I was the only client they had booked for that hour so they were able to put all their energy and focus towards me. I felt very attended to. I also didn't feel judged by them for getting a wedding dress with only a few months left. They asked me what I wanted, and I told them, but they also had me try on many different styles which were all so beautiful, elegant styles. I found a dress that I adored, but it needed some alterations. The bust area was just showing too much. I asked them if they thought they could add more to the dress to cover it up. They said they could definitely make it work. After a few more consultations, we arrived at the final dress. We added sleeves with some extra material they had left in the store and the seamstress beautifully covered the front of the dress. It was so professionally done that it didn't even look like there were extra pieces added to the dress. I am so in love with the dress that I wore and I want to keep it forever. TLDR: Didn't give me time to browse dresses. Were curt and frankly unfriendly when trying on dresses. They carry milla nova which had a couple designs I was really intrigued by and wanted to try on. I made an appointment a few weeks in advance. Showed up promptly at my appointment time. Was greeted warmly and then it went downhill. Don't know if it's the shop in general or the particular stylist I had (I'm leaning towards the stylist) but I definitely did not have a magical happy bridal experience here. 1) I was rushed and not allowed to browse all the options. 2) asked about getting a different overlay to match my actual skin color. Told that was impossible. Um what?? And then a different stylist told me it was possible. Uh...okay? Wait what?? 3) told to leave because I had tried on 7 dresses and that was the end of my appointment.... excuse me?! I'd been there for about 30-35 minutes at that point and I have never been so rushed through an appointment. 4) I asked about if a dress could be customized/sized to my measurements because I'm both busty and hella short. Told no by my stylist. Then another stylist came by and said it was possible and told me to put the dress back on so she could show me how it'd look if they raised it up. Um okay?? This was the last bridal shop I visited during a whirlwind two-day search in March for the perfect dress for my upcoming nuptials in August. It was extremely easy to book an appointment online and I also appreciated the reminder e-mail before each of my 3 appointments. Personally, I had an excellent experience with the bridal consultant I worked with and I also was able to observe other consultants and found them to be quite friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. The drawback to this small boutique is that there are only 2 fitting areas, which is why appointments are timed to last no longer than 45 minutes. For each of my three appointments, they were consistently booked. My bridal consultant listened to what I was looking for in a dress and pulled dresses that were ideal for my preferences plus a few that, while not in my preferences, she thought would complement my shape. They were also very conscious of my budget! I never felt pressured or rushed while I was trying on dresses, and, in my experience, we were welcome to take pictures for comparison to other dresses I was also considering. After my appointment, my mom and I left to debate over what I tried on that day at each bridal boutique. I wanted to try on my #1 dress at Natalies one more time to ensure this was it! We walked back to the boutique about a half hour before they were closing, and they were happy to allow me to try the dress on again. I said "yes to the dress" after that! I was also given a lovely packaged blue garter by the staff (something blue). They were flexible on payment options too, so I just paid a down payment at that time and was able to pay the remainder, plus alterations, at my final fitting. I was told the dress would take 4 months to come in, but it only took 3! I had a first fitting in June where the seamstress and I discussed alteration options. I found her to be very helpful, budget-conscious, and friendly. I had my final fitting 7/15 and the alterations (length and cups) came out beautifully! The consultant also took the time to go over the bustle with me and ensure I understood how to bustle the dress for dancing. I walked out with the most beautiful wedding dress I could have asked for while staying in my budget! They have a gorgeous selection of dresses, veils & accessories. I purchased everything there (minus the shoes). I went today for my first dress fitting. I was nervous because I found my dress at a different shop. I live in New York but found a brand that was only avail in a few shops, one was in Maryland and my parents live in VA so I came down and found a dress (not the one i went to try of course). I found Bridals By Natalie because they happen to carry the same line of dress that I got and the shop I got it at does not do alterations. The women were sooo sweet and welcoming and easy to work with and I had no reason being nervous. I'm excited for my final fitting in Sept and to see how it turns out for my wedding in October. This was my first time trying on wedding dresses, and I couldn't have been more disappointed. Things started out OK-- the shop had pulled the two dresses I was interested in trying on-- but then it went downhill quickly. Nobody asked me when I was getting married or what I was looking for, and I was left alone in the tiny room to get myself into the dresses and clip them as-needed. My assistant put in the bare minimum effort. She couldn't answer the most basic questions on fabric and fit, and she didn't pull anything, relying instead on my mom and sister to find dresses (which, by the way, are organized by size and not style... so if you don't work there it's hard to suss out what's what!) The final nail in the coffin came when my stylist made a comment about my size. I'm 5'5" and about 135 pounds, so a fairly average-sized woman, and the woman had the audacity to say there wouldn't be much that would fit me. This was so hurtful, and was made even worse when she commented that one of the dresses I was trying wouldn't zip. Bridal gowns are carried in sample sizes, so it's expected that the ones you try won't fit perfectly, but this was so embarrassing and cast such a dark cloud over what was supposed to be a special day. Overall, I would advise going elsewhere. This place has a poor selection, horrible service, and a lackluster vibe that's the antithesis of the special experience bridal gown shopping should be. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Gladys and Lourdes. This was the first shop I went to and it shaped what I looked for in other stores after. I had an idea of what I wanted and thought would look good on me until I tried it on. The ladies there helped me figure out which type of dress was more flattering to me after I was disappointed with my initial inclinations. They brought an array of dresses which I initially hadn't even considered. They were honest about what looked best and what parts of it, etc. So, if you don't want honest feedback it might not be your kind of store, but I certainly appreciated it, especially since I was by myself. They brought dresses and put one at a time in the changing room for me while having a lineup outside for me to choose from (both that I had picked out and that they recommended). They helped me close them and pin them but did not help me put them on like other places. I personally preferred that, but I know some brides liked to be helped. I had an additional requirement which they were the MOST helpful for of all five stores I went to during my dress shopping experience. I am not looking for the most bridal gown that you end up only wearing once but for something versatile that I can convert to an evening dress for the many black-tie events in the DC area. These ladies were creative and brainstormed with me how to do that, based on their extensive experience in alterations. Besides just cutting the train, they talked about which designs were most versatile and how different textures would respond to dye, etc. No other store helped fulfill that goal like this one. read more

She did help clip me in, but seemed more interested in putting the dresses away instead of giving me her input. She never discussed pricing with me either. Never go.... I cried my eyes out... I was getting married, and I needed a dress that I would love. I live 2 1/2 hours away from Alexandria. I came with my sister to try some dresses on, I found one that I just couldn't get out of!! I requested to purchase it but it needed some alterations. Hem, covering up at the top due to my church being conservative and I needed to respect that. When I went to pay she calculated that the dress was 2,500$ with alterations. So I went ahead and paid 1,400$ at the time being and was going to come back to pay the rest at pick up time of the dress. When I came back to a dress fitting I took off work and drove 2.5 hours again. It was horrible the alteration lady was stepping all over the bottom of the dress and the little flowers she was putting on where horrible, so ugly I've never seen someone's work so horrible. I left home disappointed. The next day I called "bridal by Natalie" and told her to stop the alterations I'll find someone else, and that I was coming to pick up the dress. When I came to pick up the dress I brought a check book with me and was ready to pay for the rest of the dress minus the alterations, because nothing was really done. She told me I owed her 1,100 for the dress. I started telling her that no alterations were done therefore 1,100 minus 500 for alterations would be 600$ that I owed her. I told her that online the dress was 1,500$ in the first place. But she told me that dresses online are cheaper because they are defected and dirty. That's false advertisement... what a snake.... She looked at me with a nasty face and started raising her voice.. I requested a refund and she said no. I started to cry and walked out. I came back 20 minutes later and told her it's either I'm paying 600$ for the dress or I'm getting a refund. So she just gave the dress to my fiancé and I paid with a debit card that I had to call a family member to send because they don't take check. Anyway worse place ever. You'll get ripped off... I went to a Russian lady and she made the dress look soooo beautiful and I trusted her because she was so involved in the process and put her ideas and asked me every little step she'd make with the dress. read more

It was easy to make an appointment here and the boutique is very quaint and cute, but I found the dress selection very limited and one note. The dresses were mostly beaded, ballroom/A-line, or lace. Very boring, unless that's your thing. I also found the bridal consultants to be very blah...bordering on rude. The consultant with whom I worked didn't listen to a word I said about my interests re: my gown or veil. She was very machine-like and efficient- moving from gown to gown with little commentary. It was easy to make an appointment at this shop and they were accommodating and in a cute location. It was my first visit to a bridal shop, so when they informed my mother and sister that photos of brides in the dresses isn't allowed, I thought maybe it was always that way. Visits to 5 other shops have confirmed that while not unheard of, it isn't an industry standard. This is a ridiculous rule that makes it impossible for the bride to see a third party perspective on what she looks like or to remember how the dresses looked. It felt extremely overbearing and snotty to have such a rule when clients are considering spending thousands on a dress, and I can't imagine what purpose it serves but to drive customers away. This place is nestled in Old Town Alexandria. It's a clean boutique with some popular designers. I forget the bridal consultant that I worked with but she was very friendly. She let me freely browse the selection which was nice as I have been to places where they didn't let me browse. I wasn't feeling any dresses though. Everything was MEH to me. I think the selection itself could have been larger. The other thing I didn't like was that she would only let me take pictures of my one favorite dress. Bottomline: A lot of these reviews on poor customer service and being rushed is true unfortunately. I've learnt that if more than 3 reviews are complaining about the same issue it's a review to be believed. So think twice before buying a dress here. Your wedding is the most important day. Don't jeopardize it. 1) Dishonest Service: We were dress shopping for a wedding. After browsing some dress we negotiated for the one we liked. The dress wasn't perfect so sales rep and I agreed upon on alterations and adjustments to 1) The dress needed to be fitted 2) The dress needed to add more matching lace We were specifically told very clearly that the adding more lace will be seamless. They will add the EXACT same lace from the dress. They will get that extra lace when the do dress alterations. We asked to get confirmation several times. Each time we were confirmed not to worry. 2) Did Not Get What Was Promised: The sales rep in store rushed us to put a $200 deposit so that we can: 1) see the seamstress who would take measurements for fitting and alterations. 2) so that they can get the dress ready in time for wedding. So 1st we had to put a $200 deposit on a dress off the rack to hold it. We were told we needed to pay further $500 by the day we first ever meet the seamstress. After putting total of $700 we finally met the seamstress and found out sales rep's sales pitch about exact matching lace alterations was untrue. They presented mismatch laces from previous work. 3) Store Refused To Correct Problem And Ignored: We told the store we don't want to go ahead with the dress. We tried to convince them to stick to what was promised to us. They wouldn't. We even desperately asked for them to just change the dress as long as they help make it right. They didn't. We asked for our money back but the store refused to do so. We lost money on flight, venue, caterer and added extra HUGE amounts of stress because of this store's failure to deliver what was promised. This is absolutely disgusting. I do believe that what goes around comes around. And to treat people in this manner will not get Gladys far or her business for that matter. read more

If I had not found out about Bridals By Natalie I do not know what I would have done to find my dress in time for the wedding. Not only was the entire process so caring, personable, and understanding, I found a dress that I love and am so happy that I will get to be keeping it forever. Clarice helped me throughout the entire process and I am so grateful for her! I went to Natalie's Bridal back in August and the older lady that greeted me was very rude (I had an appt). As soon as she saw me she stated that the boutique didnt carry a size 16. She assumed that was my size, even though it wasn't. She was not very helpful. Let me start by saying that I visted Bridals by Natalie twice. I am a reasonable person and like to give people second chances. Below is my review for both experience and why I may suggest going else where before settling at Natalie's: My first appointment was back in November 2016. It was my second bridal store I've been to. Having been to Nordstrom bridal first , I had high expectations. After reviewing the great Yelp reviews , suspicious of all of the 5 star review, I made my initial appointment for a Saturday morning. Bridal by Natalie is nested in old Town Alexandria closer to the water front off Queen st and N Lee St. Upon arriving one of the bridal consultant welcomed me, offered water, and allowed for me and two other bridesmaid to browse around. Lourdes came out and started picking out her suggestions. We quickly went to the fitting area, which is very posh and chic designed! After trying on my first gown, my sister tried to snap a photo to see what I would look like in pictures - because that's what memories we will have of the wedding once the day has come and pass. We were quickly stopped with "No ladies, no pictures!!" We were confused since this was only our second bridal store ever and the first one allowed us. But we respected her store rules. After trying on a few we were rushed to leave because she had another appointment right after us - it was not even the full hour yet! Although we were rushed out, I had my eye on one of the Mori Lee dress and knew I would be back. A few months pass by I could not stop thinking about the feeling I had when I was trying on that particular Mori Lee dress. I could remember the feeling, but wish I had a photo to remember it visually. That prompted me to go online and make an appointment to come back. I booked my appointment a week and half advance for the next Saturday coming up. I also emailed the store to let them know that I was coming in to say yes to the dress but would like to take at least one picture so I could confirm that I would look perfect in pictures. I recieved a response from Gladys herself saying that if I'm coming into say yes to the dress then I would be allowed to take a pic - great! I recieved an appointment reminder 2 days before my actual appointment on Thursday for my Saturday appointment at 4PM - perfect! The day of my appointment. I had a feeling Natalie's would be booked, especially late in the afternoon. My bridesmaids and I planned ahead for parking and to arrive early and on time. We parked off Queen St and quickly walked to Natalie's. The store was jammed packed. They must have overbooked. But given my last experience where I was rushed out to accommodate for the next appointment, I was hopeful they would do the same for me. I checked in with Gladys about 3:55pm, she said she I'll be right with you. As we were waiting, my bridesmaids and I were browsing around new gowns that we have not seen before. 4:15pm rolled around and no one out of the three employees there came up to us. I felt as if we were judged since we looked at bit young for our age (I still get ID for R-Rated movies and at the bars!). At about 4:17pm , we decided to leave reschedule and come back. But no one was able to help us. I was definitely upset at 4:20pm and grabbed my bridesmaids and let them know that I was not going to waste my time anymore. We quickly left Natalie's, ran into Gladys and she just walked by us. Overall, I gave bridals by Natalie two chances, and even wanted to say yes to the dress after feeling not welcomed. I would not recommend this place if you want any sort of hospitality or customized service. My suggestion is, come dressed up looking like you have money, bring a mom that looks like she's paying for it all or simply go elsewhere and figure out what dress you want and if Natalie has it in stock, go and buy it. Otherwise, there are many many many shops in northern VA that will respect your time and treat you like a princess/queen! But then again, this is my experience. I have been to well over 40 bridal shops - between family, friends, planner and bridesmaids duties - my experience ranges across 8 states and many approaches to pairing the bride with her ideal dress. This experience was absolutely atrocious. We walked in at opening (10am) on a Saturday with an appointment that was booked about 4 weeks in advance. We were a party of 5 and there was a party of 2 also in the shop. We were all just standing around until Lady 1 asked us all three times if we were together, and who was together, as well as "who had gotten there first". The boutique is by appointment only, so I thought this question was off-putting, but we continued into a TINY changing area with Lady 1. As required by the bridal salon, the number of guests were to be provided in advance, yet when we stepped into this small room - split in half to accommodate two brides simultaneously - there were only 2 chairs set up. Ok minor detail, Lady 1 brought two more chairs and squished everyone on top of each other, leaving very little walking room and heck, breathing room! I would like to point out that the other bridal party (of just 2) was placed in the exact same room on the other side, working with Lady 2, but their area was about twice as big. All this showed me was that there was no planning or thought put into either of these appointments, as it was clearly that the party of 5 should have been placed on the larger side. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that the smaller side should not exist at all: there is no podium, there is very little space, there are pipes and wiring exposed that's visible in every photo of the bride in her dresses. It's tacky and clear that they're just trying to squeeze brides into the rooms and don't care at all about their personal experience. Moving on... the bride had brought with her - her wedding date, budget, names of designers, style number and printed photos of the styles and exact dress she was interested in trying on. She handed the photos to Lady 1 who glanced at it for maybe 30 seconds then handed it back to the bride. Before pulling any dresses, the first thing Lady 1 asked our party was: "Aren't you going to help pull dresses?" First of all, no. These were provided in advance and now day of, these should have been prepared. And if they hadn't been, it is certainly not our responsibility to go searching for them in the most disorganized bridal shop I have ever seen. When asked how all the dresses were organized, Lady 1 said that they were organized by SIZE. Not style, not price, not designer - but SIZE. The most irrelevant part of the wedding dress shopping experience is the only way this shop uses to organize their offerings. So here we were, 5 gals searching the entire place, checking prices and necklines and beading detail and asking the bride if she was interested in trying on this dress or another dress. How absolutely awful. Lady 1 had the audacity to ask the mother of the bride if she needed help finding something. It was just bizarre and awful. They cannot even locate a veil - Lady 1 did not even know names of veils (chapel, floor) it was very odd. She provided very little help, just running around to ask Lady 2 if she knew where this or that was. Skipping forward the bride finds her dress. Cries and falls in love. I ask about a timeline, cause ours is tougher than most. I thought this was something the bridal salon would have considered in advance, since they've have the details for over a month and were reminded yet again at the beginning of the appt. Asking about timeline, Lady 1 announces that it will take 4-5months to receive the dress. The wedding is 4 months and 5 days away from the date of the appointment. I have in front of me a bride who is panicking, standing in her dream dress and a veil, starting to get visibly flustered and obviously on the verge of tears. Lady 1 keeps repeating the 4 month window, then using the excuse that she though it was at the end of the month in 4 months (which is absurd because the date was provided multiple times, but also irrelevant because it would have put any bride outside the window). Here I am at the ready to get the style number and hunt this dress out anywhere I can even think of while Lady 1 is scurrying around talking to Lady 2. They come back in and say they they could get it here in 3 months. I was appalled. How unprofessional was it to make a bride struggle like this? Nothing was prepared, nothing was organized, no help was provided, everything that could have gone wrong - did. I was not the bride but I feel awful that this place and their people stole such an important experience from her and tarnished the memory of finding her perfect dress. I would not recommend this bridal salon to my enemies because even they deserve a respectful bridal appointment which they can cherish forever. This was my first stop dress shopping and I had a really wonderful experience. They had a great selection of Maggie Sottero dresses. It's been a few months, so I can't remember my stylist's name (maybe was Maria), but she was so patient and complimentary! And she pulled dresses that were exactly what I wanted. Their selection isn't huge, but they carry a lot of dresses from a few designers, so just research the website to find out who they carry. I made two appointments to try on bridal gowns last Saturday and my experience at Natalie's was such a disappointment compared to my first appointment. We arrived about 20 minutes early hoping to be able to look around before trying on. There was only one other customer at the time & we were able to start early. I forgot the name of my consultant but she was able to find a few of the dresses on my list. What my bridesmaids and I really disliked was the fact that we felt really rushed. I tried on about 6 dresses and we were out of there 10 minutes after my original appointment time started. After helping me into each dress, my consultant never stayed to ask what I did or didn't like about it. Instead, she would come back with dresses that was going further from what I wanted. I chose to visit this salon because of the designers they have. However, they had a pretty small selection of dresses and styles. They have a lot of lace & long sleeve dresses that gives their dresses a classic, traditional look. Horrible Horrible experience!!! My mom, sister, and I drove 6 hours from Charlotte, NC because they had a designer I liked. When we got there, the experience was so impersonal, unhelpful, and rushed that it didn't feel special at all. Gladys and Lourdes were rude and rushing me in and out of gowns. They did not ask questions in regards to dresses (like all the assessments bridal shops do). When I asked to try on a dress I loved, they told me I couldn't because 7 dresses was the limit. I was shocked and definitely unaware of that. If I had known that I would have not tried on a couple of bad dresses THEY recommended me to try on. I wanted to try on a couple of dresses and they did not let me because they said the cleavage was too much of what I was looking for... (What would they know what I am looking for if they didn't even asked questions throughout the 30 min I was there). Anyway.. In that rush, I found two dresses that I loved and when I asked them if I could think about it and come back they said "they closed at 3pm" When clearly the website states they close at 6:30pm. They said that so I did not have a window in between to go to a better store to see dresses. However I did. and It was COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!! I went to ELEGANCE BY ROYA!! and what a great experience!!!! Service was 100% and they let me try as many dresses as I wanted until I said YES to the DRESS!! Bridals by Natalie was a rip off as they even charged me $35 for the useless appointment and worst customer service ever!!! Gladys and Lourdes definitely need interpersonal skills because they scare excited brides away! Even though I loved a couple of their dresses, the experience was so terrible I was not going to say yes to my dress with so awful experience as it is one in a lifetime! at the end, driving 6 hours (each way) from Charlotte, NC to VA was worth it thanks to ELEGANCE BY ROYA BRIDAL STORE! **Stay away from this place if you want a good bridal experience** read more

I had the best experience at Bridals by Natalie! There was horrible traffic and tidal flooding on the day of my appointment so I was extremely nervous that I wouldn't get to the shop on time. The women at Bridals by Natalie were so understanding and kind. I ended up being 15 minutes late. As soon as I arrived, they had already picked out a few dresses in the style I was looking for. They made me feel comfortable and calm. They also offered suggestions on what would look best on my body (without being too overwhelming). I ended up buying the second dress I tried on but it was honestly such a hard decision because all of their gowns are gorgeous! I highly recommend this shop for any brides. Less than a week away from my wedding... I needed by gown cleaned AND altered. This boutique took care of it with no problem. I'm happy I stumbled upon the shop. I waited until Bridals by Natalie was hosting a Kitty Chen trunk-show to do my dress fitting. I'd tried two other shops previous to this appointment but did not have the best experiences. Bridals by Natalie only had one of the dresses I was hoping to try on, however, the stylist Crystal pulled multiple other dresses that she thought would fit my vision and my taste. All of the dresses were gorgeous! Crystal was so helpful and attentive. I did not go with the Kitty Chen dress because it was too massive and heavy... Instead, I fell immediately in love with one of the dresses Crystal pulled by VanillaSposa. I knew it was the one the moment I put it on. The entire staff made me feel welcomed and all of my interactions thereafter were so positive. I ordered my dress at the end of May 2018 during my visit and it arrive in November. I also ordered my veil from there -- and although I felt it was totally overpriced, it was beautiful and I couldn't imagine not having it. My experience with this salon was even better than I'd hoped for. They had a large selection of dresses (and they weren't all size 2s). Awesome bridal salon! read more

Bridal by Natalie was my second boutique I went to and it's was the last. I love how you don't feel awkward the moment you walk in. It has a small nice intimate atmosphere. I had a great experience with Gladys. She was very friendly and helpful to what I was looking for (I'm not the kind to shop for dresses like this). Great selections! I would highly recommend coming! They are very caring and considerate with the short time frame of when my wedding is! I know I'm going to refer my friends here! read more

My dress was ruined at another salon in Pikesville, Maryland and Gladys worked with me for 3 days straight to get me in the most amazing gown, that also met my budget. I had the MOST amazing experience at this bridal shop. Gladys is the absolute best. The rest of the staff at the shop is extremely nice as well. They always made me feel welcomed, comfortable and more importantly, worked with me until I was 10000000% happy with the alterations. They were always willing to help. So very disappointed! Arrived for. 2:00 appointment and we were met by Lourdes. She never gave us her name, we had to ask. She did ask who the bride was but showed no interest in knowing the rest of our party. Very small boutique, very limited dresses from which to choose. My daughter tried on 4 dresses, none of which were good. Lourdes announced that was all there was and the appointment was over. No imagination, no enthusiasm, all in all a very depressing experience. So sorry it was our first stop for a wedding dress. We left by 2:20. Was able to schedule an appointment with Global Bridal around the corner for an hour later! Oh my goodness what a fabulous experience. Marie was a dream and this was the bridal dress shopping experience we had hoped for. We found the dress! Marie listened and the first dress was the one we bought!! Save yourself time and disappointment and avoid this bridal stop. Not at all worth it!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The lady did not say much to me! She gave me 1 option and didn't even try to give any further options. It was awkward silence! She did not give me an undergarment to try on with the dress and she barely zipped me up. I felt horrible in this space and I would not return or recommend! The experience here was quite good. All the sales people were very friendly. They let me pick out whatever dresses I was feeling. She was not as helpful with her own ideas, which was fine but I wouldn't have minded maybe a little more conversation to help me work out what I thought I was looking for. There was almost not enough pressure to buy, it was so low key! I didn't end up getting a dress here, but the experience was positive and I would recommend this for a shop to visit on the list of places for trying on dresses read more
