I quickly called four businesses that advertised prompt Sunday service, but only one answered the phone and delivered on its promise: Speed Auto Glass in Alexandria, Virginia. After completing the online quote form, I received a prompt follow-up call. An estimate was provided, although I was asked to bring the vehicle in for an accurate assessment. Mobile service was not available, but I appreciated the straightforward communication. Upon arrival, I was greeted immediately. My vehicle was inspected and then pulled into a service bay for windshield replacement. Despite having three vehicles being serviced at the same time, the team appeared organized and efficient. While waiting, I enjoyed a cool, clean, comfortable, and spacious lobby, especially appreciated on a +90 degree day. The waiting area included a table, several chairs, complimentary tea, and magazines. My partner and I even had time to enjoy lunch at a nearby Thai restaurant while the work was being completed. Approximately three hours later, my vehicle was ready. I was pleased with the final price which included a lifetime warranty. The entire experience was professional, efficient, and hassle-free. What began as an unexpected disruption to my Sunday ended with excellent customer service and a quality repair. They couldn't come to me until Thursday, so earliest time it to take in was Tuesday (still not soon enough). Daughter took it in, left to waste some time, never got a call, text, nothing about status. Went back in the office 2.5 hours later, they seemed mysterious about not having contacted her, then said they couldn't do the job because they didn't have the glass. This after 2 days waiting for appointment, AND 2+ hours of it sitting in their shop. Ended up having to make another appointment for Thursday. A whole week blown. (PS they have no local phone number so I couldn't call later and complain) Scrambling, I see an ad on Yelp for Speed Auto Glass, closer to home, and sent an email quote request after hours. At 9:20 that evening, I get an email back, they could do it NEXT DAY for less than "other guys". I booked it, cancelled Safelite in a hurry. Daughter again took it in, was given 1.5 hour window, it was done in 30 minutes. For WAY less than "other guys" and so far below insurance deductible. Speed Auto Glass to the rescue! I'm VERY happy! No more Safelite for me!

This is supposed to be "Paintless Dent Repair", per their web site. Google up some images for "bad dent repair" and you will know what I mean about the pimples. The "dent specialist" told me that's the best he could do. Also, my factory stereo asked me to input the security code, which means the negative terminal was disconnected on the battery. I'm starting to wonder what else they had done to the car while it was behind closed door. Honda factory radio doesn't ask for the security code unless power source is disconnected. I've owned 8 different Hondas. I know about their factory radio units. I really, really regret having brought my car here to fix the dent. Now I'm worry about rust around that area.

Vitta Auto Glass took very good care of me. According to the company (Subaru) that makes my car,…read moremy car required OEM auto glass and a costly calibration in order to make the "eye sight " technology on the car work properly. It would have been over $1,000 after the glass repair and calibration, at the dealership. Vitta had a less expensive, aftermarket windshield and assured me it would work without calibration. They also guarenteed me that if the technology didn't work, they would switch the windshield out with to the OEM version. That assurance helped me a lot because I was doing research online, and most threads were saying to go the OEM route. Well, my car works perfectly and I ended up spending around $700 less than the dealership/OEM route. Everything was done at my house, which is an added plus as well.

Never once was I transferred to someone else, or placed on hold. Lisa took responsibility & made sure the work was done right! She helped locate my specific windshield, kept me updated with the order, and made arrangements to come out to replace my windshield. The only "negative experience" I would mention is that my windshield had to be ordered, & it caused a delay (a little over a week) - which still was a positive experience, since Lisa took responsibility of the issue & made sure it got resolved in a timely manner. During this waiting period, I switch jobs/locations. I had originally asked them to come out to my workplace in Fairfax, but I had moved to a new job in Alexandria. I called them this morning, needing a very small repair. (My car's mirror tab had come unglued…read morefrom the windshield.) They quoted MUCH lower than I was expecting for any kind of "house call" service -- it was not much more than just getting a remounting kit myself (which I had tried last year, going through three kits before finding one that would hold for more than a few days), and he described what sounded like much faster and stronger adhesive as well. They were a bit backlogged, with a man on vacation... but after finding out that I was close by (about two miles), he said he's got someone coming to the office in about 10-15 minutes and will send him right over. That person got here quickly (about as expected, counting travel time and whatnot), was polite, friendly, professional, etc., and fixed it right up. The visit was all done in about 15 minutes, after which the mirror was solidly in place enough to adjust it, with no sign of sagging or weakness. So if your mirror tab comes unglued, don't bother shlepping over to the car part store, picking out a mounting kit, scrubbing off the old adhesive, putting on the new, taping the stuff in place to cure for a day, and kicking yourself because it's not *quite* in the right spot... just call Fairfax Auto Glass Specialist instead. How are they on actual glass repair or replacement? I don't know, and hope not to have to find out... but if I ever need such repairs, they'll be the first I'll call.
