Very colorful, had really good music playing, and surprisingly, not busy whatsoever, despite having a lot of seating and a bar. Then again, I came in on a Wednesday afternoon. Greeted immediately and seated immediately. Our server was nice, she was just very straight into the point but answered our questions. We ordered the queso which was really good, but not the best I've had. My friend ordered the chicken fajitas and they looked amazing. It comes with a side of rice and beans along with guacamole. I opted for the lunch enchilada with the side of beans and a taco. The enchilada was really good It just had shredded chicken inside. The beans were OK nothing wow. The taco was very disappointing. Agave Azul - First visit and definitely not our last We finally decided to try Agave Azul for the first time and wow... huge win. We showed up right at opening and were seated immediately -- always a great start. Elli, our server, was fantastic from the jump. Drinks came out fast and we were quickly set up with fresh chips and salsa. My wife thought the salsa could use a pinch more salt (totally personal preference), but the chips were good and addictive. We ordered the tableside Guacamole Mexicano, and that alone is worth the visit. Made fresh and packed with flavor. Pro tip: ask for everything that comes with it, and if you're feeling adventurous, add a squeeze of orange along with the lime -- it takes it over the top. Trust me on this one. I went with the lunch fajitas, served on a sizzling skillet just the way they should be. Plenty of fixings -- lettuce, pico, sour cream, rice and beans. (Next time I'll swap the refried beans -- just not my thing.) Great flavor and generous portion. My wife had the ground beef enchilada and thoroughly enjoyed it -- clean plate club. And of course... we couldn't leave without dessert. The Churros were an absolute winner. Crispy outside, soft inside, sweet and perfect for sharing. The online menu said to let the server know of any dietary needs. When we arrived I asked the hostess if they had gluten free available. She said she would ask and let me know. We were seated and she never returned with info. The waitress came took our drink order and I asked her. She could not answer so she went and got the owner. He said there is nothing in their restaurant gluten free. It would be helpful to put that information on your website, on your menu or inform your staff so customers know ahead of time before being seated, drinks brought, and chips and salsa served. read more

Service is decent. The shrimp queso appetizer was pretty good and the fajita pineapple entree. Ambiance is nice and, it's a chill place.

The food itself was just okay...nothing that stood out, but nothing I'd call bad either. Unfortunately, the service is what really soured this visit. I ordered fajitas, and they came out without tortillas. I mentioned it to our server, but nothing showed up. I had to ask a second time before tortillas finally arrived, by which point everyone else at the table had already finished eating, and my fajitas had gone cold. Not exactly the sizzling fajita experience you'd hope for. To make matters worse, when I raised the issue with the manager, instead of acknowledging the mistake, I got a series of excuses. When I said I didn't think I should have to pay for a cold meal that only got fixed after two requests, the manager seemed annoyed and put out, rather than understanding or apologetic. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect basic follow-through and a manager who handles complaints with some grace. This wonderful little Mexican restaurant has a fun atmosphere. We can on a whim for lunch and really enjoy our experience. Our server was kind and attentive. She was also honest about not having tried some of the dishes we inquired about her own recommendations on. Which we appreciated her honesty. Good, complimentary chips and salsa. The queso was okay. Also, great prices for dinner. My enchiladas rancheras was like $10.50. I finally found my 2nd spot for enchiladas. We are new to the area and have been looking for a decent Mexican restaurant. Meaning a place where the ambiance and food would be good for friends who won't go to where the really good Mexican food is because of the crime rate (Not in Edmond). So far, Chicos and Agave Azul measure up. The server was friendly and checked on us often. English was her second language, which is usually a good sign, plus there were other Latino customers. The piped music was a mixture of Norteño, Rancheras, etc. furthering our anticipation. The chips are the thicker variety and the salsa was standard, but I asked for spicier and boy did they accommodate. I ordered my new place test entree, Carnitas, and was pleasantly surprised. Flavorful but not charred the way I like. The rice was good, and the beans were different than you usually find in restaurants, but familiar to me (another pleasant surprise). I went here for a team holiday lunch/party. I agree with just about anyone with the service being TOO fast. We were asked if we were ready to order 3-4 times within 5 minutes of our appetizers being brought to us. I am always a fan of quick and friendly service but give the guests time to enjoy the apps and small talk. Plus we were one of the 3 tables during our time there. Besides that, everything was good. I got the Birria tacos. Tastes great! Beans and rice are pretty solid as well. Sopapillas were amazing. We tried Agave Azul for the first time, and there was a long wait. Lots of people in the waiting area. Much to our surprise, when we were originally told there would be a 30 minute wait, the staff got us in within 5 minutes! The restaurant was packed, but they had their system down, and service was quick! The food came out really quickly. Is the food good? Yes. The food is good but not good enough for me to return where a waiter has a history of being misogynistic and racist. I should also mention this waiter uses intimidation tactics to prevent customers from making complaints about him, while also intimidating the staff. My (white) partner and I visited here twice. The first time we had a great time and a great waitress. The second time, the waiter completely ignored my presence, except for taking my order. He would not look in my direction and purposely did not speak to me other than to take my order. When the waiter approached our tables he was not friendly, he said what do you want. That was his greeting. As he received more tables, his demeanor to more fair complicated people was significantly different than his demeanor towards me. I complained but the manager was not in at the time. I called twice and stopped by one other time in an attempt to make this complaint privately. I have yet to speak to the manager regarding this. read more

We purposely waited for the hype of this restaurant to settle down a little before we tried it. It ended up being a weird experience. When you walk in you may be wowed. I really liked the tile work that was done - they did a great job on the entry way. We were seated to the left of the restaurant away from the bar. This might be why we didn't enjoy it as much as others. It was a pretty tight room as servers were squeezing between tables. The servers are welcoming, but instantly make you feel like cattle. We felt super rushed and it did not make for a relaxing or enjoyable experience. They just wanted to turn the table and you knew it. The chips and salsa were just okay. It was not addicting so maybe that's a good thing? We ordered the chicken and steak fajita combo to share. While the meat cuts were strangely thin, it was marinated and pretty flavorful. Prices were very reasonable as well. But it was so chaotic that despite the food tasting good, we just wanted to get the heck out of there. There was no ambiance. After we paid, we checked out the bar area. This looks like a much better space, at least for games. We really wanted to love this place, but unless there is a game we want to go out and watch, we'd rather go elsewhere where the vibe is more chill. read more

Context - 2nd day since they've opened. Overall, a great new spot that's sure to give local competition a run for its money. Come try it, you'll leave full and happy! If there was really a critique, it was that the service was kinda iffy. Our waiter tried his best, but was sorta frantic and inattentive. He would come by and check on us, but it was infrequent and was between his sweeping, mopping, and running around doing a bunch of other things which he seemed to prefer to do instead as when he did come by it was brief and an afterthought based on his attitude. There was also bit of a language barrier, but that wasn't much the issue. His service wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. The food however, was pretty good! The queso fundido was flavorful and a bit spicy, but nothing unmanageable. The meat is seasoned well and the quality is certainly there. I want to try more than one dish before I go too into details on it all, but what we had was very flavorful and I think the menu has a lot of potential overall. The drinks were stellar! They lived up to their name with quality tequila offered in most of their drinks and even their frozen marg has some bite. I appreciate the quality in everything we had, with the drinks being no exception. Overall, this place has a lot of potential and seems very well ran. You can tell there's love and quality here and once the "new" jitters are worked out I think they're going to settle in very well. I recommend coming here and giving it a try! Upon entering Agave, we were greeted by friendly & eager staff. We got a booth in the cutest blue & white room. The Agave touches on the seats were a cool touch! We started our meal with the Shrimp Dip(Queso). It was creamy & amazing and the best part, only $4.99. After we decided to go with the Bandera Burritos & the Steak and Cheese Burrito. We ordered margaritas and they were large and delicious! Highly recommend the margarita! I ordered the burrito verde and it was very good. The pork was well seasoned and the.verde sauce was really good. My husband had the carne asada. There was a generous portion of beef that was very tasty. The rice and beans were nicely done!
