Earlier this week I received a visit from a young man named Trevor who said he was the hospital administrator. He had read my first yelp complaint and assured me everything here is not as horrible as I think it is but from now on if I have an issue to call the main number to the facility and ask to be transferred to his voicemail and leave a message. Since then I have left him messages on 3 different occasions for 3 different issues for pretty much zero resolutions. On this past Tuesday I was transported on a gurney 1 hour each way to my dialysis in hemet. The trip was brutally painful. When i got back I told many nurses, office staff and even made several calls telling whoever would listen (or who I THOUGHT was listening) that I refused to make that trip again. My left collarbone and arm are broken along with my left hip. I have a pressure sore on my tailbone. Laying on a gurney in a bumpy transport van for 2 hours total was more than my broken 70 year old body could handle!!!! I only go to dialysis Tuesdays and Saturdays so I figured in the 4 days in between one of the many people that work here could have relayed the message to this "hospital" and the transport team I would not be going today to dialysis. At 3am transport came anyway. I apologized to them for making a wasted trip and now my anxiety is once again through the roof. Long story short I did what Trevor the administrator told me to do. I called the facility and asked to be transferred to his voicemail to relay all this information as HE REQUESTED! They refused to transfer me and the nurse came back to my room to tell me they cant transfer to his voicemail because his office is locked. Now I'm no brain surgeon but, HUH???? I've had more anxiety this short week here then I've had my whole life. I am full of anguish and depair, and on top of everything physical pain. Since I know Trevor reads yelp before checking voicemail I believed this follow up would be a quicker way to get my point across. read more

I started a review Too Soon!!! In the last week I have had 4 residents who have not been conducive to my needs of recuperating. In The Last Week I HAVE ONLY SLEPT ONE NIGHT OF SLEEP! They proceeded to RUIN MY THANKSGIVING BY COMING INTO OUR Room AT 12:49 AM To Ask My Room B Bed Of How Tall She Was For Allowing The Pharmacy To Be Able To Provide Medications To Bed B When She Awoke In The Morning. It is NOW 1:57 AM, And I'm Not Sleeping Because Bed C Has Been Talking In Her Pilipino Language. Now She has Fallen Asleep. It's Now 2:00 Am and I'm writing my added review of Extended Care Hospital Who Is A Affiliate With Riverside Community Hospital. I'm Still Not Going To Get Back My Sleep All Because The Nurse Needed To Know How Tall She Was in 19B!!! At 5 Am the CNA Will Be Changing Our Briefs. For Me, I Have Been Wearing These Briefs For Over A Year Now Because I Am Not Able To Walk. The Administrator Trevor has been running this facility for one year and He's Only 25 Years of Age. He Left For Vacation On Wednesday. He had a Company Picnic On Tuesday On The Outside Patio To Express His Gratitude For A Year Well Done!! At 2:12 AM Bed C Is Awake Again Speaking Her Pilipino Language. So Needless To Say I Will Have Received One Hour Of Sleep Because That CNA Had To Change All Of Us Before He or She Gets Off Work At 7 AM. As Well As Continuing To Have Ruined My Thanksgiving Day!! So Needless To Say This Facility Has Not Allowed Me To Recuperate In The Past Two Weeks Here In Bed 19 A Because The Social Worker Doesn't Know My Needs Because She Never Graced My Presence At All To Room 19A. After Being Here For Two Days They Wheeled Me Into The Conference Room To Introduce Me To The Director Of Each Department. They Were Informing Me How They Can Help Me Recuperate While At This Facility. At 2:30 AM The Woman Has Woken Up Speaking Her Pilipino Language. At 2:33 AM She Is Still Awake. But Now She Has Proceeded To Sleep Again At 2:35 AM. Well It's 4:59 Am And I Might Have Gotten A Short Cat Nap Because I Remember A Little Dream Of What I Was Seeing In Bed 19 A. Bed C Is Serenading Us With Her Filipino Language. Bed B Has Slept Through The Night. It's Now 5:10 am and Bed B Is Giving Blood For Her Doctor. Now The CNA Will Be Changing Our Briefs. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! Thankfully The Cherry Pie Was Good Last Night And Now I Had Very Good Pumpkin Pie. But I Still Want Out Of This Facility! read more

Falls, poor communication, and missing belongings--unacceptable care. Please think twice before considering this facility.

Was transferred from hospital to here. Sadly other than belongings sheet. No one has been by in two hours to see if I am ok. I have been requesting a nurse since I got here. No vitals taken, no check in, no medication, nothing for the pain i am in. Not a good first impression. I will update. Update. Sunday. Seems still not having my medications right. No prescribed pain meds available. Have been in excruciating pain since noon. Now 7 pm. Honestly hoping I can make it to my release at end of week. I am being avoided by staff who don't want to continue telling me they have no meds. Pharmacy says no meds prescribed other than muscle relaxant. Cannot recommend this facility when it comes to patients with medications unless you have someone checking in on them. Will update more before I go. Serious lack of night staff, is one of biggest problems. Some of night nurses are lacking in empathy. read more

This is an absolutely horrible facility, they treat your family member terribly and have an excuse for everything they've done wrong. My father has been waiting over 30 minutes for a bed pan and now they tell me it's a shift change and it's going to be another 30 minutes. They do have a few good employees that try to help but the nurses don't seem to care at all. They do the bare minimum to help. He even went seven days without bathing. If you can prevent your family from coming here and being mistreated, I thoroughly recommend that. There is also unsafe wiring in the patio areas. I hope someone in the state or county authorities reads this and investigates them. read more

Honestly, it's one of the best clinics I've ever been to in my last 10 years. I wish I knew this place long time ago a very, very helpful and kind staff and very respectful. The doctors are very nice. They give me the time to express myself to talk about what I have. I was transferred to this facility on December 1st from the hospital for physical therapy for 3 fractures in my pelvic area. I was greeted by Estela Smith Yank aka "Star" who I consider the best CNA there! She gave me a very warm welcome and even though dinner had already been served, she managed to find me something to eat and drink. If they give out CNA of the year awards, she definitely deserves it! The physical therapy team here is the BEST!! My main physical therapists were James and Jaime who always encouraged me and answered all my questions. Each physical therapist there has assisted me one way or another and they are ALL great! They helped me find the confidence to work hard and be able to progress with my healing. I would also like to give a shout out to Mariavik, Edna, Arani, Ashley, Leslie, Letitia, Guadalupe, Raquel, Gary, Natalie and Marlon. All friendly and helpful caregivers. Rehab nursing facility. They need the helpers to be nicer to patients and need more CNAs. It takes them sometime to come wipe a patient 45 minutes to a hour to get help. Need water and it takes them longer to get that to them. read more

Do not let your loved ones go to this facility they are under staffed and it's basically storage! They do not give needed PT for short term rehab and your loved ones do not get cleaned or go to the bathroom on any schedule or necessary medication. When I asked for help they said it's shift change for a nurse aid and the nurse said she was off and it's a second job for most there so if they can not show you the dignity or compassion in an unfortunate situation after surgery at the hospital then you need to file a complaint with the CDPH 888-354-9203. 1st I would like to say I gave one star because it will not allow me to leave a review without doing so That thing said, If you care for your relative is your relative or friend do not leave them at this facility If my brother suffered a stroke and was placed at this facility. Within a couple of days of him being there I got a phone call in the evening, From the nursing staff asking if I had my brother's phone number. I asked why and I was informed that somebody had picked him up and taken him. I explained to them that was not possible because he had just suffered a pretty severe stroke They insisted And left me on hold for 5 minutes horrified until they told me they were looking in the wrong bed Within days of that my brother informed me that he spent the night on the floor because he fell out of his bed, When I asked about it the day crew had no idea about the incident and I wasn't informed until the next night that this indeed did Happen I asked the person that is in charge of the facility if he would document these incidents and he did not My brother's personal property was stolen at this facility The workers take up the parking spots including the handicap barking without having proper handicapped parking placards There are people with mental illness left in the hallway to Scream, If I witnessed one of the people with mental issues punch 1 of the workers in the face This is a catch all facility They even allow the people that have limbs cut off I assume due to diabetes to smoke in the non smoking area My brother was never assessed although a doctor signed his chart every couple of days I can go on but I hope you get the picture I have moved my brother to another facility and it's like night and day my brother is now slowly recovering or if I would have left him there he would probably been bad ridden for the rest of his life read more

I was in this facility for two weeks of the worst weeks of my life. The nurses are horrible. they leave patient in dirty diapers. They tell you they're gonna get you some food and they'll be right back and you don't seem till the next day and then when they ask when you ask them about it, thank you upset Jasmine is the worst nurse they have if you are stuck in this place you don't get her a nurse. read more

UPDATE BASED ON BUSINESS REPLY I am not certain why suddenly you are concerned. I personally spoke with Adam on more than one occasion as well as the charge nurse to no avail. Not one time was my brother ever seen by an actual Dr for assessment! When we brought up concerns We were told several times "We will help coordinate the move". This place is a hell hole and should be shut down! Patients are left in wheel chairs in the hallways for hours!!! I was able to wander the facility looking into patients rooms with out being checked in or questioned and while doing so I noticed several patients with urine bags that were full to the rim! Since moving to a new facility my brother has been seen by two actual DOCTORS! One has to wonder if some kind of insurance fraud is going on here between the Dr's and the facility. I may go back one day and wander in, walking the halls, just to take photos and prove what a joke this place is! DISGUSTING!! Where do I start. My brother was placed here by his insurance and was here for about one month until we had him moved. 1. He was never seen by a physician NOT ONCE while there for an assessment. 2. He fell and we were not advised. I only found out when I saw a band aid. 3. His clothes were stolen THREE TIMES. 4. They called us to say they couldn't find him. It was the wrong patient. 5. Place is filthy. 6. Patients screaming wandering the halls. 7. They wouldn't bathe him unless we asked. 8. Did I mention place is filthy? 9. Staff takes up all parking including handicap. My Dad had a major stroke and was taken from the hospital to Extended Care. It was very emotional for us and we had many questions. Everyone was so kind and caring and supportive. My mother was at Extended Care for almost three months. The administrators and support staff were extremely helpful in getting her what she needed. The patient care staff, including house keepers, CNA's, kitchen staff, were all task oriented and did their jobs well. They were diligent in noticing details and keeping tabs and track of your loved ones health along with excellent care of your loved one. . They accepted me in WITHOUT being prepared for my stay. They didn't have any of the medications needed for my pain management, much less my regular maintenance meds, which SERIOUSLY INCLUDES my INSULIN, as I'm a T1 diabetic. Before getting into the medication issue let me start by saying my initial welcome was far from ideal. I as a smoker asked if I could go out to have a smoke to VERY promptly having not 1 but 2 aides tell the woman checking me in that 1. I'M NOT DOING IT, I'M ON MY BREAK! to 2.THE ONE BEHIND ME SAY SHE'S NOT MY PATIENT AND SHE'S NOT IN MY AREA! Now once I'm actually in my room, occupied by two other ladies that were really nice, I'm asked is there anything we can do for you? I said yes, I've been without my pain medications as well as my others and am in dire need of them. Their words are we don't have anything here yet to give you because of the pharmacy. This is not heartwarming news to anyone who's just gone through 2 major surgeries in 8 days' time frame. After my room mates and I decided to try to go to bed, NOT ONE person did rounds to check on patient status other than one coming in really early in the morning to check by blood glucose levels to promptly tell me WOW IT'S HIGH 511, this being a number that no matter how, what, why or where should have been taken quite seriously as I could have gone into Diabetic Keto Acidosis, which in the long run could have put me in a coma and it was never addressed with fluids, IV's or insulin injections whatsoever. Nor were my roommates checked on, which should have been done as the woman to my right was in good spirits when we shut out the lights, but in the meantime passed away and wasn't discovered until 730 the following morning. Not something you want to wake up to when they are calling out if you want coffee or tea!!! When the CNA went to her bedside to see if she wanted anything is when she promptly started screaming the womans name yelling she's dead. Thus, turning the room into a complete clown show as no one seemed to know what to do other than attempt chest compressions and administer way to high of a liter count of oxygen, knowing she's already had Rigor Mortis set into her jaw and other parts of her body and was confirmed by the Paramedics once they arrived on scene. Following all this my other roommate and I were subjected to her being left in the room instead of her being taken to a different part of the facility, so we didn't have to remain in the same room as someone deceased. Now, this brings me to the treatment of the patients. I observed multiple occasions where patients were treated like they were less than nothing. Harsh words, being yelled at, pushed around and left sitting or lying Willy Nilly all over the hallways and so-called rec room just to be forgotten about. There seemed to be no means of reputable communication between any of the staff, and when they walked past you, they just blew you off as if you didn't exist or were invisible (NO EYE CONTACT, SMILE OR GREETING WHATSOEVER). Once Adam the Director heard of me packing up my belongings once my sister and her husband got there to visit, he came to talk to me, and I let him, and his Director of Nursing know how I truly felt and what I'd experienced just in a mere 24-hour period of time. If you're going to have staff in the medical profession and in charge of the care of patients they need to skilled in the qualities of compassion, empathy, sympathy and all-around human nature... If all these people want to do is to bully up on and show superiority toward someone who's not able to handle it themselves then they need to take up a profession in the wrestling rink and not one in the medical profession which is supposed to be along the lines of actually caring for someone who's unable to in the interim. I truly feel for those who have no choice but to be stuck in such a place as this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. read more

I wouldn't give this place any stars, but unfortunately I have to give them at least one to leave a review. My grandmother was here to recover from a hip surgery and the staff is very unprofessional. They neglect their patients and have no sympathy for them. My grandmother was here for about two weeks and within those two weeks she started to get really weak due to them neglecting her and not feeding her after we had told them she wouldn't eat on her own. The staff yells at you, gives you attitude & say remarks as you're passing by. No one ever has any information and you go in circles while they give you a snotty attitude. Most of the time the staff are just chitchatting and don't attend the patients when they need it. Wouldn't recommend you bringing any loved ones here if you really care about them! read more

I have written many reviews about different kind of businesses. Unfortunately this time the review is not good. This place is supposed to take care of people when they are sick or in hospice. With the exception of a few staff that they go the extra mile (they know who they are) the rest of the place is permeated with apathy and a sentiment of not caring for basic human needs. Patients' needs are getting lost frequently. Families are not treated with the respect they deserve, as everyone deserves. As I said in the beginning it is sad because this is a place where people in real need go to. With tears in my eyes PLEASE DONT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. My loved one was here less then two days and was treated so bad. They have more patients then staffing and staffing that doesn't have enough knowledge. If I didn't go visit him, he would of been hurt more. Long story short my loved one needs a neck brace on because he has a fractured neck. I showed up and he didn't have the neck brace on. They took it off of him and he had it off for more then 24hrs. Everyone started blaming each other and no one was educated on his medical record.. There were more things that happen where he wasn't treated good... he was basically abandoned. My mother was at the Corona Reginal Mediacal Center for 5 weeks for TB. She was then transfered to Extended Care for rehab. Shame on the Administratuion staff at Extended Care Hospital of Riverside! They admitted Mom and then just forgot about her! No follow up on her needed surgery, no communication with her primary care provider and no communication with us! Shame on us for trusting them :( We kept asking and asking about the process of surgery. The docs at County hospital told us it would be done on the 29th so we knew that much but nothing else. What time was the surgery and where would it be done? Would she come back to the same room? They kept telling us they didn't know but would find out. Then the 29th happens and no surgery! Suddenly they didn't even know she was supposed to be scheduled for it! Did they not see her two broken feet? She had asked every nurse that came into get room for the last two weeks, did they all just think she was crazy? My grandma was just released after two months or so. The staff here at Extended Care are very attentive and super nice. Even when grandma was grumpy, they all stayed positive. I have to say that the most positive aspect for me was that it didn't smell like colostomy bags and full diapers. I've toured a few nursing homes in the area, they all smelled like that except for this place. If your loved one needs long-term care, this is the best in Riverside County for sure! read more

From reading past reviews I take it that the place has undergone some staff changes as I saw no evidence of neglect or harshness the day I was there. I was in this hospital for 100 days following a car accident. All the nurses are caring. All the physical therapist are dedicated to helping those that need help. The physical therapist that helped me the most is Hardy. He knew I would walk again after working with me while non weight barren and stuck in bed and I started to walk while there. I will continue my therapy when I enroll in a outside therapy. It is a shame that covid 19 hit because before this the patients where able to get out and go places. Now with covid they go nowhere. Extended care is a wonderful facility!! I am in the senior care health field. I operate a home care company. Many of my patients come from skilled nursing facilities. I work the entire county of Riverside. Extended care is 5 stars for a reason. The operation is ran very well from top to bottom. Mgmt is involved. Admissions knows their stuff. Please keep your loved one's away from this facility. Unpleasant smell at all times. Patients don't get their meds/meals on time. Very unprofessional!! So glad we took my grandfather out of this uncaring facility and took him straight to the ER, and was provided oxygen, x-rays and antibiotics. According to the staff at this extended facility he did not need any oxygen or any treatments. He ended up getting admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. My mother just recently passed away in January 2020. My mother was brought in to this place about 6 years ago with broken hips and had severe dementia. I would go visit my mother every weekend. I just want to thank all staff for taking good care of my mother. Especially CNA's Edith, Argelia & Susan, who work so hard and gave their best to take care of her. These people are amazing! They went out of their way to keep her comfortable and treated her like if it was family of their own. My mother was brought here the first week of December after a hip replacement at Corona Regional Medical Center. First off she arrived at the facility terrified with her blanket tightly gripped in both hands. As I told her, "mom it's me Nancy. We are all here with you mom." She replied without ever opening her eyes, "I was kidnapped." My mom was truly terrified. It took the staff 6 hours before they diapered her. We tried to find someone to help her and we were told "we are busy, you figure it out!" Every time we asked for her pain meds or anything at all we were told the Dr. who administers the pain meds could not do so because they were passing out meals at that time. My sisters, daughter and I were sent from one nurses station to another. At each one no one could answer our questions. My mom begged my sisters and I to stay with her at night. She was clearly afraid, telling us the staff was mean to her at night. My mom was a definite fall risk which didn't concern anyone. It was the lady in the bed in front of hers that told us that my mom would try to get out of bed every night after we left. One evening my oldest sister asked if she could please stay the night in a chair next to our mom. The nurse my sister spoke to said it was a very good idea for her to stay and that our mother shouldn't be left alone in the evening. Just before 1 am my sister was awakened and told to leave. The second time my sister stayed the staff couldn't decide who to blame for giving my sister permission to stay. I spoke to the Director of Nursing who told me he wasn't aware of my mom trying to get out of bed nighty. He went to my mom's room and told her nurses that he wanted an 21 am meeting with her nurses the next morning at 11 am to decide how they were going to handle my mom trying to get out of bed every night. The meeting never happened. I could go on and on but what I really wanted to say is ...If you do not have any compassion for another human being, if helping people irritates you, ect. GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS PROFESSION! GO WORK WITH ANIMALS LIKE YOURSELVES! My mom passed Jan.1st at home from sepsis which she got as a result of a UTI that was ignored. Shame on you Extended Care for not giving a damn! I gave Extended Care 1 star because I couldn't post a review with doing so. SMH read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ELDERLY RELATIVE HERE!!!!My experience at this facility for my mother was absolutely horrible! The CNAs did not respond quickly when my mother needed help. The therapist and nurses were unprofessional and liars! They lied repeatedly to cover each other's wrongful doings! Worst of all they do not safe slip proof handicap equipment. They gave my mother a commode without the grips for the legs which caused her to have a severe fall, which they lied about also. They did not call me to inform me about the fall and lied to my mom that they had called me and denied my mom access to teach me. The nursing staff is great! Other than that this was probably the worse place when getting admitted and discharged. Huge lack of communication, no instructions of any kind, didn't speak to a doctor. My father has no primary physician after leaving and they only gave him enough medication for a couple of days. Staff seems very careless after discharging a patient. I've called several times to get information and no call back. They also had my father sign discharge paper work and other paper work with out knowing what he was signing for. If you can avoid this place do so. Do not believe their sign outside saying they are voted number one in the inland empire. read more
