As I walked into the hair salon, I was greeted with warm smiles from the staff. I was immediately…read moreimpressed by their politeness and dedication to their work. However, as my experience progressed, it became clear that their expertise was limited. Vanessa, the main stylist, seemed accommodating at first, inquiring about my desired haircut and style. I opted for a simple wash and blow-dry, given the texture of my hair. She seemed well-versed in different curl types since she asked if I came in for a DevaCut to bring out my curl definition. But things took a turn when she began working on my hair. My hair is 3C-4B, and I had undergone a keratin treatment 9 months prior. This means my hair is curly while wet, but manageable due to the treatment. Yolanda really shined during my appointment, helping to detangle and blow-dry my hair. Vanessa was extremely gentle while styling, but the skill level required for curly hair wasn't quite there. She added product after every section, and only used a single pass of the flat iron. I'm all for heat damage prevention but extra passes are often required for curls. Yolanda was amazing though; her technique tamed my locks to nearly straight perfection. My regular salon was closed so I took a chance here, which didn't pan out. The staff were sweet, so this isn't meant to be a reflection on their character, but rather about the quality of work they delivered on an unusually difficult client. A wash and blow-dry will cost you $35, but if your hair needs extra work there is an additional fee of $5. The pricing is still more than reasonable, however, be aware that if you have textured or curly hair you may end up needing to pay a bit more.

Formal Complaint Regarding Discriminatory Treatment and Unethical Business Practices…read more I am writing to formally document my experience at this establishment, which I found to be both discriminatory and unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment online for a wash and blow-dry, with the advertised price clearly listed as $38. Upon arriving for my 12:00 PM appointment with my two young daughters, I greeted the two male employees at the front desk. Neither acknowledged my greeting. When I informed them that I had an appointment, one responded in an aggressive tone, asking "For what?!" I clarified that it was for a wash and blow-dry. He then demanded "How many?!" and when I said it was just one appointment, he loudly instructed me to "Go wash!" while pointing toward the back. As this was my first visit, I asked for clarification, and only then did a female employee approach me. The female staff member asked to see my hair, as I was wearing a head covering. My natural hair texture is soft, manageable, and would not take longer than thirty minutes to wash and blow-dry. However, upon viewing my hair, she immediately stated that the cost would be $100--more than double the advertised price. When I asked why my service would cost $100 when the posted rate was $38, she replied that "this type of hair" required that charge. At no point on the website or during booking was it indicated that pricing was "starting at" $38 or that texture-based surcharges applied. I refused the discriminatory upcharge and chose not to proceed with the service. I have attached both a copy of my booking confirmation and a photo of my hair for reference, to illustrate how unreasonable the $100 charge was. In addition to the blatant price discrimination, the staff were unprofessional, dismissive, and the premises smelled strongly of cigarette smoke--further reflecting the lack of professionalism. This conduct is unacceptable. It reflects racially discriminatory business practices and constitutes false advertising. I will be pursuing further action, including filing a civil complaint. This type of business has no place in Lynbrook or any community.

I'm here for my monthly mani-pedi. I've been coming here…read moresince pre Covid, before they moved to this smaller location. It may be smaller, but the services remain large. Different technicians have serviced me, but mostly it's Linda who helps me. Of course there is a language barrier, but that doesn't stop the professionalism and care from shining through. This is a multi- faceted salon: hair, nails, eyebrows, lashes and I'm hoping they start doing facials. While I don't go there to get my hair styled or cut, I do see the ladies who walk out with a prideful swag, swinging their hair back and forth. Since I come regularly, Linda and staff know exactly why I'm there. No fuss. No muss. The price for a regular mani- pedi, for me, is $31-$35, maybe a little higher on the weekends. Of course, I tip. One caveat: since there is now one pedicure chair, it's best to make an appointment. GET HERE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

The stylist assured me it was okay to proceed without rewashing. Initially, the cut seemed fine, but l noticed the uneven results. Despite not being overly particular about my hair, the noticeable unevenness was concerning. I don't think he was the owner or the older gentleman, he was the younger one.

I had the Magic Sleek treatment done by Walter, and I can't recommend him enough! This treatment…read moretakes about five hours, but Walter was incredibly patient, thorough, and professional from beginning to end. He never made me feel rushed and took the time to explain every step of the process while making sure I was comfortable. Walter answered all of my questions about the treatment, maintenance, and the best products to use--and just as importantly, which products and treatments to avoid to help my results last. I really appreciated his honesty. Instead of trying to sell me additional services or products, he was upfront about what I didn't need and even recommended avoiding certain treatments because they could affect the Magic Sleek results. That kind of integrity is rare. It's clear that Walter genuinely cares about his clients and takes pride in his work. I left feeling confident that my hair was in the hands of someone who is highly skilled and truly knowledgeable about Magic Sleek. If you're looking for someone certified in Magic Sleek and want beautiful results from someone you can trust, Walter is absolutely worth the trip. I would highly recommend him to anyone in Nassau County and beyond!
