I've had 2 suits and 2 sports jackets altered there, and I've been very pleased with the results. I am considering have a custom jacket or 2 made there. Location - Very convenient, being downtown. The office is a throwback--classic photos on the wall. Timeliness - Compared with other tailors in the area and some of the stores that might have a tailor on hand, I was able to get my items done in a matter of days. Quality/Knowledge - I felt I was in good hands, and the tailor was very knowledgeable about what alterations to make. Price - Very reasonable considering other options in the District. I needed to have a dress altered for my cousin's wedding and after doing some research, I decided to bring it to Mr. Dil, largely on the basis of the glowing reviews he had. Well, the reviews did not do him justice. He is truly a master of his craft. He not only did an excellent job hemming and removing the slight train from my dress, but he did it in a matter of hours; I am blown away by his ability to do such a quality job so swiftly. Dill is great. I am a very difficult fit due to my height and waist, and I have to get nearly everything tailored. I often bring in multiple items that need lots of alterations, and Dill will spend an hour and half working with me to get it right. He is extremely fast with completing the alterations, and he will do multiple fittings to make sure he gets it right and his customers are happy. I have recommended to many of my friends. Scogna Tailor is excellent for any and all needs formal wear. A little hidden on the second floor of 1900 L St, I have never found a better tailor. Twice now I have been to Scogna with relatively small repairs, buttons on a shirt and a damaged tie, and my repairs on both occasions were completed within 30 minutes the same day for very reasonable prices. He was incredibly attentive and helpful, and knew just what to do. He got both of the dresses back to me in four days, and they were absolutely perfect.
