She didn't just fulfill her duties; she went above and beyond, staying in contact with us after hours, making sure every step of the process was handled gently, respectfully, and with deep understanding. When we learned that our mother would need to be transported from Houston; a four-hour drive away. Martin Thompson & Son didn't hesitate. They made the trip themselves, a gesture that spoke volumes about their dedication. Not only did they care for her transport, they worked seamlessly with the private cemetery where our family plot is located, ensuring every detail was handled with precision and grace. Perhaps the most touching act was Payton's careful, loving work in preparing our mother for a private family viewing. Because of the condition she was in, we didn't know if it would be possible to see her again in a way that felt peaceful. But Payton made it possible. She restored her in such a gentle, dignified way that we were able to say goodbye in peace, seeing our mother as we remembered her: serene, whole, and beautiful. I truly cannot say enough about the extraordinary care we received. If I could give negative stars I would. I regret burying my mother at Cedar Hill. It is a horrible…read morecemetery but, Mom wanted to be buried near the rest of her family. The grounds are not maintained and not an ounce of care is taken with the gravesites. I could not find my mother's grave because the cup was missing and it was completely covered with dirt. I was told by a worker it was because of the rain. What a stupid excuse. What rain??!! My mother is buried beside her sister and that grave was not covered. Clearly, my mother's marker was covered with dirt from a different hole dug nearby. I live out of state and was at the cemetery exactly one year ago to the day. At that time, I complained about the condition of my mother's gravesite. These people don't care about the loved ones buried there. The woman in the office was very rude too. Eventually, the headstone was raised. However, when we went to the gravesite, we saw that the cup on the headstone for my aunt, who is buried directly beside my mother, was sheered off and a large scrape on the headstone. Clearly, a cart or something drove over it and broke the cup. Of course, the office blamed the "elusive headstone cup thieves" for breaking it. I can't help but wonder whether the cemetery upkeep would be so horrible if this was not a predominantly Black cemetery. It's like they don't understand cemeteries are for the living. It's a place to go to honor the memory of a loved one. It hurts my heart to see my beloved mother's marker laid in such a pathetic place.

They did a wonderful job and made sure to always keep us updated and encouraged us to contact them if we had any issues or wanted to update anything. The pricing seemed pretty reasonable to us and they never pressured us to look into the really expensive stuff. The room for the actual service was not very large, they have chairs instead of pews, we did have to order some chairs to sit more people and they put a sash around them to make them look nice. They look at their job from the families point-of-view instead of just a business perspective. Over all, they did a really good job and I can't think of any complaints.

If that is not the rudest, most hateful thing you can tell a person who just lost their mom. This is supposed to be a colleague of mine. I would never ever say anything so hurtful to anyone in my life. I met Christie K. Moore at a professional training. When my mother passed on 03/31/23 I contacted her to help with the arrangements. I met with Myeshia and paid $12,0018 for the arrangements, travel to Tulsa, and the burial plot. When we go to the graveside gazebo, my mom was already there waiting on us. After the celebration, they put my mom in a white van that had trash inside. They drove her to her final resting place and pull her out of the back of a white van with trash on the inside of it. Every funeral I have attended had a hearse, but my mom was pulled out of a white van with trash. At no time was I told the service car would be a van. I spoke with the man who came from Texas and said, why wasn't my mom in a hearse, why you pulled her out of a van? This is terrible. He said, "I am sorry, if you wanted a hearse, I could have gotten you one." Why wouldn't I want a hearse, it's a funeral. They were not packing meat across state lines. I then sent Christie a message about my embarrassment and heartbreak the same day of the funeral. She responds we can talk, so on today, we talked. I told her how I felt and that I couldn't sleep because it was so disrespectful for my mom to be in the back of a dirty van. I also stated Tulsa was my mom's hometown and I was so embarrassed. I told her, I can only bury my mom once, we can't redo this and I feel very embarrassed because this is a funeral and we did not expect nor were we told that she would be in a van. She again said I am sorry, we believe in excellence, etc. At no time, did she offer any refund or anything, just an apology. When I asked what would you want to happen if you were in my place. She told me. MY MOM IS ALIVE, SO I DON'T KNOW HOW I WOULD FEEL. If that is not the rudest, most hateful thing you can tell a person who just lost their mom. This is supposed to be a colleague of mine. I would never ever say anything so hurtful to anyone in my life. Thank you for handling our baby with care and sending him back home to us in one of the most beautiful boxes we could have asked for. It's beautifully colored like his coat was. The paw print is priceless... we never realized how big his paws were because he would never let us touch them. I really appreciate yall for doing the job you do... I know it can't be easy. It's not easy for us to say goodbye either but it brought some relief to my heart to see our boy given back to us with such dignity and respect for the wonderful animal that he was. An obvious fake casting of a dog paw. This is not him, a child could tell this is a fake paw print. I am disgusted and so sad. This was $70 btw. There's a special place in hell for people like this.
