My wife entered an Instagram contest to win tickets to the Paw Patrol show for the kids. It was a…read morereally nice event. There's no free street parking nearby, so you'll most likely have to pay $16 to park in the lot there. You're not allowed to bring in food or drinks because they sell those items inside, and they also probably don't want you bringing in anything that isn't permitted. They had plenty of staff working the event, from security guards to ushers, helping people find their seats. As for the ambience, the place was well-decorated throughout the inside it was actually really nice. I would definitely recommend it if there's a show you want to see and it's being held at the Civic Arts Plaza. Don't hesitate to buy those tickets just be aware that you'll probably have to pay for parking.

Had so much fun coming here to see the Nurse John Show!!! There is a parking lot but we parked…read moresomewhere else and walked, which I think ended up being good because at the end of the show we saw a long line just to go into the parking lot to leave. I must say, the theatre we were in to see the show was veryyyyy comfortable. The seats are spacious and soft and comfy to sit in. The theatre was smaller than I expected, but still fit so many people. Lighting and sound are great. Bar service is easy too, there were 3 different bars to choose from so we were able to head to the ones with the shortest lines. Drinks are a bit pricey though. Wonderful show, so much fun!!!! For Nurse John No photography until the end of the show when they announce that you can take a few pics.

Attended a Gilbert and Sullivan production here recently, and know there are lots of other classes…read moreand events happening. Loved the production, very professional, and am sure whatever other events are happening will be very professional as well. The Hillcrest Center is part of the Park Districts facility, tucked up on the hill. I had never been there before, and there is construction, and other challenges to getting to the facility, such as the entrance is on a side street, not on Hillcrest itself. But you will be glad you make the trip. Classes there are put on by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, and include classes for young musicians, and the opportunity to also review an art exhibit on premises. Check out http:://www.hillcrestarts.com to see the schedule.

Panic Productions put on a most surprising, amazing show last night ... "13". All of the cast were…read moreteenagers and the energy and talent they exuded was truly remarkable. Sam Herbert as Evan, Carly Shukiar as Patrice and Antonia Vivino as Lucy had exceptional voices and terrific stage presence. Yet, along with these key roles, every single cast member could sing, dance, emote, act, and wow the audience with their talent. What my boyfriend and I continue to say to one another is, "Wow,,, the!se are only kids,,,, young people,,,what will they be like as adults? They can't get much better than this?" If you want an evening of high energy, talent, joy, tears and top-notch entertainment, THIS IS THE SHOW TO GO TO! We went on opening night and loved it so much that we plan on going to see "13" again on closing night! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOW TO ALL!!!

We recently treated our six year old granddaughter to her first live theater experience here for…read morethe performance of "Annie". We hoped that she would enjoy it, and indeed she did. It was so sweet to have her alternate at times from laying her head on Dear Hubby's shoulder and then mine. Sometimes she would sit up tall and lean forward at certain times in the show. After, she said, "I want to stay until the next one", thinking that the cast would be doing a second show right away the same day. She doesn't yet realize how much energy and effort goes into a performance like this, but I loved the positive reaction. The theater, while small scale and local, nonetheless does a great job of putting on entertainment which captivates their audiences. It's a blessing to have this venue close to home, away from the hassles and expense of going into L.A. Ticket prices are reasonable, parking is free, and the staff is friendly. The large cast managed to sing, dance, and act their way through a beloved classic musical on a smallish stage and made it work. Kudos to the visual technology that makes set decoration a new type of visual art. We're looking forward to seeing "Footloose" at the Arts Center soon.

What a great local treasure! We went to see a production of Spamalot ($35/seat). The cast was great…read more- not just great for a community theater but great for the quality of the performance. Every lead was spot on. And the theater itself is a joy. Small enough that there isn't a bad seating the house (we were in the next to last row and had a great view of the stage). Will definitely keep my eye out for their revival stage performances for next season.
