I ordered the asada fries and I'm still thinking about them. Absolute perfection. The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded (and I mean LOADED) with perfectly seasoned carne asada. The steak was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor -- not dry, not chewy, just melt-in-your-mouth good. The toppings were fresh and balanced everything out beautifully. Creamy sauce, fresh pico, just the right amount of cheese -- every bite had the perfect mix. It wasn't just "good food truck food." It was legitimately some of the best asada fries I've had anywhere. You can tell they care about quality and flavor. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and made to order. On top of that, the service was friendly and welcoming -- the kind of place that makes you want to come back and try everything else on the menu. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the flavor is next level. 10/10. Will absolutely be back. Edmond is lucky to have this gem. read more

This is one of me and my husband's favorite restaurants... not favorite Mexican restaurants, favorite RESTAURANTS. Sadly we were halfway through our to-go order before I even thought about taking a picture, so I don't have anything to show you, but take my word for it, the food here is AMAZING. But that's not why I wanted to write this review. One of the things we love most about Cafe Sol is how the people who work there make us feel when we visit. Tonight we had a coupon code (ya gotta sign up for their list, yo!) for free chips n dips, but you had to place your order online. We were in the area, so we just decided to go inside and order our food and wait for it. Even though we were just sitting on the waiting bench at the entrance, a lovely and kind employee named Cass still took the time to greet us, ask us if there was anything we needed, and invited us to sit at a booth while we waited for our order. She even stayed at the table to make sure our online order captured everything we wanted, including extra creamy jalepeno sauce (our fave). After offering to make sure we would have plenty of all the sauces, she brought us chips and salsa (and MORE SAUCES) to snack on while we waited, PLUS invited us to help ourselves to a beverage. All of this hospitality is standard for what we've come to expect from Cafe Sol, but we just wanted to say thank you again to Cass. We didn't have the best day today, but she absolutely made our evening! read more

I am currently stuffing my face and couldn't wait to write this review. HOLY GUACAMOLE. The food is incredible. I ordered UberEats and took advantage of their buy 1 get 1 promo for the taco platter. Went with the carne asada with black beans and the other was the al pastor with refried beans. Both come with a side of rice, a corn tortilla quesadilla & potatoes. The carne seems more like ground beef but delicious. The al pastor stole the show!!! I also ordered chips, salsa, guac & the queso dip. All excellent and wonderful snack. Lastly, my favorite was the chicken tortilla soup. Perfect in every way. This was my first dining experience with this restaurant and I am blown away. Can't wait to bring my friends here to dine in! The food was exceptionally good! I had the enchiladas, my husband had the chicken and rice with queso. (Best chicken ever!) The service was great! You order at the counter on the way in, then they bring it to your table. It's a small, laid back, clean restaurant. They offer take out as well. We will definitely go back often! read more

Food was amazing. We got 4 street tacos and loaded nachos with green chile pork. The portions were way generous. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. But the best part was the service. Once the young gentleman at the desk realized we were cold, he turned up the thermostat so we would be comfortable. Who does that anymore?? Definitely check out this place. read more

The thing I walk away from Cafe Sol remembering is the great service. The staff seemed to genuinely want our experience to be a great one. They checked on us several times and were eager to ensure we had all we needed. The restaurant is fairly small, and it was busy with most tables filled by the time we left. You order at a counter, and then find a table. The food was presented nicely. We all tried different things, and the best to protein for me was the Al Pastor. Friendly staff and attentive service. Real-tasting queso and the chips aren't oily or overly salted. I had the enchiladas de mama and it was good, but some of the sauces were more on the tangy side though. The rice and beans were delicious. We pass by this place all the time and today after scrolling through yelp I decided it was finally time to try it out. Let me just say this bring your tumms or whatever cause this place has some legit heat to not only it's food by too the sauces they bring out. I got the supreme tacos with chips and dips, like ordering out of a food truck with a restaurant attached haha. Great attention to service, never bugged us too much haha. Today I was struggling to think of where to eat.. as I passed by this little shopping center, I noticed this place have very high reviews. So naturally I had to pull right in to try it out! We came in right around 12, there was 3 in my party and maybe 2 other tables in the whole place. They gave us cups at the counter and suggested we get anything we'd like. I tried the horchata and initially it was a touch sweet but, as the ice watered it down, I enjoyed it very much! After that I tried the cantaloupe juice and it was incredible! My new favorite juice lol I ordered the street tacos, others at the table got the ceviche tostadas & green chile stew. They brought us free chips & queso/salsa and both were a good start to the meal. Chips were nice and crunchy, queso tasted like it was house made, salsa was chunky and had a nice flavor. The tacos were wonderful! I got 4 different meats and easily devoured them all. Being from Southern California we love our Mexican food, and Cafe Sol is LEGIT! From the incredibly friendly and efficient staff, to the fresh, filling, and reasonably priced dishes....you can't go wrong. My husband had a California Burrito (which if it's authentic includes French fries), and it was excellent. I had the Flautas platter. The entire plate was delicious. The rolled tacos were crunchy and full of chicken, and covered with fresh veggies and sour cream. We will be back for sure! read more

Brought my wife back here, wonderful cuisine. On a hot day like today where nothing sounds good - HA! The refreshing, cool Ceviche Tostada's hit the spot! I worked recommend trying this even if it wasn't hot! My wife went with the Steak Chimichanga and she said it was fabulous! Not sure what happened to the pic of my Queso Blanco but it was spot on with a nice crispy chip that held up! At other restaurants I get this thin somewhat crispy that breaks when you dip into the salsa or queso. Although there is no table service the ordering process was easy, friendly staff which provided excellent service. And the meals were delivered to the table! Now I gotta figure how to put this in the dining rotation for either lunch or dinner!! read more

The most "okay" authentic Mexican food. Everything looks and smells like it's authentic but soon you realize its not. Beans are good but really runny. Probably would look more authentic with queso fresco instead of the mixed shredded cheese. Rice is good but could use more tomato flavor. Carne asada tacos are okay. The meat looked more like ground beef which took away from the experience/quality/taste. Not much flavor so thank goodness for the salsa, lime and salt. Our order: Taco Plate, tostada's with chicken, and a jarrito for a little over $40. Glad to have tried it but probably won't return. read more

Holy guacamole! How is this place in Oklahoma. Super authentic street tacos and the creamy jalapeno sauce is muy bien!!! If I'm ever back in OK (hopefully I'm not) I'm definitely going to this place again. This isn't a Tex mex crap restaurant, they serve authentic Mexican food! Gracias Cafe Sol! After reading positives reviews this restaurant my husband and I decided to try it for the first time.. First off, like the last reviewer we stood at the from entrance waiting for someone to great us but that never happened. We then asked a customer there how do we go about ordering. We decided to share the enchiladas plate and two street tacos between us. We were so disappointed in the food. One thing is that we have never had Mexican rice with peas and carrots in it. This is our go-to Mexican restaurant! It's rare these days to see family owned places that are super authentic, but Cafe Sol hits the mark perfectly. The staff, especially Raul, are amazing. The restaurant has a perfectly comfortable size, and even though it's always busy, we've never had to wait for a table longer than a few minutes. Whether you like authentic Mexican, prefer tex-mex, or are even on a health journey, the menu is expansive and everything is delicious! I recommend the Birria Tacos wholeheartedly. There are plenty of Mexican food options in Edmond and OKC, but Cafe Sol is definitely worth a try. Two words: birria tacos! My goodness these are tasty, my friends. I love how they give you the jus to dip the tacos in (some places just soak it and it can get so messy). I'm a lady and can stay that way with these babies haha! The ambiance is cozy and nice. Prices are reasonable. The menu has an excellent variety too. The staff is always super friendly. I really want to try more of the menu, but I'm currently hooked on these birria tacos. Enjoyed a nice lunch at Cafe Sol today. I tried the street taco platter. I had chicken, carne asada, and green Chile pork. All were good but my favorite was the carne asada. I also preferred the black bean dip over the queso with chips. Just a personal preference but I like the charro beans over refried beans. Owner was helpful in making suggestions. I did not do my usual menu research and was just on the fly with my order. I needed up changing my order and the server was so understanding. My bestie and I both got the birria tacos and I got a sangria and she got a Paloma. We went over to the beverage station and got waters and silverware. The other patrons were nice as well. We sat down and got complimentary chips, salsa, queso and beans. It was all good and I ate and ate and ate. Our food came right after and it looked so pretty! The tacos were amazing. Good flavors and the potatoes were soft but still had some crunch if that makes sense. The set up did me in though. I could only finish two. The server coming over to me so I didn't have to get up to pay for the second round of drinks was so appreciative. Despite it being a downpour there was a nice crowd on a week day. The gals that took our orders were more than kind and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, helping us make best choices for our individual likings.
