    Lobster club and chicken schnitzel
    Rob C.

Best restaurant at Niagara on the Lake. This is my second time here and perhaps third if you count the pop up they had down the street during Covid. Service was solid and you can tell they are tilted towards higher end dining. Was great to watch the chef work and run a fine dining system for brunch. Started with the mussels which was a large portion with a great creamy sauce. Was disappointed though because they did not clean the mussels well. About 40% of the mussels had the tough seaweed in them and some had grit as well. Sorta ruined what was a good dish. Homemade rosemary bread was nice. Wife had the lobster club which was nice but could do with a little bit more lobster. At its price point more meat should be had. Th salad was refreshing and the bread was very nice. Goat cheese spread (while light) was a little overpowering and probably shouldn't be in this type of sandwich. I applaud the creativity though. Chicken schnitzel was delicious and large. Would definitely get this again.

Perfection again! We make it a point to stop for a meal during every visit to NotL. Wine list is amazing, and the food is even better. Menu is ever-changing; we were lucky enough to try Salmon with ratatouille veggies in a tomato vinaigrette and tagliatelle with summer mushrooms, beans, and peas in a miso cream sauce.

We visited Treadwell on local recommendation while on vacation in the NOTL area. The service is excellent with an open concept kitchen to those dining indoors. It makes for a very scented and somewhat loud experience. There is outdoor dining available. The sommelier is very friendly and offers a wide range of options to pair with your meal if you choose to forgo the wine pairing that is available with the prix fix menu. Our group of four found the appetizers to be excellent with a number of gluten free options. The entree were okay with one fish dish slightly overdone and sour/ salty and the lamb not properly rendered and also rare instead of medium rare. The deserts were decedent.

The experience here at Treadwell's is World Class, we were treated with great service and hospitality from the moment we stepped in to our private room till we left. Fantastic Servers all around, Mary was on point and had a warm and friendly personality along with a welcoming smile. Our meals were perfectly balanced with flavors, textures and accents in the right places. Amazing presentation, the attention to detail made you feel special. Love the open concept kitchen where you can see the talented chef's using their mastery. We started with 3 of their spectacular Charcuterie boards, followed by the Beef Tenderloins, Lobster Club, Slow Braised Lamb Shank and the Pan Seared Atlantic Mackerel, all outstanding! As a home chef I have travelled the world enjoying food, it is fabulous to have something like in the Niagara Region . Cheers!

I was lucky enough to be taken to this beautiful farm-to-table restaurant as a combo birthday and congratulations dinner and I can't stop thinking about it a month later. We had an absolutely perfect evening; the service was excellent from both the wait staff and the somm, every single bite of food was prepared expertly, and it was 2 hours with a loved one enwrapped in great conversation, wine, and food sharing. We walked the lovely downtown of Niagara-on-the-Lake after dinner to round out the night. What a special place this is. They proudly showcase where they source all of their ingredients. It would be a neat experience to sit at the counter and watch the chefs at work, everything they created was a total masterpiece. This is small batch cooking. They only have on hand the amount of ingredients for the evening to minimize waste and to keep the menu changing daily, which I love. I'd be so thrilled and honored to come back to Treadwell, and would love to take family here or special visitors.

Easily one of the top restaurants in the Niagara region. We enjoyed the prixe fixe menu which featured four courses with a total of four choices for each! We decided to have our meal with cocktails and beer instead of the wine pairings. Make sure you plan for a leisurely dinner, as ours lasted 3 hours. We sat on the patio and in spite of the light rain, were perfectly dry and comfortable. Our server Yvonne was excellent! She was always at hand if we needed something. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area for the Shaw Festival 2024.

Food was amazing. Loved seared scallops and pork belly. The sauce was very flavorful, rich but not overwhelming. The salad was pretty good as well. Not a huge fan of the crabapple. But overall refreshing. They have an outdoor seating area. Cute lovely place. Service was just okay. The server checked on tables next to me but not once on me... not sure it it was because I was dining alone. Didn't bother me too much.

Treadwell provides a reasonable 4-course tasting menu with decent options and food quality, but the menu is definitely overpriced. The courses could stand to be a bit more innovative and creative, preferably without the current excessive use of microgreens. The restaurant also does not have the ambiance to justify the price tags. The open kitchen is a standard, but it's placed poorly at the center of the dining room with no noise control, leading to significant noise spilling into our conversation. The decor is definitely a bit dated, with furniture akin to a simple diner or a chain restaurant. Plates are very basic and too small for most of the dishes served. With such a basic menu, lackluster decor and poor dining environment, it felt like I was eating at a Jack Astors paying King West restaurant prices.

We decided to check this place out during our weekend NOTL getaway. A farm-to-table restaurant showcasing all the fresh produce that Niagara region has to offer. We got their grilled ribeye and frites. It was delicious but what really blew me away was their Chardonnay steamed P.E.I mussels, in a fennel pollen cream sauce. Super plump mussels in a very rich cream sauce. 5/5. The service was also excellent, we had noted down on our reservation that this was to celebrate our anniversary and because of that they have given us complementary champagne.

Amazing restaurant in this beautiful little town. Our server Amy was the nicest yet and we enjoyed everything about our visit! Definitely can recommend the food, ambiance and service.

If you're ever in the NOTL region... definitely check out this amazing place. Their menu changes constantly and they always try to use local products to create their dishes. Food is always presented beautifully and the taste is spectacular. Featuring: Pan seared halibut with beets, radishes and greens - perfectly cooked and texture is on point. burrata - made from Buffalo milk it was the perfect appetizer for someone who has lactose intolerance. Ontario does have some fresh Buffalo milk available and paired with seasonal fruits - it was an amazing pairing. Lobster club sandwich - literally my favourite lobster sandwich I have ever eaten. The sourdough bread is fried in duck fat... it is literally heavenly. To finish a light strawberry pavlova - airy, refreshing with a hint of sweetness. Everytime I come back to NOTL I always try to eat at this place. It's a small restaurant because only the patio is open but if you get the chance, check it out - you will not be disappointed

My aunt and uncle, and most of their friends it seems, come here often. It's a bit of an older crowd here, but still worth checking out. Though, make time for parking because it's street parking and there's not much of it close by. I got the soup d'jour which was potato and leek. It was yummy and comforting, especially on a cold and rainy day. The soup was savory and not over salted. My main course was fish and chips. The fish was plump, and the batter was crispy. The fries were on the softer side. I didn't try the cole slaw because I'm not a fan. Service was friendly. I would state that you should come here when you are not in a time crunch. Not that they're slow - I think the food came out in time. But you want to take the time to enjoy the food, views, and company. Lastly, the atmosphere is more on the quiet side, at least for Americans maybe (I guess I'm feeding into the stereotype but also I come from a loud family). So something to keep in mind when you're there.

This restaurant was recommended to us from Naomi at Strewn Winery…read more We asked if there was a dress code as we were underdressed due to the fact we had just spent the day packing for our camping trip and driving to Canada. She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. My niece got a beautiful big salad and enjoyed it but neither enjoyed their pics as much as us other 3 did lol. The host was engaging, he explained that it's a family run business for the last 37 yrs and the last 15 years he and his brother and mother have been running it alone. His mom runs the hotel and he and his brother run the restaurant. I recommend eating here if you're ever in the area.
