Absolutely love this place for takeout. Wish they would do a buffet here cuz every dish behind the display case looks terrific. Usually I like to mix things up with my orders but I got stuck in a good rut and I'm being stubborn about the kabob roll and pakora for $12 all in. People don't talk enough about the deals and value meals on Yelp so if you want to satisfy that hunger for 6-8 hours for under $15 stop by Nawab. Owner is a nice guy but the worker at the counter is very rude. Food is alright but expensive. Please be careful and check your bill since we were cheated by the worker many time and finally I caught it. Yes he refunded and when I added the price of the items. "Horrible". Definitely, "Not Fresh" I bought Chicken Biryani and goat Kahari. The biryani container was half full. He overcharged my Goat Karahi by an additional two dollars the price listed on the wall was $10.99 and he charged $12.99.If the guy is desperate to charge an additional amount than posted value. I just walked away Chicken Biryani tasted asChicken added to rice, not cooked in it. Absolute waste of money. Beware the food is extremely oily. The bag was soaked in oil. Never again. I used to like the chicken tandoori here. Since the management change, the chicken is raw and uncooked. They claim that they are not fast food but the food was delivered in less than a minute. I should have suspected the quality then. The service felt prompt but the penalty you pay is raw chicken. This is not going to be my choice for tandoori chicken anymore. read more

Friendly, helpful guy worked the counter. Small selection of decently priced dry goods ($3 for a 2 lb bag of dried masoor dall (pink/orange lentils). Tried the 5.99$ 1/2 chicken + rice/salad platter to go. Chicken was wonderfully moist and tender. Good amount of spice, not to hot. Biryani rice wasn't my favorite but I think that was more a matter of I just don't like the flavors than poor preparation. My food was ready in under 10 minutes. It seems that the chicken was prepared to order (to some degree at least). You can call ahead to limit your wait time. There are some specials that aren't listed on the menu (see photos). The worst experience I've ever had with a desi restaurant has happened multiple times now. If I could give 0 stars I would. They gave no chutneys even upon request several times and when taking the order gave confirmation there were chutneys in the bag however, there were none. They originally didn't even have enough samosas but, we were accommodating and offered to order something else in addition instead. This would have all been overlooked has the quality of the food not been awful. The samosas were dried and looked ages old upon biting into a aloo samosa there was dried out something, not sure it qualifies as food. The kebabs were half raw. We have given this restaurant multiple chances with them always messing up something in our order but this time they have truly outdone themselves in wrecking all standards. read more

Worst place to buy meat in the Monroe / Dayton / South Brunswick area. They are cheaters. They gave us the spoiled goat meat. When we opened it, it was smelling badly. We went back and returned it. Their owner acknowledged that the meat is spoiled and took it back, but wont refund our money. He simply refused to do anything about it. We were customers for 10years and this is how they treat us. Please avoid them. They are shameless and disgraceful people. Who does this kind of stuff? Only people who have no soul can do it. We lost $160 but that's ok. What hurts is their attitude of no care for the patrons. Very sad that these kind of cheaters are operating in our community. Bring bad name to people of Pakistan / Indian origin. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Very unprofessional and lack of customer service skills. I order 10 naan from them. 1). I asked for the price they hung up the phone the first time, so I called again he hung up the phone again. Since, I have already placed an order I went to pickup the naan. He charged me $20 and doesn't give me receipt. 2). Got home and found all the naan were burned. 3). I called to tell him and he says bring it back I will refund your money. 4).Went back with the naan and he takes the naan back and REFUSES to give back money. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Used to serve excellent Mutton Biryani..probably the best I have had here in NJ. It hasnt been so great the last 2 times. I know people have brought up the issue of cleanliness - they have redone the place recently and it looks much better from the outside now . What happens inside ( the kitchen ) - I have no idea !! Cleaner now. Last time I came was about 2 years ago, and I got sick from eating the cooked food, and never came back. Saw updated reviews saying that the store is cleaner now, so i decided to give it another try. Had their Sheekh kababs and it was good. Keep in mind that their food is VERY SPICY, but you can ask them for mild. The guy at the counter was not the same owner i met when i went 2 years ago. I have purchased both halal goat and halal chicken and have had no complaints. The meat was fresh and good and competitively priced. WIth regards to teh cooked food they do a wonderful job with Chicken seekh kababs and the chicken Chapali kabab. They are both really delicious. If one wants to have a party the chicken seekh kababs for $1.00 each (minimum 12 per order) as a Wednesday special is a great option as appetizers. I have not made any grocery purchases and therefore cannot comment. Regardless the selection is very minimal unless you are looking for very specific Pakistani grocery. read more

Management is extremely courteous and will add or decrease heat in the food as you like. Reasonably priced and quite delicious. Their 'Naan' is freshly made so please call ahead to avoid waiting. Great for catering purpose. Their raw meat section sells fresh meat and is reasonably priced. The chicken is definitely better than the Stop N shop. Place is clean and does not smell (as other small meat stores). They are opening a new 'Chaat' and 'Paan' section. Waiting to taste that too !! read more

We came across this place first time on way to the masjid and stopped by to try out their takeout food. The place and pictures of food were very clean, organized we were excited to try their food so we ordered biryani with meat. It was way too spicy for our liking so much that we had runny eyes and noses non-stop every bite we ate...and our mouth were burning fire n numb, not only that we had upset stomach as a result. How could anyone eat that much hot spicy it's like a whole bottle of hot sauce per small bowl makes me question how dangerous for anyone with weak stomach or kids/elderly to eat that. Wish they offer level of how much spicy we like or give us a warning that it is very spicy like the other store did to make sure we know what we are buying/getting. We didn't expect it to be that spicy since we ate biryani before it wasn't that unusual hottest spicy level imaginable, it should be on the record for hottest biryani ever. Really good prices. Every Wednesday they have $12 for 12 kebabs, and their kebabs are HUGE. They have satisfactory cleanness which is ok.

The management at Nawab grill seemingly thinks that making food extra extra hot and spicy that burns tongues (for a start, that is, and then works its way down painfully.....umm....ALL the way...) will win them accolades and lots of customers. Unfortunately they ignore the fact that more often than not, it is the children of the household who persuade their parents into getting them biriyani, kabab and the like and it is impossible (and unsafe) for them to eat food this hot. I would encourage them to use a little more imagination and effort and think of flavors that exotic spices of the east other than loads of chilly flakes can add to food and make it more enticing and enjoyable. The place could use a bit of cleaning too, just thought I'd add. Again, as is customary of Indian sub-continent businesses, total smugness and self-righteous attitudes make this place belong right to the abject club. read more
