Food was tasty, but service was kind of off and my take out order was slightly messed up. Due to construction on the street there is really no seating for this spot, so we got takeout. I have family that lives across the street from this place and she was craving Mediterranean so we tried this spot. I ordered the mezze plate - I wanted the small but was charged for the large and was not given pita even when I asked if pita was included (cuz I was gonna order some just in case it wasn't). I was told that 2 pita was included for the mezze plate but they totally forgot when I opened my takeout package at home. My sister ordered the gyro plate and was given one pita. The mezze platter was tasty, I will give them that but not having a pita to dip in is kind of not fun. The food came out super fast, but maybe so fast that they messed up the order? How do you forget to give pita at a Mediterranean place, especially if it's a mezze plate? My sister did enjoy her gyro platter. You will absolutely not walk out hungry. The midtown location is my FIRST choice when I want Mediterranean. All of the gyros are filled generously, you can't go wrong w any of the meat options - not exaggerating, all that matters is how heavy of a meal you want. Please please try the DOLMAS they are bursting with flavor. And they give a hefty serving of tzatziki alongside the dolmades and on top of the gyros. My one personal advice is ask for light lettuce on the gyros; it's crunchy and refreshing but I find too much can be messy and some bites too lettucy, ha. They have a $10.99 lunch special including: a gyro, Greek fries (to die for) and a drink. From 11-1 pm. Top off with the RICE PUDDING. The stairs are out of the question now so I have to settle for takeout. I used Uber Eats, delivery was on time and everything was warm and fresh. The pita was so hot but wrapped in foil that I wasn't sure what it was. I had the Mixed Grill with Rice and a small Greek salad and the Maza Platter. My favorite thing over other Mediterranean restaurants in ATL the salad with your meal. Always fresh. It's a shame they don't have a downstairs dining area. read more

This place is all about the owner! He is a charmer. Friendly and caring, everyone is his brother or friend! People are clearly drawn to him. Who wouldn't be? He makes you feel like you belong! The food is excellent. The quality is great and the quantity is generous. We shared a plate and were so glad we did! The Baba Ganoush is lovely, the pita is fresh and the chicken had an excellent sauce that gave it a pizzaz. Cafe Agora does a hopping business. There's not much space inside but there are tables outside. I saw a lot of take away orders. Found this little gem on here and was impressed by the ratings. Now I know why. *First, if you won't read the entire review, note that they do have parking in the lot across the street for free. No need to feed the meters!* I am usually not a fan of gyros but this place made me a believer. I got the gyros platter (comes with lamb and chicken), an order of falafel. And my friend got the gyros wrap. Oh man, was it delicious and ALOT of food. The lamb and chicken were super well seasoned and were packed with flavors. Served on a bed of rice with a salad and pita bread...delicious. The meat was tender and a pleasure to eat. I also got a side order of falafel and those were delicious as well. Nice and crispy, the flavors packed inside of those little balls will satisfy anyone. The owner seems to have a certain rapport with his customers and received us well. Great lunch choice! This location is only a block from my office, so it gives me an excuse to swing by and grab something tasty. I usually order their lunch combo (choice of sandwich, fries or salad, and drink for only $10!) and I always feel I'm getting my money's worth. They have awesome gyros that are loaded with tons of meat and they come out fresh and hot. Their fries are also very, very good. Another plus of this place: very friendly and outstanding service. Lamb / Beef gyro, regular size (not large). Quite good. Soft, moist pita, plenty of meat and fresh, crisp lettuce and onion. No tomato and it was missed but was not listed on the ingredients. Tzatziki was flavorful. The best? No, but really good. Would definitely order again. The Spanakopita...a doughy, almost flavorless disappointment. Good size, but couldn't eat more than a bite or two. How does phyllo get that doughy and undercooked....other than being undercooked. A shame, I was looking forward to it as it's my favorite at other Greek restaurants. Skip this one. Baklava...very good. Thought I was done with that review? Nope. $5.35 for (2 pieces) that totaled in size of 1 1/2" x 2 1/2". Trust me, I measured. Now...the issue at hand. How was the Baklava crispy, crunchy phyllo and the Spanakopita was as wet as a lasagna noodle? Greek salad, minimal feta, even more minimal dressing. Tomatoes that had a bit of a snap as they weren't ripe. As we are all living with produce availability I will not judge the tomato issue harshly. There needs to be more feta and dressing on the side...when the order requested dressing on the side. And I ate all of this in a hotel room, with no utensils even though I requested them. Happy to give great reviews, hate giving less that stellar reviews. This place is close, close to being good. They just aren't there yet. You have other options for Greek food. It sits in between Savi Provisions and a Delta Credit Union location. Regarding parking, I suggest finding a spot on Peachtree Place NE. Download the Parkmobile app before getting there. II. FOOD & DRINK: Like many other Mediterranean joints, Cafe Agora offers rice plates, sandwiches, salads, and desserts, and various vegetable appetizers. The food, honestly, does not set itself apart from others, but I do think they can satisfy a fix. What I've had: *Fried Eggplant: Like the name says, this appetizer comes with fried eggplant as well as green peppers, tomato sauce, and garlic. It's basically a Mediterranean stirfry with a lot of flavors. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but if you love eggplant then give it a try for yourself. *Lamb & Beef Gyro: Call me basic, but I love this beef and lamb beauty wrapped in a pita bread. Cafe Agora is one of those types of local places I like to hit up frequently for quick healthy and tasty bite to eat. A nice quaint little place just off Peachtree with authentic flavors. While the offerings don't quite bring the biggest pizazz, they pack solid flavors, into a healthy serving size at very reasonable prices. Overall I find myself here every couple of weeks picking up the vegetarian Falafel platter! The staff is genuine, kind and always quick with a smile. Service: The person taking my order (maybe the owner that everyone speaks of) was on a cordless phone and talking through his AirPods all while trying to rush me to order. After I ordered, he asked me if I wanted my food warmed up which should have been a sign that maybe this wouldn't be as great as fellow Yelpers made it seem. Who goes to a restaurant and pays for food out of the refrigerator? Not I! On top of all of that, people who ordered well after me were receiving there orders before mine. Food: The spanakopita was cold. The chicken gyro was good but had at least three bags of lettuce on it. The greek salad was delicious. The hummus was plentiful and pretty tasty. I came here yesterday and dined in, with a friend, and was served on a cheap styrofoam package (which is not healthy by the way). The chicken pieces were not cut properly. Tons of freshly grilled marinated chicken, chopped cabbage/lettuce and tzatziki sauce on a very fresh pita. Be aware that the gyros do come with a ton of sliced red onion on it, and they are hard to pick off without taking apart the whole sandwich...not that I would know. The only downside to me was that the chicken was a little more greasy than I am accustomed to gyros and the place gives you those ridiculous paper thin napkins that you need 1 million of (especially with this sandwich, it's a mess!!) There aren't many spots in Midtown where you can grab a quick, relatively inexpensive, and flavorful bite to eat. Cafe Agora keeps many of the questionably charming quirks of the Buckhead location -loquacious staff, inconsistent pricing, in particular- but also the flavorful Mediterranean/Greek favorites. The gyro salad topped with lamb and the appetizer combo plate are my two go menu items. The salad will set you back around $10. I say "around" because the lunch and dinner menus have different prices and the time of day you go doesn't determine what price you'll pay. Regardless of price, the salad is quite large. While it's light on the cheese and olives (aka the good stuff), it does have a ton of lamb gyro meat on top if it- much more than you'd probably get in a typical gyro sandwich. The appetizer/mezze platter is filled with samples of little salads, hummus and fried falafel balls . Yes, it's technically an appetizer, but it's great for an entree too. Parking is limited to street parking or a couple of spots in the Delta Credit Union lot. It looks like a carryout only place when you walk in, but there's a good bit of seating upstairs where you can wait after you order and pay for your food at the counter. read more

The chicken was so tender and juicy unlike the normal chicken I see in salads, the dressing was wonderful, and the pita was so soft and pillowy! I was in need of coffee, wifi, and an outlet to recharge my phone. I had been turned away by a hipster dinner a block away which had not a single outlet for customers and whose wifi was down. I found a parking space right in front of Cafe Agora walked in and discovered an establishment that was as welcoming as the diner had been off-putting. The gentleman at the counter said if asked if Turkish coffee would do. YOU BET!!! The electrons were free and the wifi was great. As was leaving I asked the fellow behind the counter if he was one of the owner. No, just an employee. I hope the folks I work with are as helpful as he was. I didn't catch his name but he was the argument in favor of increased immigration. We need more people like him. read more

Been there couple of times for lunch. Since the first visit this has been one of my favorite places for lunch. I never had any problem with parking in front of the restaurant. Though during launch hours they provide free valet parking. They have patio as well as indoor seating. Interior is very spacious and colorful. I have tried their falafel platter, chicken shawarma platter and agora mix grill. My favorite is agora mix grill. It consists of chicken and lamb sis kabob, adana kabob, kofta kabob and lamb gyros. All the cuts of the meats were delicious. All the enters are served with side of pita bread with spicy sauce, rice and side salad. Breads tasty heavenly with the spicy sauce. All of their entrees have BIG portions. So perfect if you have huge appetite. I have also tried their tiramisu, which is pretty good too. Food wise I would rate this place 4 out of 5. But during one of my visits I forgot my credit card there and I did not realize that for 2 days. After two days when I went there, they still had kept my card safely. So for that they deserve one bonus point from me. Looking forward to many more future visits. read more

Chicken was definitely better than the gyro just because my gyro was over done and greasy. Also there wasn't any feta or veggies on the sandwiches, just chopped lettuce. At Agora, you order at the counter and they have two floors of dining. It's not fancy or modern. I came here for dinner. For the price, I'd rather go somewhere else for dinner. I ordered my go to, iskender kebab. It was greasier than what I'm used to but still tasty. Mine did not come with a salad or any pickled cabbage or veggies, which is unusual from the other times I've ordered this dish at other restaurants.
