There are also options to order food and have the food delivered if you'd like! There are also ton of food options to choose from. Parking is not an issue, and the bathrooms are always clean as well. This was a totally adequate theater experience although there was major room for improvement. The employees were nice enough and patient with our large group, but seemed a bit scattered and poorly-managed. The theaters themselves feel a bit dated and two girls from our group had trouble with their recliners. Unlike other theaters, these recliners don't go all the way back and instead stop at a sort of 3/4 mark. The aisles are narrow as well. As far as I could tell, there was no seat heating capability. Food is very expensive but I ordered the ultimate chicken nachos, which were fine. The portion size was large and easily could have been shared as an appetizer. The chicken was decent quality but there could have been more cheese. The sides of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole were very small. I like that they have self-serve butter dispensers and the freestyle coca-cola machines. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable treatment by AMC Thousand Oaks Manager TYLER I have been a loyal AMC customer for years, and I have never experienced anything like what happened tonight. My 20 1/2-year-old son brought my 16-year-old son to a movie, unaware of the policy requiring a guest to be 21+ for certain situations. Once he was informed of the policy, my son called me and asked if I could come to the theater, purchase my own ticket, and watch the movie with them so that the policy was followed. I am in my late 40s and was fully prepared to do exactly that. I understand that policies exist, but the way this manager handled the situation was completely unacceptable. When I arrived, Tyler refused to allow us to purchase tickets and repeatedly stated, "Tonight is not your night. Tonight is not your night. Try again tomorrow." Rather than working with us to resolve the situation, he used his position as the manager in a way that felt intimidating and dismissive. His tone and behavior made it clear that he was not interested in hearing what actually happened or finding a reasonable solution. Tyler repeatedly claimed that my son had "snuck back into the theater," when in reality my son had only returned to the lobby to wait for me rather than stand outside alone late at night. Throughout the conversation, Tyler repeatedly restated my own words back to me while adding details, accusations, and statements that I never said or implied. I felt completely powerless trying to have a conversation because he continued to create his own version of events instead of listening to the facts. When I asked for his business card, he refused and told me I was not entitled to one. He also refused to provide the names of the other employees involved and would only provide his first name, which was already displayed on his name tag. A manager's responsibility is to enforce policies while treating customers with professionalism and respect. Tyler's handling of this situation was dismissive, intimidating, and inappropriate. I hope AMC corporate reviews this interaction and provides additional training regarding customer service, communication, and how policies should be enforced. This location is on the older side as far as the hallways go. But the seats have bene upgraded to recliners. I don't know if all of their theaters have gone through this upgrade. You will have a lot of kids/teens that come to this theater and they are kind of disrespectful. The lobby area is on the small side and kind of cramped vs. other AMC's. We only came here due to convenience, but I don't think I will make the effort to come back here as it was on the warm side and they never adjusted the temp inside the screening room. read more

I have been an AMC Premiere member for a long time. We enjoyed this location because: 1. The food was good. We enjoyed the southern chick strips that came with pretzel bites , the burgers and the flat breads (thin crust pizza). 2. The food was delivered to my seat. Now both of those things are gone. We just went to see Project Hail Mary and discovered the menu is now very basic snack bar food ( not so good chicken strips, hot dogs and pizza and they no longer deliver to your seat. This was very disappointing. Sure there are several restaurants nearby, but we enjoyed combining dining with the movie at the theater. I guess now we will need to eat before the movie. Surprisingly I just had my first trip to this AMC this weekend to see Wicked with some friends. I was eager to see this theater and how it stacked up to my local theaters. I'll say in many ways this location is pretty standard but the perks are that they do have nice reclining chairs and alcohol. I definitely appreciate a theater that is with the times! I can't speak to the purchasing as my friend helped buy our tickets but upon walking in I was surprised how quickly we got right through being a larger group. This movie theater is definitely pretty big and as a result it gets crowded here! On a Sunday this place was mobbed. That's pretty much my main reason for docking a star as the lines were longer than I've ever seen for food and drinks. My suggestion is on the weekends to have two bartenders. We got to the theater about 12:10 and didn't make it into the actual movie until about 12:30. That's a long time to be in line for drinks. I will admit we probably cut it a little too close to the showtime but I didn't think it would take so long. Also I learned that the advertised drinks on the posters don't really look like how they give them to you once ordered. One wicked poster showed tall fun glasses with gems on top but thankfully a party ahead of us ordered one and it just looked like a disappointing drink in a plastic cup that did not reflect the picture at all. Lastly, if you want just a single shot of alcohol it's an automatic $16. Never heard of a well liquor shot being so pricy. We skipped and went with beer for a better value. On a positive note the bartender was nice and seemed pretty understanding that we were in a rush and was kind. He poured our drinks pretty quickly and we were on our way. He was friendly so that was a plus. The rest of our experience was really good. Movie theater had the best and most comfortable leather reclining seats. Had the worst experience here because of some internal ticket snafu between AMC and Fandango. Because of it, I was rudely confronted and accused of taking someone else's seat while the movie had already started. I then had to go talk to management about my ticket which resulted in more unnecessary chatter (which led me to miss part of the movie) . I explained that I had confirmed with staff as to my seat location 20 minutes before the movie but the manager just stated that it was Fandango's issue and not theirs and I was re-seated to a less desirable location and again asked about my ticket. One less A-lister...I think I'm one of the last of my friends that enjoy going to a movie at least once a week. I have been an A-lister with a membership for over 5 years. But I have to say, this theatre has gone downhill. The films themselves are enjoyable, but the food options have changed several times and not for the better. First, there was a restaurant upstairs that was beautiful, then it was incorporated to one downstairs with fewer items (but still lots of choices), to now where you can get a hot dog, pretzel, popcorn, chicken tenders or candy. I conceded to only having the pretzels, and now they say they don't even deliver to the seats any longer. I suppose it's a better use of everyone's time to have the employees stand around, chit chat and check their phones, rather than actually provide service to their patrons. So my monthly membership has increased every year, but the experience and service has diminished. Unfortunately I just canceled my AMC membership and will be paying full price going to Cinepolis...where the movie experience is still an event...thank you AMC! read more

The Fall of the Local Theater Industry -Gerritt Beatty So we heard the Avatar Fire & Ash movie was pretty good and decided to go see it. It has been a while since we went to the theater and based on current numbers from theater owners, we are not alone. Attendance nationwide is still down from the high of 1.5 billion in 2003. Yes Streaming and Covid have taken their toll on this industry. However, I would argue that there are other factors. The theaters have been upgrading the theaters with reclining seats and easier ways to buy tickets online. The truth is that while these investments have attributed to some growth over the years, the real reason for lack of attendance boils down to one thing, the Experience. Going out to a movie is all about the experience. That is what theaters should be providing. A good or positive experience left in the mind of the consumer will compel them to return time and time again or not. Theater owners still don't understand this for some reason. Fix this and the numbers will soar back to previous Covid highs. Let me share my experience with our recent trip to AMC in Thousand Oaks. First of all, we had a choice between AMC TO Mall and Regal Janss theaters. Both were showing the Avatar movie. Both had reclining seats, However, the last time we were at Janss, the seats looked awful. Definitely did not pay the money upfront for quality reclining seats. The seats looked like the couch from a fraternity house. This alone determined our choice to go to AMC. Booked the tickets online with AMC. Easy enough process showing what seats were still available. However, $70 for tickets to a movie for three people is a little ludicrous. This is after a senior discount! One good reason to be over 60. I don't know how large families justify investing that kind of money to go to see a movie that will be streaming in the very near future. Did you catch the word I used there? Investing. Everything we do in life is an investment of time and money. Investments must yield results to garner more investment in that concern or activity. If the investment does not yield adequate return, other activities or concerns will be investigated. Is going to the theater to see Avatar going to yield more return than staying home, making your own snacks and watching on the big screen TV? This is the conundrum that the theater owners must address. Based on my experience with AMC, they have not made a strong enough case to opt for the theater. Yes it is all about cost and content. With regards to content, 2025 saw the largest number of movies released to date. In 2025, studious released 194 movies for a total ticket haul of $8,642,180,776. At 764,000 tickets sold, it works out to be an average of $11.31 per ticket, the highest number achieved since records were kept in 1995. That's $44.5 million per movie. Not bad for the studios but they have not all released great movies so the quality of the movie is important to draw potential investors to the venue. This is probably the biggest challenge to the theaters. However, if the movie going experience is over the top, then the consumer will continue to return despite the reviews of the movie. That is why there are more than one screen and movie playing at the theater. Let's talk about where the theater owners really make their money... I get that costs have gone up but cutting costs at the concession stand affects the experience. I got in a HUGE line for the concession stand after we had found our seats. Fortunately, I was a Stubs member so could move to the "Priority" line which was shorter. I am not a fan of this as you are telling your customers that they are not as valuable of a consumer as this other small percentage of consumers who have paid a small fee for the theaters ability to track their phone data. I know there were people in the other line who spent more money than me. I bought three drinks and a popcorn. How much? Over $34!!! Highway robbery!! On top of this, I had to go to a drink machine and fill up the drinks myself. Not a terrible proposition but for a theater where just one screening room holds 191 people and only two drink machines exist, it is not a pleasurable experience. On top of that, you are clawing your way to get lids for the drinks. The staff only provides cups with a straw and butterless popcorn. You have to fill the drink and get your own butter. So why does it take so loooong to go through the concession line? How about more stations on busy days to accommodate the increase in movie goers for a movie like Avatar? Unbelievable.... To cut costs, I can see theater owners putting in machines for candy, popcorn and drinks and get rid of the concession area altogether. There will only be two machines of course and extremely long lines to use them. Stubs members can swipe their phone for access to another room where there are more machines though... read more

This theater is so nice and comfortable they have seat warmers and reclining chairs that are very cozy. The food also is good as well. They sell popcorn as well as slurpies and soda and candy. They also have a very good kids pack that has a candy slurpie and popcorn. You can also butter your popcorn with more liquid butter where you fill up your drinks. My boyfriend and I decided to go watch a movie at this theatre since they had the dining experience. Let me just say it was awesome. The theatre was very clean, service from the time we entered to them delivering the food at the time we requested was great. We bought our tickets online on the drive there, ordered the food at the same time and picked a time for delivery. The food was a little pricey but convenience for me is everything. We ordered chicken tenders and fries and cheeseburger and fries. The food arrived hot and was very good. No complaints. The seats were very comfortable-guys you can even turn on the seat warmers! I love coming to this theater! It has been become my all time favorite! They have reclining seats and even some that have a heater option. You can become park of their member club and go see up to 3 movies per week. They do have long lines but if you are a member you have your own special line. This AMC location is typically very nice. The workers are kind, the place is usually clean, and the food is good. But I unfortunately had a very had experience that I needed to share. I'm here to talk about the worker Joey and Laurie. I went to the theater with some friends to see a movie that we were all looking forward to. Our day was ruined when these two workers gave us rude and disrespectful treatment. When getting our tickets they were dismissive and unhelpful. After a bit of an issue, we got inside to our theater. Where then my friends seat was taken by someone else, my friend and the man in her seat had the same seat number and isle. So we had to find other seats. Overall I'm extremely disappointed with my time here and I wanted to share to let others know so they don't run into the same issues at this theater and with those workers. read more

I typically enjoy this theater for the comfy seating- the chairs aren't too close together, you can recline and they have seat warmers for when it's cold and have the option to choose a single chair or a loveseat which is great! The food is a bit pricey but I expect that at any theater of course so no big deal for an extra fun night. The staff is mostly kind and accommodating, with some outliers here and there. The reason I'm docking 2 stars is because it has been SWELTERING hot in the theater the last 2 times I've been. I'm not talking a little bit warm, I mean I was sitting in there for over 2 hours sweating out of every orifice and pore of my body while in shorts at 9 PM. I almost had to get up and leave because I was so extremely uncomfortable, but I didn't want to waste the money I spent by only staying for a bit of the movie so I stayed and had to wipe the dripping sweat off my face every 2 seconds. I couldn't even focus or enjoy the movie because I was sweating as if I were sitting in front of a heater in 90° weather. It was absolutely horrible and I was so happy to leave when the credits rolled on, I couldn't even sit through the credit scenes because I needed to get out of there. If staff is reading this- theater 11 felt like an inferno if anyone needs to check the HVAC that would be awesome. I love the convenience of this location and AMC theaters in general so it would be sad to have to switch to Regal just because of the temperature. read more

It's time for them to go frankly, aside from not being able to see the bottom half of the screen from our seats because the pony wall is too high in their smaller theatres, it's old, dirty and the seats are all torn... they basically didn't want to do anything to fix our seats, I basically had to tell the manager an apology for this inconvenience while refunding us would have been nice. I also had to go through another employee before I was allowed to speak to a manager. This all took 15 minutes so our movie had now began while hoping for other seats.... We planned our evening around movie night out and frankly I now have another reason to not patronize a theatre amongst there loosing audiences over the last few years. Love that I can book this through Fandango and still get my AMC Stubs points. The $1.89 "convenience charge" is also waived because I'm a Stubs member. Received a prompt about 45 min before showtime to place my order for food to have it delivered to my seat on arrival. Hadn't seen that before. Nothing really grabbed me, so I passed. Parking was easy, as was showing the digital ticket for access. Downside is there is only one bartender. He tries his best, but the line was 10 min to get an alcoholic drink. At least I allowed enough time before the show. I ordered the Old Fashioned Ginger Twist, and upgraded to the Knob Creek. There was too much grenadine, so the drink looked very red. And the two Luxardo Cherries (specifically promoted on their menu) were missing. Tasted good, though a little weak for the $19 price. Theater was clean. Seat was comfortable and in good condition. Terrible experience last night. I will start with the fact that 1 adult ticket and 1 child ticket to a kids movie on a Monday evening cost $48.... We had dinner at lazy dog next door prior to movie time for school fundraiser hit service was slow so they packaged up our food to take with us so we didn't miss our movie. They absolutely refused to let my son and I in with our takeout bag (as I was not going to toss our food we waited and paid for), and the staff was so rude and could clearly care less about customer service. They would rather lose money and future customers than allow someone in with leftover takeout. They clearly also do not support businesses right next door. Like always, we arrived early so we could get our popcorn and snacks on to enjoy during the movie. To my surprise, we were given our popcorn and an empty Icee cup. That's right, the icee machine at this AMC theatre is self-serve meaning you can fill up your own Icee up as many times as you choose during your movie without having to wait in line for god knows how long just to get a refill. After we loaded up on snacks, we made our way to our seats which we pre-selected online when we purchased our tickets. Well, let me tell you Toto! "We are not in Kansas Anymore!!" This AMC has totally upped their seating game and let me tell you, it is luxurious!!! The seats are Huge! They recline to a totally flat position so you can literally lay down and watch your movie. (Just try not to fall asleep). On top of that, the seats are heated all you have to do is press the magic button. Each seat also comes with a cup holder and personal table to set all your eats if you choose, after the movie I didn't want to leave! During the film, the popcorn just wasn't cutting it, so I ran down to the concession stand and ordered a couple of burgers, fries and onion rings, and I was so happy with what came next. I thought I'd have to wait 10-15 minutes while they prepared the food, meanwhile missing part of the movie. Nope!!! After placing my order, the young man behind the counter asked what theatre I was in and what seats we had. He stated that once the food was ready, it would be brought to us!! This was the cherry on the cake! Within about 10 minutes or so, 2 beautiful, delicious burgers, fries and onion rings were delivered to us (at no additional cost) and lunch was officially served! (Literally). With all of these amenities, extra services and high standards set by the AMC theatre in Thousand Oaks, this will be the ONLY place I'm coming to the movies going forward! And the Oscar for' Best Movie theatre in town' goes to.... AMC Thousand Oaks 14!!! read more
