I came here with my whole family to grab some late lunch. I was very happy that they had seating so we could push some tables together to accommodate all of us. I ordered the Grande Burrito with no beans (not a fan), a small Hillbilly Queso, and a drink. The Hillbilly Queso is delicious! It's kind of a loaded queso and I could eat an entire giant bowl of it. The chips are thin, but crunchy enough to hold the queso and make each bite satisfying. I got a Cherry Coke (self serve) and it was well carbonated and delicious. I rarely see Cherry Coke on a fountain, so that was a treat! Now onto the Grande Burrito...it was mid at best. When I bit into it, I was confused at the flavor bc it didn't taste like what I was expecting. I think it was some kind of guacamole or something, but it wasn't great. I made myself eat half of the burrito and then I pulled it open and just ate the steak out of it. The balance of flavors was off. I will say that the side of the burrito felt like a good bang for the buck, but taste wise, it left a lot to be desired. Always weird when there is a self order kiosk and they want to add automatic tips. The portions are very small for a $8 taco. The tater tots were mushy and soft, but the churros were exceptionally good and flaky. I only ate one taco, but our bill was over $60 for the four of us. I walked into this location just now to a the bartender behind the bar straightening her hair with a plugged in hair straightener. I don't know about you but every time I straighten my hair, my sink is full of hair. That is disgusting for her to be doing that behind the bar. Oh my goodness, I had never been to a fast food taco place that I loved. Torchys changed that! I'm in town visiting for OK State University and got a recommendation by word of mouth for Torchys. Reluctantly, I agreed to go and was not disappointed. The cashier was patient with us, being our first time, and he was very friendly. As a vegetarian, their tacos were delicious and had many options. The chips and queso were spectacular but my personal favorite was the friend avocado taco. I'd never tried Torchy's Tacos so thought we'd give it a whirl. Learned they had an app, downloaded it, placed an order, no problem. The app said it would be ready in 15 minutes, so I headed out the door. By the time I got to my car, I received an email receipt for my order. I took the address from the receipt, dropped it into my GPS, and off I went on my anticipated 9-minute journey. It took nearly 40 minutes. If you're like me, you have the understanding that in OKC/Edmond, if you're traveling on an east/west street, all odd-numbered buildings are on the north side of the street. So, imagine my growing frustration at trying to find 1557 E 2nd Street, driving back and forth, turning around several times in busy traffic, continually looking for the building on the north side, when the address doesn't exist. Eventually, I realized the restaurant was actually on the south side of 2nd Street, because the correct address is 1556. When I arrived, I looked around for an employee to alert them that their system is giving out a wrong address, but there wasn't one in sight. I did find my order, sitting in a bag on a wire rack, so I grabbed it and left. Since I'd noticed that the emailed receipt also contained a link to provide feedback, I figured I'd just do that later. Getting home, the tacos were somewhat cold and soggy by this time and frankly, just loaded with salt. It's all I could taste, so I tossed it and had something else from the fridge. I brought 3 friends who had never had torchy's (it's one of my favorites) we had a terrible time food was awful chips way too salty. It also took 45 minutes for our food and I asked about it twice then they stated they didn't know who the food belonged to ( we were the only people in the restaurant) I didn't write a review then because mistakes happen. Visited on our way to Texas, a coworker had recommended checking Torchy's for some street tacos! Overall, very tasty but on the expensive side ($5-6/taco). I ordered the Democrat and Baja Shrimp. Loved the cilantro and avocado! Majority of tacos come with sauce on the side. The Mr Pink came with a sauce on it though.
