Regarding service this place is great, the owner must be a great judge of character because over 5 years I've never seen the same staff member twice, but each has been friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I only get mystic tans here. I haven't used the beds so I can't speak to their quality or comfort. The mystic booth is never out of order, but maybe it should be... sometimes. Or perhaps just cleaned a little more thoroughly between patrons. What keeps this from a 4 or 5 star review is the overspray collects on the walls of the booth... sometimes resulting in a "supertan" spot on your hip or elbow if you are even slightly clumsy (I am) and manage to tap the walls inadvertently As a workaround, I have always wiped down the walls before I get in with the previous customers used towel (I know. Gross) and often that's enough. But sometimes the buildup is pretty thick and I have to be extra careful. They have all the things you need here.. stickers and goggles and footies etc. Reasonably priced tans and accessories. They also sell some cute clothes and jewelry Pacific tan keeps good hours, seasonally, but definitely call ahead if you are planning to come in the last half hour of the hours posted. I came in to get a tanning package one month before my wedding. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The salon is clean and the beds seem well kept. I appreciate the option to make an appt in advance online, as I'm often rushing between things when I squeeze in a session. It's been quite some time since I was last tanning, but prices definitely seem much steeper now than ~4 years ago! I paid $105 (including tax) for an unlimited month in a level 2 bed. Use to be a customer when Linda owned Pacific Tan and then eventually I stopped my membership as the results were just kind of blah hum-bug, know what I mean. Many days they were closed with a sign stuck in the door ....Lights were not changed often enough I'm assuming, but Linda & her staff were awesome. NOW.... fast forward to AfterGlow Tan that bought out some of Linda's equipment AND added some newer & much BETTER equipment... the blah hum-bugs are gone. These ladies are on top of it in keeping up all their beds & equipment. Always open when they say they are & Always very friendly & clean salon. 5+ 's for AfterGlow Tan !! read more

Never tanned before and only now doing it for a wedding. I had no idea what I was doing there but the girl at the counter was super sweet and explained everything well. She made me comfortable with an essentially bizarre idea...(lie down in this coffin and bombard yourself with cancer rays!) She also came in the room before i got cooking and pushed buttons on the bed to show me how it worked. Really nice staff (I only met 2 staff but both were really friendly and helpful) and clean rooms. Quiet place, too. That's nice. I probably won't continue tanning after this wedding just because I generally don't go tanning, but as far as this business goes, they are clean and hospitable. read more

I think Stephanie and Susan are definitely the best people that work here because they are super friendly, they have answers for any questions you have and Susan can brighten your day with her engaging friendly conversation. My only peeve is that they close soo early and open so late. A lot of time I can't go because i am coming from work or school, and because of the hours I am pale as a ghost right now. The lady working at the front desk was very sweet and inviting as well as helpful. However the spray tan machine that I use I can hardly hear the words the machine was saying not to mention it didn't follow up with any type of drying after the spray. Nice little tanning place I just won't go there again for a spray tan. read more

Great place. Sweetest employee's. It's just about as easy as a drive thru. You check in get your tan. I've only got Mystic Tan's which takes less than 5 minutes. Then your ready to go. I usually go tanning a for a couple months right before Summer starts to get a nice base tan. I went to this business last year and remember paying $40 or $50 for a monthly membership. However this time when I went it cost 69.99. Yikes! That's ungodly expensive for a monthly membership and to top it off they aren't open 7 days a week either. They are closed on Sundays. The staff here is nice, its always clean, there's never a wait, and it's close to the freeway exit. The beds could definitely be updated. I ended up purchasing the membership anyways due to the fact I was already there and didn't feel like trying to find somewhere else and that they are the closest tanning salon to my home. However, due to how high the prices are now and that they aren't open everyday I will be finding a new place which makes me kinda sad. read more

I love tanning at Pacific Tan! The staff are so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They know exactly how long you should go in the bed and keep record of your previous visits. I was really impressed when they had on file the type of tanning lotion I bought last time!! The salon is clean and the beds are well maintained. They have great prices. I signed up for a month for $49.99. The staff consists of 1 person, which was fine because she was full of information and very helpful. I've been there two days in a row and I go around 1:00. There's no wait and I've definitely seen results in just 2 visits. I recommend this place for sure! read more

Small but clean store; clean beds with good strong lamps (and separate face lamps); and the staff is helpful. Not cheap but not over-priced compared to similar other businesses. Only suggestion would be expanded hours on weekends... 10-4 on Saturdays and 11-3 on Sundays is a bit limited. Overall---- a better choice than the Beauty Source tanning beds a mile or so down the street. read more

I have been going to this salon for several years now....today I wanted to buy another package of sessions but was going to be charged a set up fee of $40 to have my tanning come out of my checking account monthly. Its in the advantage of the salon to provide this feature but to charge the customer $40 is ridiculous.... So every time a customer buys a package you will be charged a set up fee! I am a regular customer, and should not be charged this crazy amount. I work in Martinez and its very convenient to tan on my lunch hour. I am very disappointed and unfortunately I wont be back. read more
