I told my endocrinologist, Dr. Kander that I would be going away for six months so he was kind enough to tell me that he could call me and tell me my blood work results however that's not what he did. He never called me for my blood work results then I called the office and I explained the situation to the secretary. She trusts me to another extension and the voicemail is full not acceptable at all. I'm suffering with hypothyroidism. I'm fatigue. I'm depressed. I cannot say enough about the care my father received at AHAVA Medical Center, especially from Dr. Jason Hernandez and his team. My dad is 92 and has been living with significant leg and hand pain for years. Unfortunately, many places tend to dismiss patients his age. That was not the case here. Dr. Hernandez took the time to speak directly with my father, really listen, and carefully examine him. Today, they focused on his leg--and he was able to provide immediate relief. It was incredible to see. What stood out most was the respect and attention he gave--not just to the condition, but to my dad as a person. The team was warm, patient, and welcoming from start to finish. We'll be returning to continue his pain management and physical therapy, and to address his hands and neck in future visits. Instead of being written off, my dad was truly cared for--and for the first time in a long time, he has real relief and hope moving forward. As for the facility, I saw the waiting and treatment rooms which were bright and clean. As a daughter, I am deeply grateful. read more

I was seen in the Inwood practice. I didn't like being a patient there. I didn't ever feel "seen". If I was lucky and saw a doctor I still felt as though someone was going through the motions and asking the questions that the algorithm poses, rather than a thoughtful and analytical physician or even PA. Perhaps I'm "old school" but I'd like a practice that doesn't feel like a money mill and sees me as a patient, not a client. Also, the billing department tries very hard to do a decent job, but I have been rebilled for things that I've paid for already. read more

Dr Hernandez has excellent bedside manner. I see him greeting all of his patients and checking in on them throughout their visit in the rooms to make sure they are comfortable. This has been my experience since my first visit here, 2-3 months ago. He cared to explain all of my concerns and things I read regarding my back pain, and provides good relief through elec machines and his caring staff. The MAs wre really sweet here too. i went to the "clinic" that has listed every known dept. to man! all "horrible" from what i could see from this place. it is run like a "chaotic zoo"! the girls at each desk from each dept. don't know what is going on and act like robots repeating what they are taught to say and tell you nothing! i had an appointment with a doctor and waited over two and a half hours and still wasn't seen by this doctor so i picked myself up and left! every time i asked one of the girls at their desk how long the wait would be, they don't know!!!! no one in this place knows what they are doing and there is only one manager that they can't find for you to speak with because they don't know where that person is.............don't ever set foot in this abomination! it should not even exist! i have been to many types of medical clinics and this by far is the worst one i have even been to. they squeeze in as many people as they can to make "money"! go somewhere else where you are valued and respected for your time! not disrespected! read more

Therapeutic environment especially for children with special needs. I went to what was an initial evaluation yesterday but it turned out to be the actual visit. My son even got a chance to go into the therapeutic swimming pool. They provided me a swim diaper and he had a white shirt and extra change of clothes so he was able to go in on his very first visit. The place does seem outdated. It Reminded me of a 90's multi floor pediatric clinic but nonetheless everyone was so pleasant and fun to be around. You have to have patience to work with children who have all types of disabilities. It's a blessing to see how happy every staff member was. Everyone is very welcoming. They didn't and don't seem sketchy to me at all. My son was happy with all the therapist who got a chance to see him yesterday. He was provided Speech, Occupational and Physical therapy along with Aqua therapy. We were up and down the entire facility for a period of 1.5 hours. You can see the excited look on all the children's faces in there. They're all so happy. I was pleased with our visit and they're already calling to schedule us consistently. Treated by Dr Yevgeniy Kantor in Monsey Medical Center, Monsey NY. Am retrired Nurse. Took 5 weeks to address adverse effects levothyroxine highe dose than prior Endocrinologistr reluctantly agreed to rotate with lower dosage. He said redo labs 6 wks. But did not write prescrition nor order labs nor thyroid ultrasound though history of "Cold" nodule (camcer 1994) . Per Nurse he didn't put note in my chart regarding my complaints of difficulty swallowing, neck edema , fast pulse, hyperthyroidism. Dr Kantor schedules 40 patients 6 1/2 hrs each of his 2 days monthly in office. He does not do clinical exam and relies only on results minimal labwork . A Red Flag stay away. The changing rooms are discusting. They do the therapy with young special needs boys with the women and girls and they have 2 pools to separate...themen and boys in one and the women and girls in another. The special needs children drinks the water and spit it back out along with mucus plugs floating in the water other wear diapers that is soiled in the water. It is a Jewish facility. This facility is the epitome of lowbrow. Or put more bluntly, flat out ghetto. In every facet of its operations. If it were not operating under the guise of having to do with "medical" or "healthcare" it would be downright comical. Except it's just too damned sad. It's darn near tragic. Because it is filled with desperately sick people who appear to be on their last legs and can't seem to get any assistance from this facility. Disturbing is the word that keeps coming up. What you can expect: The entire "medical Center" is the size and shape of an old NYC railroad style apartment. The small lobby is packed with sick patients who have no choice but to stand due to limited seating. They constantly bump into each other. The reception staff is crammed into a room the size of a closet. They act as though they are students in a Special Ed department at a high school, constantly bickering and arguing with or insulting each other. With malice. Loudly. You are immediately shocked and taken aback by the candid awkwardness created by this. The doctor that I saw, Dr Adler, has a disposition like that of someone struggling mentally due to taking too much medication. His sentences are incomplete and incoherent. He doesn't look you in the eye when he speaks, but to your left far off into the distance. He stands up and knocks things over onto the floor -- such as boxes of medicines or syringes or other surgical tools. It is unprofessional and downright disturbing. He prescribed the wrong medication for me the first time -- by not advising me that it also increased adrenaline in the body as a side effect. It created a 36 hour psychotic-like nightmare of side effects with blurred vision, anxiousness, rapid heartbeat, etc. We immediately called the doctor to address it. But he wasn't there and not available to speak with patients that day -- on a TUESDAY! And then on Wednesday as well. Just POOF, gone. He does not have a coworker to handle his patients when he isn't present. Nor any other way of reaching him in emergency situations. It is shocking. His assistant booked an appnt for me for that Thursday, two days later, his next available day, to rectify the medication problem. After a 40 minute Uber down there we were told that he "didn't show up" that day. Just blew off all his appointments. The Center never bothered to call the patients who were booked to come in, so the office was pure pandemonium as more and more people showed up to be told to go back home. I could go on, but by now you get the picture. This is not a place that should be called or considered "medical" or having to do with "healthcare" in any way. It is a circus at best. Dirty, crammed, chaotic, sad, disturbing, inefficient, unprofessional. Something you might see in a developing nation, but without professional educated doctors. A shocking disservice to the community. I've never seen anything like it. I hope I never do again. read more

Absolutely damaging and judgmental mental health counseling session with a doctor named Mierta. She called the cops on me within 30 minutes of starting the session without knowing anything about me. I was forcibly taken to a psych ward at Woodhull and held there for the day against my will. I have no history of any mental health issues or medications, trauma, abuse, nothing... just feeling kinda sad and trying to talk to someone about it. Honestly cannot believe that this happened to me today. Avoid at all costs. read more

Excellent nurse. She is very personable and accommodating. When the doctor wasn't in at the 10am time he normally comes in (nor was he in by 10:40), the nurse saw me and did a thorough job checking my throat, nose, basic levels, and determined it wasn't strep throat. I feel fortunate to see someone competent and friendly right away at opening time. Within a few minutes, three vocal patrons came in, banging on the our closed door for the nurse's attention, while we were inside for my checkup! Only in Brooklyn man, lol. I couldn't understand the man's shouting but he basically wanted the nurse to quit dilly-dallying, and help their special needs patient. The nurse managed to see me, wrap up sufficiently to address the higher needs patient, took phone calls, and processed the needed paperwork for all pretty fast while being personable and attentive throughout. This person is a gem and deserves to direct this place! She could not prescribe. This place should really have a doctor who is here when they state they will be working, to prescribe at all operating hours. The most unprofessional place I have been to. 2 prearranged appointment for psychological evaluation. Unable to see the doctor. First time after a 2 hours ride from the Bronx to Brooklyn with my autistic son, I was told the doctor had an emergency at 2 pm. This place arranged pick up transportation at 3:30 pm! Second time today 12/ 03. Got a call yesterday, my 12/09 appointment was moved up 6 days there was a cancellation. 2 hours cab ride. After waiting for one hour, the physician announced she will see no more patients. She blame staff for overbooking. 3 hrs shared ride back to the Bronx! Ahava is disgusting. There is no sanitation of the tables, medical equipment, or OT, PT, and speech materials. My child was just tossed into a room with a speech therapist who had never worked with them. The therapist was given no information on my child. The therapist seemed to be new or a student and was not supervised at all. The front desk receptionist was rude and unhelpful and the overall experience with scheduling was terrible.
