This venue is in a very small strip mall. I would not have noticed it if I did not have it in the GPS. They have a private parking lot with plenty of parking. The inside is uncomfortably hot. My plan was to eat inside but the heat made me choose take-out. Also, the cashier explained that they had lunch specials but the lunch specials were significantly smaller than the regular meals. I went with the regular meals. I went with the Beef and lamb Shwarm. It looks like striped meat over yellow rice. The sauce is amazing. The hummus is good. Plenty of food. The salad was top tier. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It's close to me, but if it wasn't I don't know if I'd visit. The service has always been really great, and the owner is genuinely nice and always ready for a pleasant conversation. But sometimes the food comes out... average at best? I really only come here when I have the taste for mediterranean fare but don't feel like cooking it since it's so nearby. There are some things they do well. I like their baba ganoush, hummus, and beet salad. But other things are a bit lackluster and the meats can be a hit or miss. Sometimes it's dry, other times it's succulent. The pita is toasted, but you can surely tell it isn't made fresh. My husband is obsessed with wings and even he said the wings served here are a BIG no. Also cannot recommend the fries, as they've been notoriously dry and cold. Perhaps we should not have expected good wings given that it's primarily mediterranean fare lol. The parking situation is also abysmal. They share a really small lot and the individual spots are poorly marked. This place is off of Briarcliff and the traffic is notorious for being bad, so that makes coming and going that much harder in a lot that's already a little treacherous. When the parking lot is full, it is like playing 2-ton Tetris. I'll also note that the hours can sometimes be a suggestion, and they unexpectedly close earlier than indicated (but will leave a handwritten note). This place seems to be a local favorite. The prices are nice. I just wish it was more reliable with taste and quality. read more

This is my go to restaurant for Mediterranean food. Love the proximity to my house, quick service and great food. I've done more takeout here than dining in but the food is delicious nonetheless. I've eaten the plates, which come with a generous portion of rice, meat of your choice, hummus, pita and salad. The sandwiches are plentiful too - I usually get them for lunch and come with a side of fries (which my kid usually gobbles down). I can't say anything is bad here though I tend to get the mixed shawarma plates/sandwiches more often. Also - get their hot sauce. It goes so well with the food. Perfect if you like some heat. And don't forget their baklava. It's a perfect end to a hearty and delicious meal. read more

I do taste a difference between middle eastern food so I always ask, this is owned by a Palestinian and the food was as good as palastanian food is concerned. The beef shwarma is not as citrusy as Lebanese shwarma but very good flavor of warm spices. We also ordered falafel. These were very crispy on the outside and soft inside. I did not like the tahini sauce it came with. It had almost like a spoiled taste to it. It lacked the toasted sesame flavor. The portions are as every review I read said they were and for a good price. The hummus we ordered was silky and a good citrus flavor not too garlicky. We ran out of pita and the server was so nice to bring us another pita. This restaurant is a small store front but has beautifully painted murals that evoke a sense of peace. If I could give no stars I would I came in to pick up an order for uber. Stood at the counter for ten minutes without acknowledgment from the staff working in the back. I saw one of the workers tasting the food with his bare fingers. When someone finally acknowledged me I asked if anyone was working in the front. I informed the worker who I was picking up for. In a nasty tone the worker replied " It's not ready yet and won't be for 20 minutes!!". I said ok thank you I was walking out the worker used profanity towards me and told me to get out the restaurant. I asked the worker who was he talking to and he continued to argue with me and use profanity. The workers at this establishment are rude, unprofessional, and racist DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

I love shawarma's and I cannot lie! I was introduced to this restaurant in 2016 at a wedding. I had to find out who catered the dinner and I was told it was Ameer's. I searched quickly where they were located and once I found them, I have been addicted. The good news, it is legal and I don't have to worry about going to counseling. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty! I love their Tabouli salad so I always get a large portion as a side. (Small will not cut it) The falafels are crispy and flavorful and that is no lie! As my main course, I had the lamb/chicken shawarma platter and no need to ask if there were left overs because there were not. My friend had the lamb shank and he basically ate the bone. My husband and I travel from ATL to Ringgold to visit family for all big holidays. Chatsworth, GA is about halfway for us. Twice, thanks to great Yelp! reviews, we have stopped at Ameer's Mediterranean Grill. I made a review of our first meal there previously. The latest time we had the chicken kabobs and a beef/lamb shawarma. Both were delicious. The service was pleasant and friendly. On the way out, I ordered the hummus (it is so fresh and so much better than grocery store hummus) and an order of the Lebanese salad. I paid for extra gyro bread to accompany the two appetizers. If you haven't tried the spice "Sumac," please do. I had some from Your DeKalb Farmer's Market and added it to both as we continued to enjoy the appetizers. We were the only diners in the restaurant at the time (around 1:30 pm on a Saturday). We enjoyed the hummus and Lebanese salad for several days afterward. I highly recommend this restaurant. Ameer's resides in a nondescript, small shopping center near the perpetually busy Briarcliff/La Vista intersection. When the mood for Middle Eastern struck, I ordered lunch from this small restaurant and my order was ready in 10 minutes. I opted for the combo #1 which, at around $20, consisted of both chicken and beef/lamb shawarma over rice, two falafels, a piece of pita, a scoop of hummus, and a side of Arabic salad. The quantity was decent and may have been enough for two smaller appetites, but I was starving and ate the whole thing. The lemony, bright hummus possessed a creamy, smooth texture free of grit and addictive scooped on to the soft, ostensibly homemade pita. The rendition of the chickpea dip here ranks among the best I've tasted in the area and was on par to what my wife and I have had in the Middle East. I also appreciated the freshly fried falafel fritters studded with herbs, which struck the ideal balance of crispy and fluffy. The side Arabic salad, though slightly soggy, offered punchy flavors of lemon and parsley which added a welcome, fresh component to the meal. The meat elements of my platter surprisingly fell short relative to their plant-based companions. I appreciate Ameer's offering of real beef/lamb shawarma rather than the processed ground meat loaf available elsewhere, and the balanced, warm spicing of the meat was excellent. With that being said, the shreds of red meat ate a little dry and chewy. The opposite criticism applies to the chicken shawarma in that the juicy, tender poultry lacked seasoning. Both shawarma varieties benefitted from a dousing of both tahini and hot sauces which complemented the flavors. While $20 is a little steep, the quality of the food and quantity made for a fair value overall. Ameer's thus acts as a great option in the area to satisfy your Middle Eastern fix. So, I've been here thrice in two weeks already. This place is everything. It looks unassuming and maybe a little run down from outside. Upon entering, there are 2 beautiful mural paintings on the walls and a nice playlist going- a few scattered booths and tables. The same nice cashier has greeted me all 3 times. So far my favorite is the falafel sandwich. Like... the best falafel sandwich I've had? It has a crispy exterior and a soft flavorful interior that is, praise god, not dry. The falafel rests in a pillowy pita that tastes like it could be made fresh (but I don't think it is?) and is layered among fresh cucumber AND pickles AND a red cabbage pickle. And wait, there's more-- yogurt sauce AND hummus!! It comes with a side of crispy, seasoned fries. The kebab is also delightful, and I do enjoy the baklava for dessert. They have fountain soft drinks, canned and bottled drinks- imported sodas/juices. No alcohol- I saw free Qurans stacked at the entry so that makes sense. I have dined in and has takeout. One thing that makes me come back here is the top-notch food! No matter what I have eaten it has always been freshly made, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. The falafel is crisp and perfectly cooked! The meat is always tender, juicy and flavorful! While clean, the dining area is small, lack luster and could definitely use some updating. There isn't much room to safely practice social distancing while dining in at this restaurant in my opinion. Nonetheless, the food more than makes up for any shortcomings this local join may have. Let's be honest, I stuffed my face here. Might have lost my dignity while doing it, too. An old friend reached out, who I had not seen since before the pandemic. We used to work together, and there was a lot to catch up on. When he suggested Ameer's, I was crestfallen with embarassment because it's just far enough from work that I had never put it into the rotation. My loss, until today. The resturant is located at the northwest corner of Briarcliff and Lavista, across the street from the Aqua Tots swim center. The storefont is unasumming, the dining room very clean and quiet for being so close to a busy traffic artery. Anyway, they have some nice lunch specials. My friend bought me a "Combo 2" platter (pictured), which contained Beef/Lamb Shawarma, Chicken Kabob, Rice, Hummus, Falafel, & Lebanese Salad. He didn't have to do that, but I'll owe him a favor next time. I piled it all on some nice pita and went to town. The meats were really quite nice and well-seasoned; there was no overcooking or dryness. The salad was great too, with the coolness of the cucumbers and tomatoes. Don't get me started on the falafel. It was indeed crispy, hot and super flavorful. I was impressed by the honest portion size and psychological completeness of this combo dish - it really was a satisfying meal in a world where some Mediterranean spots will slap a puny kabob on rice and act like they've done you a favor. So I stumbled upon this place because my roommate told me about. I'll speak on what I know. So reaching it is pretty easy but there is not much parking in its location, but across the street has ample parking. This places seems like a mom and pop store so the decor is pretty traditional. I usually order the lamb shawarma and it's honestly a lot of food. It comes in this bread that has a pocket and the meat is usually overflowing. The tzatziki sauce is light and flavorful but also enough to cover the entire dish. The size of the meat is usually in big chunks to the point that the pocket sometimes can't contain all of it. I don't know about others but this is fine with me. I'd rather have more than less. In the end I usually have to finish the dish with a fork and I'm stuffed. The food also comes out pretty quickly and the staff are kind. I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch if you're ever want something new but filling. This used to be my place!!! I would order weekly!! There has been construction on Briarcliff and it must have taken a huge impact. I picked up 2 falafel sandwiches to go on Monday and when I got in the restaurant, the smell of old oil was strong but I disregarded as I've ordered from uber eats many times. The gentleman at the counter had the order prepared and bag tied as he looked on his phone. When I gave him my name he did a hand gesture and I grabbed the bag. When I got home to devour my falafel sandwich, I stopped halfway through. I sat for a moment and it was evident it was coming back up. The only bad experience I've ever had here after 7 completed purchases. Not sure what happened but it's too early to say whether I'd try again. The city or county really needs to compensate businesses when they decide to have construction on these roads as it really hurts the businesses. read more

Good food can be hard to come by, but want to know what's extremely hard to come by? Excellent hospitality AND excellent food. We come from PTC for my daughters swim lessons, and just decided to pop in here for a quick bite to eat before heading home. I should've gotten the man's name, but our server was SO wonderful. I felt like I was a guest in his home. He was attentive, patient, and made sure we felt welcome. I had the lamb beef and chicken combo, and my husband had the double chicken combo.
