I've never had just a blowout before. I usually get haircuts and blow-dry my hair every six weeks, but never just a blowout. When my daughter eloped, I was struggling with my thin, limp hair. So, for her reception a few weeks later, I decided I wasn't even going to deal with it and called Afterglow. My regular hairstylist was out of town, or else he would've been my go-to. I arrived and checked in. The receptionist was incredibly sweet and helpful. She greeted many clients by name and already knew what service they were requesting. After a few minutes of waiting, she noticed and kindly said she'd check in with the stylist. I really appreciated this attention to detail; most receptionists would've just moved along, but she took the time to follow up. The hairstylist was also very sweet, and the scalp massage was wonderful. She asked about where I was going and what the event was to make sure she set the right expectations for my hair. I arrived at 9:00 AM, and the event was at 5:00 PM. Despite all the moving around and set-up throughout the day, my hair looked beautiful all night. You can never go wrong at Afterglow. All of the stylists are amazing, talented and professional. I have had extensions off and on over the past 5 years and they do a better job at taking care of them than I do. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a blowout. It's an instant confidence boost, you leave happy and looking your best. I also love that the front desk staff makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. They offer a large selection of quality high end hair care products. I often find myself stopping by to grab something that I have ran out of or to purchase a new product that I want to try out. I called to make an appointment a few days in advance on a Friday at 4:00pm. The gal on the phone asked if I could come in at 3:45pm instead, and I said sure. Later my appointment was rescheduled (again) to 3:30pm without the business contacting me directly. When I arrived, I was not put with the stylist I had specifically requested. EXCELLENT beds. I have been tanning multiple times a week for a year at another salon and nothing. TWO visits to Afterglows beds and I'm ready for my wedding and our beach honeymoon. And their lotions aren't ridiculously priced like everywhere else! $30 for an amazing one that other places minimum charge $80 for. Wow! What an experience. This is a high end, professional tanning salon and I was blown away (speaking of, they do blowouts also!) by the helpfulness, friendliness and professionalism of the front desk who set me up for my first spray tan. Everything was thoroughly explained to me, all options of tanning level given and I felt confident in the process before stepping in to the machine. The location is very nice and the inside is extremely chic! If you're wanting to get a spray tan, use a tanning bed, or get a blowout I definitely recommend to give them a try! Your first spray tan is also only $20, which is a great promotion. There is a $5 up charge for their spray on moisturizer that I am so glad I added because it helped me moisturize tremendously since you can't go in wearing any lotions or deodorant. I've had experienced there not so well. I visited Fresno from Los Angeles to attend my friend's wedding . Due to I needed to glow up on the wedding day, I made an appointment few days ago at this salon. So my hair was really needed to look good and I expected that place can do good job . I didn't even ask for my hair stylist that much style my hair cuz my dress was lil extra . All I wanted was blow dry my hair and make it straight and volumize my roots . But my hair stylist Briana she only blow dry my hair and didn't do my root hair. It look like same thing as I can do at home . When I asked her to volumize my root, she asked how ? . Ended up I told her to use ur straightener or blow dryer . It was so soo soo disappointing . I didn't understand if my hair stylist cannot do that simple thing or she is being racist. This isn't a 3 star review for a bad reason, I'm going to update it tomorrow depending on if my hair stays as amazing as it did when I walked out of the salon. My appointment was at 1 and I believe from the surge of people coming in due to the holiday, I waited until 1:45 to be seen. Although this could irritate some people, I wasn't at all bothered due to the apologetic staff making sure I knew I wasn't forgotten and their tardiness wasn't something they stood for. I received a complimentary scalp treatment for waiting which was so kind and loved it. I highly recommend people upgrade their blowouts with a scalp treatment because the massage and the disappearance of my dandruff made me a believer. My stylists name was Gabby and made me feel so confident that customer service was still alive. She worked with me to find the perfect braid for my short hair and I absolutely love it. I don't understand the negative reviews I've seen, as I have found Afterglow to be nothing but professional, reasonably priced, and absolutely spotless clean compared to other tanning salons I've visited. The employees I've encountered have been kind and knowledgeable. Also, I've found the tanning beds to be quite superior with not only the Matrix, but the newest bed (not sure of the name of it but it has Vitamin D lamps, collagen lamps, and high pressure lamps). I'm fairly certain the owners have spared no expense to make this business thrive. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to tan which is reasonable as far as I'm concerned.
