They had a fish fry outside of their market during the summer, and Sonny was right there bringing the fish out and helping with orders. The market is clean and well organized. I like the idea of getting my meat from a butcher rather than the larger supermarkets I'm used to. I've heard Sonny's prices are higher, but that's often the flip side of supporting small and local which makes it well worth it. I will make sure to stop by the next time I'm in the area.

He was very generous with helping schedule a payment and pickup time, making sure I knew to check his social media pages (he wanted to show the way he cuts meats so his customers are only getting the best parts, not making them pay more per ounce), and he has a charming personality to boot. We know people come 30-40 miles to get meat from this farm . It is so popular . They sell country chicken and fresh meats . The owner was not only open to hearing my criticism, but followed up on my complaints. He walked me through step by step what had happened, and said they are making tangible steps to improve the process. Based on this customer service, I will try the store again, with hopes that the improvements have been made. -- I bought a goat leg a year or so ago, and it was expensive, but I was okay with spending more for quality, and didn't have an issue. I recently came in to buy some more goat meat... I needed 2 lbs, but they only had 3 and 5 lbs packaged and that's all they were willing to sell, already packaged, already cut meat. I should have walked away then but I didn't. I bought the already packaged and already cut "bone in" meat. I've never before bought cut meat that was bone in, and when buying leg meat not stew meat, it's just plain weird. I am willing to pay more for quality, but I didn't get quality. The meat I bought was 1 lbs of bone, not usable for what I needed. So in reality I ended up paying not $13.99/lb but $48.55/1 lb and 13 ounces, a ridiculous price. I also feel a bit cheated, since when I weighed the meat it home, it was short by a good 1 lbs from what the package claimed. Now if the meat was good quality, that would be one thing. But the thing that really bothered me, and caused me to write this review, was the clear lack of care that went into butchering the meat. It clearly was not butchered at all, but sawed through, bone and all, into chunks. Bone dust was all over the meat, meaning I had to carefully rinse each piece to get off as much bone dust as possible. I know how to butcher meat, and should have done it myself, but this is just unacceptable from any place calling itself a butcher shop, let alone at these prices.

Was told it's being delivered later that day to call between 4p-5p. I did so nobody picked up the phone. Came into the store this morning. Had a very young gentleman working. Again did not understand much and did not know pricing. He said he just started working there. He told me there is no skirt steak. So was the previous day worker lying to me about the delivery. This is bad service. I don't mind the language barrier however the workers should know prices of items and the different cuts of meat. And should know if the meat that I am requesting is actually going to be delivered. Maybe I will try one more time to come back but highly skeptical about a meat store where the employees do not know pricing and the cuts of meat that the customer is asking about.
