Worst customer service I've ever received. I booked an appointment with Lizzy for medium box braids with human hair ends which she said she could do (later found out she couldn't) at 10:30am. I showed up on time and she had someone else in her seat and then didn't start my hair until 12:00pm because she had to go get hair even though I told her to have the hair prepared. After we started I told her let's go thinner on the braids because they were way too thick to add human hair to the ends she said ok and I assumed she was fixing it I later found out she didn't change the thickness. In the middle of appointment she decides to tell me that she has another client coming at 4:30 so she'd have to do their hair also which she said would only take two hour (it took 5) I wasn't ok with her doing the other woman's hair but I had already paid $500 and wanted to make sure my hair was getting finished so I waited (I know very stupid of me) I waited over 5 hours and at this point it was 11:00pm so I had been there for a total of 10 hours and my braids looked terrible I explained to her that she was we going to have to give me a refund because she made me wait so long and the braids were nothing like I wanted. She refused for a full refund she wanted to refund me for the human hair only which I said no to because it was only $100 and wanted to remove the human ends and just do normal box braids which I refused because that's not what I paid for nor what I wanted. She insulted me called me childish was very disrespectful And blocked my number I would never step foot in her establishment Just wanted to post an update after seeing she called me a brat. SCAM/FRAUD ALERT I was taken for $250 dollars by this lady claiming to do hair. Back in march I really wanted to get my hair braided as I was going on vacation. I looked around as I didn't know anyone offhand that could braid my hair. I searched online and found her reviews to be good so I called her at Bright Love Salon and Spa, het name is Elizabeth Okoro. She said she could take me and that it would be a $250 deposit she needed the $50 for the hair uber to send her girl to get the hair. Everything seemed legit but I should have seen the red flags with such a high deposit. I did not since I was desperate and it was my first time getting braids. She said she would meet me at the salon. I looked up the salon seems to be legit hours show open until 11pm weird hours for a salon but hey it takes long to braid hair so seemed normal. I sent the deposit through Apple Cash HUGE Mistake. We went back and forth about the hair color picked it out all seemed good. I found a less expensive person after I gave the deposit asked her if my deposit was refundable she said no. Ok told her I found a less expensive person by about $100 less she said they must not be experienced like me. Asked me the name of the salon and apparently she said she knows her. Ok so I kept my appointment with her. This entire time she is making seem as if she is doing my hair. Then 30 minutes before my appointment I get a text saying she has to send me to someone's house because the salon where she rents a chair closes at 8pm and my hair is going to take longer than 5 hours. I was so confused and taken back that now I have this deposit that I can't get back being sent to a strangers house that I did not make the appointment with. I said ok because I'm going to lose my money. My husband said you are not going to a strangers house. He was concerned and made me realize that I could not just show up to a strangers house. So I asked her to please keep the $50 and have the decency to give me $200 back since she first lied that she was the stylist second I'm being sent to a place I did not agree to when I made my appointment and gave my deposit. We faced time she shows me her ID as to make me feel safe when she is not even the one doing my hair. I asked her to please give me my money back. She refused said that if I was BLACK I would not be questioning going to a strangers house. I could not believe that she said that to me. What does being Black have to do with feeling safe going to a strangers house. She offered for me to go to the salon the next day I told her I'm working and Flying out I can't that is why I made my appointment today, she said well to bad. Why would I go to a fake salon. I told her I will fight it with Apple she laughed said good luck they don't give you your money back. I had no idea that I could not get my money back from Apple but she was well informed. She got away with a free $250 and she had no remorse or kind heart about it, she is a plane thief. She even told me she doesn't do hair and does not take new clients after she took my money. So apparently she sits on her ass and rips people off. She takes a cut finds leads and sends you to random people. She is a horrible human being. This was so wrong on so many levels. Unfortunately she made it so I don't trust people I learned hard lesson. She took my hard working money without a care. I hope she gets her Karma. Now she changed her salon name from Bright Love Salon and Spa to African braiding and Weaves. I have a screen shot of her ID and all the text messages to prove that she defrauded me. I'm looking into taking legal action against her try to get my money back. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY scheduled an appointment same day this past Saturday and was appreciative that she was able to accommodate. She had more good reviews than bad so I felt confident with trying her. I wanted 2 boxer braids in which hair was included. I scheduled an appointment. 1/2 hour before the appointment time she texted me and asked me could I meet her at her house instead of the salon and could I pick up hair. After braiding at first sight it looked fine, but then I noticed the braids were not done neatly and my real hair was sticking out. I had her try to re-braid( changing size of the braid and mentioning the braids are too loose) a few times before finally I had to go and accepted the best of a bad situation. She tried to blame it on my natural hair as being the cause, however I got the exact same style before with another stylist and it didn't look messy. She also noted maybe it was because she had extremely long fingernails. Why would you accept a client if your fingernails would not allow you to do the best job? I was not able to keep the style but for 3 days before it looked absolutely crazy. I was disappointed in the outcome of what I received. Because of this experience, I would not recommend. read more

The woman Elizabeth did my wife's braids who is 7 months pregnant late September. My wife got braids for her pregnancy shoot and immediately after leaving her braids began to fall out from the scalp FULL BRAIDS. Before she even did her hair I watched my wife ask her multiple times was her hair long enough and grip-able by her. She said YES. She was shown a picture of the style and at no point advised against the weave type for the box braids or even mentioning one texture of the braiding hair was more corse than the other. She rushed the first braiding session for a second client. After almost half her hair had come down in two weeks my wife even came back and she braided the hair that came out again and sprayed spritz on it. We spent $314 in total and it hasn't even been a full four weeks and my wife's hair was coming completely down from the scalp even leaving bald spots and all my wife wanted was a partial refund, just half of what we paid. She offered to only give back $50 then $70. She lied about giving us back change when we over paid her, my wife even paid her $4 for a debt she had with the fruit guy and she even included that in the little refund. she prioritized whatever she had going on personally than to just remedy her incompetence and putting the client first. She blamed the styling on the hair being too short in the first place to braid and that the braiding hair purchased was too silky even mixed with the corse hair. She said all our money went on her booth cost. We went back and forth and ultimately she was rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate. The worse service we've ever had. I wouldn't advise going to her for services. read more

Called to get hair braided but she would not speak to me. Very rude and told me to go mom internet To book. What appeared to be braids for $250 was actually a consult for 15 mins at $250. But once you book you will lose your money if you don't come. Then it appears she will negotiate her $500 braiding fee! You will need to chose between losing money or over paying. This was my 1st time getting my hair done in this salon. It was not however, my 1st time getting my hair done by Lizzy. Therefore, I will start with the shop. The shop is sooo cute, clean, and popping lol. I really liked the appearance of the shop, but I really enjoyed the overall vibe inside the shop. It was not that gossipy, loud, kind of intense vibe you prepare yourself for when getting your hair done in a shop, (you know, where all you want to do is get in, and get out? lol) This was the complete opposite I didn't mind being there my time was very enjoyable, and chill. Flatscreen TV on the wall playing all your favorite music videos. The clients entering in were very pleasant, laid back, and seemed to just vibe out with everyone. Not to mention they are 'kid friendly'. It really just puts your mind at ease, and you forget your there getting a service done, and it feels more like home.
