My mum and I went here together for a treat. The spa itself is pretty small but really nice. There is a hot tub in the women's only area with six loungers around it. Then there are lots of loungers and daybeds around the long fountain area. My only thoughts with that area is there isn't much shade so you couldn't eat on the daybed when the sun was overhead but we ended up eating at a small table and it was fine. The staff we're all really friendly and the masseuses that we had were lovely. There isn't anywhere to swim in the actual spa but a short walk away you can access the adult only pool which we found in the afternoon. I wish that staff had indicated that this was here earlier on in the day. I'll definitely come back here. read more

I stayed at The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells 2 nights and as a Globalist, I get to use the Agua Serena Spa for the day. I love that they have this as an Amenity. At check in they say it is in lieu of a lounge. Honestly, I think a lounge would be better. The remodeled spa isn't for the better. The sauna and steam room still break down on and off. They do still provide some snack items. My only complaint is that they took out the gravity chairs in the lounge because it didn't go with their new look. The new chairs are not comfortable but they look good. read more

I booked an online reservation and realized afterward that I used the wrong credit card, so I made a second reservation with the correct card and called to cancel the first one. Kaylin answered, and I explained multiple times that I had an existing reservation with a confirmation number that needed to be canceled. She insisted there was "no reservation" under my name or phone number and claimed I had only created a profile. When I asked if I could just make a reservation over the phone instead, she sighed and asked for how many people. I said two (for my mom and aunt). Later, I received a call from Noel informing me that I somehow had FOUR reservations total: the two online reservations Kaylin claimed did not exist, plus two additional reservations Kaylin herself created. Completely unacceptable and incredibly disorganized. I explained the situation to Noel, and instead of acknowledging the confusion, I was told, "It's fine, it's a mistake on your end." At that point, I honestly should have canceled everything, especially considering we were paying over $520 for this experience. Unfortunately, it only got worse. My mom said Mousses gave a great massage, but during the service she asked her to remove her watch and supposedly placed it with her robe. After the appointment, her watch was missing. We went back in person, and the spa said they didn't have it and told us to contact hotel security/lost and found. Now security claims they don't have it either, even though the watch's location is still showing there. On top of all of this, the sauna was broken and there were no mimosas available. For the amount of money we spent, the entire experience was a complete nightmare from beginning to end. Poor communication, disorganization, missing amenities, and now a missing watch. I'm sorry but i was not happy with my facial, nor was i impressed with my overall experience. My dear friend treated me to a facial for which i got upgrades; the aesthetician was not informative on the prices so by the time it was all over i had to pay an additional couple hundred dollars for a service i found less then satisfactory. It wasn't a relaxing experience. I felt she was rushed and harsh. Mind you, i hadn't had a facial in over 25 years so maybe i expected too much. I did not feel i was greeted warmly or that i was left with a good feeling when i left. To top it all off, i had cash to pay for my upgrades and was told they do not accept cash. I had to drive over 5 miles to my bank and back to pay them for services i was thrilled with! I would not recommend and would not return unless there are some changes. read more

I found this place on Groupon and when I looked at the reviews, I figured why not let me give it a try. I am so glad I had the opportunity to get a massage by Michelle, she was AMAZING. she went above and beyond. It was just great!! My massage was cut short, it was suppose to be 50 minutes but I only was there for about 40 minutes! I also had the pod for 50 minutes. I was hoping there would be some music and even though there was a button for music, that didnt work!!! when I asked the employee afterward about the music, she said oh we dont play music for people to be more relaxed!! I dont think this is a super luxury spa and its too expensive in my opinion. so regularly its about $250 for the massage and pod. you can get it through Groupon. But even if you do get it through Groupon, there is still 20% gratuity from the original price which I think its ridiculous! I was told by their front desk staff that I was going to get a tour of the facility and that also never happened! My friend had purchased the massage and use the facility for the day. She only got the massage and didnt really get to use the facility and they refused to let her come in the next day to be able to use it. Not sure if I will be returning here, if its for the massage then definitely yes! but other than that, no. The lockers, i put the code and when I came back to get my stuff and tried to open it, It wouldnt open There are a lot of things that I disliked here, I dont recommend it to anyone. read more

The masseuse did a wonderful job. Manny maintained the towels etc in the locker room- he was friendly, happy and made my day. Super hard worker and great at his job. Very outdated and damaged but clean. Very overpriced. The check out ruined my massage experience. Watch out because they will charge you 20% gratuity (they put it in the fine print with the waivers and they do not mention it verbally - this should be mentioned). We tipped the masseuse $50 cash on the $200 massage. Then, on the way out the front desk informs us that an additional 20% on the $200 will be added. We informed the front desk that we already tipped the masseuse but they informed us it was "in the fine print". Poor management. We will not be back. read more

I spent most of my time near the lovely fountain area and was even offered a complimentary glass of champagne for my birthday. Sweet! I hear this place is undergoing renovations and will be offering a lazy river for guests which sounds cool. I took off one star because I felt like this establishment didn't disclose what felt like hidden fees to me as a customer. An additional percentage % was added within my bill for gratuity without being disclosed. This place used to be the hidden gem of the valley, but after remodel, I'd suggest skipping it and going to the Mariott. I'm not sure who they got to do their new furniture, but it is bad. Not only is the furniture uncomfortable, it doesn't look good. Not a place you want to be and spend money. You used to be able to sit by the reflection pool and look up at the mountains or move a chair to find the sun or sit next to your spa buddy. The new fixed beds, smell like sweat and face each other. The masseuse I usually go to when I visit Palm Springs was out of town, so my hotel's concierge referred me to Agua Serena Spa. The services were good (on par with other spas I've been to in major cities). I got a 50-minute deep-tissue massage from Jovita (relaxed some of my toughest knots) and a 50-minute signature cactus-and-date scrub from Bill (wonderful technique). Agua Serena's facilities are nice. Indoor and outdoor spaces, comfy seating while you wait, whirlpool, dry sauna, locker room with all of the extras you might need before or after your services (e.g., razors, combs, hair dryers, hair spray), etc. The reason I give it only 4 stars is because the prices are inflated compared to similar-quality services at other places. Also, they add a 20% "service charge" to your bill, which, as a customer, feels like passing the buck. I usually tip 20% for good service, and would've done so for the services I got today. But when the tip is built into my bill, it can't help but feel like "We can't afford to (or don't want to) pay our people more, so we're going to make *you* do it for us." Another poor experience was lunch. Awesome that you can order lunch at the spa. After my services I was feeling relaxed and glowy and was looking forward to wrapping up my visit by having lunch on the patio. The menu has many options--ranging from salads to flatbreads--and lots of alcohol. I ordered a Caesar salad ($15) with grilled shrimp ($6). Because of the price and the fact that I was at a hotel, I expected to receive something of the size, quality, and presentation of what I would receive if I were ordering room service at the hotel. However, what I got was a cardboard takeout box with about 1.5 cups of shredded, browning romaine lettuce; 5 shrimp (no problem with the size, quantity, or quality of these); tiny stale croutons, a to-go cup of dressing, and a smaller to-go cup of cocktail sauce. Lunch is also automatically tipped 20%. So I paid $25 for a salad the size and quality of a Trader Joe's prepackaged salad. Not a great feeling (or filling). read more

Honestly expectations completely exceeded in every way here. I'm used to going to like extremely expensive and fancy spas and not that this isn't but the hotel I think is only a four-star hotel so my expectations of the spa were not like anything that out of this world. The entrance is beautiful and the front desk staff are so sweet. They have an on-site full service concierge that walks you to your locker and takes care of any needs you have. The steam and sauna were absolutely fabulous and the shower has this incredible eucalyptus spray that you can use. I even bought some to take with me. I wish that the women's locker room had a cold plunge but oh well the hot tub was fairly nice. One of the best features was the massage chairs. I never wanted to get out! My husband and I also ordered lunch because we did a spa day together and it was very fast and we got to eat outside together in the beautiful outdoor area. That's coed. I never get Swedish massage because it's not deep enough for me but I have to say the Swedish massage was exceptional. He was just so wonderful and relaxing. The only thing is he was a little bit late picking me up and ended on time, so really my massage was only like 40 minutes which honestly is kind of annoying but whatever my husband loves his facial! Validated parking and could not have been more accommodating. I cannot wait to go back. This is the spot for a couples day at the spa, but even just like I would do the day pass there it's so lovely! I wanted to spoil my mom and I for Mother's Day, I found this place to be one of the most beautiful spas in the desert. The front desk staff was very kind and attentive, they offered us a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate. The only reason I'm rating 3 stars is because I wish our Masseuses would've given us the full 50 mins pricey massage to enjoy instead of rushing and cutting it 30 mins. We were late 10 minutes in but no where on the booking stated that our time would be reduced if that was the case. My point is the timing was significantly reduced for our first time there. We are locals but place is a bit hard to find since the Hyatt hotel is right in front when entering, not sure I like that they also charge for parking per hour. MY 200th REVIEW: Who doesn't love a massage?! Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am a frugal shopper and I absolutely love deals! Whenever I plan a trip somewhere, I always check Groupon, Living Social, Amazon deals, and Travelzoo to see what deals I can snag while on vacation. And my friend, I scored with this Travelzoo deal!: 50 minute Swedish massage with foot and hand scrub and $20 worth of spa bites. Since I was spending the weekend at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort, I took advantage of some much needed R&R. I walked in and was greeted with a warm "hello"! After completing necessary paperwork, I was escorted to a ladies only "retreat" spa area. The spa area, along with the facility as a whole, is immaculate! After changing into my robe, I was given a tour of the spa area: steam room, dry sauna, shower area, showers, pool, relaxation area where I wait for my therapist to take me to the massage room. Ahh, that massage was everything! Right on time! Once the massage was over, I was escorted to the outdoor unisex area where an ice cold glass of infused water (cucumber, grapefruit and mint leaves) awaiting. Oh the ambiance outside- sitting in the deck chairs surround by a small pool with waterfall and listening to the sound of running water was so serene. Welp, my relaxation period didn't last long, as the 105 degree weather was taking its course on my body, and since milk chocolate melts in the heat, it was time for my milk chocolate self to go lol. So I headed back to the female only area to change out of my robe. Included with the Travelzoo deal was $20 worth of spa food. Since my massage was later in the afternoon, the kitchen was closed by the time I got dressed. However, I was told that I could come back the next day to use the voucher, and since I was staying at the resort, that worked out. About that spa food menu: uh, the choices are limited and the items that I ordered wasn't horrible nor was it nouth-watering. It was just ok. The spa is always overcrowded with loud obnoxious, screaming women screaming vulgarities, and when I explained this to the manager because when I was in there, I couldn't even get on anything because they were hogging everything and screaming so loudly I couldn't wait to get out of there. the manager said she just likes to have groups she could've cared less about individuals. And another time. there was a business meeting in there where women were sitting all in the room where the chairs were all over the floor, food and wine all over the place, and being very loud, talking business. The facility was barely adequate, when we were at the Miramonte, we spent the day, lounging and relaxing at the spa. There are waterfalls, grottos, pools and hot tubs, for couples to enjoy. Here, there wasn't really anything but patio chairs next to a reflecting pool or lake, oh and a sauna in the locker room. We went, got treatments, and left, unfufilled. read more

I called on a Saturday for a same-day appointment. The person who booked my treatment was friendly and helpful in discussing the various treatment options. On arrival, I was given a tour of the spa and settled in. I was quite hungry, having arrived at noon after a two hour drive and was pleasantly surprised to see a spa menu (in addition to the complimentary cookies/apples/dried apricots/tea). I requested a cheese plate and glass of wine before going in for my massage. Food and chilled wine were waiting for me when I was all done. I sat outside by the fountains for lunch, then took advantage of the outdoor jacuzzi, indoor steam room and sauna. The lounge was comfortable and close to the tea station. Sara did a wonderful job of my deep tissue massage, periodically asking if the pressure was to my liking. I appreciated this and the overall treatment. Thanks again Sara! My favorite service is the sugar body scrub followed by a deep tissue body massage. The hydraFacial is painless and really brightens your skin. I have a membership here. For the most part, I use the sauna to relax. I have a very high stress job, and being able to fit the sauna in every weekend is great. With a membership, you get to use the gym, steam room, hot tub, fitness classes (I don't use those), and the pool. Membership comes with one "treatment" per month. I asked if I could do a scrub as my monthly but they said those aren't included. So basically a massage or facial per month. Everybody who works there is awesome, but a few have really stood out to me. There is usually one guy (sadly I haven't learned his name yet) who works at the front who is very nice. He always has my form ready as soon as I walk up! (You have to sign a form every time you use the spa). Chelsea in the front is super sweet. She really seems to care a lot about people. Angelica works in the locker area and is ready to help as soon as anybody walks in. And THEN there is Vanessa, the reason I am writing this review. Her massage is fantastic. I've never had a massage therapist, in my life, that I really thought was worth a second try. I walked in on a bad day, almost positively with tears in my eyes. At first, she seemed intimidating. I quickly found out I was overthinking the situation. She is extremely nice. I told her I didn't have a sore back but my legs and arms were tense. I run quite a bit, so my legs are pretty heavy. She seemed to have NO problem with the weight. Maybe she has experience in sports massage?? I'm in love. Anyway, I recommend this place wholeheartedly. The gym is open early for members, which is when I usually roll in. It's never crowded in the mornings and It's all IW residents as far as I can tell. The only thing I would change is that I wish the dry sauna wasn't on a timer. If you have to wait for it to get hot, it kind of sucks. The steam room is always on, so you can wait in there for the sauna to get hot (if you want). read more

I spent a few hours at Agua Serena Spa and left feeling very relaxed. The services I received were a body scrub and a facial. My body scrub was amazing! I loved taking a shower outdoors (privately of course) and going back in the room after for a quick massage. My facial was great as well and very relaxing. I will not confirm nor deny if I started to fall asleep. The facilities were clean and tranquil. I liked that they had both the eucalyptus steam room and dry sauna. I thought that the cool washcloths and cucumbers could have been placed a little closer to them though, I missed that they had them until I was going to the jacuzzi. The facilities have separate men's and women's outdoor showers, jacuzzi, and relaxation area outside. The unisex area does not have a jacuzzi or pool, however, the unisex area has a beautiful view and eating areas. I love that they offer complimentary snacks and coffee. However, I had no clue who to order lunch from and no one asked if I wanted anything else. The locker room could have been a little better. There were no combs stocked. Also, you have to track down the attendant to get a bag for your wet bathing suit. In the locker rooms, they do have blow dryers but should also have straighteners and curling irons to go with the gel, hairspray, etc. they do have a spray deodorant too in the same area....yay. read more

A MUST DO! Yes the Hyatt Regency has Groupons in their off season. I had a Groupon deal for the spa & a Rebate from Ebates. I Called in advance to book an appointment. This is not your cookie cutter Hyatt Regency. This place has an identity and style all its own. I like that. The grounds are beautiful here. So I checked in early and asked about lunch. They told me I could order lunch by the waterfall and they would bring me lunch from the restaurant. I courteously declined and said I'd rather eat lunch @ the outdoor restaurant/cafe where all the action is, by the main pool. They said OK and gave me a Courtesy Pool Card to get into the hotel pool gate. So I checked out the crowded pool area with a DJ and Music and had lunch there. After lunch I went back to the spa which was just the opposite nice and quiet. I walked around the spa it's beautiful inside but especially outside. The waterfall cascading into the pool & the beautiful trees along the serene lake. They have free spa water, coffee tea etc. Just so nice and peaceful and you can collect your thoughts and connect with nature. I had a great message and enjoyed the jacuzzi steam etc. Fantastic! It was time to leave I gave them my parking ticket and they comped the parking for Free. Then they handed me an envelope inside there was a $55 Groupon credit towards any regular priced service of my choice and good for the next 6 months. I'll definitely be back. As in other reviews, my 80 minute massage by John was excellent. My greeting by Angelica was heartfelt and she looked after anyone in the spa. My problem is that I called the spa for an appointment, telling them that I needed a "me" day because it is a hard day in the year for me. Asked if after I could have lunch and chill and yes of course you can. Upon leaving, I went to settle my bill and see "September Specials" on the front desk. I paid $220 for an 80 minute massage (plus the 20% gratuity). They had a Harvest Moon Package w/ other amenities including the 80 minute massage for $199. I've had a bad taste in my mouth since. Someone should have suggested that package to me...yes I do see they have a specials tab on their website, but I didn't use their website when deciding to book my day. BOO on them.
