May daughter is 12 and the majority of the campers were very young. 2. there were too many kids for the location and parts were given by volunteer, is how I was told AFTER the fact. 3. They charge $7/person to attend at 20 min performance and $20 for a DVD which I feel is absolutely ridiculous. 4. no refunds, or even partial refunds will be given. They will allow you to transfer to a different week, however, if we have no intention of returning, what good is that? I asked to please pay it forward to a family in need, doubt that will happen. I would recommend it to those not too serious about theater camp, a "just for fun" type of camp.

Our daughter loves to sing at home all the time. So I thought we'd see if she actually wants to do…read moreit for others! We started her at 6 years old in their 'Mini' program for younger kids. She absolutely loves it, and the enrichment and growth we've seen in her confidence is just wonderful. I cannot say enough about the owners and staff. They are warm people who clearly enjoy what they do, and put their heart and souls into the kids. Now, 4 years later, at the age of 10, our daughter has been in numerous BTP shows, Annie, Matilda, Shrek, and other performances in front of numerous audiences. It's given her the confidence to be in her school talent shows and get kudos from many of her teachers and classmates on her performances. Beyond the classes she takes with BTP, the value of working on these productions with a team of people to create something bigger than themselves is a lesson in life. The ability to stand in front of an audience with confidence will serve her for many years to come. There are no words to express how grateful I am seeing her on that stage singing and dancing and HAPPY. Born to Perform ROCKS. :-)

Some people park the car at the Clam Jumper plaza (FREE) and walk up to the theater. The building is well maintained & very clean. Next month, they are doing renovation in the lobby, it is going to look even better when it is completed. 3 windows at the Box Office. It takes me about 10 minutes to get my tickets from the Will Call windows. The theater is not too small. Sound system is excellent! The ushers are super friendly. The Legally Blonde musical is phenomenal~ All the performers are very talented with great voice. The music is very cheerful. The story is very funny. What a great show~ The story is very inspiring for the children!! It is a perfect show for the family.

A pleasant surprise was the complimentary tickets... LOVE being on the yelp Elite squad! Just for clarification, the Cabrillo Music Theatre is the musical production company that performs at the Fred Kavli Theatre of Performing Arts, at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Easy parking access. We arrived at 7:40pm with a daunting line at the will call/ ticket booth, but the line moved quickly and we were still able to hit the restrooms before settling down in our seats to enjoy the show. The Kavli Theatre is a modern structure that is even more beautiful @ night. Staff is friendly and VERY helpful. Auditorium is a good size, seating about 1800 people. Well spaced, as it wasn't difficult to pass through the rows. I didn't kick or knock knees with anyone to get to our seats. We sat in the orchestra section, Row P, and could easily see all the facial expressions of the performers. Not stuffy at all in the large hall during the performance and never heard a glitch in the sound system. Most men were casually dressed, as it was rare to see a suit & tie (I was out of place sportin' the bow tie), but lots of ladies looking elegant in their dresses and heels. As far as the show, Legally Blonde, the Musical, was SO ENTERTAINING! This movie adaptation was FUNNY, with captivating voices & performances, and the music was engaging. I enjoyed the movie, and this musical production stayed true to the film, yet, enhanced the story of Elle Woods... brought it to another level! OH MY GOSH! Bravo Cabrillo Music Theatre... BRAVO! The first performance I saw highlighted the music within several of my favorite movies and after that I was hooked. I attended two additional performances this season and can't wait for the season to begin again in the fall. There isn't a bad seat in the house; even the upper balconies offer great views of the musicians as they play. If you've never been to a symphony concert, or are an avid fan of classical music, the New West is a must!

California Lutheran University provides facilities for their students. Some of their venues also…read morewelcome members of the public for various events. Samuelson Chapel is one of those facilities. Located off Olsen Road via Campus Drive / Chapel Lane, the building sports a contemporary interpretation of a worship space. An impressive freeform wall of blue-hued stained glass sets off the north/northwest façade. The chapel also features a large pipe organ on another part of the main stage area. I'd expect that the facility is mostly used for worship services for the campus. It's also participating as a venue for the Candlelight Concert series presented by Fever Entertainment. Dear Hubby and I, along with a group of dear friends, attended a Tribute to Taylor Swift last night with the candle glow illuminating the interior space. A magical feeling was in the air, with the candlelight balanced by the fading of twilight outside. Once the concert began, the excellent acoustics of the chapel took over. Though we didn't get to hear the mighty organ for this particular performance, I would imagine that it's magnificent in this space. Seating is on upholstered pew benches on the main floor. There's also balcony seating; not sure whether that's individual chairs or more pews, as we were in Section B downstairs for the concert. The main reason to deduct one star is that parking is quite limited. Especially for an event that brings the community to the campus, it was woefully lacking. It may be adequate for students who live on or near the campus if they can walk to the chapel. For others who aren't neighbors, and might not think of carpooling or taking Uber/Lyft, it didn't work out so well. One of our pals, who has a handicap placard, had to hoof it quite a ways, which wasn't ideal for her situation. The few handicap spaces close to the chapel were long gone when she arrived. Overall, our group really enjoyed the event at this facility. I'll try to keep an eye out for an opportunity when someone may be playing the pipe organ.

The chapel accommodated over 400 guests and a lovely reception followed nearby on the lawn, under the pepper trees, by the theatre. The recommended caterer was great. It was a perfect way to honor a sweet soul. Thanks CLU for more good memories!
