UPDATE: 8/17/25 after 3 pm-the EMT was also rude to him!! People need GOD in their hearts, there…read morewas no reason to talk to him the way she did, he is obviously sick & feeling alone & scared! So sorry he bothered you with questions. The other EMT was more understanding & professional Another one that breaks my heart to have to review the negative experience that our loved one has here. It appears that all almost post acute/hospice services including physical therapy services lack quality care. My daughter chose this facility, primarily because it's the closest location accessible to her, and literally walking distance to the hospital, which he would be transported to since he's paralyzed. That said, I'm just very disappointed. The recent negative reviews are accurate. The response time when he presses a button or we press a button while we're there visiting him at times is very unacceptable period. I get that they're understaffed, but for all of the money that the VA is paying for him to be there, you would think they would at least hire a few more people, and he's not the only veteran. there are a lot of veterans that are there, and they're not well taken care of. And I'm saying this based on his experience and what we've witnessed - all family members, friends and his former coworkers from the base-March Air Force. The other issue that is disturbing, is that some of the younger staff, particularly the younger males & the trainees (don't exactly know what their titles are), I've caught laughing right in front of him, making fun of him to his face, most of them smell like weed, and complaining! Complaining about him right in his face. He's not quite dead yet, and he's still coherent and understands what's going on. It's just very disrespectful and quite cruel! They also make fun of him because he's freezing, and he has two or three blankets, and constantly asking for thicker socks, and for the temperature to be warmer, and at times he's confused because of dementia, but he still coherent at times, (which is a majority of the time), he just has his moments. Now I want to give 5 stars to the head nurse, which I forgot her name,, 2-3 female nurses that are working on the C rooms section , I can't remember their names, but they are always empathetic to him including the one young gentlemen, with blonde hair & accent, he always remembers us. And last, but not at least, the 2 receptionists at the sign-in desk-entrance, if I forgotten anybody for praise. I apologize and can update this review later, because I do believe in giving credit where it's due. But for all the staff that laughed at him, complained about him and treated our loved one poorly and disrespectful. Shame on you!! The day is going to come when it's going to be your loved one, perhaps a spouse going through the same exact situation as they get old. Maybe you'll remember how badly you treated these folks-karma is a bi%#!

By end of day on Tuesday I called my primary doctor office to get a new referral for home support. Wednesday morning I called the new referral authorization they said they did not have the authorization yet even though I gave them the number. I destiny home health.com/ waited 5 hours & called back still they had not received authorization. I call my medical center back ask them to fax it to Destiny home, I waited 20 minutes & called them back to see if the received the authorization and believe it or she then told me they don't have staff to cover & was rerouting my authorization back to my pro. All these facilities are so unprofessional unbelievable. Not even my dr will reach out to to assist. SAD PART IS IM AFRAID OF NOT PROPERLY HEALING BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PT EXERCISES I NEED TO START ON MYSELF. BECAUSE I WAS TOLD BY THELMA OFFICE MANAGER THAT IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 2 WEEK TO GET A NEW APPROVAL.

day one we needed 24 hour, 7 day a week care and we had less than 9 hours to pull it off. Brent and…read morehis team got a crew of caregivers lined up for us with an hour to spare. We then had caregivers from this Brightstar office for 5 months and had an excellent experience. Upon discharge from a month long hospital stay, my mother was too weak to pull a blanket over her own head. She needed help with all basic activities of daily living: getting out of bed to the bedside commode, eating, dressing, bathing, assistance with oxygen, range of motion exercise and more. Brightstar Central Western Riverside's caregivers were 100% compassionate. All were well trained and transferred my family member safely. Mom even had a fainting incident and our caregiver Dania acted quickly to catch my mom and safely care for her until the family could get to the room to help. 100% score on safety and training. What was extra and unexpected to us as a Christian family: every single one of our Brightstar caregivers participated with us in family worship and were open in their expression of faith. This was very comforting in our time of need. When I wasn't around to have worship or pray with my mom, Wendy would. Our caregivers that stayed with us consistently through the end of our need were Wendy, Christina, Diana and Dania. These women cared for my mom like family. I had zero worries when these trusted caregivers were present. We also had great long term experiences with Brittany, Michelle, Asana and Margaret. From day one, special encouragement from Christina and Michelle helped get my mom moving and stronger with exercises each day. Brittany helped get my mom's brainwaves to function with writing exercises and puzzles. These women brought positivity into our home and inspired my mom to heal faster. (Hint: Christina also cooks excellent vegetarian dishes with an asian-inspired flare!). Wendy (a skilled CNA) was my mom's daily companion and was literally her extra hands. She would have thoughtful, God-filled conversations with my mom. She'd participate in her favorite hobby, card-making, and would help my mom meticulously complete each step. Wendy would go above and beyond the call of duty to be sure my mom was physically and emotionally supported. At night, Diana responsibly watched over my mom and our whole house. She cared for our home as if it were her own. I could sleep soundly knowing my mom was in her care. We had to request special assistance from two caregivers so my mom could attend my dad's funeral. Wendy and Diana worked as a team to be sure my mom was transported safely and cared for. This helped us as a family grieve and mourn. I can go on, but the bottom line is we loved our Brightstar caregivers. They will always be welcome by our family. I highly recommend hiring Brent's team at Brightstar Care Central Western Riverside.
