(Don't let the name on the building confuse you, they are now affiliated with True Value but it is still locally owned and operated.) I've been here several times for pieces and parts for various projects, and they have had my parts on hand. They are conveniently located off the 169/92. They have ample parking with easy access. Their staff has been very helpful. On a recent visit, we were in for some items that we ran short of, and, of course they had enough for us to finish. BUT, more importantly, we had an unusual design that we wanted to implement. I wasn't too sure if the right pieces and parts existed to implement our design. Surprisingly their staff got the visual quickly and was helpful in thinking outside of the box for searching for a solution. This rarely happens in the big box stores! It was very refreshing to talk with a staff that actually has worked on projects. We'll be back!

Once I brought an empty tank for my grill down to get refilled. I stopped in the store first to pick up a couple of things and pay for the tank, but a worker had already spotted the tank in the back of my truck and filled it up for me before I even asked - now, that's service! They have a nice lumber yard and a small repair shop for tools. The greenhouse always has a nice supply of flowers and veggies and trees in the spring and summer seasons. There is also a plentiful supply of items that can be rented - from chairs/tents to tillers and other machinery.

The store has a lot of really nice rustic/repurposed home decor and jewelry. The store is packed with many options and is usually quite busy with shoppers looking for the perfect item to take home with them. Sometimes that can make it hard to get around, but it's always nice to see people drawn to the store and community. It has felt like there have been more manufactured or mass-produced items in the store the last few times I've stopped (versus when they first opened). It's also a little high-priced for me. I looked recently and was surprised to see a Christmas pillow priced at nearly $70, and artwork from a local artisan priced nearly 3 times more than I can buy directly from him at shows. Overall, I love the inspiration that the store provides - I always leave with fun ideas of items I might want to create for my own home.

I explained I need to move hay in 7 days. He says it will be done Wednesday. I offered to go to Des Moines to get the part. he said no, they'll bring it to me. It will be done Wednesday. Thursday, I stop by and tell the employee that I need the tractor by Saturday to move hay. I said done or not, I need to get it. Pete is in Des Moines picking up the part right now. I said good, maybe it'll be done before I need it. Pete calls me back, calls me a M'Fer, F'ing prick, says come and get your tractor and hung up. I called back, I can't get a word in, I'm a prick, a f'ing bastard. Employee says I pitched a fit about it not being done, he'll prepare a bill and I come and get the tractor. I replied, That's a good idea. he hung up. I called back. He answered, what the F do you want, F you you prick. I said, you need to listen to me. he screamed more obscenities and hung up. I would not recommend anyone utilize his services. I will admit, when I called him back the 4th time after he cussed me, I cussed him back. It will be an interesting trip to pick up my tractor. DO NOT take anything to him.
