Ag Cuisine is a hidden gem inside the amazing Sterling Inn. Niagara Falls, ON. There are so many great things to say about both of these places. For the purpose of this review, ill focus on the restaurant. When you take the elevator down to the bottom floor you are met with a well decorated and immediate relaxing ambiance. The host is quick to greet you and take you to your seat. Seating is quite comfortable and the environment is dimly lit and peaceful. There are a couple of nice corner booths, and side tables for two. There is a large gathering spot, as well as several tables side by side. Close enough to drool over other guest dishes while still maintaining privacy at your own table. The drinks are plentiful and well crafted. I highly recommend the maple old fashion or the Manhattan. If wine is your go to, well, you have a great selection of wines both imported as well as from local vineyards. For the appetizer I recommend any of the dishes. My favourite go to is the charred octopus or the waygu and smoked ricotta meatballs. Either of these would make a great main! The bread add on is worth it, freshly made and served as a variety of types of bread. There are also gluten free options available. For the main, we tried the venison bolanaise and AG burger. OMG was it delicious. The pasta is handmade and venison locally raised. The burger was cooked beautifully and the homemade bun tied it off nicely. To note. This restaurant has its own farm and gardens. You literally receive everything farm to table. The taste well represents that. Every aspect of the dishes are fresh, and I mean FRESH. I am not a bread pudding person, however I will make an exception at this place everytime i come. I am not going to try to sell this, you truly have to try it to appreciate it. I almost ordered one to go. Its that good. the service is on point and we never had to wait for anything (except maybe the bill lol). Our hostess was amazing and very knowledgeable about the dishes as well as the history of the restaurant. Solid 10/10 and recommend you try this place before any other in Niagara.

Venison Bolognaise and Cabbage Walnut Slaw

Wonderful spot for dinner when visiting Niagara! We were able to make an early reservation for the bistro menu and be seated right away once they opened. Only downfall to the bistro menu is you have to be seated in the lounge area, which for a table of four, the tables were quite small. Aside from that, the ambiance was quite lovely with relaxing modern music, fun lighting (although a bit dark), and the rooms were decorated nicely. Our waitress was very friendly and promptly took our drink and appetizer orders. We grabbed a bread basket which had three different types (French, cranberry, and potato-onion - all VERY good!) and we also had the shishito peppers which were BOMB!! For dinner, we ordered the flank steak, venison Bolognaise, and the burger. Our sides were all great (can't go wrong with fries) but I highly recommend the cabbage slaw! So delicious! The garden salad was nice as well. My mother said her burger was pretty exceptional and my brother enjoyed his venison as well. My father and I ordered the flank steak rare, but we would have liked a stronger sear on the outside. We had to ask for steak knives as it was quite difficult to cut with butter knives. The garlic aioli served with our steaks was soooo good! Overall nice experience here! I'd love to come back and try out their full menu when we have more time!

This restaurant is a gem in Niagara Falls City! All the dishes were excellent and the people there were very attentive and kind. They seemed to communicate well with the chef, so their timing of serving was perfect. I was impressed with the garden salad. It was very fresh and flavorful. I also liked the ginger carrot bisque and the flank steak so much. The cherry yogurt cake with meringue and citrus card was also delicious. The chef's work was artistic and fantastic indeed. Their cocktail was also excellent. I tried "Berries, Beets, Battlestar Galactica". The combination of beetroot-infused gin, blackberry, tarragon, and lemon was nice. It was my first time trying Aperol, and the Aperol spritz was a bit bitter for me. Since I do not have alcohol in my daily life, it was fun to try such alcohol. The two women who served me the dishes and cocktails were friendly and kind. The interior was elegant and beautiful. I was glad to find this restaurant.

This lovely spot offers an amiable ambiance with a great playlist. All their veggies are sourced from their own farm. The culinary wizards behind these creations have perfected their craft. Their Signature cocktails, especially the beet infused gin, had us ordering a 2nd round. We couldn't be more pleased with our server, Melanie, and the staff. We loved our entire experience from start to finish!

Ok- so I'm going to be very honest with this. We checked into the hotel and the desk was pushing this place and bragging about it which sometimes makes me nervous. We decided to sneak down for a beverage first and were impressed at the decor, service and I caught a plate walking by us. We opted to have dinner there, it's pretty cool. Pick an app/entree/dessert for 99 ea. they had a few small up charges for certain things high is to be expected. Our server was Fallon, she was absolutely amazing, attentive but not over bearing.. helped out with the menu questions we had and made a few recommendations. I had the beetroot salad, beef tenderloin, and gelato trio.. the goat cheese gelato was hands down my favorite. My partner had the carrot soup, eggplant, espresso crème brûlée. We will be back for sure on our next trip this way. This is by far one of the better meals we had on our trip.

    Prix Fixe 3-course menu

Was staying at the Sterling Inn where the AG is located, and had a lovely dinner here. Has an elegant interior, sort of a throwback to the 90s but in a good way. We opted to eat off the much less expensive Bistro menu, a $25 per person experience instead of the $99 prix fixe course. I had the flank steak and it was flavorful and cooked nicely. My partner had the za'atar and coconut shrimp which was likewise prepared well. I can't speak for the $99 prix fixe experience, but we certainly felt pretty good about our Bistro dinner.

We stopped in for dinner after eloping and had an incredible experience. The entire meal was delicious, and our server, Nikki, was able to assist with food and beverage recommendations that didn't disappoint. Not only that, but she provided us with a round of prosecco on the house to toast to our nuptials and insisted on taking photos of us doing just that.

Hidden gem! The food was amazing, the atmosphere romantic and our waitress Emily was very passionate and knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to explain every little detail. Perfect for couples for a special occasion, or for people who appreciate fine dining.

It's been a few years since our last visit to this restaurant. They completely changed the menu from a la carte to a fixed three course at $99 per person. In this way, they could sell each dish at higher price compared to ordering them alone. We each ordered one three-course, and added a main dish for the kid at $56. They provided us a basket of bread before any dish was served. The bread was a bit dry from my taste. For appetizers, we had the Indian candy and the salads. Both were decent. The salads with goat cheese fondue was quite refreshing. I just obtained some new knowledge that Indian candy was just a way of making the smoked salmon. It was dried smoked salmon. For mains, we tried the beef tenderloin (+$8), the rabbit and the branzino dish. Overall, I like the steak the most. It was so juicy and tender. The sides (spinach and mashed potatoes) were also yummy. The rabbit was a bit salty but it was still tasty. I didn't like how they cooked the seafood dish though. Other than the shrimp, every types of fish in the plate were overcooked and not having enough flavour. For desserts, we tried the gelato combination (stawberry ginger, salt toffee, chocolate brownie) and the chocolate cheesecake. Both were good but not wowing. The stawberry ginger flavour was a bit weird to me, I prefer it without the ginger flavour. Overall, everything was a little pricy at the tourists' area, but it's still worth it with the good food quality and the nice ambiance.

This is a farm-to-table restaurant and is a hidden gem, literally since it is not in the tourist area of Niagara Falls. The restaurant has its own farm located in Niagara Falls. The restaurant is inside the Stirling Inn & Spa Hotel. We ate there before over 10 years ago, but it was not a farm-to-table restaurant at that time. The menu is now a three-course fine dining dinner at $99, with a few mains with up-charges. There are also curated wine pairings with each dish. You can order extra appetizers at $12 each. This was useful because I went with my mom this time and she could not eat much so I ordered two extra appetizers for her. You are able to order each dish separately but will be charged room-service rates, which they implied would be far more expensive. So it seems the Stirling Inn guests can order room service from this fine dining restaurant. Each table comes with complimentary bread (raisin bread and sourdough bread) along with soft honey butter. The farm raises they own bees to produce their own honey, which they also sell in jars. We were also given complementary apple cider to start. I ordered the following for my $99 meal: 1. Fall Harvest Quinoa and Greens. Goats cheese fondue, roasted roots, shaved fennel, crusted pistachio, ginger pear dressing. 2. Birch Syrup Glazed Loin of Canadian Red Deer. I chose the deer to be cooked medium rare. Braised raisin and blue cheese purple cabbage, pan-fried sunchokes, walnuts, red currant jus. 3. Apple Pie Spice Mille Feuille. Sugar filo, citrus mascarpone, salted caramel shortbread, apple gel. I also ordered a glass of Pepsi, for which didn't appear in my bill (shh, don't tell anyone!). My mother ordered the following two appetizers: 1. Roasted Farm Beets. House smoked veal tongue, red cabbage slaw, farm fennel puree, seabuckthorn gel. 2. Chili Citrus Grilled Octopus. Charred apple ginger cabbage, pickle pearls, dill labneh. Every dish was superbly presented and tasted fantastic! The service was also superb. Our server was Mel. The seating area is elegant. The Fall Harvest Quinoa and Greens had the right mixture of tastes, and the goat cheese was subtle. The smoked veal tongue was cooked just right. The octopus was cooked perfectly; other restaurants tend to overcook it. My mom loved it so much she was tempted to order another one to take home but it won't taste the same reheated. The red deer was juicy and tender (since it was medium-rare) and the raisins were a nice touch. The Mille Feuille didn't look like a normal one; it was the chef's interpretation. It had soft and crunchy parts and wasn't overly sweet. There is free WiFi from the hotel. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are 2 wheelchair ramps if you enter from the restaurant's main entrance and then you must take the hotel's elevator down! There are separate male/female washrooms (that are also wheelchair accessible) downstairs in the hotel part; wheelchairs must take an elevator. There is free parking in the hotel's parking lot. We came to this place on a whim for date night after it snowed outside. It's a prix fixe menu. Food is superb -- the flavor combinations are unique and difficult to replicate. Our waitress was very sweet and service is great! The restaurant is by a hotel so it was a bit confusing looking for the place. Overall very worth it!

Absolutely amazing fine dining cuisine. Farm (their own) fresh to table. Temps were perfect .... literally EVERYTHING was perfect. Food was explained in detail by our waitress Melanie. She gave excellent service and made it a unique experience. We had the salmon and beef carpaccio for appetizers and they were both unique and delicious. Our main courses were the tenderloin and scallops and omg were they perfectly done and a unique mix of flavors. Definitely the strawberry shortcake and rosemary creme brulee were an excellent end to our meal. This is just an incredible menu and mix of flavors you won't regret trying.

Superb restaurant! Service and food beyond our expectations. The chef using all fresh ingredients creates delicious dishes. Don't be fooled by the location in the Sterling Inn Hotel, this is a 5 star restaurant. Appetizers, entrees and dessert were unique and delicious. Must try if in the area. Free parking on site.

The French press coffee was spectacular, and the Chantilly cream I ordered as a side was spritzed into my coffee cup with every refill. (I always say, "yes" to schlag Sahne!) The menu has about 12 choices of gallettes (savory) and 12 choices of crepes (sweet). Both are thin buckwheat pancakes with extensive, yummy fillings. It was hard to choose just one! I opted for the galette Thalassa, which is filled with a mesclun salad, cherry tomato halves, mandolined radish and cucumber and red onion strings, covered with lox, capers, a dab of sour cream and a teaspoon of black caviar. I had a look into the display case, asked about some pastries as it was late in the day and they were closing soon. They recommended a pear one as it was always nice since some of the other fruits can be more tart in the winter. I settled on that and a latte. I swear it was around $6-7 which I don't think I can even get a latte for that in Ottawa. They had my pastry wrapped in no time. We drove up to Niagara-on-the-Lake as I had good things about that area. I asked a local what wineries recommended and was told about Peller. There are about 40 wineries to choose from in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Peller Estates ended up being an excellent one. We drove up to a large estate with fields. Bartender was friendly. We asked about wine tastings. Bartender mentioned how Canada has ice wine, which American wineries don't have. She let us sample it to see if we liked, which we did and opted to just get the ice wine. Wow, that was a delicious white wine! I wish we had that in the US. But in general, much of the US climate is too warm for ice wine. The grapes are out there to freeze solid. Ice wine needs to be picked below 18 F (-8 C). In Maryland where I live, winter can get cold, but it's inconsistent, some years barely any days below 18 F in Baltimore. Ideally, you want multiple days in a row for a more sustained freeze instead of rushing out for the few hours it might get down to 15 F. On the flip side, it can be too cold in northern Minnesota (where it easily gets below 5 F or -15 C often, which is the lower temp limit) or upstate NY. Also, heavy lake effect snow like that often occurs in Buffalo is problematic. It's a specific microclimate of the Niagara peninsula near Lake Ontario, where it gets cold but not extremely cold too often, not many heavy snowfalls. In the US, near Lake Erie is the sweet spot for ice wine in southwest NY, northern PA, & northeastern OH. Also, northern Michigan near Great Lakes as well as the Finger Lakes region of NY. The lakes moderate the temperatures in the winter if winery is positioned south of the lake, but needs to also be in an area not prone to be slammed by heavy Lake Effect snows like Buffalo. We wanted to sit on the outside, but there was a private event being setup. We sat at a nice table inside the beautiful estate. Afterward, we brought our glasses back to the bartender thanking her and saying the ice wine was excellent. She took the glasses back and said here are 2 clean glasses to take with you thanking us for our visit. This was an excellent experience. Highly recommend a visit to Peller Estates!
