This is my third time coming to this bar! This time I took my lady friends to the bar. One of the waitresses recognized me, so it was really nice to see her! We mentioned that it was one of my friend's birthday so they came to us with a cart and offered complementary prosecco. We tried their Matsui Whisky set first. The truffles really complemented each whisky. After our flight of whiskies, we tried their Yuzu Sour, Pandan Panda, and Goma Colada. Once again, their drinks are delicious. The ambiance is always great with low lights and music in the background. Overall, a great experience and my lady friends really enjoyed their first experience at After Seven! Finally visited after reading many reviews and finding a time slot to accommodate my party. Great ambiance, love walking through the yogurt store into a secret entrance. I think their presentation for their cocktails was fantastic, but the execution of the drink itself was severely lacking. None of the 8 drinks ordered between 4 people blew us away or was something I couldn't make myself. The one negative thing about our visit was the immediacy of the servers to keep us moving. We were having a lovely time when the server rocks up to the table with the card machine in hand basically saying "pay now and leave" with a complete inability/refusal to split our bill between 2 couples. Really took the shine off our visit. Not sure when/if we'll return anytime soon, which is a shame because this place has a lot of potential. This speakeasy is a neat little spot to hang out and grab a drink or two with some friends. The place is very intimate and not very loud, and the drinks menu is unique and intriguing. I ordered the Flamango, a rum-based cocktail, which has strong mango smell and taste, but just enough to give a balance mouthfeel. The brulé top is a nice little touch. The second drink ordered in the group was Cloudy Oolong, a shochu-based drink, that has sea salt cheese foam on top. I really like the cheese foam but the consistensy and strength of flavor clouds the actual taste of the cocktail a little. And the last drink was Vintage Melon, another rum-based cocktail, which I find to have the strongest alcohol taste of the three. The rum used here is stronger than that in the Flamango, but the taste was still great, it worked well with the wintermelon. We didn't expect the place to be crowded since it is wednesday night, but it was. Most people would make a reservation, especially in the weekend, but a walk-in on weekdays is still doable. read more

This place is a legend! We stumbled across this bar while looking for options in this area. The best way to get a table is through Open Table app - there is also a waitlist! We tried one of their most popular cocktails - Pandan Panda! They had limited beer options (Asahi) but shared that they're working on few beer cocktails. Hidden bar behind a bubble tea shop (Kome Yogurt). The entrance to the bar is hidden behind the ordering screen in the shop. We didn't have a reservation so we let the bubble tea shop staff know our party size and they told us it would be a 15 minute wait, they sent us a text when there was a table ready for us. The cocktails are Asian inspired. I found the presentation of the drinks we ordered were pretty. We also got complementary peanuts to snack on. Looking at the menu, there were only drinks to be served, it would have been nice to have snacks or desserts on the menu as well. Anyway, I ordered the Madame Seven which came served in a tea cup. It was quite bitter tasting, so I don't think I would get it again. The tables are also seated way too closely so I felt like we were drinking with some strangers. It wasn't the most comfortable experience lol. A cool experience to be in a hidden bar though. read more

My favourite bar in Downtown Toronto! I was so surprised when I found out that this bar is hidden behind a bubble tea shop! The drinks were amazing and they are so unique!! I got Flamingo which is a mango alcoholic drink with a burnt foam (?) on top, it is not that strong in terms of alcohol and it goes down very easily! Modern Asian, chic speakeasy. Getting into the bar is a bit gimmicky, I think you order the number 8 and they open the backdoor to let you in. It's fun I guess. The bar itself is gorgeous, the wait staff are super friendly and passionate about alcohol. They have a live musician which I think changes every night or pretty frequently. It's a quiet chic bar vibe, perfect for a first date or just to kick back with your chill friends. It is on the pricier side, but well worth it for me. Plus unlimited costco trail mix! read more

This is not your ordinary speakeasy behind a hidden door. That part is cool but the actual food and cocktail is are seriously next level. They even blow torched one of y drinks. We came here to celebrate a major life event for a family member and the staff were the most accomodating nicest bar staff I've ever had in my 20+ years of drinking in Toronto. We accidentally broke one of the cups and they replaced it free of charge, and gave us a bunch of additional services without us even asking for free. Honestly Michelin star service. I've been to Barchef, Mother, most of the cocktail bars on King. After Seven is an accessible but cult level cocktail bar with mixologists who are life time dedicated to the craft. The staff seriously care about having the highest level of hospitality you can possibly have, and told us some hilarious life stories along the way. This bar is completely underrated and produces bespoke level cocktails. The food was good as well and also very reasonably priced. Another bonus, this place on average is 20%-25% cheaper than king st. Our bill was 190 before tip after tax for a huge amount of food and booze and I swear on king it would have been 500+ easily. Thank you guys for making my family members special day one for the books. The bartenders did so much for us and were super hospitable if Michelin visits Toronto again they deserve at least a 1 star with the level of attentiveness and attention to detail they give customers. This business I feel like they could do a good 15-20 year run in Toronto with this quality of a product. Thank you again to the staff. read more
