Ok, so I have been going in for about 2.5 weeks, utilizing the groupon special rate, which I didn't even know about when I walked in, but they offered to me anyway! I have used the traditional beds as well as a couple upgrades to the matrix bed. All are clean, and adequately cooled/ventilated. I have also purchased one of the accelerating lotions recommended to me, which I love. Every time I call, and every time I step in, Jennifer or Caitlyn are so genuine and friendly. I love it. I'm actually sad to have accomplished my goal (getting a base layer before vacation to prevent burning) cause that means my tanning is over! :( But if I am in fresno and find myself in need of tanning services again I would LOVE to return, and will be recommending them to my friends! I was informed if I pay 11$ more that I can use matrix once and there shouldn't be a wait. So paid but have not tanned. I've never experienced this before. I've tanned before at other places and never this. Tempted to get money back and just drive a bit further so I can tan. So not happy. Also spray tan was bad and they blamed me for it being blotchy and areas missed. Have a event today and the response was you didn't spread your fingers apart apparently. I'm not a professional spray Tanner. So upset. Now I have to spend time trying to remove the umpa lumpa color and fix the disaster that I have. First spray tan experience was a nightmare. I called today and after they said that they would refund me for the spray tan now they are refusing to do so and telling me to go through Groupon, Groupon said it's their responsibility to refund for poor services and I was given the month unlimited at Groupon price yet they say that I purchased it through Groupon which I did not have my bank statement to back that up and they are keeping my money basically saying I'm being forced to tan there!!! Outrageous!!! I will he notifying my bank that it is an unauthorized charge and contact the better business bureau!! Buisness should not be conducted this way!!! Total nightmare and please don't go there and become another victim. So upset and pissed. I'm also going to contact ksee24 and channel 30 to let them know what has happened. I have pictures of the spray tan disaster... I tried to work with them to get a refund but they are holding my $25 for ransom. That's the part I'm lost upset about because I have not tanned there since the purchase of the month unlimited!!! I would give the beds, the salon, and the staff 5 stars, but I can hardly get an appt and going in as a walk in is impossible--so I give three stars based on that. Every time they sell the groupons you can't get in n the evening unless you make an appt a week in advance because its so busy. Planning tanning sessions a week in advance is very hard with a busy schedule. The salon is VERY clean. The Matrix bed is amazing.--but there is only one. The staff is fun, nice, and helpful. I am canceling my membership when it expires due to the appt thing :(( I have been paying to tan elsewhere even though I have a membership just to keep my base tan going. read more

The only thing I'd change about this place is that I wish there were more tanning beds. Toward the end of the month, it can be harder to get an appointment. Otherwise, great staff, very friendly and professional! I love the Matrix bed, and the European bed is my second favorite. I love that I get a get a great base tan so fast and don't burn! The spray tans are custom airbrushed and the owner does them herself. She's very good at it and knowledgable about the after-care. I've gone here for years and I won't go anywhere else! read more

To tan or not to tan--yes if you tan you will like Tannery. The staff is always spot on sweet and accommodating and while the hours are hard if you work a lot (me) they always seem to find a spot. It's about $65.00 a month for four sessions in the matrix bed which is good enough to keep your tan once you have one. It's clean and they provide the towels and glasses and they have an assortment of tanning products for sale. (Kind of on the high side of price). Short hours on Saturday (9-1) and I believe they close at 6 PM Monday thru Friday. Note: once you sign your contract you cannot just call and cancel it. You need to go into the store and fill out a cancellation notice and give a 30 day notice so to speak. I see that this is a common, yet somewhat frustrating, practice at tanning salons here in Fresno. There is an option to pay as you go but price-wise, it's not worth it to me so I have a contract. Started here through Groupon and like it very much. Get the Groupon if you're a first-timer! read more

This place will steal your money if you put payment on automatic debit. We cancelled the membership and were charged two extra months. We called and were told we would be reimbursed; however, this never occurred. It has been 7 months and still no refund after multiple phone calls and even a visit in person. Very unprofessional. Edit Lexy T. 12/3/2013 The salon and ambiance are nice. However, the customer service was poor. I was not greeted, just asked if I had an appt. I was also given attitude from a groupon I bought. I purchased a Matrix tan but they wouldn't allow me to use it, but a lower bed instead. Which was covered in lotion smears and hand prints from previous tanners. I worked for tanning corporations in Oregon for 5 years, so I am well educated in all tanning aspects. I was disappointed and will not return. read more

I was just there this morning for a session with their matrix bed and I have to say it is very upscale than most and the place is very clean. The matrix bed is by appointment only, so make sure you call before coming. The ambiance is nice as they keep the lights dim for that relaxing spa day. I'm giving it 5 stars because it was a very pleasant session and will be a repeat customer for sure! read more

They used to give out water after your session esp on hot days (a nice touch), they had more beds avail for tanning, now it's limited because of broken beds, broken radios etc. I hope it changes back to it's full glory because I would hate to leave read more

I always buy the Tannery Groupons whenever they are available, because it's such a great deal. I have tried every bed they offer, as well as a spray tan. Each are amazing. The spray tan lasts longer than any other spray tan I've received! The rooms are always clean, they change the bulbs on a regular basis, and the staff is very friendly. Best tanning salon I have ever gone to (and I've gone to a lot). Very good pricing and the best beds. Staff is nice (especially the owner) and always have appointments open. The matrix (high bed) tans me the best if I need something within a month and no burn. The European is the best regular bed because it's literally a bed and the lights on top so you just have to roll over. I fall asleep every time and it beeps to let me know time to flip over or I'm done. I've never burned and before I moved out of fresno was a year round customer (only needing to go at most 3-4 times a month). read more

I normally tan at a different shop but decided to try this place as they were offering a Groupon. Big mistake!!! The girl that was there for most of my appointments looked and acted like she hates her job and you're a bother to her. They only have one standard bed and the room is extremely hot as it seems to not have a vent for AC (they put a portable AC in the room). I could never go for the full amount of time as the bed itself gets extremely hot to the touch and I tan very well (I have never had this experience before in the other Tanning business). Must make an appointment but they run late for the appointments you make. A majority of the time you have to wait to start the bed because the system isn't ready or the front desk girl doesn't tell it to start (who knows why this is happening). I had to wait in a room about 7 to 10 minutes for the bed to set so I could start my session and at this point it is pushing everyone else's appointment back due to their lack of service, so as my session was finally complete I get out of the bed to put clothes on not one minute goes by and the employee is knocking on the door for me to hurry due to the next appointment is waiting. I've had to exit the room to tell them that the bed is not starting on numerous occasions and they tell me that I have to just wait the timer needs to reset. On my last day of tanning I had an 8:00 AM appointment. When I went to the front door at 8 o'clock it was locked. I knocked with no avail and waited a couple minutes. I called the business with no answer. Decided to leave after four or five minutes of waiting outside. On my way back home I called again and the girl whom I believe was the owner answered. I said I had an 8 o'clock appointment and the door was locked and proceeded to tell her I also knocked. She stated she was in the back and why didn't I call? I informed her I did call but no one had answered. She didn't seem to care about my time wasted. We rescheduled for the afternoon. (Note: they require a two hour cancellation notice if you're going to miss your appointment but they do not hold true to the appointment that you have). About 20 minutes later she called me back and stated my month had expired as of yesterday so I did not have an appointment unless I was going to purchase another package. The funny thing is, I had a print out of my whole month and it ended today Friday the 24th. I was not going to bother to argue with her as it seemed that nobody there seems to cares about the customer service side of the business and or the customers time wasted! I will never go back to this establishment nor pay full price to go to this establishment nor pay a Groupon price to go to this establishment. They do not care about their customers time who support their business. I will take my business elsewhere and you should as well!! read more

In previous years I haven't had such difficulty scheduling. I have been a client for years and not had issues. Now it's an issue. And when I try to schedule my next appt, the girl is rushing me, talking super fast, asking me my name again, and there was NO OTHER CUSTOMERS there. Why are you rushing me? I'm just trying to make an appt!! And they didn't have anything available that works with my schedule. I think I'll be trying a new place next time. Customer service is important to me. read more

Hours posted are misleading. Called twice to make an appointment at 11:00AM and 1:00PM, no call back. I went by at 1:20 PM and they were closed with a note posted saying they will be Open for scheduled appointments even though it's a "MONDAY" and they should be open during their POSTED HOURS. I don't recommend this place. They will be out of business before you know it. read more

The Tannery engages in unethical business practices. After submitting the form to cancel my membership, they charged my credit card for additional months. I tried multiple times to remedy the problem and they avoided reimbursing me. They already have a Better Business Bureau complaint against them for this behavior. I got a groupon to get a spray tan from my sister at the Tannery. The experience was a little odd....you get as naked as you want and a woman comes into the room and sprays you with an air gun filled with spray tan...Weird, however, the tan looked awesome and as the technician told me (I forgot her name) by doing it with the gun you get a better over-all color as she is able to make it individualized to your specific body. I don't look orange or off-color and there was no weird smell. So, rock on, I can go to the beach and not look pasty white! read more

if you purchase groupons, be aware that they will randomly cancel your scheduled appointment if you do not call them back to confirm the appointment! I was working, so I didnt answer their call to confirm my scheduled apt. (keep in mind that I have been a good customer of there's for at least 6 months prior). I received another msg a couple hours later saying, "since you didnt call back to confirm your appointment, we have moved the time to 4pm."
