The AGMG endoscopy center is in an older building in the same complex as the Anaheim Regional Medical Center on La Palma. While the waiting area in the front of the AGMG office is small by any medical office standards, it was more than adequate because [[HIGHLIGHT]]the friendly staff in both the reception and the back areas moved patients through professionally and efficiently.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I was asked to come into the back for my procedure, I was glad to see that the working area of the endoscopy center, including all of the equipment, was spotlessly clean. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My care team consisted of Nurse Tammi, Dr Kuettel, and anesthesiologist Dr Lee, plus a very nice gentlemen who started my IV without any issues, all of whom were wonderful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My questions were answered, and I was treated with care.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After my procedure, I was sent home with a document package that included a brief review of my results and clear discharge instructions. I am happy that I can leave a five star review, although admittedly my first impression was not good. I was referred for a colonoscopy by my PCP and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I spoke to the same man five different times over the course of two weeks to try and schedule an appointment. I was told he couldn't access my information and that I needed my medical group to resend it. Once they did, he then told me he couldn't access it and needed my PCP to send it again. On the fifth and final phone call, he transferred me to the person who then easily booked the appointment. Come to find out all the hoops he made me jump through were unnecessary and he should have transferred me the first time I spoke to him.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The day before my appointment we get a call from my PCP office that my insurance assigned me a new PCP. What??? I immediately call my insurance, PCP office and medical group and according to all three, the situation was resolved and I was good to go for my colonoscopy the next day. I didn't want to do all the prep just to show up and find out I couldn't have the procedure. I arrived at 915 for my 930 appointment, explained the situation and sure enough, was not good to go. They needed a new authorization. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Estefania in the front office immediately contacted my medical group. I listened to her get transferred, placed on hold and hung up on, all the while she is advocating for me. I couldn't believe how hard she worked to ensure I get could my procedure. After she kept getting the runaround, finally around 11 I heard her say " we got it!".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only was I appreciative for all her efforts but to the staff who still accommodated me and by 11:15 I was called back to get started. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff was amazing. Nurse Cindy made me feel comfortable and I knew I was in good hands.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The doctor and anesthesiologist introduced themselves and answered any questions I had.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Before going under, I mentioned how thirsty I was. What an amazing father / son team duo of Doctors Dennis & Brian Riff!!!!!! I have been so impressed with their passion to help me as their patient from day 1. I've only been under their care for 2 weeks and already feel like a VIP. Which doctor's office allows you to come in without an appointment and treat you right away and not wait hours making you suffer for not following their rules???? This one right here!!!!! Seems like this is how you do business. I was seen within minutes between other patients. I was even asked to call Dr Riff on his direct number for bloodwork results next day. Who does that? This doctor gave me his number without hesitation! You gotta love Dr Riff's sense of humor too. He called me a pumpkin thanks to my first time getting jaundice at our very 1st encounter exactly 2 weeks ago. I trust these guys with my life. They know what they're doing even while my liver is not making it easy for them. The front and back office staff is just as amazing. Every interaction has been so pleasant. This was such a pleasure experience. I came with nervous, but when I saw Cindy my half nervous was gone. She is so kind and warm, she prepared everything before the procedure. Commendations to the staff at AGMG for a comfortable endoscopic examination. Once admitted to the procedure area, I was treated royally, especially by my dedicated nurse (Huyen) who attended to my every need, including conversations to fill the short waiting periods between prep and the actual procedure. I was told the procedure was low risk and simple, but it is unnerving going under full anesthesia , even for a short time. For me, it was a little challenging to get my first appointment, and I did have to follow some strict guidelines starting 7 days before your procedure, but once I met those guidelines are, the process was quick and painless.
