I really love falafel, and Cafe Agora gets it RIGHT! I have now been to Cafe Agora twice, and I got the falafel platter both times. The price is good ($9-something for the platter), the portions are nice, and the falafel is great! (And trust me, I have had some bad falafel. This was the complete opposite!) I also really enjoy their hummus! The texture is amazing. The service and restaurant set up are enjoyable too. I really like the man who is always behind the counter (maybe the owner?). He always seems happy to be there, jokes with his customers, and delivers a great product. The set up of the restaurant is really neat since it has two levels, and it's always clean. I love the outdoor and upstairs dining areas! (Protip: sit at the upstairs window and watch the street below. It's fun!) Another major pro about Cafe Agora is that it is totally MARTA-able! It's about 2 blocks from the Midtown MARTA station, so while parking in the area is limited, you can get there with no problem by just jumping on the train. I foresee myself going to Cafe Agora a lot and continuing to spread the Cafe Agora "gospel," especially as it relates to their excellent falafel. read more

Thanks for lunch, mom! She made the recommendation to come here and I gladly followed. We walked from 11th Street and it was one of those beautiful Spring days in Atlanta. I was a little surprised at how busy it was, but we came almost right at noon and it's in a very walkable area. Yes, it was just another gyro, except that I was craving it a week later (actually, a day later and it took me a week to come back). I like that the prices include tax. Not that it's that difficult to figure out 8.9%, but it's super easy to figure out what your co-worker owes you if you pick up their food while you're out. I've had the gyro with a salad and with fries. Both are a great option and it just depends on how fat you want to feel later. The wrap is so big that when I took it to-go I ate half of it for lunch and the other half later in the day. My grandmother would be proud. read more

I force my family to take me here the second I get to Atlanta. The main guy, Bayrem, is perfect in every way, making sure we have everything we could possibly want. And the food. Amazing. The best gyro meat in the world, and the smokey flavor to the hummus is phenomenal. A side of fries is necessary, they are perfectly crispy on the outside, while pillowly soft on the inside. Not impressed. The gyro wasn't bad but it was nothing special and had only meat, onions and a ton of lettuce in it. The tzatziki was tasty. The side Greek salad had wilted lettuce and almost nothing on it, no feta, no olives and only a sliver of tomato. It was loaded with onions. read more

The hostess, Evelyn, greeted us and welcomed us to Kyma by giving us both a flute of pink champagne celebrating their 24th year anniversary. This was definitely a first for us. We were then escorted to a booth which was set up for just two people and it was very comfortable and roomy. Our server Melina, who is from Greek ancestry, greeted us and showed us the menus. We told her it was our first time at Kyma and would need some help with deciding what to get from the extensive choices offered. She said she would be happy to help us and wanted to know if we'd like to start with a cocktail. I opted to try their "Dirty Greek martini" which came with feta stuffed green olives, and my husband decided on an Old Fashioned. We also ordered a bottle of Sparkling Water which she brought with a plate of fresh limes. Her first suggestion was a "Spread Pikilia which consisted of four different hummus's accompanied by warm pita bread cut in triangles which was a great way to rev up the taste buds. Next, at her suggestion, we ordered a lamb pie which has quite a story behind it. Chef Pano Karatassos beat Chef Bobby Flay on Beat Bobby Flay using his signature lamb pie recipe. It's was so delicous we could see why it won the bake off. For the next course, I had the Fasolatha (navy bean soup) which was superb and my husband had Lavraki that came with the most incredible crackers. When combined with the lightly seasoned ceviche, it dissolved in your mouth for a unique taste. Before our main course Melina suggested a Greek tomato salad and a watermelon sorbet combination to cleanse our palette for the main course. Again, her suggestions were amazingly delicous. By the way, the courses were brought out by servers dressed in white, which looked like they were chef's and was a nice touch. We both had the same main entree which was lamb chops that had been marinating for 3 days and were so tender they melted in your mouth. It came with Greek fries seasoned with cayenne pepper, but we really wanted to try the lemon fingerling potatoes and asked if we could have those instead, and she said, "Of Course". The service was super impressive and the food exceptional, but without Melinda's help we would have been flying blind through all the options because we were not very familiar with high end Greek cuisine. Instead, with her guidance, we had a wonderful dining experience and enjoyed some unique tastes and flavors. We were very full by the end of dinner, but we still wanted to try some of their baklava, so she suggested we get it to go, which we did, and it made for a very tasty late night dessert. Before we left we asked Melinda to please have the Manager come over to our table so we could tell her how wonderful our service and food had been. They don't come with the burger but were definitely worth getting on the side. It was a little on the pricey side at about $35-40 more than our typical date night spend for less food, but it was good overall. I just noticed this place in the neighborhood, and boy am I glad I found it. My boyfriend just started coming here and he told me to check it out and write about just like he did. The food is amazingly fresh, and its clear that it prepared everyday. The people in the front are so nice and enthusiastic, so if its your first time they'll give a little sample of a few things. As fare as the prices go there are a few things that are more expensive like the Agora MIx Grill ($17.) I decided to give this Mix Grill a chance and boy was I glad I did because it was totally worth the 17 dollars. It had beef,lamb and chiken with rice, pita and salad. I usually don't spend that much on one meal, because I feel like most of the time I don't get my moneys worth. Not the case at cafeagora the rice-pudding is also to die for as well as the lady fingers. All in all I personally will be a regular at cafeagora midtown and cant wait for their new place in Buckhead to open up. read more

Wow, what a fantastic restaurant in Midtown! The place is just gorgeous from the moment you step inside. Now, onto the main attraction: the food! It was absolutely delightful, and I was blown away. For starters, the mez platter was refreshing and perfectly paired with the naan bread. The Shakshuka and carrot salad were outstanding. The grilled octopus was incredibly tender, with a subtle smoky flavor from the grill. I could have easily eaten three of these myself--they were that good! AGORA MIXED GRILL offers a variety of grilled meats that are so tender and juicy, served over a bed of rice. My absolute favorite was the adana kebab. One of the best food experiences in my life! I prefer to eat simple, rich and good food. The food in this café suits to these preferences. Portions are super big, so you spend an average some of money and get everything that you need. I feel here like home, because food is amazing, seems like your mom prepared this for you. Waiters are friendly and attentive, can help you with your order and give a good advice. Mezza platter is a very good appetizer, and their also prepare beef or lamb very good. I've had a very pleasant experience with this quaint little cafe in midtown. The young gentleman taking my order at the counter was very polite and helpful. I don't have much experience with mediterrenean food so I didn't know what to get. But everything was delicious. If you're like me and want to try mediterranean I would highly recommend going to this place. Definitely get some of their appetizers (maza plate? :) and try their lamb sihs kabop. I love it here. We can always depend on Cafe Agora for tasty food that's adorable and super quick and easy to pick up. We're within walking distance, but if you're driving there is street parking and a couple parking decks just a block over. We usually get lamb and chicken gyros, and they're superb. I love getting a side Greek salad and we also usually order their fries which are so yummy. Definitely recommend! read more

Definitely one of the best Greek restaurants around. Nicest and most hospitable staff you can find. You would be a dummy if you don't drop by for a quick meal once in awhile at this great location. If you're nice they will give you a free mini rice pudding to try. Actually, as I think about it, maybe that's if you have to wait too long, either way you should try the rice pudding. read more

Best Greek food in ATL. If you're a carnivore you have to try the mixed grill. If you like sweets you have to try their baklava.

I love a waiter who explains the menu so you know what you're getting into beforehand. The beef inside the sandwich had a sauce over it that was pretty good and savory. Now I just want to say that it did have a sauce that came with it but I don't know if it was for my sandwich. But whatever sauce that was was pretty darn good. It fit on the fries and helped the sandwich along as well. I would get the sandwich again but there are a couple of other ones there that I would try first. The French fries are really good. They came with a sack of fries and they were very well seasoned and super crispy.
