I purchased a new Wolfbox G840H mirror dash cam kit (with bracket and hardwire) for my husband's 40th birthday. I called Car Trendz to get it installed. My attempts to reach someone were more than one, but the many reviews about exceptional service made me think that I could trust Mr. Nguyen and his shop. When I did get in touch with Mr. Nguyen, he was very flexible about providing assistance, even offering within the next hour to install it! While I was over an hour's drive away and didn't have my husband's car, I asked about the next day, and he agreed. I drove down and arrived 30 minutes before they opened. However, Tito was already there opening the shop! I arrived ready to wait, but they worked very fast. Mr. Nguyen was very friendly and helpful. When Tito came across an issue with the purchased bracket not fitting properly, Mr. Nguyen kindly showed me and suggested a workaround. I was extremely happy that he took the time to talk with me, explain the situation, and show me another way. In all, I didn't wait long and still made it home for lunch! Was quoted a price for a dash cam install. Price quoted was to include the dash cam hardwired to use parking mode. Once there for the install the owner informed me since i did not bring in a hardwired kit they could only install using the 12v plug in and not hardwired for parking mode. I found Car Trendz through Crutchfield. As one of their Northern Virginia Independant Sales and Installation providers. Tai was fantastic. First thing you need to know, and deal with; is that Tai only does things one way. The RIGHT WAY! My New Camaro 1LT RS 3.6 only has 4k on it, and I had already been to Best Buy and they totally blew it. But Tai and his installer Tito are FANTASTIC. Tito made my Pioneer TS-WX1210A powered sub crisp and pounds hard. It doesn't fart, I have the remote bass knob at my left knee and he did ask where I WANTED IT. I even got a discount at the end. If you want SUPER CHEAP. Then go to Geek Squid. If you want it done RIGHT. I mean no interference, no humming, like it came with the car and was designed for it.5 Starz. GREAT!! read more

Tai is Rude, Unprofessional and Unapologetic. Over the phone I spoke to the owner Tai for a free estimate and told him I needed my HIDs installed and told me to come in for a quote, he told me it could be anywhere up to to $150 max. Seemed reasonable enough so I told him that I am an hour away due to traffic. Upon arriving to the shop, he takes my car inside the garage and tells me to come inside as well. He has his technician remove some panels and the battery to take out my halogen bulbs and tells me that my HID Kit is trash and that it is not worth installing and that I needed to buy his LED kit for $350 instead. He shows me his LED kit and tells me I need to buy it. I told him I will think about it before before deciding on the LED or having my HIDs installed. I told him that I am unable to return my HID kit and that I will have to think about upgrading to LED. Tai gets very pushy and offers to install and sell me the LEDs for $300 if i do it right away. I decline his offer and he starts to get rude and tells me that I need to pay him for his time and that the estimation is now $60. I told him that I just came for a free estimation and that he did not tell me there would be a fee for an estimation. He starts to tell me that the bulbs had to be removed and that he has to pay his technician.... I told him that I am not paying for a fee when he did not even mention it when I was there before he started and he told me it would be a free estimation over the phone... Afterwards, Tai has his tech drive my car back out and tells me to leave without putting my bulbs back in or securing my panels that were removed and the wires back to the way it was... Tai was very unconcerned if I will be able to drive home safely. After trying to get my halogen bulbs working, I had to drive home an hour that evening without my headlights working and without able to close the hood all the way... I ended up installing my HIDS at a different shop with no issues for $80 instead. read more

I've use Car Trendz three times now and have been 100% satisfied every time. They installed a backup camera in my daughter's 2017 Jeep Wrangler. That was 7 years ago and no problems. Then they removed a cheap aftermarket halogen headlight setup that my VW Jetta had when I bought it used and replaced it with an LED system that has worked flawlessly for the last two years. The old system was a complete mess and would just "cut out" which is real convenient at night. Recently they put a new stereo in my Jetta when the old one quit. The install was flawless, and I brought it to them in pieces as I tried to pull it out to see if I could fix it. The new Sony unit with Apple CarPlay is so nice. Am a long way from home but I gotta go with the best so I made the trek to car TRENDZ for my audio setup. The independent store carries ALPINE,PIONEER and JL audio speakers and tuners only. If you are not a fan of these labels you will be disappointed. TAI the boss man came to assist me with what I should have in my car. He is extremely helpful in matching what you need and helps with working around the budget if you have any. Be prepared to shell out some serious cash coz it can get expensive. The 2 installers are EXCELLENT.They do their jobs right the first time and reasonable wait time. OVERALL, I would recommend this shop to anyone who wants to pimp their vehicles. That sucks I been there 2 time for installation light they told to be it will cost me 600$ which I got done from somewhere else for 80$. Got there today for tinting I didn't want to go but everywhere else was booked talked to the Guy we agreed I dropped off the car and called Uber as soon I sat in Uber they called said oh you already have a old tint in the back that job is more costly I said ok charge me and he said it rudely we don't have time come and get the refund and take your car Lol these days you won't see any customers service thing in any business even though you have money to spend strange. I went in a few weeks ago to get HID headlights & LED fog lights installed on my 2018 Highlander Hybrid Limited. The pricing was reasonable, the shop & store are clean & neat (they took me back to show the difference in the new lights vs my original lights), and everything was phenomenal. The LEDs are really high quality (I bought two different sets of LEDs online & put them in myself & MAN their lights are bright), they stand behind their work, and they are up front about what you need to do to get what you want & what it'll cost. Simple enough. The installer was very professional & I appreciate them taking me back & showing me some stuff during the install, and they also put air in a tire of mine that was a little low. This is my second time hiring Car Trendz to work on our vehicles. The first time, they installed a remote starter in my then girlfriend's RAV 4. We dropped off the car and they installed it in a few hours, no issues. I recently hired them to install a backup camera and bluetooth/GPS/Android Auto into my dashboard. The first one I tried to purchase did not work with my Pixel, Tai and Tito both tried their iPhones and had no issues, but my Pixel would just not work. They even tried calling the manufacturer but they couldn't help. We even stayed after hours and tried using a new unit. After much research, we come to find out that that brand was not compatible with Pixels I had to come in the next day and Tai helped me find one that finally worked (Sony). I can honestly say that they genuinely did their best to help me meet my needs, even though we learned the hard way about that particular brand and Android Pixels. Because of Tai and Tito's concerns and their willingness and patience to help me test the product after installation even before I left the lot means a lot. I will go to them again for my next upgrade. read more

Quality work but poor customer service and wildly ranging prices. Been coming to the location for a few years but our most recent trip will likely be the last. Tai is unapologetic and not concerned with his customers or even his installer Tito. We had three 'appointments' to get the car worked on. Finally when he accepted the car, we left it all day and upon returning no work had been done. He expressed the true shame was that he only had one job installed that day. Pricing from the first quote to the final bill jumped $150. He offered conflicting excuses and offered not to charge tax on the job. Final cost on a remote start install that took two days was $550. We only went to Tai over displaced loyalty passing two reputable installers on the long drive down to Car Trendz. The location is no longer the only real game in town so my recommendation would be to look elsewhere (check the manufacturers listed distributes for other installers). If you have time to burn and can lock Tai down to an actual price, Tito does good work. read more
