He was local and received good reviews so decided to try him. He examined me and told me my left nostril was severely deviated and he recommended surgery. Not wanting surgery, I elected to try meds and spray which didn't do much. I had my annual physical with my doctor this Feb and while we were wrapping up, I told him I was considering septoplasty surgery however wanted to do a sleep study first. My Dr. looked into my left nostril and right away told me to get the septoplasty done asap. I met with Dr. Bliz again to schedule surgery. He told me he does surgery out of Metro South in Blue Island. I was really hoping it'd be at Palos Hospital or Silver Cross in New Lenox, but whatever. My surgery was the second week of March. First of all, I was all wrong on Metro South. The place was nice and clean and the nursing staff were super friendly. So that was awesome. Next, recovery. It sucked, period. One piece of advice, DO NOT bend over to pick up anything after septoplasty. If you do, blood will gush out of your nose. Yes, that happened to me just a few hours after surgery and my wife had to rush me to Bliz' office. Well, he stopped the bleeding and I went home that weekend and just laid on the couch, changing bandages every few hours. Dr. Bliz gave me his cell number and told me to text (I could barely talk) or have my wife call if we had any questions over the weekend. I texted him a few times with questions and concerns and he replied right away which I appreciated. After a few days I went back to him as he pulled out the crap in my nose and I was finally able to breath through my nose for the first time all weekend, however, my left nostril was still clogged. He told me that it would take 2-3 weeks before the swelling went down before I'd notice I can finally breath through my left nostril. Right around week 3, it happened. I could FINALLY breath through my left nostril. Dr. Bliz did what he said he'd do, fix my nose. Not only did he do a great job but he's super cool and friendly too, which matters to most civilized people. I will refer anyone I know who is looking for an Ears/Nose/Throat doctor to Dr. Bliz. He now has a patient for life with me, my family and my friends.

I've been going to Northwestern Nasal & Sinus since April. Yep, right after I got my cute little…read morekitty that made me wheeze and itch. Awww, but he is such a cutie...umm when he isn't tackling me at 2am when I'm on my way to the bathroom or batting at me when I'm in my armchair and not giving him the attention he demands. Oh....back to my review of NW N&S. So I went here after doing some research on both NW N&S and allergy shots. The offices are very spa like. I love that trend in doctor's offices now. Not so sterile and stuffy like they used to be back in the day. When I made my appointment they had me go to their website and print out a bunch of paperwork to fill out and have ready for my appointment. So I basically walked in, handed over my paperwork and insurance card and that was it. I spoke with Dr. Carothers and went over all my allergies and the issue of my newly acquired fur ball and he gave me my options. Yes...one of them was to get rid of kitty. :( But he was playing it straight and I appreciated that so in the end I went with the option that I originally came in for...allergy shots. I had blood drawn that same day, came back a week later and got my results and the paperwork of all the nasty little things that make me itchy, sneezy and wheezy and I started on my shots that same day. 3 shots a week is what I go through to keep my little bundle of joy but it is so worth it. The process is pretty easy. I go in once a week, sign in, sit in the shot waiting area for all of 2 minutes or so, they call me, I get my shots and I leave. Badda bing, badda boom. Well I actually spend a little bit more time chit chatting with the girls in the office. They are all so sweet. Allergy shots are working really well and...I don't puff up or grab for the inhaler any more when my kitty rubs up against me. :D Thanks NW N&S!

Up till now I've never needed an ENT, so I figured my insurance carrier would steer me well. (Not always the case. I've been to some weird places, let me tell you.) Needed my ears checked and figured due to the address located within Presence Health, he'd be decent. I was lucky. Many of the ENT's I had gotten #'s for had a thirty day wait. After the call to the appointment setter, I was in like Flynn with an appointment in less than 2 weeks. The good doctor was knowledgeable. Treated me respectfully (as the other reviewer mentioned had a great bedside manner), inspected my ears, did some work and provided some great advice. He also performed an examination of nose and throat in case. The visit didn't take much time. The paperwork associated was the standard, some 8+ pages, shouldn't take long or worry to fill out. Mainly signatures are needed for different disclosures. My only gripe.. not knowing about valet parking downstairs! $2 in the lot and alternatively $4 for two hours of street parking. Since I'd bought two hours, I turned the expenditure into an investment, having found a nice cafe to purchase a very tasty breakfast sandwich.

The people on the phone were uninformed about ENT procedures, lacked the work ethic to even try to communicate between my insurance and their office, and insisted "we'll just figure it out after your visit." Like after I get my bill. This is not how modern doctors work, they need to update their administrative services. This doctor's pricing is clearly for profit and not costumer centered.
