    Lack of good food

I'd like to start off by saying my mom has been here for about a month now and from her words she liked it but there are a few things they do need to take care of and change. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you have a loved one here I'd definitely say check up on them A LOT call make urself known that the patient isn't alone so they have someone to speak for them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd like to give a huge shout out to paul (the older one) he was the best very attentive very helpful towards my mom and so patient I truly appreciate the hard work SOME of the nurses/cna's put in[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] not only that but [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ismael (not a nurse or cna I think general staff) was so supportive real friendly really helped my dad and I through this tough process[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] so I'd say solid 4.0 thanks for taking care of my mommy

Bedsore about 1 inch. Last day he was at kindred the nurses and others told me it was almost healed. 1/12/24. minimum 6 inches

NEW The 1st morning I went to see my husband. To my horror, he was half off the bed hanging on to rail stretching trake tube to its limits and laying in his waste. How long? I even called the facility the evening before, to warn them about his extreme anxiety, that he tries to get out of bed. Everyone said no one told us. That same day, after we cleaned him up and situated him, the nurse comes in to administer his iv meds. Happy as can be. Later she comes back in laughing, saying she may have mixed up his meds with another patients and puts on her glasses. Most times I never knew what infections he got because no one knew the results. They will always go check and never come back or tell me there not in yet. A few weeks in, I noticed the inside of his mouth had brown crystallized gunk growing on his tongue, roof of mouth and all over teeth. Asked the nurse how long does it take for a mouth to get this bad. She said 2 to 3 days. I helped change him and noticed a very small bedsore. They treated it and said it's almost gone. Yay! Well my husband started going down hill. We had agreed with supervisor that it's time to turn off life support on January 7th. This was your worst nightmare. It was suggested tomorrow (Monday the 9th) to start this process. No I said. I need Time to process this. Can we start Wednesday? I go to see him Tuesday and his arms were moving, he was lifting up his head and mouthed "how are you?" His crystal blue eyes radiant. How beautiful he is". Of course I cancelled the end of life procedure. His secretions were a bit of green color so I asked why? Facility said they will run some blood work. Well wowie!!! They received results and said blood work almost normal. The facility then called me and told me he would be transported to madison grove facility either tonight or tomorrow. Great!!!! No infection, no bedsore. 1st day at new facility we found out my husband has "CANDIDA AURIS". By the way, when your bedridden you should be re-positioned every 2 hrs.which my husband was not.. here's a picture of his 'almost healed bed sore. Lol Here is a picture of it. This man has gone through so much more neglect at this facility, it could make a horror movie. We did have a few great Lvns and CNAs. Victoria, i am forever grateful for your care, concerns and kindness. As well as your professionalism. An Rt. Omg I forgot her name. Darlene? Older woman, nice knowledgeable and professional. She was my saviour when i was holding my husband up while nurse left for a minute to get more lotion.. i couldnt hold him up anymore so i started yelling for help. My all time favorite favorite was Yolanda. Please let that be her name. She's a small woman of color CNA. she showed my husband care, respect kindness and love. . Thank you.

This place is very unsanitary the building is old. How are you to get well when you sent there for an infection and the place is so unsanitary? The walls have holes in them the floors have rust stains from where water leaks constantly. The walls have holes, you can see where they have patched the walls ,it's just horrible!!

Lobby with nasty front doors, peeling paint.

She began physical therapy very early (around five months old) and worked with several wonderful therapists before we were referred to Up and Movin' Physical Therapy to continue her care. The team at Up and Movin', especially Ms. Cat and Ms. Bella, devoted incredible time, effort, patience, and compassion to helping my daughter. Their individualized exercises were exactly what she needed to build strength and coordination, and their guidance empowered me to continue her practice at home each day. Thanks to this combined dedication, my daughter began walking independently at 19 months and officially graduated from physical therapy by age two. I am deeply grateful to the entire Up and Movin' staff for their professionalism, expertise, and genuine kindness during one of the most challenging periods of our lives. My daughter is no longer delayed, and we credit her progress to this amazing team. A special thank you as well to Lily at the front office, who greeted us with such warmth and made every visit smoother. To any parent considering this clinic--please don't hesitate. The journey can be tough, but with the support of the Up and Movin' team, your child will be in the best of hands. It was not effective at all. It was very difficult to keep a 3 year old engaged and locked in a high chair in front of a camera. The therapist that I did have quit working there due to horrible management per a discussion she shared with me. The therapist following her were not doing much engagement as the previous one so it became a waste of time and I ended up cancelling. I decided to try again and in person this time in hopes my son would have a better experience. The first therapist they assigned me temporarily, literally stuck his finger in his nose casually as I was discussing my child's eating issues and proceeded to put his hand in my child's snacks and pass one to my child to engage in eating. I then was assigned another therapist who I liked and I was teaching her how to warm up my sons food to a certain temperature he likes and I offered to go to the microwave to do so and I got a sense she didn't want me to as she kept trying to grab the bowl but I insisted and the microwave was absolutely disgusting. Old food splattered everywhere for who knows how long. It couldn't have been just that day. I let her know and she said she will let the cleaning staff know. She wouldn't allow me to microwave the food any more going forward. Most of the staff was rude so I never allowed my child to do therapy without me present. I have observed children being mistreated, I have seen therapist putting the child's food and a toy in front of them while the are glued to their phone. I witnessed a melt down that a therapist had in front of a special needs child because she couldn't handle his hyper behavior. Lack of training with autistic children and labeling it bad behavior. The facility was always dirty. Pink mold in the sinks and feces stains left in the toilet. Counters dirty and no sanitizing the toys and tools they used. The last straw for me was when I observed staff yanking my son off of the floor because my child wanted to explore a toy room on his way out because it was the end of their shift. The staff member had no idea I was following behind and once I told her to let my son go, she became surprised and started telling him good job for listening. My therapist then explained to her that I was mom and she changed her character right away. I feel bad for all the innocent parents that think their children are being handled appropriately while they wait in the lobby. I'm so glad I never let my child go back there alone. The place is a joke. I decided today that I will not be returning. I know there is not much therapy options being offered in my area but this is place is a disgrace. No sense in a complaint because it is privately owned and nothing will be done. I figured the best I can do is share my experience here in case you are considering this place for your child. If you do, I encourage you to stay in the sessions.

The other EMT was more understanding & professional Another one that breaks my heart to have to review the negative experience that our loved one has here. It appears that all almost post acute/hospice services including physical therapy services lack quality care. My daughter chose this facility, primarily because it's the closest location accessible to her, and literally walking distance to the hospital, which he would be transported to since he's paralyzed. That said, I'm just very disappointed. The recent negative reviews are accurate. The response time when he presses a button or we press a button while we're there visiting him at times is very unacceptable period. I get that they're understaffed, but for all of the money that the VA is paying for him to be there, you would think they would at least hire a few more people, and he's not the only veteran. there are a lot of veterans that are there, and they're not well taken care of. And I'm saying this based on his experience and what we've witnessed - all family members, friends and his former coworkers from the base-March Air Force. The other issue that is disturbing, is that some of the younger staff, particularly the younger males & the trainees (don't exactly know what their titles are), I've caught laughing right in front of him, making fun of him to his face, most of them smell like weed, and complaining! Complaining about him right in his face. He's not quite dead yet, and he's still coherent and understands what's going on. It's just very disrespectful and quite cruel! They also make fun of him because he's freezing, and he has two or three blankets, and constantly asking for thicker socks, and for the temperature to be warmer, and at times he's confused because of dementia, but he still coherent at times, (which is a majority of the time), he just has his moments. Now I want to give 5 stars to the head nurse, which I forgot her name,, 2-3 female nurses that are working on the C rooms section , I can't remember their names, but they are always empathetic to him including the one young gentlemen, with blonde hair & accent, he always remembers us. And last, but not at least, the 2 receptionists at the sign-in desk-entrance, if I forgotten anybody for praise. I apologize and can update this review later, because I do believe in giving credit where it's due. But for all the staff that laughed at him, complained about him and treated our loved one poorly and disrespectful. Shame on you!! The day is going to come when it's going to be your loved one, perhaps a spouse going through the same exact situation as they get old. Maybe you'll remember how badly you treated these folks-karma is a bi%#!
