dish that I had never heard of before but what the hell I'll try it (maybe I deserve it, because I remember my father always told me you never ordered duck in a strange restaurant you don't know) Everyone else at the table of 8 were served their meals ten minutes before my plate arrived. i'm like, please go ahead and start without me. Then, the duck arrives. I mean, if you're such a Rumi's, fan, try the duck and tell me what you think. First of all, it was lukewarm for something that apparently had just been made. The lukewarm duck comes 'in" this purple sauce, I mean, it wasn't even swimming in the purple sauce-It was submerged in the purple sauce. The waiter, of course, later brought me the wrong type of rice than the one i oredered..That's okay they brought me a new one right away. I was really starving at the time, but if I hadn't been, I don't think I would have eaten any of the duck. Being submerged in a kind of a sickening, putple sweet sauce it just wasn't appetizing at all. Challenge: if you're a big Rumi's fan, go ahead and please try the duck, but you have to try it like I did- lukewarm temptation. Then tell me if you remain an unconditionalRumi's fan. The bread is delicious though. To their credit when I tried to order 2 glasses of red wine after my meal was served, they did give us the vin de table for free. I returned to Yalda for brunch after a really enjoyable dinner here about a year ago, and I was expecting a similar level of care. This visit was a different story. The space is still striking. The decor is beautiful, layered, and clearly intentional. There was a live DJ on Sunday playing light, upbeat music that added a nice energy without being distracting. On paper, it had all the makings of a great brunch. In practice, it felt a bit off from the start. The hostess was not particularly warm, which is noticeable when you walk into a place that is otherwise completely empty at 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday. That alone gave me pause. Upon arriving at my table I noticed that the seating, upholstered in a light velvet, was visibly worn and stained across the board. It is a material that looks lovely in theory but tells on you quickly if not maintained. Mine certainly did. My appetizer plate also had old crusted food stuck on it, which I had to send back immediately. Not an ideal opening. I ordered an Istanbul Board-a mix of cheeses, fruit, olives, and spreads like cherry and honeycomb. It was fine, but when I asked about the cheeses, no one could identify them. Not the server, not the kitchen. I was told they were essentially from a mixed box and could not be distinguished. That takes some of the experience out of what is meant to feel curated. For my main, I ordered a beef sausage and potato hash. It arrived heavy, oily, and lacking in flavor. The potatoes were soft to the point of being mushy, and the overall texture leaned more toward something that had been sitting than something freshly prepared. I gave it a fair try and then quietly moved on. The one standout was the pomegranate fizz. Bright, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted it to be. I would return for that alone, just not attached to this particular meal. I am open to giving dinner another try based on my previous visit, but brunch missed the mark in both execution and attention to detail. read more

Husband booked reservation at the other location but they were more than welcoming at this one for us to sit and eat.. I'm so glad we did. From the front staff to the waitress to the food. This place is a 10 out of 10.. Our waitress recommended spreads for us to try and it was definitely delicious. The eggplant spread was sooo good. I ordered the chicken and my husband had the salmon. Hey guys! So with this weekend being my birthday weekend july 26 we went here for an early dinner and I want to tell you this place is awesome! For starters there is parking but it's limited and you might have to drive around the lot a few times while waiting for someone to leave but for those in a hurry there is valet for 5 bucks. We had a server named Tucker who is a complete rock star! He guided us through the menu and lemme tell you I had the chicken kabobs with the rice with green beans and beef it was amazing! Make sure you get the garlic sauce for the meal as it takes it up 10 notches! The hummus and bread is delish, as well as the baklava and ice cream for dessert. This place lived up to expectations. I had several friends including Persian friends recommend this place. Initially I was skeptical thinking nothing can beat other restaurants in town like Rumi's, Delbar or Zafron. I was in for a surprise! I came here for my birthday and my friend and I ordered drinks that just blew our minds. The first one I got was Jigar Tala which was made up of saffron, cardomom and vodka. The saffron really came through which tells you this place uses quality ingredients and they make their syrups and and infused liquors in house. The second one, my favorite drink was Mitra's Habibi which is made up of Sumac syrup, gin, saffron bitters. I wanted to take this drink home with me and or learn to make it myself. I also got vegetable soup which was made up of tomato and red pepper broth and vegetable simmered in saffron and few other spices. If I can replicate a portion of the dishes or drinks at home; it would be amazing! Yalda Yalda Yalda, I was so impressed with you. I personally wasn't feeling the best the night of our visit but it was my loved ones birthday and we already had Yalda on our itinerary for weeks so I went anyways. I had absolutely no appetite but we ordered a few things to share thinking I'd just nibble so I could participate in the celebration.. everything that hit the table was so good it woke my appetite right up out of its slumber. We ordered Hummus and Chicken wings as our starters. That Hummus was so smooth and creamy, the pita bread were soft and buttery. The chicken wings rubbed with Harissa were so flavorful and although I prefer a crispier wing they were still very good. For Mains we ordered Salmon and Beef Shish Kebabs. I can't speak too much on that beef because it was just ok, but that SALMON, baby, GET THAT. I am dairy free so we opted for no butter and I kid you not I didn't feel like anything was missing. I wasn't able to eat the sides because I was told they were made with butter and didn't wanna compromise the meal but that salmon was on point. Would love to go back for that hummus and salmon again. Additionally the staff were kind enough to let us utilize the top floor for a little photoshoot for the birthday girl since it was close to closing. Yalda is such a beautiful location and perfect for date nights, girls nights, company dinners, and celebrations.. we truly had a wonderful time. Need to do an update of this review... My work team has visited this location many, many times. The food is excellent and is always very fresh and flavorful. It has a nice interior set up and a nice patio for when the weather is nice. My only heads up is that the service is a little slow but for the type of restaurant, this is not a problem. read more

My friends did not know a lot about the Persian seasoning and dishes and our waiter really took his time explaning and providing us recommendations. YALL NEED TO HEAD TO YALDA | perfect for a girls night out, the girls gathered at Yalda for the much needed catch up sesh! The restaurant interior is gorgeous - definitely one of the most insta-worthy restaurants in Sandy Springs, by far. Our table had perfect lighting streaming in during golden hour. First off: cocktails. My fave on the menu is the Mitra's Habibi. And it's not just a pretty pink drink, it's creamy and tasty - and I'm a sucker for a gin cocktail. Almost everything we ordered was delicious - shared the hummus (PRO TIP: add the lamb shawarma, you won't be sorry and you will only regret it if you don't!) and the wings (AN ABSOLUTE MUST, especially with the harissa aioli). I wasn't a huge fan of the bademjoon torsh - the kashk bademjoon is much better (both are eggplant dishes, but the former dish was cold and texture was unappetizing). And even though I was stuffed, I ordered the chinjeh, which was a hearty, meaty entree I mostly took home for lunch the next day. Our service, on the other hand, was a bit lacking. She started off ok, but as the night went on, she would take our dishes without asking if we were done and never refilled our waters the entire time. I'm assuming that since it's been a while since our visit, she is no longer working there, because it seemed like she had no enthusiasm to serve us at all. We had an enjoyable dinner last night at Yalda's original location in Sandy Springs. The food and drink were good. Delbar, Rumi's Kitchen, and Yalda are the top three restaurants that come to mind for me for best Persian and Middle Eastern sit-down food in metro Atlanta. My wife and I had dinner at the West Midtown location four months ago (June 2025). We thought the food there was better, for what it's worth. This Sandy Springs location opened on December 27, 2022 in the Aria Village mixed-use development. Food Terminal also has a location here. The restaurant has valet parking or you can self-park for free in the Aria Village garage. There are garage entrances on both Aria Blvd (underneath La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant) and Aria Village Dr. This place is popular. Book reservations using Resy. At the time of writing this review: (1) Yalda is on Seated with 10% rewards. (2) American Express Platinum Card members get up to $100 in statement credits each quarter with Resy. That included the Mitra's Habibi cocktail which was well made at this location and equally as tasty (recommended). Generous pour on the Piper Sonoma Brut Rosé. Overall, the food was delicious. The spreads were fantastic. They're some of the best things about Yalda. In general, the spreads have an extra level of quality and sophistication to them compared to the average Middle Eastern sit-down restaurant. I like the savory flavor and different textures of the Kashk Bademjoon. If you want to try something different, I suggest the Za'atar Labneh with Pickled Mushroom. But even simpler spreads like the Mirza Ghasemi and Hummus were excellent. The Chilean Seabass was terrific. The fish was rich, meaty, and flavorful with a yummy green saffron sauce poured on top. I think we received a full serving of the Beet Salad as a "side." We had this same salad at the West Midtown location and were not disappointed here. The salad was fresh with thick, refreshing slices of multi-colored beets. The Chicken Barg wasn't bad and a relatively healthy choice. The Sour Cherry Tahdig Rice (Albaloo Polo) was our favorite from the West Midtown location that we ordered again here. It's an addictive rice dish that's served with a crispy caramelized top. I thought the scorched rice bits were a bit too hard and crunchy (West Midtown did it better), but the dish was still delectable. If there's only one thing I'd recommend at Yalda, it's this. It's like the Persian version of Korean dolsot bibimbap or Vietnamese cơm cháy. Service was great. Our server was Brendan. He was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Locals each have their favorite, and since I was dining with a one such local whose favorite is this particular branch of Yalda, we came here for a weekday lunch. The vibe is pretty luxe/formal, which actually felt a bit off for a casual lunch, but obviously, that's nothing to fault the restaurant for. First off! I personally prefer Delbar to this establishment. The food is just better at Delbar. We went here last night for dinner and had a lovely time. Our waiter Haru was very courteous and efficient. We tried Soltani kabab (switched to dill rice), and veggie kabab with saffron rice. Dill rice was supposed to have fava beans but I didn't find any. It was blah. Beef kababs were well seasoned and made. Veggie kababs were also good. We also ordered 2 drinks - a glass of red wine and a cocktail (Hafez's last word) and Zataar fries. One of the best Persian & Middle Eastern restaurants I have been to. All 5-Stars for the food, service and ambience. General parking is available next to La Parilla restaurant plus valet is available as well. Reservation is preferred as it's very popular and mostly full but you can take a chance if not a real planner. Truly upscale and fancy place to have a nice date night or celebrating a milestone. They offer pitas and a fresh plate of green olives, walnuts, fresh block of feta cheese, fresh mint and rosemary sprigs. Very refreshing and a good start. We ordered lamb logmeh and chicken sheesh kabob. Both the quality and quantity of food was awesome. The meat was grilled to perfection and very flavorful. Ordered Zhoug sauce - it was priced separately but really good combination. Both of us were stuffed so much but since it was far, we asked to pack Lamb logmeh and chicken kabob. The difference of sheesh kabob vs kabob is roasted vegetables are included in the first one making it a great choice. While packed food tasted equally delectable and great next day, the only thing I got disappointed with was the quantity of chicken kabob. After eating there and getting the same dish packed just without veggies, I could visibly see the difference in the quantity. I still gave the 5 star rating for the review since this could have been a small mistake, an exception. The place was noisy since jam packed but whole ambience and food quality was unbeatable. I went here for my birthday with my parents and I'm so glad I chose this restaurant! I ordered the lamb and it was amazing. It was perfect with the rice and tomato as the side. My dad ordered the beef and my mom ordered the fish. They both really enjoyed their meals and we were all so full by the end of dinner. Our server was very nice and the manager also came by to check on us, I love that they want to make sure you are having a great experience at their restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and more of a dressier place than casual. They also gave me a birthday dessert as well, which was really nice. Amazing ambiance and exceptional food! We chose to be seated on the patio which was toasty on a chilly morning. They started us with a herb and bread plate alongside some drinks (mocktails and tea). They had great options for non vegetarians, pescatarians and vegetarians. Tried their veg Kebob with a side of shirin pulao and it didn't disappoint. The hostess was patient and helpful. Such a lovely restaurant with friendly and great service. Great for dates but also family friendly it seems. Came by for a Saturday lunch at 12 at opening and within 30 minutes the restaurant became pretty filled. It was our anniversary and they offered us complimentary champagne. Our server Haru was patient, brought in a bit of humor, and happy to answer our questions. We ended up ordering the mirza ghazemi (eggplant tomato spread), beef shish kabob, and shirazi salad. Everything was soooo delicious and flavorful. We were super impressed with how tender the beef was, best kabob we've ever had! The salad was a refreshing contrast and spread went great with naan. In the middle of our meal what looked like the manager came to wish us a happy anni and checked in on the food. It was really nice of him to swing by. The portion of the entree was pretty big and came with rice as well. With these 3 items we were very full and had a bit of leftovers to take home too. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back. Had an amazing lunch at Yalda (Sandy Springs location). The space is beautiful!! The service was great. Our server recommended great dishes and the Yalda espresso martini. I must say, it is one of the best in town! I was worried about the parking situation but there was a parking deck under La Parilla restaurant right across the way. During dinner time, Yalda offers valet. If your in north Fulton, definitely check out this location (I typically dine at the West Midtown location) read more

Are you even a foodie if you have not been here?!? From the decor to dessert everything is delicious. For a well rounded experience, order several dishes for the table and ask for platter style plating. The food is so good you'll want apps, entrees and desserts. Whether or not chicken barg is a good dish to judge a Persian/ME restaurant, I dunno. Regardless, we consider Rumi's chicken barg to be the examplar. To me, the flavor of Yalda's barg was good although the salt was slightly low. The chicken was definitely dry though. The saffron rice was good by my estimation. I don't normally eat the grilled tomato although it did help with the dryness of the barg. My dining companions complained that the seasoning was weak (beyond low salinity) and that the rice was undercooked. Everyone agreed that the chicken was dry. We shared the hummus. The flavor was great although it was not as smooth as Rumi (I suspect they tami the hummus there). The fried chickpeas were nice though. So, in the end, I think the chicken barg is fine but we got unlucky because it was overcooked this time. Service was fine. Regarding atmosphere, on Saturday at 12:30, they had a DJ. I saw no dancefloor. Seemed weird to me. read more

Went here for an early dinner and it was incredible! First thing, the restaurant is GORGEOUS. High ceiling, comfy chairs, lots of mood lighting. Our server Samira was friendly, smiley, and had good recommendations for my husband and I when we didn't know what certain items were (the menu is pretty authentically Persian). For an app we got the hot eggplant, tomato, and garlic dip and it was probably the best thing we ate all night. It tasted SO fresh and the naan bread was perfectly cooked with a hint of the wood fired oven taste. We also had the chicken "bites" from the mezze menu and it literally could have been someone's entree it was so big. But for ground chicken it was super juicy and flavorful and we loved it. We both have beef for our mains and they were also well cooked, tender, and full of flavor. My husband is a big condiment guy so being able to order a few of the sauces was great so we could try them without committing to it all over our entrees. We'd love to come back for brunch, but it's a must try for dinner! read more

This was my first time at Yalda. The ambience is nice although it's a little loud in the indoor dining space. It was a little off-putting getting sat a a table where the server was talking to the table directly next to the table we were sat at; she was resting against the table and her buttocks was touching/resting in the table for a few minutes. The food was cocktail and the food was really good. I thought the service was attentive. I liked that the managers seemed to greet tables and ensure patrons were enjoying their meal without being intrusive. read more
